Chapter 6 - Matinee
"Jake wake up!" I groggily woke up from my surprisingly deep slumber as I heard Nemona's voice blaring from outside the door. I checked my alarm clock, and it was only 6:00 a.m.!
"Nemonaaaaaa, it's 6:00 a.m. Why are you here?" I complained. Wasn't she going to set up stuff for student council without me?
"I decided that I'd let you come with me to help set up the Student Council stuff! I'm sure they'd all like you...maybe," Nemona replied.
"Damn am I that bad?" I joked. "Yeah that sounds good. Better than just going by myself. I would've probably gotten lost anyway. Let me get a shower and stuff." I got my uniform and toiletries as I passed by Nemona to the public bathroom down the hall. It looks like no one is up yet, which is surprising because Nemona basically yelled at me to get up. They didn't have to get up until around 7:30 since school doesn't officially start until 8:30, so it would be awhile until the school starts bustling.
The bathroom was just as dingy as my room. There was mold on the ceiling, the sinks were crusty, no divide between the girls' bathroom and the boys' bathroom, and the shower curtains were transparent! I thought this was a distinguished school! The sixth floor must be punishment for all the irresponsible people. "You've got to be kidding me. I didn't bring a swimsuit!" This was gonna be awkward.
I started up the shower and went as quickly as I could hoping no one would pass by seeing me unclothed. Thank goodness Nemona woke me when she did or people would be seeing me! I finished the shower, put on my clothes, and then went to the sink. There was surprisingly a girl there even though it's only 6:15. She was a short girl wearing a pokeball sweatshirt, a gray mini skirt, blueish-gray leggings with red and blue x's on it, and some boots. She had short red and blue hair with glasses and a really cute eevee backpack.
"You up early too huh?" I asked starting conversation. She looked a little spooked not expecting someone to also be here. "Sorry for startling you. I wasn't expecting anyone up this early either. What's your name?"
She looked down avoiding eye contact. "I-I-I'm Penny," She responded. She must be really shy.
"Well I'm Jake nice to meet you! So what got you stuck on this miserable floor?"
"Ummmm...my parents worry about me a lot, so they kept triple checking everything that I would bring, so I showed up late and they ran out of good rooms."
"Damn that sucks. I got here at midnight." She looked at me increduously, but she let it be as she finished getting ready. She left silently.
"I guess I'll see you around Penny!" I said as she left. She waved back awkwardly as she left the bathroom. She seems nice even though she's shy. I left the bathroom with my things and went back to the room where Nemona was pacing in place ready to go.
"Do you have A.D.H.D. or something?" I asked.
"What'd you say?" She asked not hearing what I said. I let it drop as she begged me to hurry up.
I went back into the room seeing Quaxly not even awake yet. How is he still sleeping after all of the noise? I smiled mischieviously thinking of how I'd wake him up. I went to mess with his hair - I was a natural at messing people's hair up at this point - and his eyes opened wide and he caught my fist. He glared at me with a look that said to never get near his hair. Quaxly and Squawkabillies do have something in common then besides being birds.
I grabbed him and let him sit on my hat as I left the room. Nemona smiled excitedly ready to go. "I'm so excited for the first day!" she said.
"I'm surprised you're not nervous with that speech you had to make. What do you plan to say?"
"Oh I don't know yet. I'll just wing it." I looked at her like she was crazy as Quaxly was snoozing on my hat.
"You're joking right. There's no way you can just come up with a speech on the spot," I accused.
"I don't know. It's not that hard." I looked at her giving up on trying to convince her that it's not normal to be a prodigy at everything.
We went down the elevator to floor 2 where the Student Council room is. Thank goodness for Nemona because I would have no idea how to get around the school because it's HUGE! So many classrooms and spaces for people to hang out. It was deserted now, but I know that it would be packed as school starts. We finally made it to the Student Council room as I saw some fellow students walking in. We strolled in and everyone suddenly stopped what they were doing and stared at me.
"Uhhhh...hi?" I didn't really know how to respond seeing all these eyes on me.
"Nemona, who's this? And why are you letting him in our room!" A girl sassed at us. She looked my age with slightly curled blonde hair running down to just past her shoulders. She was a couple inches shorter than me, and she had piercing evergreen eyes that stared daggers at me. That's weird, I never really think of people's eyes when I describe them. Anyways, she had on a green sweater matching her eyes with a dress shirt underneath and the collar coming out the sweater. She also had a darker skirt on that went to her mid-thigh as well as some nice dress shoes. She seemed like a really formal and strict rule-follower. Makes sense she's in student council. She had a posse all circled around where she was working that agreed with her. Seems like she has some followers.
"Aw c'mon Sophia, I said he could help. You know we need as many hands as we can get for the preparation," Nemona fought back.
"Just because you're president doesn't mean you can just bring anyone you want into student council. I'm vice president and can have a say in this matter. Plus, this is a democracy. How about we vote on it? Anyone who thinks this random should help us, raise their hand." Nemona raised her hand dejectedly knowing that she would never win when it came down to a vote. No one else raised their hand. Sophia, who I guess is the vice president, smirked.
"Now raise your hand if you want him gone?" Everyone in her little posse raised their hand as well as her. "Well that's a shame. So sorry to see you go," She remarked sarcastically. Quaxly and I glared at her. She must be the mean popular girl of the school. We walked out heads held high not letting Sophia see our disappointment.
"Sorry Jake. I thought this might happen," Nemona replied. I nodded at her in understanding as I left the room. The door slammed shut by Sophia as I left. Damn she's evil!
"Well that stinks Quaxly. Now we have nothing to do, and I am NOT going back to our room." Quaxly agreed immediately. I started walking around aimlessly looking for anything that could keep our attention when we somehow got to the front of school.
"Quaxly, you wanna go outside to get some fresh air?" Quaxly nodded as he went back to sleep. I walked outside to the sun rising beautifly over the city. Reds, pinks, and oranges filled the clouds as I watched. It was beautiful! Suddenly, I heard voices yelling at someone a little down the courtyard snatching me away from the beautiful moment. I decided to go check it out since I was bored and already taken away from the sunrise. What I saw was something I did not expect.
Penny was out looking scared and kinda disappointed as a girl and boy with ripped up uniforms were yelling at her.
"Why wouldn't you join Team Star? You're like all the other sheep in that school trying to be normal!" The boy yelled.
"Yeah! Join us so you can escape the matrix!" The girl yelled in agreement. I was about to start laughing at their claims until I saw Penny look like she was about to cry. I ran over and stood in front of her. She looked up surprised. "Jake?"
"Hey, who are you? We're recruiting someone you know! Get out of our business!" The girl yelled.
"Not until you leave Penny alone! It's obvious she doesn't wanna join your weirdo club! Now go be weird somewhere else!" I yelled. The weirdos looked at me and laughed.
"You think we're scared of you? Let's battle and we'll see who's gonna leave!" The girl stepped up to the plate with pokeball in hand. "Shroodle go!" A cute shroodle came bouncing out ready to battle.
"Alright then! Let's go Quaxly!" I looked up at Quaxly expecting him to jump out eager to battle, but he was still asleep! "C'mon Quaxly not now!" The weirdos laughed at me even more. Penny looked like she was about to die laughing but tried to hide it since I was helping her. I tapped him until he woke up, and he jumped up ready to battle. He seemed worked up from having to wake up and looked even more powerful than before. "There you go Quaxly! I think you just learned Work Up!" Quaxly looked back at me angrily telling me to focus. "Right! Use Water Gun!" Quaxly sent his upgraded beam of water towards Shroodle.
"Shroodle dodge and run towards Quaxly!" He dodged pretty speedily for a pokemon with little legs and ran towards Quaxly.
"Now use bite Shroodle!" It came running fast as I thought of a counter.
"Let it bite you Quaxly and use a point blank water gun!" Quaxly was willing to go through some pain to win a battle, so he agreed immediately and let Shroodle bite him. The weirdos smirked at me as Shroodle sank its front teeth into Quaxly's beak cutting off the water gun. Did they just kiss? When Shroodle jumped back, I saw some poison oozing out of its little tongue and looked towards Quaxly. Quaxly kept trying to spit out Water Guns, but his beak wouldn't open! "MMMM! MMM!" Quaxly wordlessly hummed freaking out with his beak closed shut.
"You should have checked the pokedex entry for Shroodle. You're so inexperienced and weak it's funny. Its pokedex entry states, "Though usually a mellow Pokémon, it will sink its sharp, poison-soaked front teeth into any that anger it, causing paralysis in the object of its ire." That means that Quaxly's beak is paralyzed and won't be able to use Water Gun anymore. Hahahaha!"
"Quaxly, remind me to check the pokedex next time haha." Quaxly glared at me for my mistake. "Right sorry. Let's get back to the battle! We're at a disadvantage not being able to use water attacks, but it's not over." Quaxly smiled at that and gave a thumbs up.
"Alright Quaxly! Work Up one more time!" Quaxly got even more angry from his circumstances as he let his emotion take over. All he saw was red as he shot like a cannon towards Shroodle.
"Use Pound with all your might!" Shroodle looked in fright as it was too late to dodge and got sent flying from Quaxly's worked up pound. It didn't get back up since Shroodle are pretty frail, and Quaxly won the battle. "MMMMMMMM!" It hummed in anger as he waited for more.
"I guess it's my turn. My Yungoos and I have been working on a move that perfectly counters your Quaxly! Hahaha!" The boy weirdo came up and sent out his Yungoos, and I checked the pokedex to not make the same mistake as last time.
"Yungoos, the Loitering Pokemon. A normal type. Its stomach fills most of its torso. It wanders the same path every day, searching for fresh food."
"It's entry doesn't really express anything that I need to know in battle, but I'm still glad I did it," I looked towards Quaxly. "You still ready to go buddy?" Quaxly looked at me eager and angry, ready for battle.
"Alright! Run in and use Pound." Quaxly ran quickly over just like he did with Shroodle. The boy didn't say anything oddly enough and was about to let Yungoos get hit. Until suddenly he shouted his next move.
"Yungoos! Catch his fist in your teeth and use Thunder Fang!" Thunder Fang! It can learn Thunder Fang!
"Back off Quaxly!" It was too late. He was too mad to stop his pursuit and fell right into their trap. Yungoos got hit by the pound hard, but took the pain and sunk his teeth into Quaxly's wing and bit down hard with electricity. That's one tough Yungoos! Quaxly spasmed as the electricity coursed through him.
"Quaxly no!" Yungoos eventually let go and watched as Quaxly fell to the ground.
"Looks like it's over hahahha! It was too easy!" Right as the weirdo said that Quaxly started standing up. I looked on in surprise as a blue aura surrounded him. He stood up with all his strength like a boxer standing up after a knock down, and screamed with so much aura that the paralysis got pushed away from his beak and he sent a large beam of water into the sky. It was so powerful!
"Quaxly! Water gun Yungoos with everything you've got!" Yungoos stood no chance as a huge beam of water sent Yungoos sprawling into a wall. Quaxly couldn't control his power, so after he sent Yungoos into a wall, he started spraying the water everywhere around him including into an open window. Quaxly eventually stopped as he fell down in exhaustion.
"HEY!" We heard shouting coming from the open window and saw Sophia soaked head to toe in water looking out at us. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME! YOU AGAIN! YOU BETTER NEVER LET ME SEE YOU AGAIN OR YOU'RE DEAD! YOU GOT ALL MY CLOTHES SOAKED!" I started laughing as Quaxly and I got our payback. "Now we're even!" I yelled. She stormed off with steam coming out of her ears as Nemona looked on trying to hold in her laughter. She gave me a slick thumbs up through the window as she went to find a towel to help her.
"I guess you're a little more powerful than we thought huh?" The weirdos scratched the back of their heads awkwardly. "We'll get out of your hair haha. Hasta la vistar!" They ran off after doing a weird star pose.
I went to grab Quaxly as I looked around to see if my battle caused anymore damage. My eyes landed on a window with a pokemon on the other side. It was a Charcadet. We locked eyes for a second until she ran off further into the building away from the window. I ignored her for the moment as I set my focus on Quaxly.
"Hey buddy! That was amazing! You did really great out there little bro!" Quaxly smiled and slicked his hair back the best he could and then fell asleep. "You deserve a great rest buddy. I wonder where that power came from?"
"That was the ability Torrent, but I've never seen one as powerful in a Quaxly as that one. You're a lucky kid!" I looked over as the unknown person said this. She was a lady slightly shorter than me in her mid 20s that had black hair with an unusual hair style. She sported a black track suit as she ran over. "I was jogging around the school taking in the sights before all the chaos of the first day of school when I couldn't help but be drawn to your Quaxly's power! It was very refreshing to see as a battle instructor witnessing a person and pokemon give everything they have in a battle!"
"Aww that's nice of you to say. We're pretty inexperienced right now so we're a little rough around the edges, but Quaxly has a lot of fight in him!" The lady nodded impressed with my answer.
"I'm Ms. Dendra by the way. I'm the battle instructor here at Naranja Academy. If you and that Quaxly ever need help training, feel free to come by and ask. I specialize in fighting types, so I would be the perfect person to come to for Quaxly's future evolutions!"
"I'll have to take you up on that offer! I'm Jake Kami by the way. I'm gonna become champion with Quaxly by my side, so we only train as hard as we can. No less!"
"I love your spirit Jake! It's got me as pumped as you!" She replied excitedly. "Well, I'm gonna continue my jog. I'll see you in class Jake and Penny!" She ran off faster than I've seen a human run. I almost forgot that Penny was here since I was so caught up in the battle!
"Hey Penny you ok? Who were those weirdos?" I asked her.
"Yeah I'm ok. Thanks so much for saving me," She looked down awkwardly in gratitude. "You must be new here because everyone knows Team Star. They're students who harrass other students and force them to join their team. They're bullies." She looked downcast as she said it.
"Wow that's horrible. They need to be put to a stop!" I replied. Penny looked up at me with hope in her eyes and then put it away immediately.
"Well, I'm gonna go now. Thanks again for saving me." She smiled at me and looked me in the eye this time a little more comfortable with me as she ran off inside the school. She seemed to be warming up to me somewhat. That Charcadet is still on my mind though. Why was it watching me? And why did it run away? And why is there just a random Charcadet running around the school? I guess I'll leave that for another time. I walked back into school slower than Penny did until I realized who I was holding.
"Oh shoot! I gotta get you to a nurse Quaxly! Is there a nurse in the school?" I ran around looking for any indication or help to get to the nurse. There had to be a nurse here right? I ran around until I found Tyme at the front desk.
"Ms. Tyme! Is there a nurse in the school? I gotta get Quaxly there before school starts."
"Looks like you got yourself in some more trouble. Typical. But yes, I will take you there. Follow me," She responded. I followed her as we walked to the nurse's office ignoring her criticism.
"So what'd you do this time Mr. Kami?" Ms. Tyme asked. I sweatdropped as I told her our experience with the Team Star grunts.
"Oh that's great actually! Those Team Star grunts are a real pain to the school and its image. It's good that you scared them off and saved a fellow student! Maybe you're not so much of a troublemaker after all!" She responded.
"Gee thanks," I rolled my eyes at her back handed compliment unnoticed by Ms. Tyme.
"Team Star needs to be stopped. There is a lot of mystery behind it. Even Mr. Clavell won't tell me since I'm only a teacher. He says it's 'confidential.' Frankly, I feel like I deserve to know," I let her vent about the situation for a bit as we walked to the nurse's office.
"Well, Mr. Kami, here we are. The nurse's office. Go take care of that Quaxly and call for faculty help if you have anymore trouble with Team Star. You don't have to be the hero," She reminded.
"I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for showing me where to go!" She nodded and walked back to her station for preparation towards the first day of school. I walked in to a pink room while a lady with long pink hair was playing with some injured pokemon.
"Uhh hello," I greeted. She turned around and looked at me in wonder. "I have an injured pokemon. He fought really hard, so he's pretty hurt. Could you help him?"
"Oh of course sweetie. Let me check on him," She replied in a calming tone. As she took him, I got a better look at her. She was a lady about Ms. Dendra's height but taller with her heels so about my height. She was also about Ms. Dendra's age looking like she just graduated college. She had long and thick purple and pink hair and was quite pretty. I wonder how everyone has such colorful hair? She had the typical nurse's fit with a stethoscope and nurse gown with a white sweater underneath.
"His injuries don't look too bad. I'll just give him some medicines and berries, and he should be good to go by the assembly. What has you two up so early," She asked in a comforting way. I talked about my day with her so far as she helped Quaxly out. She looked up at the mention of Ms. Dendra though.
"Oh Dendry. Always pushing herself too hard. She didn't even ask how Quaxly was! Ugh that girl. When is she going to learn how to keep safe. I mean I know she's fit and everything but that doesn't mean everyone else is the same as her and..." I let her talk about "Dendry" as she kept doing the necessary parameters towards Quaxly. I had a little suspicion of her feelings towards Ms. Dendra, but I wouldn't tease her about it right now. Maybe later hehe.
"Oh shoot! I forgot to ask you your name. Sorry for being rude. I'm Nurse Miriam by the way," She introduced.
"No worries Nurse Miriam, I didn't even introduce myself either. I'm Jake Kami. I guess we were both worried about Quaxly huh?"
"You're right hehe, but he should be good to go shortly. I'm just glad you actually came down to me instead of just letting him rest in a pokeball. Pokemon and people get the proper treatment here in this office, but some people just refuse to come down," She vented.
"That's horrible! We gotta keep ourselves and our pokemon healthy right?" I responded.
"Thank you! Finally someone said it. If I were the health instructor, then people would actually know how to treat themselves and their pokemon," She remarked.
"You should go for it. I bet you'd be a great health instructor!" I encouraged. She smiled somberly looking down to the floor as I encouraged her.
"I've already tried to do so, but I failed the entrance exam. I might as well stay a nurse."
"Don't give up just yet. I bet that if you really put your mind to it, you'll do amazing. You're already doing amazing with Quaxly and all these other pokemon."
"You're too sweet Jake. You know what? I'll look through a few study books and see how I feel. I'll give it a shot. Thanks Jake," she responded. I nodded and smiled. "It looks like Quaxly's ready to go. He just needs to get some more sleep and he'll be good!"
"I know he loves his sleep, so he'll be happy to hear that. Thanks Miriam."
"Of course! Come back anytime!"
I left the office and wondered where to go next. I read the clock showing 8:15. It's probably time to go to the gym now where Nemona will say her speech! I'm excited to see her speak, except that I have no idea how to get to the gym.
"Hey Miriam. Could you help me get to the gym? I have no idea how to get there haha," I laughed embarrassed.
"Haha. Yeah of course. I was going there anyways." She locked up the office, and we headed out. As we walked along, I talked about my arrival here as she talked about her own arrival to the school. She's honestly really fun to talk to. I could finally have a staff member that doesn't think I'm irresponsible! As we got closer, my curiosity got the better of me.
"So you and Ms. Dendra are close huh? You seem to know 'Dendry' pretty well," I observed while looking at her with a knowing smirk.
"Oh shut up, it's not like that!" Her cheeks went red a little as she punched me playfully and I smirked even more. "I find that hard to believe," I responded.
"Ok fine. I guess you know, but please don't tell people. Especially Dendry. I've tried getting closer to her in that way a few times but she's so dense that she doesn't pick up what I'm doing." She sighed dejectedly. "All that's in her mind are pokemon and exercise."
"You know I can try to get through to her! She offered to train my Quaxly whenever I needed, so maybe I can help you out during those little sessions," I responded.
"You'd do that for me! Thanks Jake! But don't be too obvious ok? I don't want to mess things up."
"No worries. I'm the perfect wingman!" That's not true but I'll let her think that hehe. I'll try my best to get them together. What could go wrong?
We finally arrived at the gym as lots of other students headed in. We walked through the doors, and Miriam and I separated with a see you later and a thank you as she went to the faculty area and I went to the student area. The problem is I had no idea where to sit. I wasn't too early, but I wasn't too late so there were open seats, but they were next to a bunch of different friend groups. As I stood there like a bump on a log, social anxiety taking over, someone VERY annoying called out to me.
"Hey new kid!" Sophia yelled. "Are you lonely? Do you have no friends?" She pouted. It was such a stereotypical high school TV show burn, but it worked as her little posse laughed their asses off and everyone else smiled a little in my direction making fun of me. It wasn't even a good joke why are they laughing?!
I quickly ran towards any seat I could find and sat next to a mean looking guy who was sitting by himself. I was pretty desperate, but I think I made the wrong choice. He looked angrily at me for interrupting his focus as he was reading a mini journal/novel thing. It was red with what looked kinda like Koraidon on the front of it. Koraidon's famous!
"Hi, I'm Jake! Nice to meet you," I said politely towards the imposing student. "I'm Arven," he responded coldy, and he went back to reading his little book. Fair enough honestly, I don't need to be friends with everyone here. I definitely wouldn't anyway with all the humiliation I've gathered in only one morning of being at this school, but whatever. This "Arven" was a tall guy with a blue vest and orange tie to go with his uniform. He had very light brown hair with a streak of darkish brown hair in the center. He had some hair covering his right eye naturally since his hair was long enough to go down his shoulders. He kept a yellow backpack with him as he was intoxicated by the book in front of him. I let him be since he was so into the book and looked over as Sophia was smirking at me. I smiled back at her and waved like an idiot to make her feel embarrassed, and it worked. She looked at me annoyed and stared back at the stage. Finally, Mr. Clavell went up to the stage right as the clock hit 8:30.
"Hello students! We welcome you to your first day at Naranja Academy!" Everyone cheered in excitement as their dreams were just getting kicked off.
"I am sure you will all have great days here learning everything you would like to know. Especially in training for this year's treasure hunt!" Everyone cheered even louder at that as I was confused on what the treasure hunt is.
"For those who don't know, the treasure hunt is an experience outside of school as you search for your true passion, or in this case, your treasure! You have the opportunity to explore the Paldea region and learn everything about it and find your treasure! It's a great opportunity that we base our curriculum around," Mr. Clavell explained.
"Now I'm sure you've heard enough from me for one day, so I'm going to turn your attention to our Student Council President and Champion Nemona Garcia!" People clapped politely while I clapped as loud as I could. "YEAH NEMONA!" I screamed as everyone stared at me. "Sorry..." No one likes excitement huh?
"Hello everyone! I hope you're as excited as I am to kick off another school year! I remember the first time I came here when I was 10 years old, nervous of what to expect. Now I know I should have never been nervous because of how great the experience is, so experience it to the fullest because it can't get much better than this school!" Some of the younger kids in the elementary and middle schools clapped excitedly since it was their first experience here.
"And to the seasoned veterans of the school like me! I know you know the drill already, but I want you to know that you shouldn't take this time for granted because it won't last forever. So have fun out there!" Some of the people around me clapped to be polite but everyone else was just calm. All I know is that I clapped loud!
"This school is a treasure for allowing us to find our own treasure! So follow your passion to the fullest and love your lives here at Naranja Academy!"
I'm so excited to experience this school. My dream! I can't wait!
I looked over at the guy who sat next to me. I was just thinking about him when he just plopped down next to me and introduced himself. The student that Koraidon chose to save. I remembered walking to school when it happened...
Another year of school, and Mom forgot to call me again! She said she would call me before I went to register for school this year, but she must be enraptured by her work. Again. Ugghhh.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" I jumped as I heard a scream to the left of me. I looked over and saw a boy and his Quaxly falling from the heavens about to die! How do I save them! As I thought this, Koraidon forced itself out of my pokeball and flew as fast as it could to the scene. Huh?
I ran after Koraidon as he flew to save the boy and his Quaxly. It took me awhile, but I finally made it to where Koraidon saved the boy, and he looked happy as the boy pet it. He was also with the Student Council girl Nemona. What is going on?
Then, they looked like they were freaking out, and Koraidon grabbed them, threw them on his back, and sped off towards Mesagoza. Why did Koraidon just leave me like that? That boy must be important if Koraidon is bonding with him immediately. I've known Koraidon all my life and he never once looked that happy to see me or anyone for that matter. Just my mom, but she forced him to stay with me to protect me.
I walked to school in thought as Koraidon sped off. I could afford to be late to school since my mom has so much influence on Paldea, and she made sure I got a good room. She finally did something for me. Great! Thanks Mom for always being there for me! I was being sarcastic by the way.
Why did Koraidon go to him immediately? And what is Mom planning having Koraidon help that boy? Koraidon never goes out of his pokeball unless Mom wants him to do something, so she has some influence here. Hmmmm...
I woke back up from my memory as the boy next to me yelled, "YEAH NEMONA!" Everyone looked over at us. He's pretty embarrassing to be around.
Maybe he's the one who can help me. Help me save him. He must be if Koraidon and Mom chose him. There has to be a connection to all of this, but what? Mom...what are you doing down in Area Zero?
That was my longest chapter yet! Phew!
I'm sorry for taking so long to get chapters out. I've been pretty busy with school, but after this coming week is over, I'll be a lot less busy. Expect more chapters to come from Friday onward!
Thanks so much for reading, and please review! It's my first time writing, so please put recommendations or criticisms in the reviews so I can make a better story for you guys!
Also, if you guys are wondering, it isn't an OC x Nemona ship. It definitely looks that way, but they're just good friends. Sorry to anyone who doesn't like that, but I got some good romance plans in the works along with other stuff. It won't just be Jake who dates hehe...
Anyways, have a great day!
