Chapter 2: Arrival of Darkness
Bella Swan's arrival at Hogwarts was nothing short of spectacular. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the castle grounds, she stepped off the Hogwarts Express with an air of confidence that demanded attention. Cloaked in darkness, her form was flanked by a sleek black panther, its golden eyes gleaming with an intelligence that mirrored her own. The students nearby paused in their chatter, their eyes widening with awe and curiosity as Bella strode towards the castle, her presence commanding the attention of all who beheld her.
Meanwhile, in the Great Hall, the sorting ceremony for the first-year students had just concluded. The last of the new students had been sorted into their respective houses, and the feast was about to begin. The atmosphere was lively, with students chatting and laughter filling the air as they eagerly awaited the arrival of their dinner.
Suddenly, the large oak doors of the Great Hall swung open with a resounding creak, and all heads turned to see who had entered. Bella Swan stood at the threshold, her presence unmistakable even in the dim light of the torches lining the walls. She was a vision of power and mystery, her cloak billowing behind her like the wings of a dark angel, her panther companion prowling at her side with a grace that was both mesmerizing and intimidating.
Silence fell over the Great Hall as Bella made her entrance, the only sound the soft padding of her panther's paws against the stone floor. Dumbledore, who had been presiding over the feast, rose from his seat at the staff table, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he beheld the scene before him.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Dumbledore announced, his voice carrying throughout the hall, "I am pleased to introduce a new member of our Hogwarts community. Miss Bella Swan, a transfer student from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic."
A ripple of whispers spread through the Great Hall as Bella made her way towards the staff table, her panther following close behind. She could feel the eyes of every student upon her, curiosity and intrigue evident in their gazes.
"Now, let us proceed with the sorting of Miss Swan into her house," Dumbledore continued, gesturing towards the front of the Great Hall where the Sorting Hat awaited.
Bella approached the stool with a confident stride, her panther circling around her as if to protect her from any who would dare challenge her. She felt the weight of the Sorting Hat as it was placed upon her head, its ancient magic probing her mind.
After a moment of deliberation, the Sorting Hat made its decision.
"SLYTHERIN!"
The Great Hall erupted into cheers and applause as Bella removed the Sorting Hat and took her place at the Slytherin table, her panther settling at her feet with a contented rumble.
Bella's lips curled into a satisfied smirk as she surveyed her new housemates. She knew that Slytherin would provide her with the opportunities she needed to achieve her goals, whatever they may be.
As the feast continued, Bella couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement coursing through her veins. Hogwarts was a place of endless possibilities, and she intended to make the most of every opportunity that came her way.
But beneath her excitement, a darkness stirred within Bella's soul, a hunger for power and knowledge that could never be quenched. And as she sat in the Great Hall, surrounded by her new classmates, Bella knew that her journey at Hogwarts was only just beginning.
