Chapter 3: The Arrival of Darkness - Draco's POV
Draco Malfoy sat with his friends, Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, and Pansy Parkinson, at the Slytherin table, his gaze drifting lazily across the Great Hall. The sorting ceremony had just concluded, and the feast was about to begin. He watched with mild interest as the first-years eagerly awaited the start of the meal, their faces alight with excitement.
As the doors of the Great Hall swung open, Draco's attention was drawn to the figure entering, cloaked in a sense of mystery that intrigued him. He raised an eyebrow as the newcomer, accompanied by a sleek black panther, made her way towards the staff table with a confidence that demanded attention.
"Who's that?" Pansy whispered, leaning in towards Draco with a curious glint in her eyes.
Draco shrugged, his lips curling into a smirk. "No idea. But she certainly knows how to make an entrance."
As Dumbledore introduced the newcomer as Bella Swan, a transfer student from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Draco exchanged knowing glances with his friends. This was certainly a turn of events that promised to make the new school year more interesting.
"Now, let us proceed with the sorting of Miss Swan into her house," Dumbledore announced, gesturing towards the front of the Great Hall where the Sorting Hat awaited.
Draco watched with mild amusement as Bella approached the sorting stool, her posture radiating confidence. He exchanged a few snarky comments with his friends as they speculated about which house she would be sorted into.
"Probably Gryffindor," Theodore remarked with a smirk. "She seems like the type to crave attention."
"Or perhaps Ravenclaw," Blaise added thoughtfully. "She does have an air of intelligence about her."
Draco rolled his eyes, his attention focused on Bella as the Sorting Hat was placed upon her head. He couldn't deny the sense of anticipation that stirred within him as he waited to see where she would end up.
"SLYTHERIN!"
The word echoed through the Great Hall, and Draco couldn't help but feel a surge of satisfaction as Bella joined him at the Slytherin table. There was something about her, something dark and intriguing, that piqued his interest in a way that few others had.
As the feast continued, Draco found himself stealing glances at Bella, unable to shake the feeling that she would be someone worth getting to know. Hogwarts was about to become a lot more interesting with her presence, and Draco was eager to see what sort of trouble she would stir up.
