Chapter 3
Wizengamot Chambers
British Ministry for Magic Building

Lord Charles Potter, Former Auror Commander during the war with Grindelwald Now Minister for Magic of Magical Britain. Oh yes you read that right for the last few years Charles had been made Minister after using his economic and political strength alongside Lord Arcturus they had Minister Bagnold removed from office on charges of corruption and attempted line of theft with the sterilising of Sirius Black.
Which was apparently a mixture of high exposer to the Dementors and poisoning his food while in his cell, the Auror in question who did that was arrested but had no memory of who gave him the poison.
Right now, Charles was overseeing the case of fraud and attempted line of theft brought against House Malfoy by Lord Arcturus Black, the Malfoy Lord was not looking his best nowadays this was not the first time he was brought before the courts, they had been stripped of their lordship of the Town of Trowbridge, the Title that was granted to their family by the muggle monarchy.
The Malfoys suffered in terms of wealth, as their assets in France were once again seized by the French Ministry on the orders of Consul Jean Delacour, despite Lucuis standing before the French Government and all but pleading that he was innocent of his crimes in England.
The problem was that to the Magical French Senate, the Malfoy family was still considered less than dirt for their politics of pureblood supremacy. Sure, there were many purebloods in France, but those who held positions of power were smart enough not to spread their views in policy that affected the lives of Voters.
That and Jean Delacour was married to Apolline Delacour, Princess and Heir of the Veela Nation, so being an open Pureblood Supremist not a good idea.
Officially they were still lords but lord of the manor due to the size of Malfoy manor, however their wealth and influence has greatly diminished with many of their allies dropping them to save their own skins.
He watched as the Wizengamot members voted in favour of Lord Black. "Lord Black, the Wizengamot has voted in favour of your case, Lord Malfoy is found guilty of Line of Theft are you sure you are against him serving prison time," Charles asked him still slightly shocked that Arcturus had requested that.
"I am Minister, the little worm would find a way to wiggle his way out of Azkaban so it seems a waste of taxpayers' money. He smirked and the fuming Malfoy patriarch. "No all I want is the McGonagall Estate in Manor Cape Scotland."
That got people's attention the old Estate had been taken by Abraxas Malfoy as punishment for an unpaid debt from 97 years ago, the Malfoys had let it rot for decades before being ordered to keep it maintained at great expense.
The home and estate were transferred to Lord Black, who then transferred ownership to a very tearful and grateful Professor McGonagall before returning to wherever he went when he wasn't in public.
Director Amelia Bones informed him that she had replaced Barty Crouch as the Director of the DMLE when Crouch was forced to step down in shame. It came out that his son was a convicted Death eater, and he sent the heir to a family of the 28 to Azkaban without trial. He was lucky he didn't have a tragic accident courtesy of Lord Black.
Charles ended the session of the Wizengamot, making his way towards his office and his personal floo. He was distracted by the sound of someone calling his name.
"Minister, I do apologise for disturbing you but must speak with you." Came the voice of Delores Umbridge or (Toad lady) as harry had called her when he was sitting in his grandfather's office with his Uncle Padfoot.
Sirius of course held no sense of maturity whatsoever, and broke down laughing dragging a giggling 3-year-old harry to the floor, Charles looked to Arcturus who funnily enough had a small smile on his face, while Dorea just rolled her eyes at the two children (let's face it Sirius is a child).
"Junior Secretary Umbridge, what do you require please make it quick I wish to get back in time for my grandsons birthday." He told her as he couldn't stand the woman, she was an ass kisser and more than once had tried to flirt with him (never in the presence of Dorea Potter)
"Of course, Minister just to inform you that you received a message to meet an important member of the Wizengamot near the bank." She told him with a little smile before bidding him a good day leaving Charles concerned sending a quick message to his private security in the alley and one to the DMLE he went to the public Floo to the Leaky Cauldron.
Leaky Cauldron
London England
Saying hello to Tom, the barkeep, he made his way towards the back, opening the brick wall and walking into the alley. He smiled at the people and waved at those who waved or greeted him as he walked towards the bank.
"Avada Kedavra" was all Charles heard before he ducked to the left seeing a group of men in black cloaks cursing, he drew his own wand he took aim. "Bombarda! He yelled striking the first man despite the Protego he cast the sheer strength of the spell blasted the man and two of his friends backwards.
Charles was doing well until he felt searing pain as an additional hooded cloaked figure appeared behind him hitting him with a Crucio, even through the pain he was able to hit the coward behind him with a Glacius freezing him in place.
The others went to strike down the weakened Minister, only to be ambushed as Goblin Warriors from the bank and Potter Security forces struck with Vigor before he fell however the leader of the group truck with a Diffindo to the stomach.
"The Minister is down, get him to St Mungo's at once, Sgt send word to potter Manor put it on lockdown now!" the commander yelled getting a "yes sir!" from his subordinate just as Amelia Bones arrived with a group of her Auror's, her face frozen in horror at the site of the small battle and critically injured Minister.
Potter Manor
Lincolnshire
Dorea was shocked seeing Potter merceries flooding into the estate and manor itself. "Lady Potter the manor is on lockdown for your safety, you and the young master must head to the saferoom, everyone who is not a potter must leave the estate at once.
Letting Harry say goodbye, she took him in her arms as she rushed towards her husband's office, flanked by two guards. She placed her and Harry's hands on the Potter symbols engraved in the wall on the lefthand side of the office, letting them glow. The floor in front of the desk opened, revealing a set of stairs leading down.
The floor closed, and Dorea and Harry went down as the two guards took position at the office door. The estate went into full lockdown, its war wards coming to full strength.
At Hogwarts, Albus read the paper in shock before dropping it and making his way towards the wards to London.
Minister attacked in Diagon Alley!

Horror in Diagon Alley as Minister for Magic Lord Charles Potter is attacked by unknown assailants in broad daylight, before being subdued by Goblin security and Potter Private Security Forces they managed in critically injure the Minister.
As per the security act of the Ministry's Royal Charter Director Amelia Bones becomes interim minister for magic and the nation is placed under martial law.
This means that all international portkey stations and shut down Auror hit squads are mobilised and sent to every major magic settlement within our borders and if enacted during termtime, Hogwarts goes into lockdown all students are confined indoors.
There has been no word from the Potter family as the Potter Estate has gone into lockdown and is now guarded by Potter family security forces.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lady Dorea and young Heir Hadrian (Harry) James Potter and hope for the speedy recovery of our beloved Minister for Magic, who, under his leadership, our country has seen massive economic prosperity for the last 4 years.
DMLE Office
Ministry For Magic Building

"Commander Brown, surely you understand that the assassins are better in Ministry custody I must insist you turn them over so a proper investigation." Amelia watched as Rufus Scrimgeour her head Auror all but demanded.
He was a good man Rufus but a stickler for the rules something Commander Brown seemed to agree with. "Are you and Idiot Scrimgeour, a member of the Ministry handed Lord Charles that letter less than an hour later he is in St Mungo's Fighting for his life, not to forget your ministry has a bad track record when it comes to who's innocent and who's guilty".
Before Rufus could defend his and, to a lesser extent, the Ministry's honor, the Commander stood as his men stood, stating that they would hand over the criminals once they were interrogated and that Lady Ameilia and Master Auror Moody were welcome to be witnesses.
Needless to say, they appeased when they saw that the PMCs were not torturing them, they came to an agreement that once they got what was needed, they would be sent to the ministry for official reasons.
Potter Manor
5 days later
Harry was overjoyed as he saw his grandfather came home, he wanted to hug him tightly as he had been very worried but knew that he was only out of the hospital, he was also very angry when the Ministry said that Dolores Umbridge was found not guilty as she generally had received a message for the Minister.
Harry didn't care that the Toad Face had made an enemy of the 6-year-old Heir. Admittedly, most 6-year-olds would forget about things like this after a few months or years. Dolores would have no such luck; she had that unfortunate feeling of pure disgust and hatred she gave people.
Martial law was lifted that day, but Director Bones continued to act as acting minister until the Healers gave Charles a clean bill of health three weeks later.
Harry would spend the next few years learning everything he could from his Grandparents and Great Uncle Arcturus, while still learning to enjoy some free time with his friends but only those he truly trusted, a trait his friend Daphne would develop when she realised that many kids would try to befriend her to get close to harry.
She would gain the title at Hogwarts as the Ice Queen, and she would use it to her advantage. She and Harry's small group of friends would call themselves Harry Coven, much to a certain Dog father's Amusement. However, to the parents and guardians of the group, their minds started ticking on the political and Magical benefits should the group really form a Coven.
Authors Note: next chapter will be a time skip to when harry is 11 until next time.
