I watch as the guys inside sit around a campfire drink and joke around. I took out the two guards at the door easily. Paralyzed one while I got the other with my spear. Finished the paralyzed one off. Easy.
I listen in on their conversation to see if they reveal any new information. Mainly just their latest escapades they've had out in town. Looting, fighting, killing, taking women. It disgusts me.
"I heard the Executioner is back at it." I hear a young sounding guy say.
"Who's that?" Another asks.
"Well, I heard about a Jujutsu Sorcerer that works in the shadows and hunts curse users. They called her the Executioner." He says.
"Psshhh, no way. It's just a myth. Something to scare us into not doing what we wanna do." The other guys says.
"Well, I heard she's back and as ruthless as ever. Found a body in a shack yesterday, place was painted in blood, body was mangled." He says.
"Yeah well i'd like to see her try to get me." The other says.
I used their talking as cover while I moved up behind them in the shadows, keeping quiet until I was behind the guy who just spoke.
"Sure about that?" I ask in a whisper.
He goes to turn around and I grab his head and paralyze him. The guy opposite of him fumbles around for his weapon or to strike me either one, but I'm too quick and he's too drunk. I throw my spear and it impales his chest with a cracking sound on impact. He struggles to breathe for a second before his body goes limp. I retrieve my spear and head further into the warehouse.
I tread carefully as I reach a hallway. I walk past rooms with sleeping men in them. I go in each and take them out individually. Most of their forces are sleeping giving me the advantage. I take out the remaining men in the rooms and continue ahead to the managers office. Must be where the leader is at. On either side of the door is a guard, lazily standing watch. I'm coming up on their right side silently in the shadows.
The first guy doesn't hear me approach and I do a similar combination as I did earlier with the other two guards. I paralyze the first and stab the second through the throat so he can't scream. I hold him on the end of my spear as he slowly falls to the ground with a soft thud. The man I have in my arms I bring to the ground and snap his neck. I take the spear out of the man and prepare to enter the office.
I slowly open the door and look in all three corners clearing the room. I notice the window is open and the room is empty.
"Fuck." I whisper to myself.
I walk quickly to the window and look out trying to spot him anywhere with no luck.
Then, out of nowhere I'm hit over the head with something and I fall to the ground. I groan as I feel my head where I was hit and see blood on my fingertips.
"Thought you could sneak up on me? I have superior hearing asshole." The man behind me says.
I turn around and see he's a shikigami user. He uses a bow and arrows too. I smirk seeing the challenge.
"Well, seems i've got a good fight ahead of me." I say smirking and standing slowly, readying my spear and shield as I go.
He readies his stance and his shikigami, which looks like a Griffin type creature readies beside him.
The griffin will be difficult to deal with. He'll want to hide behind it and use it for a lot of his attacks. If I can make it past that and touch the man, then I can use brain dead to force him to stop using his ability. I don't want to totally paralyze him. I need answers first. Although I need to be careful just in case he's like Geto and is a strong fighter as well.
"Show me what ya got, Executioner." He says smiling.
I crack my neck and the Griffin shrieks as it runs toward me. I take a strong defensive stance and bring my shield up bracing for the blow. The creature brings his taloned hand up and strikes hard. It hits my shield and pushes me back a few feet. While he's down, I take the opportunity to strike. I stab the griffin in the neck and it shrieks in pain.
The Griffin shakes me off and sends me flying across the room. I groan in pain as I hit the wall and leave a huge dent in it. I stand back up and notice my spear is still in his neck, broken. The staff has broken off and is now only about a foot long. I can still work with that though. I just need to bait him to me.
"Get her!" I hear the man yell as he readies another arrow.
The man releases the arrow and I deflect it with my shield. I throw my shield down and brace again as the Griffin charges. I grit my teeth waiting for it to hit, but at the last second, I jump up high in the air and flip forward and onto its back. It tries to buck me and throw me off but I hold on with both hands tightly. It tries to scratch and bite me to get me off but i'm in its blindspot. I pull myself up as I'm getting whipped around reaching for my spear head. I grab the handle and smile. My plan is going to work out after all.
I yank it out and when he goes to buck I throw myself off behind him and run directly for the curse user. The creature is confused for a second and the man is surprised. He tries to run thinking maybe the Griffin will get me first, but I'm a fast runner. He runs out the door of the big office and through the hall. I chase after him and get closer and closer with each step.
The Griffin is on my tail though. I can feel its heavy breaths right behind me. It tries to take a swipe at my feet but it stumbled as it tried to strike.
The man runs out the door and into the main warehouse part of the building. I'm on his heels now. He looks scared. No one must have been able to get past his Shikigami yet. Not until now. I leap forward and turn around putting my spear head in the path of the Shikigami's face. If I fail, I have a shot of dismissing the creature. I reach behind me and grab the man's ankle bringing him down with me.
I smile as I feel him fall, "Brain dead." I say in a whisper.
The Shikigami fizzles into thin air right as its paw was going to slap me in the face. I only hold the technique for a second, long enough to force him to dismiss the Griffin. The man falls on his face and I fall on my back. I smile and stand up as he turns around confused. He crawls backwards looking terrified.
I'm drenched in sweat and am holding my spear head walking toward him. I chuckle as he backs up into the wall.
"Please, what do you want?" He asks.
I walk up to him and throw a hard punch to the side of the head. Blood covers my hand as I open a deep cut on his temple.
"Fuck!" The man yells in pain.
I grab him by the collar and pull him up to me effortlessly, "I want to know one thing, who do you work for?" I say angrily.
He spits in my face and head-buts me. It doesn't daze me too much but it adds to the blood running down my face. It splits my forehead open right above my right eye. Blood gushes down and my brow furrows. I see red, and tighten my grip. I head-butt him hard and drop him on the ground.
I drop to my knees and punch him hard in the face over and over. A thumping sound echos throughout the room as I pound him into the ground relentlessly. He whimpers as I do this and teeth begin to come loose from his skull. I rip my knuckles open and lose feeling in my hand toward the end, my blood mixing in with his. I throw the last blow and the man is barely conscious.
I grab him by the collar again and pull him up to me, "your leader, now." I demand.
"Okay, okay i'll tell you." He says sobbing, "his name is Hakari, and he works with a girl named Hoshi." He says putting his hands up in defeat.
"Hakari?" I say in disbelief.
That little shit.
"Yeah, he runs a fight club downtown. Lotta business runs through there." He says shaking, "please let me go."
"He giving you orders directly?" I ask.
"No! No, he knows people. Knows lots of people. Puts me in contact with people for different things. He mainly just runs the fighting club. Makes money from that mainly." He says.
"He know anyone named 'The Angel'?" I ask him.
"Well, if anyone would know it'd be him." He says.
Of course it has to be him.
"Your men, they've killed lots of people. Under your orders no?" I say in a low tone.
"I mean," he says be for I start beating him again.
I beat him until he's lifeless, and then I keep beating him after. He's long gone after a few hard hits, but I keep going unable to unsee the girl that man assaulted yesterday. Rage takes over my body and i'm unable to stop. I go until I exhaust my body. When I finish, I'm out of breath. I stand and pick up my spear head looking at it. It's not totally unusable, but it greatly reduces my reach. Guess i'll just have to use it as a dagger rather than a spear.
I look at the body of the man and spit on it in disrespect. I leave and look for my shield holstering it when I find it. I sigh knowing all of this was connected to Hakari. Asshole. I knew he was a loser. Especially after he got suspended.
I walk out of the warehouse and back toward the house Shoko and Niko are in. I need to clean up and ready up for this fight with Hakari. He knows The Angel. I learned about her through the rumors these degenerates were talking about a few days ago. She's a sorcerer gifted with the ability to nullify cursed techniques, even on objects. Unlike me who can only use it on people. She could, in theory, nullify the effect on the prison realm and release Satoru. But the trick is finding her. I've been going through this group trying to get to this guy this whole time. I kept hearing about his leader and his connections. They would talk about that being the reason they couldn't just take over the fight club. That and he was simply Hakari. He's a strong sorcerer, just a total idiot. But I figured if I got a name and location, it'd be worth asking for any info on the Angel.
He can help break Satoru out. Guess i'll have to lean on him a bit to enlist his help. I know he'll help get Satoru out. He loves Satoru just as much as the other students do. Now I just have to find him and negotiate his cooperation. I know he hasn't been a part of this killing. He has better morals than that. We taught him better. He's just trying to gamble and make a quick buck. Hence the reason why he was suspended. Idiot. Oh well, he'll listen to reason and help me find Angel. He has to...
