This is the 22nd chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
A Friend in Deed
At the top floor of the Sugarcube Corner where the bedroom was located, Pinkie Pie plays the music on the gramophone while putting on some workout clothes. She put on some blue and yellow striped exercise fore-hoof bands, some yellow leg warmers on her hind legs, a blue headband as well as yellow aerobic tank top and blue shorts. She also clipped on a teal belt around her waist.
"Let's do this!" Pinkie Pie said with confidence, looked like she's about to do an 80s workout.
Pinkie Pie is now at the baby's room, wiggling her tongue back in forth while jogging in place. She then made a wide smile before opening her mouth wide to wiggle her tongue some more.
"Happy, Sad! Happy, Sad! Happy, Sad!" Pinkie Pie repeated as she waved her fore-hoof over her face, changing facial expressions.
"Open, shut, open, shut, open, shut, open, shut!" Pinkie Pie repeated, blinked her eyes open and closed a few times.
"Yep, yep-yep-yep-yep-yep-yep!" Pinkie Pie said, raising her forelegs in the air and waved them from her right to left.
"Nope, nope-nope-nope-nope-nope-nope!" Pinkie Pie chanted as she raised her fore-legs in the air from left to right.
She's now sweating heavily as she grabs the baby's crib.
"Oooweooo, oooweooo, oooweooo, oooweooo, oooweooweooweoo!" Pinkie Pie chanted as she moved the crib up and down, blows a raspberry before she panted from exhaustion.
The Cake twins just glance at each other for a few seconds before turning to Pinkie Pie in annoyance with a pout. Pinkie Pie wiped her head and sat down, but didn't notice until it's too late that she had sat on some jacks. Once her flank was poked, she yelped and jumps high into the air, got spun around by the ceiling fan, and then rocketed toward a corner of the room.
She was sent tumbling into the large collection of stuffed toys. One toy after the other landed on her head. Pumpkin Cake babbled happily to her brother as he smiled and wrapped his fore-hooves over his head as the twins began to laugh and smile.
"Nailed it!" Pinkie Pie said with a hoof pump.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony
Ahhhh
My Little Pony
I use to wonder what friendship could be
My Little Pony
Until you all share this magic with me
Big adventure,
Tons of fun,
A beautiful heart,
Faithful and strong,
Sharing kindness
It's an easy feat
And magic makes it all complete
You all have my little ponies
Do you know all you're my best friends?
It was early sunrise the next morning as the rooster crowed to welcome the start of another beautiful day in Ponyville. A familiar cow was making her way toward Sugarcube Corner when Pinkie Pie poked her head outside of the entrance door.
"Morning, Daisy Jo." Pinkie Pie greets. "You're here to pick up some cookies to go with your milk?"
"Oh ya, Pinkie, don'tcha know." Daisy Jo replied.
Pinkie Pie hopped into her back as Daisy Jo shifted her body to make her bounce off behind her.
"Well, Mrs. Cake just baked a fresh batch of your favorite oatmeal." Daisy Jo said excitedly as Rose Lotus walked out of Sugercube Corner.
"Morning, Daisy Jo." Rose Lotus greets, walking past her.
"Mornin', Rose." Daisy Jo greets back as she walked inside.
While Pinkie Pie was trotting happily down the streets of Ponyville, Rose Lotus trotted past her mother.
"Bye mom." Rose Lotus said.
"Bye, Rosey." Pinkie Pie said when she stopped by the flower stand. "Oh, Rose, your Calla lilies look even better than last year! I bet you'll take first prize in the flower show again."
"Thanks, Pinkie!" Roseluck replied cheerfully. "Would you like one?"
"Absolutely." Pinkie Pie nods.
Roseluck then plucked off the flower of a Cala lily and tossed it towards Pinkie Pie, who caught it with her mouth and munched away. Pinkie Pie was the first to swallow her lily when she noticed an elder pony walking by wearing a large bow tie.
"Looking fit as a fiddle, Mr. Waddle, and you're wearing my favorite tie!" Pinkie Pie said with a wink, walk past him.
"Aw, shucks, Ms. Pinkie, your flatterer you." Mr. Waddle said with a blush.
Pinkie Pie continued on her way until Cheerilee approached.
"Well, happy birthday, Cheerilee." Pinkie Pie said.
"Thank you, Pinkie." Cheerilee replied as Pinkie Pie continued on her way.
"Happy day-after-your birthday, Zecora." Pinkie Pie told her.
"What a lovely hi, Ms. Pinkie Pie." Zecora replied.
"And Ms. Matilda, happy birthday to you." Pinkie Pie told the female donkey, who gave her a puzzled look. "In 122 days!"
"Pinkie Pie!" Matilda said, impressed. "How do you remember everything about everypony?"
"'Cause everypony's my friend and I love to see my friends smile." Pinkie Pie answered with a big smile, feeling a song coming up.
She walked down the street with a bounce to her step. As she sang, Pinkie Pie to various ponies walking by. Then, she saw a pony sitting on a lounge chair as she tilted the tree away so the pony was no longer under a dark shadow, making her smile at her.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
My name is Pinkie Pie
(Hello)
And I am here to say
(How ya doin')
I'm gonna make you smile and I will brighten up your day
It doesn't matter now
(What's up)
If you are sad or blue
(Howdy)
'Cause cheering up my friends is just what Pinkie's here to do
She walked over to some fillies looking very glum, stood in between them and pulled them with her. As she tossed them in the air, they landed on her back and then slid the slope next to some stairs, making the fillies cheer happily. Pinkie Pie jumped in the air and landed in some haystacks inside of a wagon that's being pulled by Big Mac. He quickly galloped off to give them a ride. Ponies saw them ride by with smiles on their faces. She then looked back and found the two fillies smiling widely at her. Then, she hopped out of the wagon, leaving the fillies to enjoy their ride.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
'Cause I love to make you smile, smile, smile
Yes I do
It fills my heart with sunshine all the while
Yes it does
'Cause I really need is a smile, smile, smile
From these happy friends of mine
A silhouette appeared next to Pinkie Pie, who continued to walk around. Pinkie Pie then went to jump rope with some fillies, then Scootaloo began to jump with her, followed by Dinky, then two other fillies joined in as they were all jumping rope together with the rope somehow turning all on its own. Two more fillies gave Pinkie Pie a hoof-bump.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
I like to see you grin
(Awesome!)
I love to see you beam
(Rock on!)
The corners of your mouth turned up is always Pinkie's dream
(Hoof bump!)
Apple Bloom sat alone in the distance with a spare jump rope next to her, looking rather glum. Pinkie Pie ran over to her as she sang and gave Apple Bloom a concerned look. Apple Bloom continued to look at the ground until Pinkie Pie scooped her up from below and used the single jump rope as Apple Bloom just enjoyed a ride on her head. The others just watched happily.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
But if you're kind of worried
And your face has made a frown
I'll work real hard and do my best to turn that sad frown upside down
She returned to town with six ponies following her with smiles on their faces. She then saw Applejack and Apple Shien trying to paint the barn and looking glum. She arrived as Applejack and Apple Shine showed her the wall that needed painting. Pinkie Pie then pondered before she grabbed a brush and together, they painted the barn wall with a picture of Pinkie Pie's head with a yellow sun surrounded by hearts. Applejack and Apple Shine smiled in approval for their job.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
'Cause I love to make you grin, grin, grin
Yes I do
Bust it out from ear to ear let it begin
Just give me a joyful grin, grin, grin
And you fill me with good cheer
The view darkens as Pinkie Pie walked around, looking rather sad as she sat alone in a forest area. Even her coat is a darker shade of pink. She then looked up to see...herself, standing on edge of the cliff. Except this Pinkie Pie was smiling and her coat was a bright shade of pink. The happy Pinkie Pie pulled up the sad Pinkie Pie, making her smile and brightened the color of her coat. She lifted her fore-hooves in the air as she continued to sing, followed by a raised fore-pump that made the other ponies appear around her.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
It's true come days are dark and lonely
And maybe you feel sad
But Pinkie will be there to show you that it isn't that bad
There's one thing that makes me happy make my whole life worthwhile
And that's what I talk my friends and get them to smile
She leaned to the left toward some smiling ponies and then leaned to the right. Then a crowd of ponies followed her from behind. Pinkie Pie then hopped from rooftop to rooftop with several ponies doing the same. Pinkie Pie then reappeared around the hopping ponies before heading back to the ground. As she walked along, a mother and her child smiled when they see her, including Mayor Mare and her assistants. She then appeared in the foreground.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
I really am so happy
Your smile fills me with glee
I give a smile I get a smile
And that's so special to me
'Cause I love see you beam, beam, beam
Yes I do
Tell me what more can I say
To make you see
That I do
It makes me happy when you beam, beam, beam
Yes it always makes my day
Then, the rest of the Mane 8 and the seven foals appears beside Pinkie as Applejack scooped her up. She continued to sing as her best friends, her godson, and her daughter paraded her down the street as confetti filled the air. Those watching the parade soon followed her from behind.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
Come on everypony smile, smile, smile
Fill my heart up with sunshine, sunshine
All I really need is a smile, smile, smile
From these happy friends of mine
Some ponies were popping out of the windows as they sang. Pinkie Pie jumped into the air and stood on her hind legs as the rest did the same behind her.
Choir and Pinkie Pie (Sings):
Come on everypony smile, smile, smile
Fill my heart up with sunshine, sunshine
All I really need is a smile, smile, smile
From these happy friends of mine
While the ponies linking fore-hooves as they stood, began to sway from side to side. Pinkie Pie sang a solo while the choir continued to sing and sway.
Pinkie Pie and Choir (Sings):
(Come on everypony smile, smile, smile)
Yes the perfect gift for me
(Fill my heart up with sunshine, sunshine)
Is a smile as wide as a mile
(All I really need is a smile, smile, smile)
To make me happy as can be
(From these happy friends of)
Top view of Pinkie Pie twirling on her hind legs as a ring of linked ponies danced around her.
Choir and Pinkie Pie (Sings):
Smile, smile, smile, smile, smile
Pinkie Pie finished her song with a smile.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
Come on and smile
Come on and smile
As Pinkie Pie finished her song, she found herself face to face with a brown donkey pulling his wagon into town. However, the donkey just glared as Pinkie Pie inspected him.
"I've never seen you before." Pinkie Pie said.
"Kid, you're smarter than you look." The donkey remarked as he started to walk away.
"Thanks!" Pinkie Pie replied, oblivious to the fact he's being sarcastic. "I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name?"
The donkey said nothing and just kept moving forward when Rose Lotus approached her mother, but notice the donkey is walking around town.
"Um, who's he?" Rose Lotus asks, looks at the donkey. "And by the looks of him, he seems a bit...cranky."
"Don't know, he doesn't smile much." Pinkie Pie said. "But I'm going to find out."
Then, Pinkie Pie walks past her daughter, who ponders about the donkey. Rose Lotus then has an idea as she finds somepony who knows him, but notice Matilda.
"Um, Ms. Matilda?" Rose Lotus called her, earned her attention. "Can you tell me about the donkey I just saw? He seemed cranky and..."
"Oh, you're talking about Cranky?" Matilda asks, earned a nod from her. "Actually, I know him and I'll tell you about it."
While Matila tells the gypsy pony about a certain donkey, Pinkie Pie headed toward the back of the wagon.
"'Property of C.D.D.'" Pinkie Pie read aloud. "I'm guessing that last 'D' is for Donkey."
"Quick as a whip, kid." Cranky remarked in a sarcastic tone.
"Now, how 'bout that 'C'?" Pinkie Pie pondered to herself. "Hmm...Calvin? Calhoun? Caleb? Carl? Carmine? Charlie? Chester? Chico? Claudio? Cletus? Clifford? Coraline? Cornelius? Cortez? Crank? Christopher-?"
As Pinkie Pie made her name guess, she's poking her head around him, making him more and more annoyed until he couldn't take it any more.
"Cranky!" Cranky snapped. "It's Cranky, alright?!"
"And your middle name?" Pinkie Pie asked, stood in front of him.
"Doodle." Cranky muttered so discreetly that nopony could understand him.
"I'm sorry?" Pinkie Pie remarked, hoping he would repeat himself.
"Doodle." Cranky said very quickly.
"One more time...!" Pinkie Pie requested since she still couldn't hear the name properly as she raised her fore-hoof to her ear.
"Doodle!" Cranky said a third time, nice and clear with a heavy sigh, making Pinkie gasped excitedly.
"So, you're Cranky Doodle Donkey?" Pinkie Pie said, once again, she began to sing.
Pinkie Pie bounced as she sang, got into his face, and then wrapped a fore-hoof around his neck.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
You're a Cranky Doodle Donkey guy
A Cranky Doodle Donkey
I never met you but you're my new friend
And I'm your best friend Pinkie Pie!
Cranky can only Pinkie Pie a glare.
"C'mon, now, Doodle, give me a smile!" Pinkie Pie said as she pushed the corners of his lips upward to make him smile.
It wasn't a second later that his smile went back into a frown, but his lips were stretched out, making him even more annoyed. Pinkie Pie looked disappointed at his lack of smile.
"Nopony calls me Doodle!" Cranky snapped angrily, making Pinkie Pie lean away nervously.
He then stomped off as Pinkie Pie quietly watched him walk away.
"What just happened?" Pinkie Pie asked herself when suddenly a felt diorama appeared with felt cut outs of her and Cranky. "Meet somepony new, check. Introduce myself, check. Sing random song outta nowhere, check. Become instant best friends...uncheck."
As she mentioned each item, each checked item had a green checkmark cutout place over it, except for the last item, which had a red 'X' placed on it.
"I don't get it." Pinkie Pie continued. "How can somepony not become instant friends with me? Was it something I said? Was it something I sang?"
She tried to think before she recomposed herself with a determined look.
"This is no time for the blame game, Pinkie!" Pinkie Pie told herself, grabs a notepad, and used her fore-hoof to write. "There's somepony new in town, and you need to win him over! Try everything you can to make Cranky smile and be your friend...Check!"
Cranky just quietly made his down the street when Pinkie Pie was watching him from the side of a nearby house.
"Alright, Pinkie. If you're gonna win Cranky's friendship, you're gonna have to bring your A game." Pinkie Pie told herself.
She then cupped one fore-hoof into the other to emphasize her determination.
"Let's do this." Pinkie Pie told herself as she zoomed ahead of Cranky and then bounced backwards so they're walking side to side.
"Howdy-doody Cranky Doodle." Pinkie Pie said cheerfully, but he keeps moving forward and ignoring her. She quickly recovered and got in front of him, walking backwards since he wasn't going to stop moving her. "So, uh, are you moving to Ponyville, Cranky?"
"What gave you the hint, kid?" Cranky asks in irritation. "The cart full of stuff, maybe?"
"Well, I'd be happy to show you around." Pinkie Pie said as she wrapped a fore-hoof around him and gestured at the surrounding area. "It's the least a new friend can do."
"Listen, kid." Cranky said sternly. "I traveled around Equestria my entire life. I've made many friends. I don't need any more."
"Gosh! I could never have too many friends." Pinkie Pie remarked as two ponies passed her and she waved hello.
"Well, why don't you go and make some more?" Cranky suggested.
"But I don't need to go when I can stay and make friends...with you." Pinkie Pie said as she tied his ears into a bow, but his ears unwrap themselves right away.
"Look kid, y-"
"Oh, Cranky, you can call me Pinkie." Pinkie Pie told him, cuts him off while batting her eyes. "All my friends do."
"Look, kid, I came to Ponyville for some peace and quiet and privacy, to be alone with my memories." Cranky told her sternly, getting to her face and making her bounce back. "All I want is to get my new home and unpack my stuff."
But as he was talking, Pinkie Pie headed over to his cart and hopped inside and started rummaging through his things.
"Ooh, what does this bauble do?" Pinkie Pie asks curiously.
"Don't touch that!" Cranky snapped.
"Ooooooh, what's this?" Pinkie Pie asks, grabbed an object that looked very similar to a court jester's stick and spun it around on top of her fore-hoof, making it fly away.
"Please, don't!" Cranky begged.
"Ooh, look at these!" Pinkie Pie commented as she held up a wind chime and brushes a fore-hoof against it to make it produce its musical chime and giggled.
"Pinkie!" Cranky snapped, swatted the wind chime out of her fore-hoof. "Keep your hooves off my wagon!"
"Okay, Cranky." Pinkie Pie said sadly as she turned to walk away, but then got an idea and dashed away.
Cranky snarled and kept moving. Pinkie Pie brings over a small wagon over to him.
"I promised not to touch your wagon, so I brought my own!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly. "I use it to welcome folks!"
"Who'd'a guessed?" Cranky remarked sarcastically.
"Maybe we can be wagon buddies!" Pinkie Pie proposed, but Cranky just turned away and kept moving. "Well, you gotta at least let me give you the special welcome that comes with it..."
Cranky stopped and turned around as Pinkie Pie gave him the sad eyes and puppy dog whimper. Cranky can only gave an irritated sigh and eye roll.
"Let's get this over with." Cranky groans with reluctance.
"That's the spirit." Pinkie Pie said and wasted no time pulling him right out of his harness.
She then pushed him over to her wagon and pressed a button to make the top open. Inside were some flags, trumpets, some cannons, and an oven. Pinkie Pie began to sing for the third time.
She bounced around and danced on her hind legs. Then put a party hat on his head and then blew a trumpet by sticking it through both his ears, making him cringe. She then danced back to her wagon and pose.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
Welcome, welcome, welcome
A fine welcome to you
Welcome, welcome, welcome
I say how do you do
Welcome, welcome, welcome
I say hip hip hurray
Welcome, welcome, welcome
To Ponyville today
"Wait for it." Pinkie Pie said slowly.
It was then some confetti blasted out of the oven into Cranky's face along with the party hat and his wig.
"Noooooo!" Cranky shouts in panic when the cannons shot out four glops of cake batter.
"Oh, silly me." Pinkie Pie said with a giggle as her eyes popped out of the cake batter. "I must've put the confetti in the oven and the cake in the confetti cannons! Again!"
Pinkie Pie giggled to herself as she pulled herself out of the cake batter so quickly that the batter retained the shape of a pony. She then gobbled it up in one bite.
"Mmm, still delicious!" Pinkie Pie said. "Try some, Cranky, it's sure to make you smile."
Cranky wasn't paying much attention. He seemed to be trying to look for something, but couldn't see because of the cake batter on his eyes.
"Oh, where is it, where is it?" Cranky said frantically.
"Where's what?" Pinkie Pie asked in confusion and then notice something black near her tail.
"He's looking for his wig." The voice of Rose Lotus said, earned her attention when she pulls the wig out. "Mr. Cranky! If you can hear me, I found the wig!"
Cranky was able to hear her voice, wiping the cake batter out of his eyes and saw the wig on Rose Lotus' fore-hoof.
"Thanks, kid." Cranky said, placing his wig on the top of his head and then walked away with his wagon.
"Mom, I don't know if you know this, but he's not much energetic like you. He's the opposite. He's very quiet and can be cranky if he's irritated too much." Rose Lotus told her mother.
"Huh? How did you about him?" Pinkie Pie asks curiously.
"I talk to Ms. Matilda about him." Rose Lotus answered, which Cranky stopped. "But like I said, Mr. Cranky is a very quiet guy and likes a quiet life."
Cranky can tell that the gypsy filly is right about him, but he never mentioned anything about Matilda. He decided to get some answers as he approaches the two.
"Kid, you said 'Matilda', right?" Cranky asks, earned a nod from her. "How did you know about her? And do you know where she lives?"
"I only known her for a while, and...well, she lives around here in Ponyville." Rose Lotus explains. "She told me you were friendly some times when you're with her, but can be cranky when you're irritated. And I'm really sorry for Mom. She means well, but she can go a bit overboard most of the time."
Pinkie Pie couldn't help but frown at her daughter since she made a valid point. Cranky is no better because he can only give Pinkie Pie a glare.
"But, if Matilda is here, can you take me to her?" Cranky offered.
"I can, follow me." Rose Lotus said as she leads Cranky, then turns to her mother. "Would you mind telling me what is going on when I left to get answers?"
"Well, I was trying to become friends with Cranky. I tried singing, I tried a welcome wagon, I tried to help, but nothing seems working." Pinkie Pie explains. "And he still not smiling."
"That's because he's trying to find a place to have some quiet time." Rose Lotus told her. "I'm pretty sure he's been traveling."
"I did, I've been traveling my entire life." Cranky interrupts, earned their attention. "But I came here to Ponyville for some peace and quiet and privacy."
Rose Lotus can only give her mother a smug face, earned a glare from Pinkie Pie.
"I really hate it when you're right." Pinkie Pie gritted her teeth, making Rose Lotus giggled.
"Which it brings me to my question, how is it you're able to put up with her?" Cranky asks.
"Well, it wasn't easy when I met her at first...I told her everything what happen to my family and my people." Rose Lotus said sadly.
"What happen to them?" Cranky asks.
Rose Lotus isn't feeling comfortable about telling him about her time as a human from India, and the massacre of her family and her people. Pinkie Pie noticed it and Cranky can tell that the gypsy filly doesn't like to talk about it, which it'll cause a serious trauma if she tells him.
"If you're not feelin' comfortable, I can respect that." Cranky assures her.
"No, it's fine...I'm sure it's bound to happen sooner or later." Rose Lotus said as she starts explaining.
45 minutes later
After Rose Lotus gives him a background story, Cranky was astonished. He felt very terrible for the gypsy filly going through so much pain.
"And that's how I came here." Rose Lotus finished her backstory.
"Kid, I'm sorry about what happen to your people, and what you've been through." Cranky said with sad sincere.
Rose Lotus nods with a sad smile, but Matilda approaches them and Cranky then looked up at saw her. It got Cranky stunned while Matilda smiled at him as some butterflies fluttered around her.
"It can't be...Is it really you?!" Cranky exclaimed.
"It can, and it is Cranky." Matilda replied.
"You lived in Ponyville...All this time?" Cranky asks.
"Yes, I live here." Matilda nods. "And I see you brought Pinkie and Rose."
"This kid led me to you, after she mentioned your name." Cranky told her. "Even though, I never told them about you."
"You didn't have to." Rose Lotus said. "It took a while to figure it out after Ms. Matilda told me about you, and those stuff you brought along. You were searching for someone during your travels, and it happen to be her."
"Yes, but there's more than that." Cranky said as he rummages through his wagon, pulling out his scrapbook as he opens it and shows it to the two along with Matilda. "You see, that night Matilda and I met at the Gala was the most magical moment of my life."
The scene then changed to black and white featuring some old time style music in the background. A younger Cranky and Matilda could be seen at the Gala. Matilda gave Cranky a kiss on a cheek, making him giddy and happy before they began to talk and look at each other lovingly.
"I couldn't wait to see you again, but when I came to your room the next day, you were gone."
His younger self went to visit younger Matilda's guest room, but notice she's not there and it made him sad.
"Didn't you get my note?"
But as soon as the younger Cranky closes the door behind him, the note floated off the door.
"No, I never got it. Ever since that day, I've gone from town to town to town, searching all of Equestria for you..."
Younger Cranky is seen visiting different several towns during his search. As time passes, he becomes less optimistic, older, and his hair starts to recede until eventually he's wearing the toupee and looking glum.
"...Until I finally gave up, I came to Ponyville to retire my search." Cranky said as the scene returned to the present.
Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus were listening to his story.
"I was living in Ponyville the whole time." Matilda said. I always hoped that someday you would come and find me...Doodle."
Pinkie Pie blinked as she rubbed her fore-hooves together and zipped over to her.
"Uh, Matilda." Pinkie Pie said. "Nopony calls him Doodle."
"Only Ms. Matilda calls him that, Mom." Rose Lotus told her mother.
"She's right." Cranky agrees. "Nopony...but Matilda."
Cranky and Matilda nuzzled each other's noses as Pinkie Pie smiles excitedly. Even Rose Lotus couldn't help but smile warmly.
"Oh, Doodle." Matilda said. "I'm so happy to see you again."
She then gave Cranky a kiss. Cranky blinked in surprise and began to bray for a bit. Pinkie Pie grew more excited as Rose Lotus just watch with interest. Then, Cranky gave one of the brightest smiles the two ponies have ever seen. Pinkie Pie gasped happily as she felt happy tears in the corner of her eyes while Rose Lotus held her close with a smile of her own. They're also standing on their hind legs together.
"Kid, I want to thank you and your mother for find Matila for me." Cranky said with genuine tone. "And I am honored to call you my friend."
Those words made Pinkie Pie's day as she smiled, and her body began to tremble. Rose Lotus backed away for a bit. Pinkie Pie rocketed into the air and exploded like fireworks in the evening sky.
"Woo-hoo! This is fantastic!" Pinkie Pie said as she jumped around and started talking and bouncing around like a pony who had way too much sugar. "Ooh, now we can hang out together and chat and sing songs and...party! Oh, I have to throw you guys a big party. It'll be called 'Welcome to Ponyville/I Found My Lost Love/I'm BFF's with Pinkie Pie'..."
But Pinkie Pie stopped when Rose Lotus cleared her throat with a stern glare, which it got her attention when the gypsy filly points at the two donkeys aren't paying attention to her.
"...Or maybe less over-the-top and not so super-hyper." Pinkie Pie said, settled down.
"Uh, Mom, I think you've already done enough for one day." Rose Lotus told her.
"Pinkie, we're eternally grateful to you and Rose Lotus." Cranky said with a smile. "But...Matilda and I just want to spend some time together in peace and quiet."
"Oh. Um, but we're still friends?" Pinkie Pie asked, worried about Cranky changed his mind.
"Pinkie, you went way, way, way out of your way to make me happy." Cranky said as he approached her. "Of course, we're friends."
"Great!" Pinkie Pie said Cranky and Matilda decided to walk away and head for a new home.
Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus smiled as they watched them leave. They then decided to head home as Pinkie Pie recited in a letter.
'Dear Princess Celestia,
There are many different kinds of friends, and many ways to express their friendship. Some friends like to run and laugh and play together. But others like to be left alone, and that's fine too. But the best thing about friendship is being able to make your friends smile.'
As Pinkie Pie recited her letter, she could be seen hopping with the other ponies on the rooftops. Then, Cranky and Matilda were seen at the new home, sharing a moment together. Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus just smiled as she began to sing.
Pinkie Pie (Sings):
He had a Cranky Doodle sweetheart
She's his cranky doodle joy
I helped the Cranky Doodle boy, yeah
I helped the Cranky Doodle boy
The two donkeys were about to share a kiss when Pinkie Pie started singing outside of the window.
"Pinkie!" Cranky and Matilda shouts with a glare.
"Whoops, privacy, sorry." Pinkie Pie said sheepishly.
That's it for the 22nd chapter.
I did some major adjusting to the episode, where Pinkie Pie kept driving Cranky crazy, destroyed his wig, and destroyed the scrapbook. So instead, I have Rose Lotus help Cranky find Matilda while preventing Pinkie Pie going overboard.
