Prologue:
King Clawthorne has outlived all of his family and friends. They have been dead for thousands of years, but he has never forgotten them.
He thinks of them every day. At this current time, he is sitting on a mountain, contemplating his life. He looked up into the sky, his head poking up above the clouds.
However, instead of the normal clear sky he had expected to see, he saw a huge object coming down. A monumental burning rock was shooting towards the planet. It looked big enough to potentially destroy everything, end all life.
King paused to calculate its course for a moment, and then started running across the globe towards its landing spot. He tried to use his power to blow it up, or push it off in another direction so it'd miss the planet. But his powers had failed him when he needed them most.
Nothing happened. He reached for it, and the asteroid hit his hand, completely shattering it and knocking him into the sea. It moved through his arm and struck his heart, decimating it.
King's collapse onto the ground caused a minor worldwide earthquake. Everyone instantly knew about his death. Even those who didn't know about him still felt that something had happened, like a piece of their world was missing.
The Collector was on the other side of the galaxy, but as King had sacrificed himself to save his world, he felt it. He knew exactly what had transpired. He looked towards the far planet, distraught.
"King..."
His siblings stared at him in confusion.
That was the end of the Titan species. No one would ever know why or how it happened.
They would never know that he saved their world at his own expense...
