Chapter 7: Trouble is Brewing

"Can't you handle it, Shippo?" Inuyasha said in a growl. "I'm fucking busy!"

"Unfortunately, I cannot." Shippo replied, not in the least bit frightened by Inuyasha's outburst - he was used to it and knew by now that Inuyasha wouldn't do anything to him that would cause any real harm. "Some shit is going down and I need you to meet me so we can discuss what to do about it."

Shippo's a fifteen-year-old boy who didn't have the best upbringing, both his parents were users, and both overdosed at the same time - they weren't able to survive, so Shippo lost both his parents at the young age of three. He then went on to live with his aunt, and though she wasn't on drugs, she still wasn't the best person to be in charge of his care. She used him as a slave and beat him relentlessly - one day beating him good enough that she left him on the side of the road for dead, thankfully Inuyasha found him before it was too late and saved him. Now, Shippo worked for him, not by force, and by using his fox demon magic he's able to go around and spy on people to either send people who's never used and wants to, as well as people who needs either money or protection in Inuyasha's direction. His skills are also used for spying on the people that Inuyasha thinks are double crossing him, Shippo's skills have come in handy in more cases than one and Inuyasha couldn't be more thankful to him for helping him in this way.

Inuyasha let out an irritated sigh as he ran his claws through his hair. "Okay, meet us at the usual spot." He said then hung up, he walked over to Sango and Miroku's room before knocking on the door. "We got to go, Shippo has bad news for us." He said before walking towards the front door.

Kagome was left breathless, unable to form a coherent thought until the she heard Sango and Miroku's door open, she shook her head clear of the fogginess before bringing her ripped shirt together to hide her naked breasts from view. She then stood up as she watched Miroku hop on one foot trying to put his shoes on as fast as possible, his button-down shirt was left completely unbuttoned as the button of his pants was left unbuttoned as well. Another minute later, Sango ran out completely dressed as she too headed for the door. She jogged to catch up to them before they could leave, stepping outside she realized that Inuyasha was waiting for Miroku to make himself look more presentable.

"Uh, Inuyasha?" Kagome whispered making Inuyasha look at her, however, before she could say anything, Inuyasha started walking in her direction wrapping his hand gently around her neck and pushing her up against the house before crushing his lips against hers in a heated kiss that made her weak at the knees, luckily the wall behind her and Inuyasha's hand on her throat were enough to keep her on her feet.

"If you get home first, I'd better find you waiting in my room, pretty girl, if I get home first, I will be waiting for you - we have things to talk about before we go any further, do you understand?" Inuyasha asked in a husky whisper that sent chills of absolute delight up and down Kagome's spine.

"Yes, I understand." Kagome answered in a breathy whisper.

"Good girl." Inuyasha said as he rewarded Kagome with another kiss.

Kagome had never been talked to like that, no one ever demanded her of anything or called her a good girl let alone a pretty girl, she was surprised at how turned on it made her.

"Can I order parts for my car?" Kagome asked Inuyasha when he pulled his lips away from her.

Inuyasha clicked his tongue. "Now, what have I told you, pretty girl?" He asked as he pushed his body up against hers making her breath hitch in her throat. "Good girl." Inuyasha said as he dropped her leg and moved away from her body. Kagome let out the breath that she didn't know she was holding as he stepped away, however, she surprisingly missed his body against hers and wanted to forcefully drag him back against her. Although, that feeling changed as soon as she saw both Sango and Miroku standing with their backs to them, and she wanted to absolutely die from embarrassment as she jerked her ripped shirt closed again hiding herself from the others. "If you can't get your car to start you may use one of my back up cars so you can go visit Hiro." He said as he walked away from her to his car with both Sango and Miroku following him.

"He's going to be the death of me." Kagome whispered to herself as she watched Inuyasha's car speed out of sight. Once she got both her breathing and her heartrate back to where they were supposed to be, she walked back inside to go into her room and change her ripped shirt before jogging to her car. She opened the hood and started tinkering around as she searched for what could be the problem, finding a few causes for way her car wouldn't start, she closed the hood before taking her phone out of her pocket and ordering the parts she would need then repocketed the phone as she headed towards the garage to choose the car she wanted to drive for the day.

Settling on a black BMW, Kagome slid in, started the car and drove off towards the hospital.

Walking in Hiro's room, which was still in ICU because they wanted to keep an extra close eye on him before the moved him back to his old room, Kagome smiled when she saw his million-dollar smile stretch across his face.

"How you are feeling today, baby?" Kagome asked as she took a seat in the chair next to Hiro's bed.

"I'm feeling better today." Hiro said with a smile. "They said if I stay like this by the end of the day then I can go back to my regular room."

"That's great Hiro!" Kagome said as she felt tears threaten to escape past her eyelashes. "That makes me so happy!" She said as she wiped at her eyes with the back of her hands.

Hiro reached over and grabbed ahold of Kagome's hand as she tried to get a handle on her emotions. "Was that guy with the long silver hair that you were with the last time your boyfriend?" He asked once she was done tearing up.

"Well, actually, he's now my husband - we got married right before you went into your coma." Kagome said. "I was going to bring him to meet you today, however, he had a work emergency that needed to be handled - so I'll bring him tomorrow if I can. I think you'll like him, he's pretty great."

"Is he treating you right?" Hiro asked with a serious look daring his mom to lie to him.

"Oh, Hiro," Kagome said with a dreamy smile on her face, "he's treating me better than I've ever been treated before."

Hiro nodded in satisfaction. "Good, I was gonna hafta hurt him if he wasn't."

Kagome laughed as the nurse came in with Hiro's next treatment round.

The treatment, as it normally did, made Hiro extremely tired and he soon fell asleep.

Arriving at the old warehouse that was used to hold most of Inuyasha's merchandise as well was used for important meetings he didn't want to have the chance to be overheard by anyone.

"What's going on, Shippo?" Inuyasha growled, not in the best of moods.

"For starters, I overheard some of your clients talking about going through a different distributer - someone is trying to put you out of business, boss, but I don't know who - though my theory is Naraku." Shippo said. "The clients that were talking about it said that what they get usually is cheaper getting from the new distributor rather than getting from you."

"Fuck!" Inuyasha growled as he thrust his hand through his hair. "Yeah, sounds like something Naraku would try to pull!" This was bad, if the guy trying to fuck Inuyasha over won and got Watannabe and Koga on his side then he would be sunk and most likely behind bars - he had to figure out who was doing this and fast. "Anything else?"

"Yeah, there was someone with them telling them that they found five bodies that had died from a bad batch of drugs and reminded them that they never had a problem with the drugs they've gotten from you and told them that they should just stick with you instead of the new dealer." Shippo said.

"Bodies?" Sango asked, shit this really was not good - sure, what Inuyasha did for a living didn't necessarily grant people with longer life spans, but he made sure that his shit was of good quality before he handed it out and made sure that his people were good and made sure they knew the dangers of overdosing. He wanted to keep his business going, not kill off his clients that were bringing him good money.

"Yes, bodies." Shippo confirmed with a nod. "There's one more thing."

"What is it?" Miroku asked really not liking the sound in Shippo's voice.

"One of them got a call from the new distributer, I think the dude that got the phone call is working with him now, which he put it on speaker, so I was able to hear what they were saying." Shippo said.

"And what were they saying, Shippo." Inuyasha growled as he pinched the bridge of his nose, he was really losing his patience - he wanted to get back to Kagome and finish what they started.

"That they wanted to overthrow, and by overthrow - I mean kill, you and the other bosses of the city and rule the city themselves." Shippo explained.

That surprised Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango this city is huge, and try as they might - there wasn't a boss alive, or dead, that could have run this entire city by themselves. That reason alone was enough for the very first boss of the city to divide the city into four equal parts and equipped that part of the city with its very own mob boss.

"It's impossible to run this entire city by oneself." Miroku said.

"Yeah, I know, which is why I don't know why this guy is willing to try." Shippo pondered as he rubbed his chin.

"Is that it, Shippo?" Sango asked.

"For now, it is." Shippo said with a nod.

"We're leaving then." Inuyasha said as he turned on his heel and headed for the exit with Miroku and Sango following after him.

"What are we going to do about this, Inuyasha?" Sango asked not liking not knowing who was doing this and when they were going to strike next.

"Once we find out who's really doing this, we kill them." Inuyasha said as he drove away from the warehouse.

Kagome made it home before Inuyasha did, so she did as he told her and went into his room to wait for him. While she waited, she wandered into his bathroom and took a quick shower, she used his shampoo and conditioner, she even dressed herself in one of his shirts when she was dried off. His shirt came down to her knees, so she didn't bother putting on anything under it. She then crawled on Inuyasha's bed and sat in the center as she waited for him to come home.

It was about an hour after she got home that Inuyasha stepped into his room, his eyes landed on Kagome, and he growled in deep approval of the attire that she was wearing. "I see that you're very good at following directions, pretty girl." All of his anger forgotten for the time being as he saw his Kagome sitting on his bed like the good little girl she was.

"Do you want me to run you a warm bath?" Inuyasha asked as he ran his claws along her cheekbone.

"No, not right now, I just want to stay here in your arms and go to sleep." Kagome said.

Inuyasha nodded as he laid back down and pulled her close to him as they both drifted off to sleep.
