(12 years later)
The war council of the Seedrian Empire was made up of some of the most competent military leaders in Galactic history…It was made up of the leaders of the Warhosts, great armies hundreds of thousands strong each…The bloody right hand of the Seedrian Emperor and his chosen troops on the field of battle…
While there were indeed only five Warhosts, that was all the Seedrian Empire needed, through their rigid command structure their Commanders could entrust their subordinates to lead separate campaigns to great effect while they were occupied elsewhere…
In the twelve years since the Rusani War each of them had been determined to swell their ranks once more to ensure the security of the empire they held so dear to each of their hearts, so the Emperor…Lucas's boost in military spending was a welcome gift…As well as his leadership to begin with.
He had fought side by side alongside each of them, back to back against the animal invaders, carving out legends that would be passed down for generations…Of how each of them resisted and overcame the brutal Rusani forces with bravery, nobility and zeal…They were also Lucas's closest friends.
Each of them stood in the throne room of the Seedrian palace, clad in their battle armour, their helmets resting under their arms…Each of them was clad in a unique set of armour, each in a different colour, signalling their Warhost colour. Red, black, yellow, pale blue and moss green…
Lucas stared down each of them with cold and composed eyes, unlike them he was proudly wearing his crested helm and war plate, now more ornate in colour, trimmed with gold and embroidered with white cloth bearing black floral patterns tying him to Seedrian culture, Beast-Cleaver resting at his side and in his hand…a glowing pink rock, no bigger than a mere tennis ball.
"Now, my friends…I suppose you may be wondering as to why I have summoned you here from your regular duties."
"Yes…We are Lucas, what is the meaning of this?"
The first of the Commander's stepped forth, his hornet yellow, ornate battle-plate indicating his command over the fourth Warhost, he stood a full head and shoulders taller than the others in the chamber, even dwarfing Lucas in size…His face was scarred and weather beaten, a mane of pale green, leaf-like hair flowing from his head and his eyes a forest green…His skin was tan and the antler like growths on the side of his head were shorter than the rest of the commanders, they were straight and seemingly cut short…
His voice was brash too, like the harsh barbaric tone of a drill officer or an overly strict policeman…It was brash, harsh and seemingly dripping with anger…Lucas grinned underneath his helmet, he was still the same headstrong oaf he had always been, brutally effective of course, but hardly the tallest tree in the forest.
"Calm yourself Decimus, I assure you I did not take you away from your warriors for no good reason…Let me ask you something, have you ever heard…Of a Planet Egg?" the Emperor said in a cool tone.
Each of the commander's looked back towards one another, looking for knowledge from each other but finding none…Another one of the Commander's spoke up, the shortest of the five of the war council and wearing ornate and elegant mossy green armour signalling his roots in the fifth Warhost , accented by glowing orange glyphs and floral patterns like the rest of his kin.
His face was youthful and boyish in appearance despite the age of the Commander, with no visible horns on his head, his skin ash coloured and his purple leaf-like hair short cut, his left eye was glowing a deep amber, the pale and blind, a thin scar running down the side of it, signalling how it had been lost on the field of combat.
"No my lord, however I have to confess I'm not sure if whatever you are suggesting is the best idea…If it is some kind of weapon you should have told us sooner." He spoke with a twinge of irritation in his voice.
"Oh Diomedes, calm yourself…I had no idea what I was either…Until a few days ago…You see…In my hands, is the life force of the very planet we stand on…Every man, woman, child, animal, tree, flower, even microbes rely on this very thing for life…" The emperor stood up from his throne, tossing the planet egg towards them…Decimus caught it in one of his gargantuan power fists…He looked down at the small object…It was a small glowing gem…no bigger than a tennis ball…Yet the Commander of the Fourth could feel so much raw…power emanating from it…
His small beady eyes looked deep into the gem, he saw…so much, he could see…He could see…He didn't even know how to describe it, it was like watching all of space time unravelling before him like a book opening it's pages, it was entrancing him deeply…
"Fascinating…"he whispered.
His concentration was broken however when it was snatched out of his hands by a dark clad Seedrian…This one's armour was a purplish black in colour, with a lighter purple visor that was dome shaped, the Commander's colours showed he was the leader of the second Seedrian Warhost…A billowing purple cloak flowing behind the warrior, his face was pale and stretched in an arrogant, condescending sneer of disapproval, he flicked his black leaf-like hair behind him as he looked upon the gem.
"I don't see how this little bauble can be of any value to us against the uncivilised Rusani. I thought you were better than this my liege." He said, smirking.
"That…"Little bauble" is worth more to the empire than all five of you combined Cassius…It holds great power and is the very reason why we have been able to construct a paradise from the world around us…But…I think we can make it better…Make ourselves better." Lucas said, standing up from his throne, hand outstretched, awaiting for the Planet Egg to be returned to him.
Cassius looked down at the gem, snorted and tossed it at the Emperor, turning his tail and moving towards the exit of the palace.
"I have no patience for your little fairy tale expectations for that pitiful little gem. I must get back to my men." He said in a self absorbent tone, however…He then felt…an absolutely agonising pain in his heart.
It felt as If white hot needles were penetrating every single inch of his flesh down to the bone and he collapsed to his knees in agony, not even being able to scream in pain…Only being able to turn his head and see the Emperor standing there, one arm behind his back, the other grasping the Planet Egg in his armoured fist, his emotions impossible to see under his crested helm, all the while the other Commander's looked at him with terror and fear in their eyes, like lambs in the presence of a wolf.
"I wouldn't say that, if I were you Cassius…Believe me, with all the Planet Egg can give…It can also…take away." Lucas said, his grip on the orb tightened and then Cassius felt the pain grow even worse and more severe…
He was sprawled out on the palace floor now, his face twisting in absolute agony, feeling as if he was being vivisected alive from the inside out, like his organs were being blended and destroyed…
Decimus turned to Lucas with intimidation in his tone,
"My lord, please…Stop this!"
Lucas didn't even so much as acknowledge the worried voice of his subordinate, he just kept watching, staring at Cassius as he writhed in pain…Almost as if he was enjoying it, soaking it, breathing it in like a predator playing with it's food…
"My lord, please this is cruel!" Diomedes spoke up, nervously looking upon Cassius's face.
This time Lucas did give a brief look towards the Commander of the fifth and tilted his head slightly, as if he was confused as to why he would say such a thing…However he relinquished and loosened his grip on the Planet Egg…
Cassius hissed as he felt the white hot pain slowly begin to dissipate, rising to his feet and facing his emperor, with both anger and slight terror in his eyes.
"What in the name of Gaia's green realm was that?!" he exclaimed…Backing away intimidated.
Lucas looked down upon the Planet Egg…Then at his horrified generals…And he smirked under his helm.
"This…My friends…This is our key to victory over the Rusani! Now…Hold still all of you…"
…
Earthia looked upon the Bracken and grinned proudly…
It was a truly magnificent diplomatic vessel, well over a kilometre in length and 500 meters in width and designed in the typical arrowhead shape as most Seedrian vessels, it's outer hull covered in a gorgeous glass like material known as Fianite, a native metal to the Seedrian Empire known for it's head resistance and of course it's natural beauty.
She was looking forward to her next round of diplomacy with the Rusani Federation, as Emperor's consort she had more sway and power over the terms than she ever had when Tyrion had been in charge which meant she could finally start making a positive change in the galaxy and to make it better, she would be able to bring along her two daughters, Galaxina and Cosmo with her, the pride of her life…And hopefully be able to teach them how to become great diplomats and politicians in their own right, it was only befitting girls of their stature.
Galaxina was the older of the pair, being now a sarcastic and rebellious sixteen year old who certainly took after her father in more ways than one, being headstrong, brave and more than a little prone to angry outbursts…She appeared to inherit her looks unlike her little sister who she guarded fiercely, like a lion over it's cubs…If anything she acted pretty much like a second mother to Cosmo, being there for her when she was off on diplomatic missions for weeks and sometimes even months at a time.
Speaking of Cosmo…She couldn't be anymore different than her sister…She resembled her grandmother a lot more than she did her own mother, both in character, temperament, appearance and hobbies. The twelve year old was naturally rather shy and not very comfortable around large groups of people, especially if either Earthia or Galaxina wasn't around, what terrified her even more however was breaking the rules and getting into trouble…She would break down crying if she even thought she had done something wrong…Something that her sister would often comfort her for.
She was also an extremely clumsy yet exceptionally lucky young girl, the type of person who could end up in a severe car crash that would kill someone like you or I yet come out completely unharmed…It was a trait that utterly bamboozled Earthia, Galaxina and her father Lucas at times and quite rightfully so, her sister often joking how she had the favour of the old gods of Greengate.
The young Seedrian was the antithesis of her family in terms of personality, being the undisputed black sheep of the family, yet they still absolutely adored her nonetheless…
She had also just slipped down the steps leading up to one of the Bracken's numerous entrances, tumbling with a loud crash and face-planting onto the cold floor beside her mother, the small book on gardening she had been holding, sprawled out beside her.
Earthia face palmed slightly, turning to her daughter who was groaning slightly in pain,
"Cosmo get up, I don't want you getting muck on your dress before we set off for Rusan" she said in a stern motherly tone.
The girl let out a weak and muffled,
"Yes mother…" before dragging herself to her feet…Wiping down herself of any dust and dirt that could have gotten on her during her tumble down the stairway…
She was dressed in the appropriate manner for any respectable Seedrian lady of noble birth like her, that being a long sleeved dress with a white petal skirt and tights smart green shoes and her emerald green leaflike hair that had been cut a bit shorter than her sister's long flowing locks was in proper condition: neat, clean and well combed…As well as the gem.
Every female Seedrian was given a specified gemstone when they were born and it would be required for them to wear them through their entire lives, from birth to death…The reason as to why was very ancient indeed…Going back to one of the myths of old Greengate...Nobody knew the exact story as to why wearing the gem was a necessity for all Seedrian Women, some said it contained the soul of the woman within it's gem, some said that they brought good fortune and favour when worn…But no matter what the reason was for Seedrian women being recommended to wear them…All that mattered was that it was worn and Cosmo was no exception to this rule.
Her own was beautiful, being an oval shaped and ruby red clear cut beauty, befitting of her noble stature and at the moment it was fastened to her dress, giving it an even more luxurious and fashionable look as it matched what many other Seedrian girls considered to be a rather ideal look.
"Right, at least you got nothing on you…Where's your sister?" Earthia asked sternly, once again incorporating a motherly and strict tone.
The young Seedrian picked up her gardening book, dusted it off with one hand and clutched it tightly to her chest, smiling as she answered,
"She's looking for her dormitory on the ship, she says she wants to have a large room with a good view."
"Oh, does she now? Well you can tell her she can get her backside right here this instant, I decide where she sleeps, not her!" Earthia exclaimed, that girl's rebelliousness could really grind her gears at times…Room with a view, hah! Little did she know that the journey was only going to take at least 2 Greengate days with hyperspace travel.
Cosmo scurried off up the steps once more, going off to tell her sister of what her mother wanted, slightly tripping up on her steps but not falling as she went.
Earthia allowed a smile to spread across her face, watching her daughter rush off to tell her sister the bad news about her supposed "accommodations" allowing her mind to wind back when she was there age, when things felt…Simpler, happier, merrier, before the damned Rusani war…
She had met Lucas during those years, a young, fresh faced and ambitious Seedrian Prince who was obsessed with becoming the "greatest warrior the galaxy has ever seen!" and despite that, the two were able to become fast friends and would eventually marry each other…That was supposed to be the end of it, they should have been able to bring up their children in peace and be able to enjoy the rest of their lives on this paradise world…But sadly it was not to be.
The Rusani had declared Seedrian military vessels foolishly shot down a civilian vessel belonging to the Rusani mistaking it for some kind of pirate ship…In the place of a few hundred civilians, the Rusani killed billions of Seedrians in their stead…Entire worlds were rendered uninhabitable and were reduced to dead, grey planets inhabited only by bombed out ruins and corpses.
And to think it was these times that the two had decided to have their children…The galaxy was a cruel place and Earthia assumed it must have been desperation or fear or whatnot, that if they were going to have children it may as well had been when Greengate was still away from the fighting and if they fell, they would at least die together as a family.
So when the opportunity to end the war and sign a peace treaty arose, she and Lucas's father had jumped at the opportunity and signed it, allowing a handful of systems in the outer reaches of the empire to become Rusani territory in exchange for bringing an end to the damnable conflict that had killed so many of each of their kind…Much to Lucas and the military's ire.
It deeply saddened Earthia, knowing how troubled Lucas had been and still was with the peace treaty…He may not have expressed it and pretended to be happy that It was all over upon his return…But she was his wife, she could tell when he was lying to her…It went against his code of honour to surrender to what he saw as "lesser beings" and whenever the mere mention of the Rusani was brought up, she saw a spark of anger in his normally calm and loving features…He was bitter over it, extremely bitter.
The discovery of the Planet Egg had only troubled him even more too, he would stay up all night sometimes with the accursed gem in his hands, looking into it…Pondering and thinking, like it was some damn holo-vid…It was also beginning to…affect his judgement…In the first 6 years after Cosmo was born and the war had ended he was fine, but after next six he was…Off, he was more irritable and brash than he usually was and while he was never downright cruel to them or to anyone else he could come off as abrasive and even rude at times…The Planet Egg was doing something to Lucas, she didn't know what it was doing to him exactly, but it couldn't be good in the slightest.
Her train of thought was interrupted by a male Seedrian donned in the typical muted grey battle plate that all Seedrian warriors wore, the trim of his armour was crimson in colour, designating him to be a warrior from the third Warhost, Earthia smiled as she recognised the warriors face. He was also rushing towards her.
"Ah Landar, it's good to see you! How's-"
"Lady Earthia, It's good to see you too…However I need to tell you something, your husband wants to see you…He says it's extremely important that you come and see it before you leave for the Rusani…He said to leave the girls here while you talk to him." Landar spoke, nervousness etched across every inch of his face…He looked…Scared almost.
All colour drained from Earthia's face…She had a bad feeling about this and in the back of her mind she could feel the urge to run, to run away and never look back and get to the Rusani…Yet despite that, Lucas was still her husband and she would always be there to talk to him, that was the oath she had made and it was an oath she intended to keep.
"Show me to him." She said in a cold and serious tone. She yelled up at the ship,
"Chrysanthemum! Tell the girls I'll be back soon!"
…
Landar felt a bead of sweat run down his pale face as they approached the gargantuan doors to the Imperial Throneroom, the young lieutenant of the 3rd company could feel fate's breath tingling on the back of his spine…He had a strange feeling he would die this day…His amber yellow eyes were glassy and filled with anxiety and fear…
He turned to his side to face Earthia, her expression was calm, composed and nigh emotionless…However her eyes told a different story, within them Landar could see…Pain, sadness and fear too…To see such a close friend in such a state felt wrong…Landar was an in law relative to the Ironvine dynasty, marrying into the family after becoming betrothed to Daisy…the older cousin of Cosmo and Galaxina and Earthia's niece…The two had a good friendship together and had known each other for more than a few years, so to see his aunt in law be so…Cold sent a shiver down his spine.
The great doors opened with a loud creak and the sight both of them saw inside was…Unsettling…
All of the plant life in the throne room was…Wilted and dead instead of lushious and filled with life…It was as if somebody had sown the ground with salt and denied the poor things sunlight…Seedrian's could feel the life from plants due to being them themselves…Yet both Landar and Earthia could feel…Nothing from them…Every flower, every vine, every individual blade of grass was…cold…lifeless and dead…
The smell too was rather unsatisfactory, being the deeply unpleasant smell of rotting vegetation and decay which made sense considering the unsettling sight before them…And then…They saw…Them.
"Ah…Earthia my darling…It is good to see you…" Lucas said, sitting back calmly upon his throne, carrying the Planet Egg In his armoured right hand…
He was fully donned in his battle plate that glowed with unnatural purple light, beast cleaver sat idly at his hip, glowing like it's master with a baleful purple light however…Her husband wasn't the only one there…
Each of the five Warhost Commanders stood beside his throne, all bar Diomedes fully armoured in their war plate, the visors of their helms making them give an intimidating stare as their faces were impossible to read…Each of them was glowing too with baleful power…Their auras matching the colour of their armour...And each of them, bar Diomedes was brandishing their weapons I their hands.
Janus Whitethorn of the first Warhost stood there with the famed dual heat blades Neck Biter and Bloodthirster in hand, their white hot and nigh impossibly sharp edges glowing in the light. Cassius Dimstem stood beside him…His ebony black armour glowing with an otherworldly royal purple aura and in his right hand he held the Narcissan staff, a mirror headed polearm that served as both a badge of office within the ranks of the 2nd Warhost and a lethal weapon on the battlefield.
Then on the opposite side of the throne there stood Romulus Bloodleaf, the proud Commander of the Third Warhost…His armour was a blood red in colour and was just as ornate as the rest of his kin, his horned helm giving him an intimidating, demon like aura, in his hands rested the Sanguis Potator, a large one handed heat axe who's edge had sliced many Rusani necks over the course of the war.
Beside Romulus was Decimus Rockfist who stood proudly in his hornet yellow armour, his kinetic fists crackling with black lightning, the green visor and mouth grilled horned helmet he wore making him seem even more terrifying than he was out of his armour…And finally stood Diomedes Nobleroot, the Commander of the Fith Warhost who curiously wasn't glowing at all, nor was he wearing his helm…In his one working eye Earthia saw…Shame…And fear even, just what had Lucas been doing?
"What's going on Lucas…What have you done? Why are the plants dead?" she asked, worry lacing her tone.
"Oh Earthia my dear, do not worry about them…They were a necessary sacrifice to achieve the perfection you see before you."
"What do you mean…"
"What? Don't you see it Earthia…With the power of the Planet Egg…We can become faster…Smarter…Stronger…Better! So what if the life force of a couple of Plants must be drained to achieve this perfection!" Lucas said in an eccentric voice…An eccentric voice that was laced with utter insanity…
Earthia gestured to the dead plants around the throne room and cried out in dismay,
"You've been stealing the life force of plants and adding it to your own?!"
"Why yes, it's a fair bargain to me…Some worthless plants get their life forces sucked out and get added to our own…And in return we receive…Power, power unlike anything any Seedrian has ever wielded!"
"But Lucas…This is…This is evil! Pure evil!"
"It's a necessary evil if we are to ensure our victory over the mongrel animals of the galaxy!" Lucas yelled back, standing up from his withering throne and marching towards his wife.
Earthia despite being terrified of what her husband was saying refused to back down and took a step forward herself and yelled angrily.
"ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU'RE STEALING THE LIFE FROM OUR PLANET TO COMPLETELY WIPE OUT THE RUSANI FEDERATION! ARE YOU REALLY THAT PETTY?!"
Lucas only chuckled darkly, approaching her slowly and saying in a malevolent tone,
"Oh Earthia my precious little flower…It's not just the Rusani I want to destroy…It's all animals and their ilk in the galaxy…They are primitive savages who freely burn, murder, plunder and rape their way across the galaxy like the parasites they are…Don't you remember Rountree and Vargos my dear? How they were wiped clean of life down to the last man, woman and child? It is time their kind pay the price for their transgressions against the plants of the galaxy…Every…Last…One of them."
"You're willing…To put hundreds of thousands…If not millions of worlds to the torch just because of the actions of one civilisation?! HOW DARE YOU! YOU'RE JUST AS BAD AS THEY ARE!"
Earthia then felt a horrible pain bloom across her body as she felt herself be struck by her husband's armoured fist…Sending her crashing backwards to the floor below…
He had hit her…Her husband…Had just hit her…The shock from the blow overtook her mind as she slowly rose to her feet and faced her husband who was wiping the sap from his fist…Even through the visor of his helm, she could tell he was looking at her with nothing but scorn and loathing.
"DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT TO ME YOU COWARDLY WHORE! I WAS NOT THE ONE WHO SOLD OUT THE HONOUR OF OUR EMPIRE WHILE OUR MEN BRAVELY FOUGHT AND DIED WITH AGONY ON THE FRONTLINES! ANIMALS ARE NOTHING BUT A PEST WHO NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED AND I WON'T LET ANYONE STAND IN MY WAY!"
Earthia felt tears welling up in her eyes as she whispered to the man she still loved…
"But what about your family…What about Galaxina and Cosmo Lucas? What about Tyrion?...Does nothing we have and what he did matter to you?..."
Lucas merely scoffed…
"I killed my father Earthia Rosacea! The cowardly wretch had to pay for his weakness…And as for the girls…Heh heh…I have special plans for them! In fact, I've already been able to turn them into my unwilling servants…Without them so much as knowing."
Earthia…Already horrified with what he had said first…Grew mortified at the second, her heart freezing and her sap turning to ice,
"You did what?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE GIRLS?!" she screamed…However she then felt another horrible new pain explode across her body as another blow struck her in the abdomen, sending her flying through the air, even bursting through the thick doors of the Imperial throne room itself…Sending her crashing into the soft mud of the gardens outside…
Earthia could feel agony all over…Her vision blurry and her ears ringing…She slowly clambered to her feet, clutching her amulet and whispering a prayer for protection as she saw Lucas and his commanders come striding out along with him…Diomedes's face wrought with guilt and sadness as he saw her so injured…Landar rushed out of the throne room, running past them and to Earthia herself…wrapping an arm around her for support.
"Leave her Lieutenant Landar…She defies the will of Prince Lucas!" Romulus called, his voice raspy and apathetic, almost robotic in it's tone.
Landar didn't care and tried to sway Earthia away from the Commanders, in a desperate bid to get away from them all….However Earthia broke free of his grasp and turned to face the Seedrian she once loved…Her tears freely running down her cheeks…
"You've become a monster Lucas…" she whimpered, fighting back the urge to scream and breakdown into tears.
However, the Seedrian emperor merely laughed at the pain in the voice of his wife, holding aloft the Planet Egg In his hand.
"Monster? No…I am the bloody sword of vengeance against the wretched, parasitical animals that pollute the galaxy…I am the saviour of the Seedrian Empire…I am no longer Lucas Ironvine, the weak Seedrian prince you fell in love with all those years ago…You shall be allowed to call me…Dark Oak. As for us? Well…We are the future, we are the destined sword that will cut out and purge the beasts forevermore! We. Are. The Metarex! " He announced vainly…And with those words killing the man he once was forevermore.
Earthia felt as if a poison arrow had shot she through the heart as she heard the words…He had finally thrown away everything, his duty to the Empire, his duty to his family…his duty to her…It was all gone now, all of it replaced by hatred, blood thirst and spite…Her husband was dead…And that empty shell of a man standing before her was all that remained…Her instincts, her brain and her heart were all screaming one thing…"I have to get off of this planet."
As quickly as she could, she alongside Landar broke into a frenzied sprint, in an attempt to get away from the madmen that stood in the shattered doorway to the throne room...Their objective? To get to the Bracken and get off world with Cosmo, Galaxina and Daisy as quickly as possible or at the least, die knowing that they were safe.
Janus activated Bloodthirster and Neck Biter in his hands, preparing to chase down the two and gut them like the traitors they were…However, he was stopped when Dark Oak spoke out,
"Let them go Pale Bayleaf."
The former Seedrian now Metarex commander turned to face the Emperor, deactivating his Bloodthirster and Neck Biter, confusing lacing the Commander's tone as he asked.
"My lord…Why are we letting them go, surely they'll try and escape on the Bracken." He asked, sheathing the two swords.
"They can watch their world die or they can perish alongside it…I care not for their fates, it's my daughters I wish to be brought before me…I want them alive and unharmed…They can still be convinced of the nobility of our cause." Dark Oak explained…The Metarex emperor turned to his subordinate and clasped the planet egg closely…
"Now…My friend…Behold the power we wield at our fingertips! The first step towards galactic forestation starts now!"
…
Cosmo flicked through the pages of her small gardening manual as she lounged in a small beanbag in the corner of the bedroom she and Galaxina were going to be sharing for the journey to Rusan, her fingers flicking through the pages and her sky blue eyes absorbing the information on the text like a sponge dropped into a lake…
While her sister was being groomed for the throne and the burdens of becoming an Empress one day, she on the other hand wanted to be left to her own devices and do her own thing, even if she knew her father and mother would never allow it…
A saddened sigh parted fromher lips as she set the manual down on the floor and rose to her feet, brushing off the small amounts of dust that had gathered on her dress…She turned to face her sister who was relaxing on one of the large beds, a tablet like device nestled in her hands.
"What do you think the Rusani will be like Galaxina?" Cosmo asked curiously, her mind filled with scenarios on how the greetings may go…She knew how the Seedrians were not very popular in the Federation and was nervous about relations between them going sour and potentially even hostile so she was seeking to put those little worries of hers to rest by asking Galaxina, somebody who was a lot more knowledgeable on the wider galaxy.
"Well, from what I've heard from mother, they're reasonable and are willing to compromise with us…But it depends on which species their envoys are...I'm just hoping we get one of the ones that are the most reasonable and aren't easily offended or angered." Galaxina answered, not rising from her spot on the bed.
"Great…That didn't help in the slightest…" Cosmo thought to herself as she went back and slumped down onto the beanbag again, her worries were just as intense as ever, now she had to worry over what species they would need to talk too…If things went badly, then there could be another war on their hands and from the stories her father told…She didn't want that to happen…Not in the slightest…
However…both girls shot up out of their seats when they heard a thunderous commotion outside their bedroom, they could hear shouting, the sound of running footsteps and panic…
The door to the bedroom burst open and in strode their mother Earthia who appeared frenzied and animalistic in her quest to get to them.
"Mother? What's going o-" Cosmo asked, being cut off by her mother wrapping her in an extremely tight bear hug…
"You're okay…Gaia's grace you're okay…" she whispered, Cosmo could feel hot tears splashing down onto her hair…That was immensely confusing, it wasn't like their mother to cry, not in the slightest at all…Which could only mean one thing…Something was extremely wrong…And all Cosmo could do…Was open her mouth and ask.
"Mother…Why are you crying?"
"It's your father…He's…He's gone mad…We're getting off this planet right now girls…We're going to Rusan…And I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon…"
"WHAT?!" The two exclaimed, panic and fear in their voices…Their father had gone…Mad? And they were leaving Greengate forever? What was going on?
"Hush, you two…Please…I'll explain everything in a bit…I just…need a moment…" Earthia whispered, feeling as if she was going to suffocate on her own tears…
The siblings looked to each other for comfort and found none…One thing was certain however…That their lives were never going to be the same ever again…
