TWO YEARS AGO:
Peter and Talia had been on a never-ending journey through the multiverse, exploring countless alternate realities with the help of the Infinity Stones. Their ultimate goal was to discover all of the hidden universes that existed beyond the boundaries of their own world, and they had been marking off every new reality they encountered in the Dark Branches.
As they traveled through the vast expanse of the multiverse, they came across a strange new universe that seemed to be completely empty. Everywhere they looked, they saw nothing but overgrown trees and abandoned houses, giving the impression that this world had been left uninhabited for centuries.
Despite the eerie silence of this deserted universe, Peter and Talia were not deterred. They cautiously ventured further into this new world, searching for any valuable resources that they could use to strengthen their own empire.
As they explored this seemingly empty universe, their curiosity grew. They wondered what had happened to the inhabitants of this world and why it had been left abandoned for so long. With each step they took, they were filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation for what they might discover in this mysterious new reality.
"My love, I don't believe there are any surviving people here," Talia reported as she looked around.
Peter nodded as he started to use the Mind Stone to sense the presence of anyone else. "I believe you are right, beloved."
Then his senses alerted him that something was coming, but he was confused considering that he didn't sense any living human beings. That was when his senses blared, causing Peter to flinch and dodge as a zombie came out of nowhere and tried to bite him. This zombie was dressed as Captain America and almost took Peter's arm if he didn't dodge and get out of the way.
Talia watched as a swarm of zombies started to make its way towards them as she backed away. "Beloved!"
Peter was ready to face the approaching swarm of zombies. He had the Power Stone in his hand, ready to direct energy into his palm and attack the zombies. Unfortunately, he was so focused on this task that he ignored his senses that were alerting him to danger. Talia was in danger of being attacked by another zombie, this one disguised as Ant-Man. The zombie was small enough that Talia couldn't even see him, but he managed to sneak up on her and latch onto her neck. Talia felt something bite her neck, causing her to react as if it were a mosquito.
After swatting the small man away, Talia realized what had happened and called out to Peter. "Beloved!" she tried to get the attention of Peter.
However, Peter was already in the midst of releasing the Power Stone, which instantly incinerated all the zombies in this reality with a giant shockwave. But when he saw that Talia had been bitten, he rushed over to her. She was already beginning to transform into one of the undead, and Peter was beside himself with fear and desperation.
Determined to save Talia, Peter summoned the power of the Time Stone and reversed time to just before the Ant-Man zombie attacked. Talia was relieved to find herself unharmed, but her relief was short-lived. She watched helplessly as the events began to unfold exactly as they had before. It was clear that she was still infected with the zombie virus.
Reversing Talia further back, Peter knew he needed to find a way to save Talia and for some reason, the power of the Infinity Stones wasn't working.
Talia was being looked over by doctors in their home reality while Peter was being told exactly why the Infinity Stones weren't working through his AI. "It would seem that Ms. Al Ghul's sickness has become a part of her DNA strand," JARVIS explained.
"But if I reversed to before it happened..." Peter wanted to know why the Time Stone didn't work.
"It would only reverse time, but the virus will always be there. It came from another world, so the power of the Infinity Stones can't stop the moment from happening because they can't work on subjects from another world." JARVIS explains to Peter why he can't cure her.
"Are there any alternatives?" Peter asks him.
"Find the cure," JARVIS replied. "Or any cure that can help. Anything that can cure a disease in the multiverse. In the infinite number of universes, there must be something that can cure her."
Peter was determined to find a cure for Talia's Zombie Virus. As he stood in front of her, he whispered, "If there is a cure, then I will find it." Peter knew that Talia's condition was getting worse day by day, and he couldn't keep reversing time on her forever. He was desperate to save her. "And I will conquer all of time and space to find a cure to save you and our child."
With this resolve, Peter set out on a journey that took him through every dimension, time, and space. He searched far and wide, exploring every corner of the multiverse, and conquered and enslaved every dimension that he could find. While on his quest, he even recruited a few members of the Spider Society, including a Zombie Spider-Man from a parallel timeline.
Despite all of his efforts, Peter's search eventually led him to the realization that there was no cure for Talia's Zombie Virus. He was devastated to learn that his efforts had been in vain, and all his conquests and enslavements had been for nothing. Talia's condition was beyond his control, and he had to accept that there was nothing he could do to save her.
Or so he thought.
He found out about the BRANCHES. And he was going to find a cure out there if he had to conquer them all.
CHAPTER 6
Science Wizards
DIMENSION-1082
"You met this Peter Parker once upon a time. You met him as a background member." The Watcher explains as he looks down at the new universe. "But now the time has come for him to be the Spider-Man in the spotlight."
An infinite number of worlds, each with a world where one small change could have implications that would alter all of time and space. As the time comes, Peter and Kara make it to the building's rooftop and wait for Rhea.
Kara said, "You know, you didn't have to do this."
"Well, the alternative is to watch my city and planet burn," Peter informs her.
"Because of the device, you didn't have to risk your life. Thank you for doing it anyway," Kara explained and thanked him.
Small Fry makes you happy. I know how it feels to have that taken away from you. And if I can stop it from happening, I'll do whatever I can to stop it." Peter says, thinking about Gwen. "If this doesn't work out the way we wanted it to, I want to say thanks. For being my friend, Skirt."
"Pleasure was all mine. Now make sure it works out the way we want it to," Kara said to him as Rhea appeared with a guard.
"I see you brought some moral support," Rhea says, looking at Kara.
Peter replied, "I see you did the same thing."
"So, once you are disposed of, do you have my word that our forces will lay down their arms? That the city, the nation, and the planet will be surrendered?" Rhea asks.
"As long as you pry it from my cold dead fingers," Peter promises her. "And when I defeat you, your invasion ends. You leave and never return."
Kara and Rhea's guards step back as Rhea and Peter prepare to fight each other.
"For the Earth," Rhea said.
"For the Earth," Peter replied.
Peter and Rhea race towards each other, and Peter activates his thrusters and flies into her, punching her, and sending Rhea flying. He then uses his webbing to pull her back and kick her across the rooftop.
As Peter goes to hit her with one of his arms, she grabs it and throws him into a fusion box. Peter quickly gets back up and roundhouses her, dropping Rhea. Just then, Peter's senses tingle and he looks to see the mothership and the others destroying the city.
"Skirt, get Small Fry, Boss, and Big Man, and take down those drones. I'll be fine," Peter tells her, and Kara flies off to take them down with Mon-El, Martian Manhunter, and Superman.
On the rooftop, the two continued their fight as explosions and screams could be heard all around them. Peter noticed that she was becoming tired after performing a scan of her health.
"Finish me, then," she dares him. "Hit me. Consider it a gift."
Peter went in and did just that, performing a backflip kick to her chin. As she fell, he spun and kicked her in the back, sending her tumbling.
Peter asks her, "Are you ready to surrender?"
Rhea says and turns to show that she's bleeding. "Kryptonite," she says. "Because of your people, Kryptonite poisoned my entire planet. I've carried it across galaxies. It's part of me now." She tells him while waiting for the kryptonite to take effect as Peter stands there confused.
Peter reminded her, "I already told you, I'm half Kryptonian. The other half isn't affected by kryptonite." He ran in, floated off the ground, and punched Rhea in the face again, causing her to bleed even more kryptonite.
Rhea grabs Peter by the leg and breaks the roof, sending them both down. As they hit a solid floor, Rhea punches Peter through some columns and walls, and his suit is starting to reboot. Rhea then walks up, flies him through the roof, and slams him back into it.
Peter quickly got back up, and the two began swinging lazily as they both grew tired.
"It won't stop here," Rhea promises Peter as she tries to punch him and Peter dodges it thanks to his enhanced senses. "There's Star City and Metropolis. I will destroy city after city until your whole world is gone." She promises as she lands a hit and Peter drops.
Peter breathes heavily as he finds the strength to stand up. Knowing that if he fails, the Earth falls and it's on him. "There's one thing you don't seem to understand... This is my world. And I will protect it until my last breath."
That's when his system fully rebooted and he sent a large repulsor blast at her chest, leaving a gaping hole where her heart should have been. Rhea gasped for breath, stunned by what he had done. He was willing to kill to save his world. He would do anything to ensure that the world Gwen loved remained standing.
Peter stood tall as Rhea fell over, leaving him victorious. Looking behind him, he saw Kara standing (well, floating) there, and he was shocked by the outcome. However, she knew that what he had said was true; he would do anything to protect his world. Even if it meant breaking his code at least once.
One person for the safety of the entire human race and all of Earth.
With the death of their leader, the DEO began to fire back at the invading forces, leaving the Daxamites alone. The world was finally safe and secure, and the Daxam race would never return to their homeworld.
That night, the city was already starting to clean up the destruction the invaders left behind, and they were all back at the DEO. Clark had already returned to Metropolis. It had been one hell of a day for everyone.
Peter needed to get some air after deleting the GWEN system from his data; just watching everything from the shores of the city. J'onn declared he should take some time off and focus on himself. Between what happened between Gwen and Rhea, he had faced a lot of heartache and deserved the break.
"I was told I might find you here," Lena Luthor called out, getting Peter's attention away from the water and towards her. "Rough day on the job?"
Peter laughed as he looked out into the water again. "That's an understatement at its finest," he said.
"You did what you had to do," Lena said as she walked over and stood beside him, leaning on the railing. "For Earth. For Kara. That monster wasn't going to stop until she got what she wanted."
"And all she wanted was her family back together." Peter sighed, unable to believe how innocent her intentions sounded. "I mean, she was a crazed lunatic at the end, but that's all she wanted."
"That's all any of us want, isn't it?" she asks him. "To have someone to love us."
"Yeah. And here we are, you with an ex who was turned into microbots and me with a deceased fiancée who was killed by a Goblin," Peter recalled their love lives and couldn't help but wonder if this was really his life. "I think both of us need a long vacation."
Lena chuckled and agreed, "Yeah."
As the days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, Kara began to give up hope of ever finding true love. But fate had other plans in store for her. One day, she met Mon-El, a kind and gentle man who stole her heart. From that moment on, they were inseparable.
As they grew closer, Kara and Mon-El talked about their future together. They dreamed of a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Before long, they were engaged to be married.
On their wedding day, Peter couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. He was happy for Kara and Mon-El, of course, but he couldn't help but wonder what might have been if he and Gwen had found love like this.
Still, he put on a brave face and watched as Kara and Mon-El exchanged their vows. It was a beautiful ceremony, filled with love and hope for the future. And as he watched the newlyweds dance the night away, Peter knew that they were meant to be together forever.
"So, I guess you didn't bring a plus-one either," Lena asked, getting Peter to stop focusing on the happy couple.
"Uh, yeah, the downside to being single... well, almost widowed, I don't know if that counts," Peter replied as Lena joined him. "How's the bridesmaid?"
"About as well as you," Lena said, seeing him not having the best time. "It must be hard. Seeing them so happy."
"No," Peter assured her easily, smiling. "It's easy. Seeing them happy... makes me glad that I managed to stop Rhea. At least one of us managed to get a happy ending."
Lena rolled her eyes and smiled. "I can't believe how optimistic you are. You always manage to find the ray of sunshine, even when the sky is at its rainiest."
"It's been the only way I've kept going," Peter admitted with a sigh. "Without that way of thinking, I wouldn't have anything left."
Lena promised, "You deserve more than nothing. After everything you've been through, you deserve to be happy."
"I think that the universe is telling me a different story." Peter scoffed and took a glass. "God, I wish I could get drunk."
"Ugh, I don't know," Lena said, having had her fair share of hangovers as well. "It's such a pain in the morning."
"I'd just like to forget about my troubles for one night," Peter said as he looked at the glass. "Do something I'll regret later."
"Well, that's what weddings are for, aren't they? To bring people together," Lena joked as she leaned into her purse, taking out a small vial. "Here."
Peter wondered aloud, "What's that?" as he looked it over.
"Something I concocted for Kara and you. Figured your DNA would need a bit of a kick to get you through the night," Lena explained to him what it was and why she had given it to him. "I gave Kara a few vials. Add it to any drink, and you'll feel the full effect."
Peter looked down at the vial and decided to go for it. He then poured the contents of the vial into his drink. "If this kills me, I expect an apology in my eulogy," he said.
Lena rolled her eyes and watched as he downed the drink. "Something tells me you've never had alcohol before," she said.
"I've drunk before. Okay, only at the alien bar," Peter stated as he gagged on the drink. "This is my first time trying real alcohol."
Lena chuckled, knowing that he would have moments like that. "Are you planning on slowing down now?"
Peter asked, reaching for another glass, "Are you kidding? I'm not finished yet."
Lena decided, "Well, just for tonight. Let's drink our sorrows away." She then took a glass from the counter.
The two of them shared a few drinks with each other while everyone else around them was beginning to dance. As she watched them dance, she thought it might be a good idea to try and get Peter up.
Lena said, "You know, I think it's traditional for the best man and bridesmaids to share a dance."
Peter said, "Trust me, you don't want to try that."
However, Lena seemed insistent on the idea as she stood up and held out her hand for him to take. "Let me be the judge of that," she said.
Peter shrugged and decided to just go with it. He took her hand, and she led him over to the dance floor. Peter had to admit that Lena wasn't bad at all as a dancer. And to his surprise, he wasn't bad either.
Just the two of them.
It wasn't half bad of an idea, was it?
And let's just say that the rest of that night became a bit of a blur for the two of them. At least, that's how it appeared to them the next morning. Lena seemed as if she were serious about the idea of the two of them just drinking their troubles away. The next morning, Peter opened his eyes to find himself suffering from the worst (and first) hangover he had ever experienced in his life.
When he started looking around to try and figure out where he was, he realized that he was in an unfamiliar environment. He then looked down and noticed that he was sleeping naked. That's when he noticed that there was someone else in the bed with him. Looking over, he noticed that it was Lena and she was still sleeping peacefully. Not entirely sure how he was supposed to react to that, he just climbed out of bed to get his clothes on. He needed to try and get his head on straight and work off this hangover.
Then a strange thing happened.
On the same day, Peter was just working off his hangover when he was suddenly dragged through a strange glowing substance. When it was done consuming him, Peter found himself tossed from his world and thrown into some strange new world. When he landed in this universe, not only did his hangover disappear, but he also discovered that he had somehow wound up in New York City, where there was another version of him whose identity wasn't a secret. While roaming the city to try and find this alternate version of himself, feeling a strange pull to him, a portal opened to him.
"Is that him?" Ava asked as she eyed the Spider-Man.
"It has to be, right?" Deke asks.
"Peter?" Elena called out to the figure.
They then watched as the figure turned to face the portal, giving them the impression that it was indeed Peter.
"Peter!" Ava called out to him.
"Peter!" Kamala called out.
Everyone started calling out to him, causing the figure to begin sprinting towards them. As he got closer and entered the fortress, they immediately realized that this version of Spider-Man was incredibly different from theirs.
This Spider-Man was wearing an armored Spider-Man suit bearing Iron Man's color scheme. It is mostly a metallic red, with the spider emblem, eye lenses, bracers, and boots being golden. To match Iron Man's armor, the suit bears a blue arc reactor in its chest as well as repulsors on its gauntlets and boots.
The group freaked out when they realized they might have made a mistake and got ready for a fight.
"Whoa! Whoa! It's okay!" This version of Spider-Man cried as he raised his arms, repulsors glowing from the action. "I'm a nice guy. I'm a good guy."
Then they watched as his suit's mask retracted and went inside the back of his suit, similar to Iron Man's MK XLVI. This revealed to be housing a much older Peter Parker, but they could see a few similarities between the two.
"Okay." Iron Peter sighed as he saw they started to calm down. "We cool?"
"Who the hell are you?" Ava asked, her claws drawn.
"I'm Peter Parker," Iron Peter explained to them as he gestured to the alley. "I'm Spider-Man. In my world."
"That's not possible," Kitty said and looked to Fitz-Simmons. "Is it?"
"Technically speaking, it is possible." Fitz had to admit.
"But...implausible," Simmons commented.
"Like the odds of everything that happens in our lives?" Mack asked sarcastically.
"Then yesterday...I was just here." Iron Peter said as he looked around the headquarters. "String theory, multi-dimensional reality...and matter displacement." Then he looked over at the group. "All real?"
"Yeah." Everyone nodded and confirmed.
"I knew it!" Iron Peter said as he looked around. "Oh, my girlfriend is gonna kill me she didn't get to see this."
"This has to be because of the spell." Kamala had to guess.
"Spell? Like magic spell?" That got Iron Peter's attention again. "Magic is real here, too?"
"No, there's no spell." Ned quickly denied it. "I mean-"
"Ned." Ava quickly stopped him and looked at Iron Peter. "Prove it."
"Prove what?" Iron Peter wonders.
"You're Peter Parker," MJ demanded him.
"How do you want me to prove that?" Iron Peter asks as he gestures to the suit. "You think someone sane would dress up like this if they weren't Spider-Man?"
MJ then picked up a piece of bread from the table and tossed it at Iron Peter. But he just stood there and watched the bread even stuck to his suit before plopping on the floor.
Iron Peter looked down at the bread and over to MJ. "Why'd you do that?"
"I was trying to see if you have the tingling thing," MJ explains.
"I have the tingling thing, but it doesn't work on bread," Iron Peter explains to her. "If you've seen what I deal with on a weekly basis, you'd get it."
"Good point," Laura said as she looked at the big man in the room. "Mack, shoot him."
"What?" Mack asked her.
"What?" Simmons asked.
"What?" Iron Peter asked the group. "Okay, you're a deeply mistrusting group. But I can respect that." He then removed his gloves and quickly leaped to the ceiling, sticking to it with ease. "This good enough?"
"Crawl around," MJ demanded him.
"Crawl around?" Iron Peter asks her. "Why?"
"Because this isn't enough," MJ stated.
"This is plenty." Iron Peter denied that.
MJ then tossed the bread and ended up smacking him in the face. "Do it."
Iron Peter then decided to just do it and quickly crawled and dropped to the ground. "We good now?"
"For now." Ava decided and everyone stood down.
"I gotta say, I love the suit," Simmons commented as she felt Peter's iron fabric. "It feels very sturdy."
"That's actually me. It's like cloth when it's off." Iron Peter tells her.
"Really?" Simmons asks as she opens his palm to look at the suit. "Impressive."
"She always like this?" Iron Peter asks.
"Most of the time," Fitz admitted as he watched Jemma awe this alternative version of their little brother.
"So, I opened the wrong portal to the wrong Peter?" Ned asks.
"Guess we're just gonna have to keep going until we find the real one." Doreen shrugged.
"Ow." Iron Peter felt insulted by that comment as the portal he came through closed.
"No offense," Elena promises.
Ned then got at it again, circling his hand and trying to focus. "Find Peter."
"What's that?" Iron Peter eyed the sling ring.
"Shh." MJ shushed him.
"Find Peter Parker!" Ned demanded, swinging his hand.
Then another portal ended up opening on the other end of the table, leading to a high point in the city. They could see a figure standing with the Chrysler Building in the back. He came stepping out and was revealed to be yet another Peter Parker.
This version of Peter wearing a different Spider Armor more closely resembles his original classic suit, albeit with a more metallic shine to it. The suit also has a different chest insignia that sets it apart with a more lightning look to the legs. The shutter lenses have a green glow to them, matching the insignia.
This Peter came walking through the portal with his mask in his hands. "Hello." He then looked back to the portal. "Hope you don't mind. I just came..." then the portal closed behind him. "...And then it closed."
Ava seemed to recognize that face and pointed to Peter. "You're Peter?"
"Yeah." Peter Parker confirmed while pointing at himself. "Peter Parker. I've seen you guys before." But then he noticed the Iron Peter and their senses went off. "Wait..."
Neither of them is sure what their senses are saying, they mistake one another for a threat. Acting quickly, Iron Peter shot out a repulsor blast which Peter Parker quickly dodged. He did so by flipping into the air and shooting a web out to block the repulser.
Iron Peter calmed down when he saw that he was a fellow Spider-Man and honored his quick thinking.
"Wait, so you're Spider-Man, too?" Ned asks him. "Why didn't you just say that?"
"I don't generally go around advertising my identity on billboards or anything." Peter Parker tells them. "It kinda defeats the whole being an anonymous superhero thing."
"That's what I just said," Iron Peter commented.
"That's what he said," MJ muttered.
"I...I know that this is gonna sound strange, but I've been trying to find your friend since I got here." Peter Parker said to the group. "I've got this...sense that he needs my help."
"Our help." Iron Peter agreed that he was doing the same thing.
"He does," Doreen said in sorrow.
"We don't know where he is," Kamala tells the travelers.
"And quite frankly, we're all he has left." Simmons was sorry to say.
Peter Parker then thought of something that could narrow the search down. "Well...is there a special place that he would go to? A special place? A place he would go to-"
"Get away from everything?" Iron Peter asks, knowing exactly what he's talking about.
Ava thought about it for a moment and started to remember an old story of Peter's. "I might know where he is."
In the cemetery, sitting crisscross in front of the gravestones for Mary, Ben, May, and Richard Parker, Peter Parker-Coulson is sitting there, broken and miserable. It's official. Everyone that he knows, and loves is put in danger and is suffering because of him.
As he sat there in his own anger and disgrace, Daisy and Melinda were the first to find him just as his friends and family came up to him. They all walk up to him and embrace the boy as he cries on their shoulders and takes their comfort.
"Peter, there's... there are some people here... Who..." MJ tried to explain to him.
Peter however didn't listen to the rest and quickly got up, pushing his way through and looking upward to where his senses were leading him. He notices the Iron and Spider Peter at the top of a tower. They then jump down to his level and remove their masks.
"Sorry." Peter Parker apologized to the younger version of them. "About Coulson."
"Yeah. Sorry." Iron Peter said with a sigh. "You know, I have some-"
"No, no, no. Don't do that." Peter C quickly stopped him. "Don't tell me that you know what I'm going through."
"Okay." Iron Peter sighed.
"He's gone... and it's all my fault. He died for nothing." Peter C said in anger at himself. He was done with all of this and ready to fix everything. "So, I'm gonna do what I should've done in the first place."
"Peter..." Peter Parker called out to him.
"Don't." Peter C quickly stopped them. "You don't belong here. Either of you, so I'm sending you home. Those other guys are from your worlds, right?" Iron Peter bobbed his head, seeing the villains that ended up here were from both of their worlds. "So, then you deal with it. If they die, if you kill them... then that's on you. It's not my problem. I don't care anymore. I'm done. I'm really sorry that I dragged you into this. But you have to go home now. Good luck."
Peter C then reached for the Machina de Kadavus when Ava kept it out of arms reach. Peter C was about ready to demand the box when Peter Parker called out to them.
"My Uncle Ben was killed." Peter Parker informed the young Spider, getting his attention away from the box. "It was...it was my fault."
"I lost... I lost Gwen," Iron Peter tells the Agent with tears in his eyes. The wound was still fresh to him, even though it had been at least four years since her death. Peter C was surprised to hear that his doppelganger also lost his Gwen. "She... she was my fiancé. I couldn't save her. I'm never going to forgive myself for that." Tears flew down his face as he remembered what happened. "But I carried on. Tried to, uh... tried to keep going, tried to keep being the... that friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, because I know that's what she would have wanted. But... I just... I stopped pulling my punches. I got rageful. I got bitter. I just don't want you, to end up like... like me."
"The night that Ben died... " Peter C looked towards Peter Parker as he explained his past. "I hunted down the man that did it. I wanted him dead. But when I almost got what I wanted, I realized... it wouldn't change anything." Peter Parker recalled the night his uncle was taken from him. "All that would happen is I would become just like the man that took him from me. It took me a while to get through that darkness."
"I wanna kill him. I wanna tear him apart." Peter C finally admitted that he had never had this anger inside him before. Back when Loki killed Phil, he was too young to think of this. But right now, he was filled with rage that this was his fault. He chose to be a good person, and use his powers for good, and this is what he got in return. "I can still hear his voice echoing in my head. In his final moments." He started to tear up at how powerful he was and yet wasn't powerful enough to save his uncle. "Even after he was hurt, he said that what we did was right. I can remember one of the lessons he always tried to teach me...that with great power..."
Peter Parker smiled as he recognized that motto, he even looked at Iron Peter and noticed he recognized the motto. "...comes great responsibility."
Peter C was shocked that his doppelgänger knew about that motto. "What, how do you know that?"
"Uncle Ben said that." Iron Peter said with a smile and a tear running down his cheek.
"The day that he died." Peter Parker finished their thought. "Maybe Coulson didn't die for nothing, Pete."
"Ladies and gentlemen... The Bugle tip line has just received a call from none other than the fugitive known as Spider-Man, fresh from his rampage in Queens." Jameson stated over the Daily Bugle broadcast, unknowingly helping Peter get his message across the whole world at once. "So, Peter Parker... What pernicious propaganda are you peddling?
Peter C was using his phone camera to broadcast his face across the world. "Just the truth."
"Oh, sure." Jameson scoffed.
"Truth is... that this is all my fault." Peter C finally confesses to the world. "I accidentally brought those dangerous people here.
"We'll, he admits it!" Jameson was more than happy to see he was right.
"And if those people are watching... Just know that I really did try to help you." Peter C said as he was holding up the box for the world to see. "I mean, I could've killed you. At any given moment, but I didn't. Because Coulson taught me that everyone deserves a second chance. And that's why I'm here."
"And where is here, exactly?" Jameson asks him.
"A place that represents second chances." Peter C says as he then moves the camera.
He shows a scaffolding surrounding the Statue of Liberty. Showing that the scaffolding serves as the pillar of Captain America's shield which is being slowly attached to the statue.
"The Statue of Liberty?!" Jameson asked in fear. "Good God, folks! He's about to destroy another national landmark!"
"And, world, if you're watching..." Peter C sighed as he knew this is where it all ends.
"Believe me, the world is watching." Jameson scoffed.
Peter sighed and knew he was asking for a miracle. "Wish me luck. Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man could really use some."
He ends the call. On the scaffolding surrounding the Statue of Liberty, the three Peters are getting ready with the S.H.I.E.L.D. A-Team. They knew that everything had to be right if they were going to go up against three Speedsters, Livewire, and if there were even any other criminals they didn't know about.
The group stared down at the army of enemies standing across from them, seeing that this could be their final confrontation. It was a do-or-die mission now.
Leaping towards the enemies, Savitar leaped at them as Peter-3 did a flip with his repulsers and kicked him in the face. Ava went in and clawed Vulture when he got too close and went straight for the wings. Nora sped over at Thawne and the two then started to fight in the air.
Peter made a direction straight at Mysterio, leaping over the mist and using his senses to miss the drones.
Taking a dive, leaving most of the enemies with his friends, he shot out a web just as Leslie transported down and tried to shoot him. Peter was however fast enough to stay away and did a spin through the rafters. Daisy was in a blaster fight against the Shocker, who upgraded his gauntlets with blasts setting.
"Alright, Spider-Man's. Let's take care of Mysterio first," Peter-1 proclaimed, wanting to take Beck out first.
Peter-2 was currently being chased by the fake figure of Mysterio as he ran across the rafters. "Well, he's on my tail right now." He then looked around and started to come up with a plan. "I'll lead him inside the statue."
"Keep him there," Peter-3 said as he was slammed against the statue by Savitar. "I'll take down his network of drones." He was then pulled off the statue and slammed into the ground. "I just need a minute!"
"You won't get the chance!" Savitar promises as he pulled out his blade.
"Really?" Peter-3 asks as he activated his rocket feet. "Bye!"
He then blasted the two of them down the statue before ramming into the edge. He was then flown off and quickly shot a web to pull himself back up there. Once he made it back, he shot out a web grenade from his wrist and slammed it against Savitar's armor.
"Wait your turn!" Peter-3 said as he lets the grenade go off. Once it did, it ended up trapping Savitar inside a giant bundle of webbing. "I'll be right back!"
Savitar screeched in anger as Peter-3 did a back-roll and started to hack into a drone. Getting a clear signal of where the drones are getting a connection to, he quickly flew off towards the location.
Peter-2 was sliding down the dress of the Statue of Liberty before ending up at the bottom. The green smoke of Mysterio started to burst out sand as he begins climbing inside the Statue.
"Guys!" Peter-2 cried in terror as he tried to escape the swarm of sand coming. "I need some help!"
Beck was currently inside a warehouse and controlling the drones that he had still outside of the STARK network.
As soon as he believed he was about to kill an alternative version of the man who destroyed everything. But as he was ready to do it, Peter-3 came down and used the shadows of the warehouse to aim at the middle.
This missile wouldn't kill him but would knock him unconscious with a gas he made. Using it, he shot it out and the gas started to take effect on Beck almost immediately.
Beck started to smell the gas and started to look around. "What?"
"Bye-bye," Peter-3 said as he waved at Beck who passed out. "Man, that's just sad." He strolled over to the unconscious Beck and picked up his helmet. "Alright, now where's the off button?"
Peter-2 was suffocating on the sand just when the sand started to be sucked out of the statue almost immediately. He dropped down to a stand and took a deep breath.
"Whoo. Ouch." Peter-2 said as he held his chest from the weight of the sand. "Thanks for the help."
"Don't thank me yet. These drones are on auto in case something like this happens." Peter-3 informed them through the comms. "I gotta get them out of the way before they blow the whole Statue of Liberty."
Outside the statue, Daisy was in a quake fight against the Shocker. The two of them shot out a blast of energy at one another. Daisy dived to dodge the attack that Shocker sent out to her.
"Buddy... I've fought much more dangerous enemies than a guy with gloves." Daisy informed him.
"Yeah, well we'll see who's the one on top of things after I'm through with you." Herman proclaimed to her.
Daisy rolled her eyes as he sent another shockwave at her. Daisy went for a more defensive attack this time as she used a quake to shield herself.
Back in the air, Vulture was flying around with his new wings that shoot metal spike feather-like spikes off. He flew around, spinning and smacking Kamala and Doreen off the rafters.
But as they fell, Kamala attached her arm to the rafters and grabbed onto Doreen, catching the two of them.
"Thanks," Laura said in relief. But then she looked over and noticed that the Vulture was coming back. "He's coming back around!"
But as he was getting closer, there was a sudden interference in the case of Ava coming down and landing on his back. The moment that she got down there, she showed how much she learned and experienced since their first interaction.
Using her new Vibranium claws from her new suit, she sliced straight through his pack, kicking Adrian, and sending him into the rafters.
"It's been two years since we last saw each other, Adrian," Ava commented as she took her claws out again. "I've learned a lot since the last time we saw each other."
"Ow," Adrian said as he tried to get back up.
But as he tried to stand, Laura punched him in the face, shattering his helmet, and knocking him out.
"You're lucky I retracted the claws." Laura snarled in anger at this guy attacking her friends.
Nora was currently running around the statue of livery going up and down the rafters with Thawne on her tail. She was able to keep up with him to keep Thawne off of the other's backs so he couldn't quickly kill them.
Nora couldn't get the runway necessary to go fast enough to reverse time, so she had to rely on her speed and speed alone.
Running as fast as one and the other could, they fought with all of their might. Nora slammed Thawne against the Captain America statue and went to punch him in the face. But Thawne was fast and was able to dodge the attack faster than she could hit.
Thawne punched Nora in the hip to give him the speedway to run downward. Nora quickly got over the attack and sped after him. As she saw Thawne speeding his way downward, she got an idea and quickly ran and jumped off of a drone flying nearby. Using the drone as a jump point, she managed to leap down a few levels faster and even managed to tackle the Reverse Flash.
"This ends now, Thawne!" Nora proclaimed in anger.
"Oh, please." Thawne scoffed at the measly threat. "You're your father's daughter. You don't have it in you to kill me."
"Who said anything about killing?" Nora questions.
Kitty then came down from through the rafters above, making a quick landing. She held the cure in her hands, then sent it flying towards Nora. Nora quickly caught the cure with her left hand while keeping Thawne pinned with her right. As soon as the cure was in her grasp, she immediately slammed it into Thawne.
This was a device similar to the one that Zoom used to take away her father's speed, only now created for the Negative Speedforce. Thawne saw what was happening and tried his hardest to rip the cure off of his chest. But Kitty came back and quickly used her powers to pull Thawne's hands into the rafters.
"No!" Thawne proclaimed in anger. "You can't do this!"
"Seems to me we can," Nora said with no remorse.
Thawne was stuck trying to vibrate his hands out of Kitty's phasing whilst his powers were stolen from him.
The two waited until the canister was completely full, seeing the entire trace of the Negative Speedforce has left him.
Back with Leslie, she was currently shooting lighting at the heroes who couldn't get a good hit in. But the three Spiders certainly could. Peter-1 landed on the crown of the statue, Peter-2 landed on the top of the crown, and Peter-3 landed on the rafters aside from them.
"How do we stop her?" Peter-2 asks them, never dealt with this enemy before.
"I'm not sure. I've never seen her this powerful." Peter-3 admitted.
"It's the Arc reactor," Peter-1 explains to them and gestured to her belt where the reactor was. "We've gotta get it off of her."
"You're not gonna take this away from me!" Leslie proclaimed. Peter-1 went first to try and take it. But the second his webbing touched her, she managed to rip it off. "That's not gonna work!"
Leslie then sent a blast of electricity to the three heroes. They all did a backflip to escape the blast, and all landed a few feet apart from one another.
"Okay, we've got to do this up close. Peter-2, you go in from the left. Peter-3, you got the right. We'll correspond in the middle."
And with that, Peter-1 was the first to jump and get Leslie's attention off of the others. Peter-2 then came in from the right and swung over the left where he shot a web to hold her hand down. Peter-3 repeated the process but in reverse going from her left to her right and shooting a web to cross her arms together.
With her hands tied up, Peter-1 went in to try and pry the reactor off of her belt. But it seems that he miscalculated (or just didn't know) that she could shoot lighting without her hands. Lightning literally shot out of her chest as she sent Peter-1 flying and slamming against the statue and falling down the rafters.
Peter-2 went in himself from behind, hoping to catch her by surprise. But that ended with Leslie teleporting and shooting Peter-2 into the crane. Peter-3 went in while she was distracted, but it ended with her shooting him with lighting, keeping him trapped in a never-ending loop of lighting.
Back with Leslie, she was holding peter-3 hostage as his suit was keeping him trapped in place. Peter-2 managed to sneak away long enough to grab the cure to extract the rest of the energy out of her. He was hoping that would count for the Arc reactor as well when he leaped out of his hiding spot.
But that didn't exactly go as planned when Peter-2 ended up trapped right alongside Peter-3 in a trap that he was held up by from his web shooters. The two of them cried in pain as the electricity was starting to burn through their suits and hurt them.
And just as all hope seemed lost for them, they noticed something coming in from above. From a long distance, it looked to be some sort of kite making its way down to them.
"What...is that?" Peter-3 wonders.
"Wait..." Peter-2 thinks he recognizes the person. "Is that...?"
Ralph Dibny came gliding down from the skies (stealing Elastigirl's move from the Incredibles) as he morphed himself into a glider.
"Leroy Jenkins!" Ralph cried just as he got Leslie's attention.
When Leslie looked at where Ralph was coming from, he already gotten too close for her to teleport as he wrapped himself up around her as a sort of electrical conduction.
The second he wrapped himself around her, it broke Leslie's connection that she had with the binds between the two Spider-Men. They dropped to the rafters below them and looked as if Leslie couldn't escape him.
"What the hell?!" Leslie cried as she tried to get herself free of the man. "Get the hell off of me!"
"I need a hand over here!" Ralph stretched his neck out to face them. "Now!"
Peter-2 decided to just go with it as he grabbed the cure and eyed Ralph. "Catch!"
Ralph looked and stretched his hands out just as Peter-2 tossed the cure. Ralph then caught the cure and stretched his legs away from the reactor. Removing the decide from her belt, he replaced it with the cure.
When the cure was attached to her, Leslie immediately felt all of the energy leave her as she became weak. Ralph then let her go and quickly stretched himself to the rafters. When he swung them over, he placed Leslie on the ground gently.
"There we go," Ralph said with happiness as he looked down at the arc reactor.
Ava walked over and helped Doreen to her feet. "You okay?"
"Yeah, that nut with the wings got a good hit," Doreen said as she saw the cut on her stomach. It wasn't deep, but it still hurt. "Ouch."
Nora then sped upward and saw them all. "Everyone okay?"
"I'll live," Kamala promises.
"So... did we do it?" Doreen wonders.
Strange then opened a portal and joined the kids and enemies on the top of the rafters. Peter-1 quickly swung over and landed on top of the rafters.
"Strange, wait, we're so close!" Peter-1 said, taking off his mask.
"Zip it!" Strange yelled in anger. "I've been dangling over the Grand Canyon for twelve hours!"
"I mean you had or coming." Laura scoffed.
"Have you calmed down from being in time out?" Kamala mocked.
"I know, and I'm...kinda sorry about that but uh..." Peter-1 was saying just as the other Peters joined with their masks off.
Peter-3 came flying as some of his armor was starting to fall apart from the damage from Leslie. Peter-2 swung up with his webbing as normal, his suit a little battle damage.
"You went to the Grand Canyon?" Peter-2 asked in confusion.
"You know, he could have used your help," Peter-3 said as he took a step forward, gesturing to Peter-1.
"No, no, no." Peter-1 instantly defended Strange as that was more his fault. "It's okay. These are my new friends. This is Peter Parker and Peter Parker. Spider-Man, Spider-Man. They're here to help."
Strange groaned as he saw the three and couldn't handle it. "No, no, no."
"This is the...wizard," Peter-1 explained to his doppelgängers.
"Look I'm really impressed that you managed to give them all a second chance kid. But this has to end. Now" said Strange.
Peter-2's spider sense goes off as he turns around with visible dread on his face. He knows what's about to come.
"CAN THE SPIDER-MAN COME OUT TO PLAY!?" Green Goblin cries out.
The Green Goblin swoops in, descending towards the top of the scaffolding on his glider, with a swarm of razor-bar Pumpkin Bombs accompanying him.
Ralph steps in and uses his arms to crush the bats flying toward Strange. Goblin swoops down and steals the box from Strange. Nora also did her part as she sped around and either moved the heroes or grabbed the bats before they could make an impact.
Before Strange can process what had just happened, Ralph and Kamala send their arms forward, grabbing the glider and holding it in place.
Strange conjures a whip and retrieves the box with it. Osborn spins his glider and cuts both of their arms with its blade, causing the two to cry in pain and pull their arms back. Goblin then flies out into the clouds, disappearing into the night sky.
The three Peters' Spider-Sense go off at the same time. The Goblin has left a present for them with the - a Pumpkin Bomb, lodged in the Machina de Kadavus.
"Strange-" Peter-1 tried to warn him.
Bang!
The explosive goes off, destroying the Machina de Kadavus, knocking Strange away, and destroying a large part of the scaffolding. The shield attached to the statue goes down and falls to the ground. Most of the others managed to get ahold of something or used their powers to stop themselves from falling. But MJ couldn't do so as she fell off the Statue, debris plummeting around her. Ned manages only to latch on to a random rivet before he plummeted.
Peter-1 instantly throws himself after her, his hand reaching out for hers. Seconds before they connect, the cackling Green Goblin collides with Peter-1, dragging him away from MJ.
MJ could only watch in terror as Peter was being dragged away and she was left to fall for her death. But there was someone who wasn't going to let that happen. Peter-3 screams out, "No!" and dives after MJ, remembering when he was in a similar situation.
Using his rockets that still function, he blasted himself down as fast as he could. As soon as he reached her, he enveloped her in his arms and spun them around before he blasted his rockets on his foot to lower them to the ground slowly. They land, breathing heavily, among falling metal debris.
"Are you okay?" Peter-3 quickly asked her.
"Yeah," MJ assured him.
Peter-3 started to cry tears of joy, remembering how he failed to save Gwen in his reality. But he wasn't going to let someone else deal with that same grief he went through.
"Are you okay?" MJ asks, noticing the tears.
Peter-3 nods, finally having found some closure for his biggest mistake.
Doctor Strange tries to hold the spell with his utmost effort. Ned desperately holds onto his rivet. Ralph and Nora moved everyone that they could to the lower levels.
Stephen grapples with the spell to the last but fails, and a wave of magical energy spreads through New York. Ned lets go and screams as he starts falling. Fortunately, the Cloak of Levitation comes to the rescue, attaching itself to Ned's arms and holding him in the air.
Meanwhile, the shield, impacted by the release of runes, moves down again, absolutely pulverizing the remaining levels of scaffolding underneath. Peter-2 shoots some webs, helping Savitar and Mack to safely reach the ground level.
The shield completely collapses to the ground, rolls off the surface of Liberty Island, and stops on the water of the Claremont Terminal Channel.
Standing on the Statue's torch, Dr. Strange watches in horror as reality cracks, creating interdimensional portals for those who know Peter Parker's identity to come through. He immediately starts trying to seal them with his spells, but it's not enough as the cracks just return and grow larger.
Peter-1 wildly bashes Green Goblin's glider until he breaks open his stash with Pumpkin Bombs. He takes one out of the container as Goblin notices what he is doing. Before he has time to react to it, Peter activates it and slams it into the glider. Once he did, the bomb took a second before finally exploding and destroying the glider's controls.
The vehicle loses altitude instantly, with Peter-1 and Norman crashing through some rubble before they finally land at the shield's underside. Ned lands on a viewing terrace as the cape returns to Stephen.
"Thank you, Mr. Cape, sir." Ned thanked the cape.
Then all of the heroes and friends quickly met back up. All of them were happy to see that they were all safe. But then they were worried about their final member.
Peter-1 crawled to his feet and looked up. "Ned! Ava! MJ! Guys!"
"Hey! We're okay!" Everyone assured him.
Peter 1 takes a good, deep breath of relief. That doesn't last long, however, as he notices Norman Osborn lying several tens of meters behind. He turns to him, adopting a battle stance, glaring with anger. The Goblin stands up and removes his goggles. Playtime's over.
"Poor Peter." Goblin mocked the boy whose life he had just ruined. "Too weak to send me home to die."
"No." Peter snarled in anger as he got into his usual stance. "I just wanted to kill you myself."
Goblin smiled as he believed he had finally broken the hero. "Attaboy."
The two charge and clash, exchanging blows with even more bitterness than before. Peter fires two webs at Goblin, which he evades swiftly and swings at the young web-slinger.
Peter bends down, avoiding the blow, and webs Goblin's foot to the surface then beats him down with a massive punch. He then tries to perform a possibly lethal jump slam attack, but Goblin frees himself soon enough and rolls over.
Goblin rises and pulls a blade out of his gauntlet, whistles, and smiles like crazy. The fighting commences again. Peter performs a few shaky evasions before he gets a good hit on Goblin.
He evades the blade again, but Goblin strikes him in the face with his other hand. Parker recovers almost instantly and webs Goblin's legs to the surface again hits him twice, and accidentally wounds himself on one of the spikes sticking out from the Goblin's armor.
The maniac frees himself once again, strikes but to no avail, and finally loses the upper hand. Peter disarms him, hits him a couple of times, webs him, and pulls him to his knee, punching him, then grabs him and performs a revenge Supplex, ruthlessly throwing his opponent to the ground. Goblin cannot respond to the fight anymore.
Peter lands a barrage of blows on his face, each succeeding punch being stronger. Ned, MJ, Ava, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the two Peters watch their friend's actions in horror.
Peter-2 and Peter-3 exchange glances in silent agreement. Seeing that they needed to end this fight before Peter-1 did something he would regret again.
Peter-1 finally stops beating the Goblin and lifts his glider instead. He holds it over his head and brings it down on Green Goblin's head with a hateful scream.
But right before the glider could make contact, Peter-2 steps in and stops the glider halfway through. Peter-1 tries to push through and reach the Goblin, but peter-2 does not let up. He doesn't scold his alternative counterpart.
Instead, Peter-2 looks at him with understanding, compassion, and even a plea. The sincerity on his face slowly, gradually cools Peter-1 down.
Peter-1 lowers the glider and drops it. As if on cue, Green Goblin pulls out another blade and stabs Peter 2 in the back.
The older Spider-Man plummets to the ground in silent pain. Peter-3, holding Norman's cure rushes towards them, gasping.
Peter-1 ended up glaring at Norman again as he chuckled. "He was there... because of you... I may have struck the blow, but you..." he smiled as he continued to laugh. "You are the one that killed him."
He bursts out in a maniacal cackle. Peter-3 tosses the cure to Peter-1, who sticks it into the Goblin's neck. He stops laughing and has a look of confusion in his eyes when the serum is released. Peter-2, wounded but alive, smiles as Norman Osborn sinks to his knees, free of his alternate personality at last.
"Peter?" Norman asked, unsure of what had happened. "What have I done?"
Peter-3 joins them, bending over Peter-2 to see how he's doing. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I've been stabbed before," Peter-2 assured him that he could walk it off.
"Oh, okay." Peter-3 decided to go with what to say. He then looked at Peter-1 and patted him on the shoulder. "Nice catch."
"Nice throw." Peter-1 returned.
The three then heard a cracking sound and looked up where they saw strange cracks. They tried to stop them but they became more and more noticeable. He continued to try and fix reality, but it became harder and harder to accomplish.
"Is that happening or am I dying?" Peter-2 asks them.
"That's actually happening," Peter-3 confirmed.
"Are there people in the sky?" Peter-2 questioned.
Up top, Doctor Strange is still trying to hold them back. Their silhouettes become somewhat visible. Among them were a few familiar faces and some unfamiliar to the heroes and villains.
Peter-1 saw he needed to talk to Strange. "I gotta go."
"Yeah, go, I've got him," Peter-3 assured him as Peter-1 leaped to swing away. "Are you okay?"
For the spell to work, the entire planet would need to forget Peter Parker-Coulson. It will hurt him, but he knows the risks and is willing to sacrifice everything to save the multiverse.
He's a true hero.
The Sorcerer Supreme slowly levitates higher and higher and begins to cast the spell, drawing a rune circle. Peter swung his way over to Peter-2 and 3 first to say goodbye. Peter-3 was holding Peter-2 over his shoulder to help him stand until the wound healed itself.
"Hey." Peter-1 greeted his counterparts again. "I-I think this is it. I think you're about to go home. But I... uh... Thank you. I just wanted... I wanna tell you that... I really don't know how to say this, like...
Peter-3 smiled and remembered how nervous he was as a kid talking to 'superiors' "Peter."
Peter-1 however was still rambling on. "I want you to know that I..."
"We know." Peter-2 interrupted him. "You know. It's what we do."
Peter-1 smiled as he started to see what they were talking about. "Yeah. It's what we do. Right. I gotta find my friends." He can't contain it and hugs his multiversal counterparts.
The two of them quickly hugged him back, three different Spider-Men with three different backgrounds.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!" Peter-1 couldn't thank them enough for helping save his family, his friends, and everyone that he holds close to him. He then started to step back and sighed. "I guess I'll see you."
"See ya." Peter-2 agreed.
Peter-1 then backed off and looked back. "Bye."
Peter-3 smiled as he watched his younger counterpart swing off. "You know where to find us if you ever need us!" He chuckled as he looked over to Peter-2. "You're in so much pain, huh?"
Peter-2 sighed as he had to agree with that. "I am."
Peter-3 nodded as he could see that. "Yeah."
Doctor Strange finishes the first stage of the spell. Thawne, Norman, Ralph, Savitar, and Leslie vanish in a flash of light as they all return to their respective universes. Nora was also right behind them, but she quickly took the cure to deplete herself of her powers. Just before their turn comes, Peters-2 and Peter-3 wave at each other as they disappear and return to their respective universes.
When Peter returned to his universe, he thought about how happy his alternate selves had been and how they had all opened their hearts. He then realized there was someone he needed to talk to and quickly began making his way to L-Corp.
When he reached the company, he landed on the balcony and noticed Lena was currently at her desk, wearing a pair of sunglasses. As he opened the door, he realized she had been asleep.
Peter chuckled as he approached and knocked lightly at the desk. "Good morning," he said.
Lena moaned as she started to wake up. "What... what time is it?"
Peter looked at the time; he wasn't exactly sure what time it was since he had just returned from another dimension. It appeared to be around the same time as the parallel universe. "Uh, about six in the morning."
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Lena asked, laying her head back down on the desk.
Peter asked, "Did you sleep here?" as he looked around.
Lena asked him, "Is it morning?"
"Yes," Peter replied.
Lena nodded. "Then I slept here," she confirmed. She got up and sighed. "And now I am awake." It seemed she wasn't hungover anymore and she stumbled her way over to the coffee machine. Well, more like she limped her way over. "Coffee?"
Peter asked, "You want me to help?"
"I can do it myself," Lena promised.
Peter saw that she could see that. He watched as she struggled with what he thought was the coffee machine, but which turned out to be the blender. "Okay, come on," he said.
Peter then walked over and had Lena walk over to the couch. "Where are we going?"
Peter sat Lena down on the couch and said, "I'll get you something to help you wake up."
Peter then went over and made her coffee the way she liked it. It didn't take much more than an internet search and looking at a few receipts to find out how she liked it. Once he had her coffee ready, he walked over and sat beside her while placing the mug down.
Lena muttered, "Where have you been? Everyone has been looking for you," as she reached for the cup.
"Yeah, that's a bit of a long story," Peter muttered, knowing that it would be quite the tale to tell their friends. "I'll fill you all in together. But... let's just say I had a run-in with another multiversal problem."
"Wait, what?" Lena seemed to jump awake at that mention of the multiverse.
"As I said, I will explain it to everyone," Peter assured her he would explain the crazy mission he had just been on. "But... let's just say that I was given a bit of advice from... two different versions of myself."
"Oh, really? About what?" Lena wondered as she took a sip of coffee.
First"...I'd like to say I am sorry for how I ran off after what happened." Peter started.
Lena was surprised that he started with that. "Oh," she had to admit that he had forgotten about it.
"I was just scared; I didn't know how to react," Peter said. "But...now I've had time to calm down. Now I know what I want to do with my life."
"And what would that be?" Lena wonders.
Peter shifted his weight and nonchalantly glanced over to see Lena mimicking his shrug. They both smiled as their eyes met and they leaned in for a kiss. As their lips met, time seemed to stand still for a moment. They savored the feeling of each other's warmth and the softness of their lips. It was as if nothing else in the world mattered at that moment and they just wanted to remain in that embrace forever.
This was the beginning of something fresh and exciting.
Lena Luthor and Peter Parker had been dating for some time now; they knew they were destined to be together. They had weathered numerous challenges together and consistently supported each other. Consequently, when Peter proposed to Lena, she accepted immediately.
The wedding was set to take place in National City, and it was going to be a grand affair. Lena had always dreamed of having a big wedding, and Spider-Man wanted to ensure that she got everything she desired.
The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement and anticipation as Lena made her way to her bridal suite. The room was adorned with beautiful flowers and soft lighting that created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lena's bridesmaids, Morg'Ann, Kara, and Alex were already there, eagerly awaiting her arrival.
As Lena walked into the room, she couldn't help but feel a wave of gratitude for her friends who have been with her through thick and thin. Looking at her dress, she felt a sense of pride knowing that it was chosen with the help of her friends, who understood her style and preferences better than anyone else.
The thought of her mother being present on her special day was unbearable, given their turbulent relationship and her mother's notorious reputation. Lena knew that she needed to distance herself from her mother, and so she made the decision to not invite her to the wedding.
As she slipped into her beautiful white gown, Lena felt like a princess. The intricate design and delicate fabric hugged her curves in all the right places, making her look absolutely stunning. Her bridesmaids helped her with finishing touches, such as jewelry and makeup, and the result was breathtaking. Lena was ready for her special moment.
In his spacious suite, Peter was getting ready for the big day. His heart was racing with excitement and anticipation as he meticulously put on his suit and tie. Despite feeling nervous, he knew with certainty that marrying Lena was the right decision. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity, and now that it had finally arrived, he couldn't contain his excitement. He imagined spending the rest of his life with Lena, creating beautiful memories and sharing all of life's ups and downs together.
The ceremony took place in a beautiful church, which was filled with their friends and family. Lena walked down the aisle, and Spider-Man could not take his eyes off her. They exchanged their vows and were subsequently pronounced husband and wife.
After the ceremony, they held a reception at a nearby hotel. There was food, music, and dancing, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Lena and Spider-Man danced together, and they both felt joyful.
As the night drew to a close, Lena and Peter bid farewell to their guests and returned to their hotel room. Exhausted yet elated, they had just tied the knot, knowing that happiness would fill them both for the rest of their lives.
18 YEARS LATER:
The multiverse had been saved from the brink of collapse, and after confessing his love for Lena, Peter had married her. As their world slowly began to settle down, news arrived that turned their lives upside down once again. Lena was pregnant with their first child, and despite the excitement and joy that came with the news, they both knew that their lives were about to change forever. They embarked on a new journey, filled with anticipation, hope, and a bit of anxiety, as they prepared to welcome their little one into the world.
That brings us to today...
"Whooo!" A new Spider-Hero cheered as she swung from building to building as she made her way around National City.
She wore an Iron Spider Suit that combines several aspects of the suit from Peter's current Iron suit but also adds a more traditional look. Like Spider-Man's suit, its color scheme consists of red with some gold highlights, but it also includes some black highlights as well.
Meet Eliza Parker-Luthor. Daughter of Peter and Lena.
Eliza was running over and skidded across the building she found herself near and leaped off it. When she did, then she activated some web wings under her arms and started gliding throughout the city. She started to go as far as the glide could and landed on a flag pole.
"Good morning, National City!" Eliza cried out with cheer. She then heard what sounded like a cape floating and found her cousin floating behind her.
This would be Alura Zor-El. AKA, Alura Danvers. Mon-El didn't want to have her associated with his family after the whole... you know the invasion that happened because of his mother. Eliza was floating wearing a completely black version of her mother's suit with a blue cape. the S symbol on her suit was also different as it was more of a blood red.
"Good morning, Eliza." Alura greeted her cousin. "Finally got a functional suit?"
"Hey, the cloth thing was just a small phase." Elia defended.
"Your parents know this time?" Alura wonders. "Because I do not want to go another round against you because your mom and dad made me."
"They know." Eliza groaned. "It was one time."
"You tried to fight Metallo." Alura reminded her.
"How was I supposed to know that's who it was?" Eliza questioned. "He was just a guy I was supposed to fight because he was robbing a place!"
"I was just making sure." Alura sighed as she crossed her arms. "You wanna have breakfast?"
"If you're buying," Eliza replied.
Peter woke up he stood up and found Lena by his side. He smiled as he leaned over to kiss her on the cheek before getting up. He started to make his way around the place and noticed something odd. It was quiet. It didn't take him long to consider what happened as he opened the bedroom door to his daughter's room and noticed the window was open.
"Oh, great." Peter sighed as he walked down the corridor and made himself some coffee.
"Good morning, Mr. Parker." The residential AI of their home asks.
"Morning, Hope," Peter greeted the AI as he took a sip of his coffee. "Got that tracer locating Eliza?"
"She appears to currently be helping a lady find her way around the city." Hope showed the current location of where she was.
"Well, keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get in over her head. If there's any emergencies, then let me know." Peter said as he took another sip of his coffee. Then a gust of wind caused him to cause him to shake and spill his coffee all over his shirt. He groaned and seemed as if he was expecting that to happen. "You know, my daughter was much cleaner than you. She knew how to cry without causing me to spill something all over myself." He then turned to figure out which one he was supposed to be expecting. He expected an alien, just never knows which one. And today, it was Kara. "Morning, Kara."
"Hey." Kara greeted her friend with glee. "Late start?"
"Well, you and Mon-El were having your honeymoon, and I thought I could take Banshee without you. It just ended up causing me to lose a few hours of sleep." Peter groaned as he wiped his shirt which was covered with coffee. "Where's Alura?"
"She and Eliza were supposed to be hanging out," Kara informed her friend.
"Hope?" Peter called the AI.
"Confirmed," Hope replied.
"Doesn't this count as helicopter parenting?" Kara asks him.
"Not much as it was when J'onn watched over us on the field," Peter replied as he took a seat. "Besides, they should be safe out there. There haven't been any recent reports on evil, right?"
He was technically right. But things were about to get so much worse.
As a breach opened up, a familiar face fell through - none other than Gwen Stacy. This wasn't the same Gwen Stacy who had died on this Earth nearly two decades ago, but now her face had set foot in this world once again. Not to her surprise, she found herself right outside the DEO Desert Facility, and when she approached the computer system, she quickly realized that she could easily gain access to it. As it turns out, the DEO keeps backups of all their employee data, and when Gwen placed her hand among the scanners, she was a complete match for Gwen Stacy in their records.
With no difficulty, Gwen walked into the facility and started to search around for something. When she came across the agents who worked there, she didn't waste any time in spreading the powers that came with her. She was infused with the Symbiote of BRANCH-70134, which is commonly known as Carnage. She started spreading the Symbiote among the agents of the DEO and began scouring the internet for any information she could find. With the death of their leader Talia Al Ghul approaching, it was becoming harder for Gwen to sustain herself. She knew that there had to be a way to cure her of the Zombie Virus that was spreading among her cells, and she was determined to find it, no matter what.
Gwen muttered to herself as she searched through the history of this world, "There has to be something on this planet that can help me. Anything." That was when she came across an interesting fact about this world - it was home to Kryptonite, and there were many different versions of it. Gwen became curious and started to search through all of them, hoping that she would find something that could help her.
She discovered that Green Kryptonite severely weakens Kryptonians and can even kill them if they are exposed to it for long enough. Red Kryptonite has unexpected consequences, and what happens varies from exposure to exposure - it can turn a person into a dragon, cause excessive hair growth, or even give telepathy. Apparently, one version made Supergirl go mad. Gold Kryptonite is a rare form of the mineral that would destroy a Kryptonian's ability to process yellow sunlight, thus permanently removing their superpowers. However, it was not otherwise harmful to Kryptonian life. Blue Kryptonite has the same effect on Bizarros as Green Kryptonite does on normal Kryptonians, and it's also an antidote to the effects of Red Kryptonite. White Kryptonite kills all plant life, regardless of origin. Platinum Kryptonite gives Kryptonian powers to humans permanently, and Yellow Kryptonite implants fear into those who touch it.
As Gwen searched, she grew increasingly frustrated and angry. She snarled and punched the computer when she saw that there was nothing that could help her. But then, she stumbled upon a file that caught her attention: Harun-El. Harun-El is an incredible power source that is capable of powering the dome of Argo City, sustaining an ecosystem, and maintaining the artificial gravity on the asteroid that houses Argo. Additionally, Black Kryptonite serves as a miracle cure for any and every conceivable form of ailment or disease, as was proven true by Lena's thorough experimentation.
However, Gwen also discovered that the side effects of Black Kryptonite are potentially fatalistic superhuman abilities that put an enormous amount of stress on an organism's major metabolic functions. These side effects could include cardiac malfeasance, blurred vision, debilitating migraines, neurocognitive paralysis, nosebleeds, and other possible complications.
Despite the risks, Gwen saw that this could be the answer to their problems. All she needed to do was find out where the Harun-El was being kept. She searched throughout the entire database to figure out where the Harun-El was being held, and that was when she discovered that all of it was currently being kept at L-Corp. She also came across files on all the heroes in this world, and she knew that they were going to have to be kept busy if she was going to break into L-Corp without being detected.
"I guess that this means that this world is in for...an invasion." Gwen eyed all of the agents she already consumed into her Hive Mind.
Kara and Peter were talking when they started to get alerts. Looking down at the new wristwatches that Brainy made for them, they saw that there was some sort of disturbance going on downtown.
"What's going on?" Peter wondered.
Downtown, Alura, and Eliza were eating breakfast while laughing after Alura told her cousin about her time on Argo. That was when her senses alerted her of something and she looked around to figure out what was going on.
"What is it?" Alura saw she wasn't paying attention anymore. "You have those weird wide-eyed things you do when you are sensing something."
"Can't you hear anything?" Eliza asks.
Alura shrugged. "Fair enough."
Alura started to try and hear what was going on. But there was nothing. Then there was a horrifying screech, causing her to grab her ears to try and block the noise. Eliza stood up and ran down the corner to then morph into her Spider-Girl suit and got right to work. Running down the alley, Alura quickly followed and ripped her shirt to show she was wearing her Powergirl attire underneath.
Workshopping better names.
When they reached the sight of the attack, Mon-El came flying in and landed right in front of them. That's when he noticed that the girls were there as well. "What are you two doing here?"
"We were having breakfast down the street." Eliza defended as she pointed down the street.
"Well, what is going on down here?" Mon-El asked as he looked around. He took a few steps around to see nothing but an empty street. That was a little weird, but there was no sign of anyone, which is weird in itself. "This is weird, right?"
"A quiet street in National City? Something is definitely off." Alura stated as she looked around with her x-ray vision.
Eliza's senses went off just when a window was shattered, and they watched as a symbiote-infested human came crashing through the window and seemed to have the intention of taking them. Mon-El worked fast as he punched the Symbiote-infested person and sent them flying into a car.
"What the hell was that?" Mon-El asked.
"Whatever it was..." Alura looked down the street and noticed a swarm of them coming their way. "...it had friends."
Mon-El started to panic as he noticed they were about to be swarmed in seconds. "We gotta move, now." He then turned and grabbed onto the girls. "NOW!"
As Mon-El and the girls found themselves in a perilous situation, they quickly realized that they needed to leave the area to avoid any further harm. Mon-El took to the skies, with the girls in tow, unsure of where to go or what to do next. After some deliberation, they decided to head for the DEO hoping to get some answers and formulate a plan.
Meanwhile, a swarm of Symbiotes had descended upon the area, wreaking havoc and causing widespread panic. The alien parasites took down anyone in their path, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake. As people tried to flee, they found that they were being quickly corrupted by the Symbiotes, making it increasingly difficult to escape.
Amid the terror, another portal suddenly opened, unleashing Peter Supreme and Gwen Stacy onto the scene. They were on a mission to find yet another member of the Spider Society but were immediately caught up in the chaos caused by the Symbiotes.
"What the hell did we walk into the middle of?" Gwen asks.
Peter Supreme went from annoyance to cheering. "What?! A Symbiote invasion? Yes!"
Gwen was confused to see how excited he was. "You like Symbiote invasions?"
"Are you kidding? These guys are my bread and butter." Peter Supreme stated as a Symbiote tried to tackle him, right when he turned and used the Raging Fire of Faltine.
That was a spell that allowed him to remove the traces of the Symbiote from the individual and allowed them to run away while on fire. The fire wouldn't harm them; it was merely there to help keep them safe from the Symbiotes trying to corrupt them again. The effect would wear off in a few hours, and it wouldn't harm anyone who wasn't a Symbiote.
"I love fighting these guys. They are the least dangerous thing I fight in my life." Peter said as he used a shield to stop a much bigger one from attacking with a forcefield. "I should tell you about the time I tried to break a peace treaty between Earth and Knull." Then he conjured the Vapors of Valtorr to create a smokescreen for them to escape through. Peter brought him and Gwen to the other side of town, where they saw at least a block or two had been turned into Symbiotes. "I ended up killing him and stealing his sword as a trophy."
Gwen looked at Peter in shock, but it wasn't surprising. "Okay, so where do we go from here?"
Peter considered what his next move would be, knowing that the Symbiotes couldn't be the answer. "Remember what Norman said to the witch?"
"About him looking for a cure?" Gwen recalled what they had heard. "Sure. But a cure for what again?"
"Someone important obviously." Peter Supreme took an easy guess. "Someone that this evil version of me is..." That was an idea that came to his mind. "His beloved." Then he looked towards Gwen. "I became Sorcerer Supreme to try and save you in my world. And I only held myself back because of my morals."
"So, this is a version of you with no morals." Gwen was half following what he was saying. "And is losing the woman that he loves."
"And he has gained access to all of time and space." Peter Supreme whispered in fear. "He's looking for a way to cure her."
"Can't he do that with the Stones?" Gwen asks.
"Not if she caught the disease through the multiverse. The stones can only alter the universe that they are from." Peter Supreme reminded her. "He can keep her young and healthy, but if he's like me, he wants the idea to grow old with the woman he loves."
"That's... almost romantic," Gwen commented.
"He's conquering the BRANCHES not only for him to spread HYDRA's rule, but so that he could save her." Peter Supreme figured it out. "The Cosmic Rod wasn't a weapon, he was hoping it would cure her."
"You sure you aren't Batman in another life?" Gwen wonders.
"I am friends with Batman in many universes and even one where he's my father." Peter Supreme admitted. "Another where he is my brother. And one where he is my sister."
Gwen wasn't sure where to go with that knowledge. "I don't know where to go from there."
The entire team of heroes met back up at the DEO as they were coming together to figure out what the heck was going on. Dream Team was unaccounted for, as it seemed they were already hard at work evacuating the areas these creatures were infecting.
"Okay, now this is a normal Wednesday." Kara sighed as she approached Brainy, Alex, and J'onn. "What the heck is going on?"
"Seems to be a Symbiote invasion." Mon-El is always there to state the obvious.
"Okay, but where did they come from?" Peter asks. "We destroyed the Symbiote years ago when it connected to Ned."
"And we scoured the planet to assure there was no trace of it." Brainy concurred with that one. "So, the question remains, where did they come from?"
"We lost contact with the Desert Facility, maybe that's where the infection began." Alex offered them.
"Alright, me and Mon-El will check it out." Kara offered. "Make sure the Dream Team is doing fine on the way."
"And we'll go get the anti-Symbiote weapons out of storage." Lena offered as she walked past her daughter, grabbing her by the arm. "Come on, I am gonna need your help with this."
Peter Supreme was still using his spells, this time to create a portal to send a swarm of Symbiotes somewhere else. He sighed as one tried to attack him from behind, but he grabbed it by the neck, smashing the alien into the ground before yanking the human free. Gwen was hard at work, connecting her webs to electrical sockets or transformers to connect them to the people infused by the Symbiotes. They were hard at work trying to save this world so they could find a way of stopping this Spider Society from conquering the BRANCHES. Seeing they ended a second to consider their move, he created a shield around them for protection as a swarm of Symbiotes tried to break through.
"What is so special about this dimension?" Gwen asked as she ran over towards Peter Supreme for safety. "Why come here? What could cure someone?"
"Well, if this is what I think it is..." Peter Supreme started to search the dimensions to see what world they were in. "A BRANCH of Earth-38 before it merged with Earth-1. Kryptonians, aliens, and a whole lot of alien powers."
"Any of them that can heal?" Gwen asks.
Peter gave her a slight eye. "It's a standard superpower. But most of them won't work well to merge with humans."
"How do you know that H's 'beloved' is human?" Gwen wonders.
"If she wasn't, his own blood should be able to cure her. Whatever this is, only a cure from the multiverse could save her." Peter Supreme tried to look all over all of the timelines for an answer. "It could be anything. ALZ-113. Ophiocordyceps unilateralis fungus. The Zombie Virus. I mean, the list goes on and on."
"Okay, but what could cure all of them?" Gwen asks.
"Uh..." Peter Supreme stopped searching for diseases and clapped his hands together, stretching them out to see all of the differences in this timeline from the main continuity. Then a second thought came to his mind: he started to search for all the similarities between the two worlds. "Myriad? Definitely not. Solar Hammer? Earth-TUD25's hammer was cooler. Lex's Kryptonite suits? Useless, they have the Adaptoids. Image Inducers? Useless."
Gwen started to see his distracted thinking had caused his shields to become weaker and they began to crack. "Uh...Pete? I don't mean to rush you, but would you mind please hurrying up?"
"You wanna search an entire history of a timeline in seconds?" Peter Supreme dared her. "I am researching years of thousands of years of life in the seconds it would- oh, wait." He finally found what he was looking for. "I might have something." Then he pulled up giant chunks of rock that made Gwen think of the Infinity Stones. "Kryptonite."
"Okay, what is it with the multiverse and making colorful rocks from space?" Gwen asks in slight frustration.
"Yeah, I don't know what that's about either." Peter Supreme actually agreed with her. "These Kryptonites have strange properties that if given to people...could change them. But there is one specific one. Harun-El. That is the best-case scenario for what might happen."
"Okay. What would be the worst-case scenario?" Gwen asks. "For us at least."
"Well, if they ended up using it, we would have to eventually face a Worldkiller." Peter Supreme brought up the history of this world's history with World Killers. Reign, and all of the others alike. Pestilence, Purity, and Pestilence. "And I don't wanna do that."
"Okay, what would be the worst-case scenario for them?" Gwen asks.
"His beloved dies?" Peter Supreme shrugged.
"Best case scenario for us?" Gwen wanted to know.
"She dies from Harun-El's sickness. If you do one thing wrong, then you could easily make things worse." Peter Supreme said, creating a portal underneath them so they could escape. "Let's just try and stop whichever other sick version of Spider-Man he sent to kill us or grab whatever he wants."
"Where does this lead?" Gwen wonders.
"The only place that houses Harun-El in this galaxy." Peter Supreme said as he dived into the portal, only to end right way up when he made it through.
Gwen made the mistake of diving through the portal like it was jumping down the rabbit hole. I mean, she kinda was as gravity turned upside down as she had to catch herself on several web lines. "Show off."
Peter sighed as he closed the portal before more of the Symbiotes could slip through. Gwen then looked and noticed that they were currently in some high-tech facility. "Welcome to L-Corp. Commonly once known as LexCorp once upon a time."
"LexCorp?" Gwen asked as she looked around. "This some evil facility?"
"Once." A new voice called, causing them both to spin and get into defensive positions. They saw Carnage come around the corner, carrying a container that contained Harun-El inside of it. "But Lexy's little sister decided to make it more about humanity."
"Oh, god, is that me with a Symbiote?" Gwen asks in shock.
"Okay, I have to admit, I should have seen that coming." Peter Supreme admitted. "I might have a weird obsession with you in a few realities."
"You think?" Gwen asks.
Kara and Mon-El made it to the Desert Facility and saw that everything looked to be normal. Kara tried to use her X-ray vision, but there was no looking inside with the place coated with lead.
"Looks like we're doing this the old-fashioned way." Kara sighed as she approached and used her eyes to open the door with the scanner. "Let's figure out what happened."
Entering the facility, there was a lot of silence. There was eerie dripping made the two of them wander the halls to figure out what was going on. They found what looked to be some sort of goo leaking from the ceiling. Kara reached and nearly touched it, but knew better than to actually touch it.
"Looks like something from a horror movie," Mon-El commented as he walked aside Kara. "And considering everything we have been through..."
"Yeah, I agree." Kara sighed as she walked up to the computers. "Let's see what they can tell us about what happened here.
Going through the surveillance of the inside, they watched as they sped through it, they saw the agents being taken over by these alien creatures one by one. Not one of these agents didn't get corrupted by these creatures. Then they finally got to who was responsible for the chaos and were shocked. They watched as Gwen Stacy approached the console and spotted the camera before using a tentacle to stretch out and shatter it.
"Gwen?" Kara was shocked to see she was back.
"But...didn't she die, like, twenty years ago?" Mon-El asked.
"Looks like she got a fragment of the Symbiote and was resurrected. Likely the same way that Ned was." Kara took a valid guess. "She must be the hive mind of the entire Symbiote."
"So, we need to find her." Mon-El took a guess.
"Brainy, I need you to start a search out for any reference to Gwen Stacy." Kara contacted the DEO. "She seems to be the one spreading the Symbiote to everyone."
"Gwen Stacy?" Brainy was surprised to hear that. "If she has a Symbiote, it could mean chaos."
"That's why we need to find her," Kara confirmed.
"Wait, I am getting reports of what appears to be a break-in at L-Corp. Someone had found Lena Luthor's stash of Harun-El. Spider-Man is already en route."
Kara and Mon-El knew that would mean trouble and quickly raced off to try and reach the location.
"Put down the rock." Peter Supreme demanded Carnage Gwen.
"Now why would I do that?" Carnage asks as she tanged the container. "It's such a pretty thing. And like everyone says, a diamond is a girl's best friend."
"Ugh, I listen to too many radio stations," Gwen muttered.
"How old even is that song? How old are you?" Peter wonders.
"I was dead for a decade or so before my Peter brought me back." Carnage Gwen admitted.
"Ah, that one." Peter Supreme knows how the real events of that world turned out. "Yeah, now I get it."
"I don't," Gwen whispered.
"I'll explain later." Peter Supreme whispered. "It's too long a story to get into right now."
"You will have plenty of time to get into it." Carnage Gwen said as she opened a portal out of this dimension. "Farewell."
Before she could enter the portal, Supergirl came flying at high speeds and rammed Gwen, sending her flying into the wall. Kara sighed when she saw that none of the Symbiote got on her, and then noticed there was another version of Gwen, as well as another version of Spider-Man.
"Another one?" Kara asked.
Mon-El and Peter then appeared to find the entire scene in front of them. "What the hell?" Both of them asked.
Carnage Gwen sighed as she saw she couldn't open a portal fast enough to escape with them coming after her constantly. She needed to keep them out of her way so she could open a portal and escape with the Harun-El.
"You wanna do it this way?" Carnage Gwen asked as she allowed the Symbiote to consume her. "Then...let there be..." She started to grow as her entire body was consumed by the Symbiote and she grew what looked to be some sort of crown on her head. "...CARNAGE!"
Then eerie screeching came from all around them and got all of their attention as they looked around the room and wondered where it was coming from. That was when dozens of Symbiotes started to ram into the building.
Mon-El was the first to take a swing at one of them when they came at him and sent it flying into the wall. Kara saw the creature was injured and grabbed Mon-El before he could take another swing.
"Remember, there are innocent creatures inside these things." Kara reminded her husband. "No killing."
"Tell that to them!" Mon-El cried as he grabbed one by the throat, this time grabbing it by the throat and yanking the person from within it. "And who are the other two."
Peter Supreme used his magic to send a giant orb of fire into the room to scorch the nearest people of the Symbiote. "Peter Supreme!" He then looked to see Gwen was webbing people to the ceiling. "That's Gwen Stacy! We're from the multiverse! And so is that other Spider-Carnage-Gwen."
"Why did she take the Harun-El?" Kara asked as she used her freeze-breath to stop the Symbiotes.
"Long story short: as a cure!" Gwen cried as she swung down and kicked a Symbiote into a dozen other Symbiotes at once. "We just need to stop her."
"Where is she?" Peter of this dimension asked.
They looked and saw that Carnage-Gwen was already gone. "Oh, great." Peter Supreme sighed.
Carnage-Gwen finally made it to an opening where she could open the portal. She then finally found an opening and created a breach back to her home dimension. Before she could enter it, her senses alerted her of something approaching, and looked around.
"Who is there? My minions should have dealt with you by now." Carnage-Gwen stated.
Then out of nowhere, Gwen was smashed into when Alura flew her through three walls and crashed her into the ground. Eliza came in swinging when she noticed the portal and approached it with curiosity. She was looking at it and felt the outer rim of it and could feel the interdimensional energy.
"Hope, can you give me a reading on this thing?" Eliza asked.
Back with Alura, she was punching Carnage-Gwen in the face before using her heat vision to try and burn the Symbiote off of her. Carnage-Gwen fought back as she created a spiky fist and punched her with it, sending Alura flying through the air before smashing into the ceiling. When she fell back down, Carnage-Gwen then punched her again, this time sending her into the wall.
Eliza was still looking over the portal in surprise. "Amazing. Some sort of inner dimensional gateway."
"Very fascinating!" Alura cried as she flew and rammed Carnage-Gwen quickly. "Now can I get some help over here?!" Carnage-Gwen then yanked Alura by the throat and slammed her into the ground. "I could use it!"
Eliza turned and saw the danger and nodded. "Oh, right, yeah." She then took out a small grenade and tossed it. "Duck!"
When the grenade went off, a whole lot of Anti-Venom exploded from it, and started burning the Symbiote off of her. Carnage-Gwen cried in pain and screamed in agony as she fought to keep the Symbiote on her.
"Yeah, we didn't have much in the way of Symbiote killers except for the literal Symbiote killer." Eliza joked.
The other heroes watched as the Symbiotes screamed in pain while they saw that the Hive mind must be in danger. Making their way down the halls, they searched for the disturbance.
Back with Carnage-Gwen, she could feel herself being weakened by the Anti-Venom, but she wasn't going to go down without having the last laugh. Using a nearly liquid tentacle, she swiped and smashed Eliza clear away from the portal. When Alura tried to come in and strike, a tidal wave of slime came in and consumed her just as the Anti-Venom scorched it away.
Gwen could feel her powers dying, and she was dying without them. But she crawled towards the portal with what little life she had left.
DARK BRANCHES:
Peter H and Talia waited at the other end of the portal, not expecting it to be just the destroyed corpse of their ally. Gwen didn't make it back. Only her dead body and the rock in her hand. She had come with the one thing she hoped to save Talia. Harun-El.
Peter H sighed when he saw that one more of his allies had been killed in this battle. Talia approached her beloved, knowing he was angry at yet another loss.
"What do we do now?" Talia asks him.
Peter H knew they were only going to keep on coming. Again and again. And he needed time if he was going to heal Talia and still complete his plans.
"Get me Spider-Man of Earth-2149." Peter H demanded as he stood up, showing no emotion. "These two want to play hero? Then I'll give them a shot at saving a dying dimension." He then used the power of the Infinity Stones to show him one of the worlds and held Talia close. "And whole they do that, we will save you...and finish what we started."
"Conquer all of time and space." Talia smiled as she saw their plan was fairly being completed. "How?"
Peter H looked down at the rock and had the same question. "I'll have to ask the Science Department to figure out how this works."
DIMENSION-1082:
"So...that wasn't our Gwen Stacy?" Kara wanted clarified.
Peter Supreme was getting a little annoyed with the constant repetition. "Yes."
"And you guys are chasing down evil spider people across the galaxy?" Mon-El asked.
even Gwen was getting sick of the repeated questions. "Yes."
"So why did she steal some Harun-El?" Lena asks. "I mean, it's going to take a super genius to figure out how to work it."
"And he is one." Peter Supreme sighed. "Look, we would love to stay and explain everything, but we have to go." He the opened a portal, watching it fritz out before shutting down. "Okay, that might be a problem."
"What happened? Gwen asked.
"Seems when we killed her, we couldn't follow. And we missed our chance to go through her portal." Petter Supreme sighed. "Okay, we need to find some way of following. If only I had a glimpse of the portal."
"Oh, I did." Eliza told him. "I looked into it, and even managed to get a scan of it." Eliza said. "Hope?"
Hope then showed all of the information she gathered. "If you want, I might be able to-"
"Thats okay, that's all I needed." Peter Supreme said as he grabbed Eliza's head, gathering everything from what she saw. He used the Third Eye of his to look into her mind and scout how to open a portal to follow the next location they went for. "Got it."
A breach opened, seemingly not just thanks to him but also because the Watcher appeared and helped. "I don't know where this portal leads, frankly I was only enhancing what you were already accomplishing."
"Thanks. I guess." Peter Supreme said. "Let's go."
"And on to dimension number six." Gwen sighed as she ran into the portal behind Peter.
