Please R & R.
…
Two months later, Ace and Graham are standing almost too close in the meeting as Yaz walks in the room with someone only one other person has met. Graham back is to them and is smiling talking to Ace who looks past him when the door opens. "What are you looking at?"
"It looks like we have a new member for the meeting."
"What do you mean?"
"Turn around, why don't you."
The figure walks up behind them, "I agree, you have been wanting for me to come home and you can't even face me."
"Ryan," Graham turns and faces his grandson. "You're home?"
"Home to stay," Graham brings Ryan into a hug as Ace steps back to let them have a moment smiling watching them reunite.
"You're serious about coming home and staying home?"
"I am, Kate overed me a job as a video analyst and I said yes."
"That's great, I am going to have my favorite people in easy access, speaking of my favorite people." Graham faces Ace who smiles broadly at him, Graham holds out his hand; "Ace." She takes his hand, "this is Ryan, Ryan this is Ace."
"Nice to finally meet you, Grandad here hasn't stopped talking about you for nearly a year." Graham's cheeks grow crimson.
Ace turns to face him as Tegan who was not gone for long replies, "and so did she. We were already seeing him often enough."
"He was coming to the foundation often enough for lunch for Ace and I."
"What those two aren't saying, it's good to meet you Ryan, they are my best mates and besides my brother, Liam, they are the closest thing I have to family." Ace lets go of Graham's hand and brings Ryan into a hug, "I hope you don't mind; I am a hugger."
"So was my Nan." That just makes Ace squeeze Ryan a little tighter.
"I have told Graham this, if any of you want to talk about her, I would love to hear all the stories I can."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Why wouldn't I be, she was a wonderful woman," Ace looks deeply into Ryan's eyes in a non romantic way.
"Ryan, one of the things that makes Ace so beautiful in my eyes is her big heart."
"You have said that many times, Grandad."
"His heart is also big," Ace's eyes shine as she says this. "He is also the best chief I have ever known."
"You like his food?"
"Ace has been trying to convince me to at least open a food truck."
"When would you do that?"
"After everything with Paul is done, we are still waiting for a court date."
"Graham there has been no word from him since that day, I think you will be ok to find one soon."
"Right now I just want to cook for you and our families."
"You have always been a good cook," adds Ryan. Kate walks up to them.
"We should get started soon, someone has the room after us." Everyone moves to the circle of chairs Ryan sits in between Yaz and Graham, and Ace sits on Graham's other side.
"Whose turn is it to start," Graham asks the room.
"It's your turn Honey-Bear." The room laughs at the nickname.
"Ok then, even though we have a new member today, he already knows about why I started these meetings."
"What, you don't want an excuse to share a long look with Ace while everyone else is finding someone else." Tegan teases.
"I don't need one, Ace and I have been basically living together for two months."
"Grandad, there is no basically about it, I am surprised you haven't fully moved in yet." Ace looks at Graham and Ryan catches it. "Is there something to share?"
"Ace and I have talked about it, but we were waiting for you and her to meet."
"Why?"
"Ryan," Ace interjects, "you are important to Graham and thus important to me, so we needed your approval."
"Why, it's not like you two are getting married and having kids."
"One of those is out of the question."
"Kids?"
"Yes Ryan, kids. Moving in together is one step to spring the rest of our lives together."
"Can you three discuss this later, I have something to talk about."
"What is it," asks Jo Grant-Jones to Kate's right.
"Remember how in the first meeting I talked about asking if some of you may want to join UNIT."
"Kate, I will do it after everything is done. Nys, are you ok with taking on more, if I start to go back and forth between the two?"
"Graham?"
"I don't know, maybe sometimes." Ace looks into Graham's eyes.
"You are thinking about opening something to showcase your food aren't you?"
"Not for a while, I am serious that right now cooking for our families is my main goal."
"Let's just end the meeting and let the family have their reunion." Kate gets up and puts away her chair.
"Umm," Ace says as she gets up and runs after Kate. "KATE."
"Yes Ace?"
"I am sorry for what is going on in there."
"I am just frustrated that the lot of you and Osgoods are the only people I can really talk to, and all of you have someone important in your life. It doesn't usually bother me, but for some reason it does today."
"There is usually one half of a couple missing, usually Nyssa, but Tegan convinced her somehow."
"Ryan was a surprise for the both of you. Tegan and Yaz knew about it."
"So Tegan probably told her that she might see a different side of Graham."
"And you, you were a little nervous meeting your future Step-Grandson."
"Graham hasn't fully moved in yet."
"Most of his things are at yours, aren't they?"
"Yes, including some pictures with him and Grace and Ryan."
"He has been staying at yours for how many months?"
"Two."
"Together, how much longer than that?"
"One month, and your next question, flirting and talking every chance we got."
"It was obvious for everyone that the two of you liked each other a lot."
"Graham and I have talked about this too, but I should head back in, see you later Kate."
"Bye Ace." Kate walks away as Ace reenters the hall to find the man who has captured her whole heart.
"Then boom," Ace walks up to them.
"What are you guys talking about?"
"Graham is just telling us about the first batch of Nitro he helped you make," Tegan informs her friend. "Does he often make some with you, or a different kind of explosion?"
"Grandson is right here ya know, I do not need that mental picture thank you."
"Graham has been helping me with the timers," Ace takes Graham's hand in her own. "Now about you four join us for dinner tonight."
"No thank you, Adric is coming home tonight and we want to spend time with him."
"I am on my way to Sheffield to see my family."
"Ryan?"
"I can eat." Ace laughs. "What's so funny?"
"Your Grandad says that often."
"Oi," Ace looks at Graham.
"You can't deny that Graham. One of your favorite things to do is eat."
Tegan whispers into Nyssa's ear, "I wonder what all he likes to do."
"Tegan, not right now." Nyssa makes her farewells gives both Ace and Graham a kiss on the cheek then grabs her wife's hand and the two leave.
"Ryan, do you want to follow us?"
"Sure," they all leave the building.
