Chapter 6
The last image Emilie saw before she blacked out was the frantic look on her husband's face as she collapsed onto the floor.
When she woke up, things were very different. Emilie found herself in a ghost like state, her sleeping body in a coffin like pod that she really didn't like how it looked. She did like the suit she was wearing but the flower made it seem like she was completely gone and just waiting for burial.
It looked like more of a shrine then a place of rest. Ugh. She loved her husband dearly but he tend to get a little obsessed at times. The trip to China for their 3rd honeymoon was nice. The fanning servants catering to her every need was a bit much. She can wash her own body, thank you very much.
Sadly she couldn't interact with anyone. At first it didn't bother her, but as time went on Emilie got really, really frustrated.
Especially when her Gabriel started to use his Miraculousfor the wrong reason. "Love listen to Nooroo, he's right, this isn't the way. And I'm an invisible in between person. Great."
Emilie felt faint as Gabriel reached out for the negative emotions of the young man who was heartbroken, blacking out as he sent the butterfly away. When she woke up she was back in the shrine, weaker then before. 'What just happened?' The love she felt from her husband perked her up a bit so she went off to see what was happening in her home.
She was appalled to learn that her son was fighting his father, unknown to him. She did chuckle a bit at Plagg. He was a dear and clearly needed to be snuggled. She couldn't wait to meet him properly and give him the scratch behind the ears for keeping an eye on her son, unlike the adults that 'cared for him'. Paul she knew was doing the best that he could, but Nathalie and Gabriel knew better.
But first she needed to check up on her son. It was the second time that she interacted negatively when Hawkmoth was around. She was getting suspicion. Emilie really hoped that everything was alright.
At first Emilie was upset that Adrien run away from home to attend school, they had the best tutors available, but that was before she saw her son's 'schedule'. It made her eyes widen in horror. She knew that they kept Adrien busy, but even when she was growing up it wasn't like that. She knew that young people needed downtime, keeping busy all the time wasn't healthy.
That and keeping her son from a hosting a birthday party?! That was just not done. It would have been a great place for Adrien to learn how to host events, formal and informal, but no Gabriel had to be unreasonable. If she was able to be there, she would of like to learn more about Adrien's friends.
Emilie thought Chloe was a dear, who had a good heart but really needed to grow up, but she was thrilled to have Adrien make a male friend. He needed that interaction, Felix wasn't who she thought he was from what she could tell if she concentrated hard enough to see what was going on with her sister's family. It was iffy at best but she got what she needed. From what she could tell the rest of his class was pretty good for his social interactions as well.
Emilie suddenly felt faint again just before she reached her son's room and when she woke up again for the third time she was back in the shrine.
Emilie as a lady usually didn't cuss, but she let loose a few choice words that she learned in college. She found herself in her son's room listing what she knew of the situation since his love was strong and she found herself with more energy then with her husband.
"First, I'm in a limbo probably because I never let Duusu go, so that means I'm still here, but can't interact with anyone." She waved her hand through Plagg. "Even with the kawamis. Second, there is a guardian in Paris so that means that Gabriel after he drew out the ladybug and chat noir Miraculousshould have tried to contact the guardian to get my brooch fixed instead of that stupid wish. I'm still here, and Gabriel don't you realize that I might be here but our son might died?!"
Emilie's green eyes snapped with a passion that made her husband fall in love with her. "That is if I'm remembering my lore correctly. I do know more Chinese then you do husband. Third," Emilie's face fell as she watched her son interact with Plagg a sad smile hovering around her lips. "If you keep this up Gabriel I won't know you anymore. I know the man I feel in love with is still in there somewhere."
When she saw the order for the wax museum for Hawkmoth's victims, foes and allies and saw what Gabriel subconscious put on each of his orders, her smile if anyone could see it was beaming. She was crackling every time she woke up from the ever draining blackouts she experienced when Hawkmoth used people's negative emotions.
She stopped crackling when Gabriel roped Nathalie in his scheme. It made her blackouts worse and it made her sad that she couldn't be there to tell Nathalie again that Gabriel wouldn't ever love her the way he loved Emilie. She felt that in time if she ever got back to normal she would have to ship Nathalie off to one of the other offices around the world.
Ironically at times Nathalie's positive emotions of her drive and love helped counter some of Gabriel's negative emotions and kept Emilie going.
Suddenly without warning Emilie gasped, energy flooding her system that she didn't expect, it was like a shot of espresso after not having caffeine for a while. She blackout from the overload and when she woke up this time, it was a lot harder.
She lifted her heavy eyes to see the old man who was the guardian, but drifted off a second later.
The next time she opened her eyes it was more natural, and she was able to sit up and drink some water that Master Fu as he introduced himself gave her.
"How are you doing?" Master Fu asked as he gently took Wayzz from her lap and let Duusu to come squealing. "Oh you're awake! I missed you so much." Emilie lifted her hands and Duusu snuggled into them as she did many times before before settling on her hair with a sigh.
"So how was Nathalie as a Mistress?" Emilie asked as Master Fu left to give them some privacy.
Duusu sniffled and settled down more firmly in her hair which made Emilie smile. It was Duusu signature I love you move. "She was a good mistress, but our relationship was more professional then ours."
"Wait! How did you know that Nathalie was my mistress?" Duusu flew out of Emilie's hair and turned to see her face, which was serious.
"I was here the entire time since Hawkmoth was active. I never gave you up so that tied me to this place and to your brooch. Let Nathalie and the others know that. Also before you let the others know, I need to speak to Nathalie alone." Emilie's eyes burned with determined fire.
