"Kalle. Kalle. Kalle!" I hear someone screaming my name. "Wake up!" I open my eyes to see that I was laying on the Gilbert's couch. Next to me is Elena, confused but still angry. It looks like she was waking me up.

Oh. I was dreaming again. For some reason, over the last couple of days, my dreams have been memories. But why am I having all these flashbacks for? The last thing I need right now is these memories.

"What were you dreaming about? You kept muttering in your sleep 'To do something, to stop it from happening'". Elena stated, seeming worried but not too worried.

"Oh. It was nothing. Just a bad dream I guess." I shrug it off. I try to change the subject. "Uh, where's Bonnie and Jeremy?"

"Jeremy is upstairs, and Bonnie left a few minutes ago." Elena stated.

"What? Where did she go?" I got up surprised. She wanted me to play babysitter, while she just left? Absolutely not.

"No idea. But I guess something with a moonstone, but she should really be bringing down the spell on the tomb." Elena states, still annoyed, back to her angered self.

"Oh, so glad you have not let this go." I state rolling my eyes. The door opens and I get up to see who it is.

"Oh, look what the cat dragged in." Rolling my eyes, I make my way back to the couch. Elena looks to see who it is.

"You should really lock your door. Anyone could come in." Damon said, stopping at the corner. Elena just kept her mad face, and Damon continued to talk.

"Aw, come on, pouty. At least give me points for ingenuity." Damon states, cockily. Is he always like this?

"You think this is funny?", Elena asked annoyed.

"Yes Elena. I found hilarity in the links I have to go to repeatedly save your life." Damon immediately states back. "But hey at least we have another person to drag along on this long ride." Damon states looking at me.

I looked behind me to see if he was talking about someone else, because I knew for a fact that he wasn't talking about me. "Slow down, Emo Boy. If she's on a suicide mission, I'm not going to dive in and take a bullet for her."

"At least someone here realizes they don't have to put their life on the line for me." Elena states, but then she questions, "Wait, why are you still here then?"

"I like challenges." I shrug my shoulders. Damon smirks at me.

"I knew there was something I liked about you." Damon says, smiling, and both Elena and I roll our eyes at his remark.

"And what does Stefan have to say about all of this?" Elena asked.

"We had a good laugh." Damon stated, making his way to the couch.

"And what did he say about Elijah still being alive?" Elena asked, interested in what Damon would say.

"Yeah, I didn't tell him." Damon says, sitting in the other side of Elena. Honestly, I'm not very surprised. Stefan doesn't sound like the type to take it well.

"Why not?" Elena asks.

"Well A he can't do anything about it and B...what I just said." Damon states with a smirk. This is coming from the same guy who used the word ingenuity.

"Um, where's Bonnie?" Damon asks, and I react confused.

"Wait, I thought she was with you?" I ask, and Jeremy makes his way downstairs.

"No, she's on moonstone duty while I'm on Elena watch; in case you decide to dip." Damon states, looking knowingly at me, and I roll my eyes.

"Then who's on Tyler Lockwood and the full moon?" Jeremy states as he walks into the living room. Both Elena and I look at Jeremy, shocked.

"Vampire Barbie asked if she could handle it; I figured, if she screwed something, he'd bite her, and I'd be rid of two of my problems." Damon says, smirking. Do they believe a bite will just kill a vampire immediately? Oh, they don't know the truth. Of course they don't; I mean, how could I expect them to? They just found out about werewolves not too long ago.

"Wait wait wait. There's a full moon tonight?" Elena asks as I'm wondering the same thing. How did I not know there was a full moon?

"Yes. But you were too locked up in your suicidal tendencies to notice." Damon states getting up from the couch to answer his phone.

"Um, I can go help out Caroline with the werewolf problem." I state as I get off the couch.

"How will you know what to do?" Elena asks.

"I have met a few werewolves in the past, and they're not something to play with. A vampire is screwed if he/she is bitten by one." I state, trying to convince them to let me leave.

"We have to watch over Elena." Jermery states, and Elena rolls her eyes.

"Caroline's life might be in danger, so let Kalle go protect her." Elena tells Jeremy, and I agree with her statement.

"Yeah. Besides, Damon is here. You have him." I state.

"You're not going anywhere." Damon says as he gets off his call. "Change of plans. You have to babysit."

"What? I thought you said it was your turn." I asked, annoyed at him.

"Not anymore. I have a problem I need to solve before another werewolf finds out and kills us all." Damon stated, making us all confused.

"Okay. Well I can he-"

"No, we need someone to protect Elena, and I highly doubt that Jeremy can do it." Damon says, interrupting me.

"Hey!" Jeremy, who is offended, but Damon and I ignore him.

"Barbie has Tyler covered so stop worrying about it and look after Elena. You are still earning our trust and if you leave, that will just make us question you more. So just stay here and protect Elena like you originally promised you would help us with. " Damon says, not even trying to argue anymore.

I glare at him angrily because he believes he can just talk to me like this. But I know he is right too. I've only been here for a few days. I need to earn their full trust so I'm not let out of anything. So instead of arguing with him again, I just plop down on the couch in defeat, right next to Elena. Jeremy lies down right on Elena's lap, with his head touching my lap.

"Thank you." He stated looking at me. "Hey Elena, you should get out; enjoy the sun. Oh wait. You can't." He stated mockingly.

Elena threw a pillow at him, and both Jeremy and Damon laughed. As Damon left, Elena pushed Jeremy off of her.

"Are you always this boring?" I ask Elena as I watch her just read. "I mean all you have been doing is reading."

"I'm trying to find out how to let Stefan out of the tomb." Elena states not picking her head from the book. "You don't have to stay and watch."

"Actually, I do feel sad because I have to keep watch over you." I state.

"Then do it quietly." Elena states, still not looking at me. I roll my eyes and start looking around her room. I look at the pictures on her dresser.

"Aww. This is cute." I say, holding a picture of her and Stefan. She finally looks up from the book. "I didn't know Stefan was a football player."

"Put that down." Elena states making her way to me, but I move away. "Give me it."

"What? It's just a picture. Relax." I say, giving the photo back to her, and she just grabs it out of my hand. "Rude."

"Look, I don't want you to be here and you don't want to be here. So how about we compromise by you leaving." Elena states, putting the photo back on the dresser. I ignore her and look at the amount of books she is reading about lifting powerful spells.

"You know, there is a way to lift the tomb without it killing the witch." I state, and Elena's face lights up.

"Really? How?" Elena asked, intrigued.

"By permanently lifting the tomb. That way, the witch is not focused only on lifting a portion of the spell, which requires more energy."

Elena's face dropped. "You know we can't. Otherwise, Katherine would be released."

"Exactly. I understand you want Stefan to be free, but there will be a cost. I'm trying to get you to realize that." I state.

"Well, I'm not giving up." Elena stated, making her way back to the books. I finally decided to ask the question that had been bothering me since I saw Katherine in the tomb.

"Why don't you just kill Katherine? I mean, you can get Stefan out of the tomb, and Katherine will no longer be a problem. Sounds like a win-win to me." I asked, confused. They all seemed to hate Katherine, but they kept her alive. Elena looked at me, about to give an answer, but she didn't seem to have one. It was weird.

"Let me guess. Your two lovers still feel a connection to her, that they have to keep her alive." I mock and Elena closes her book in rage.

"Look, I get it. You want our trust. But I can't leave here anyways, so you are not doing any good just staying here." She states moving on from our conversation.

"Right. You can't leave, but a vampire can compel themselves to come in here." I state, sitting on her bed.

"Jeremy and I have vervain, so we can't be compelled."

"No, but what about that aunt of yours? She can still be compelled, right?" I ask, and I can see it in Elena's face, realizing that I am right.

All of sudden I get this chill. I sense something. Wait, I know this feeling.

"What's wrong?" Elena asks as she sees me get all tense. I look up at her, realizing something is here. I know it's one of my family members. I hope it is Elijah, and not the one person that I hope cannot come in here.

"Um, we should go check on your aunt." I say not asking. I get up and walk out her door.

"Wait up!" I hear Elena scream, following behind me.

We make our way downstairs, when we see her aunt looking through some old boxes. The sense is getting stronger.

"Hey what are you doing?" Elena asks.

"Hey girls. Perfect timing." She hands Elena a box.

"Woah. What is this stuff?" Elena asks caught off guard.

"Your mom's piles from the historical society. I got roped into helping Mrs. Lockwood." Jenna states. I finally feel a relief over me when I realize it is not Klaus I am sensing.

"And by roped, I mean very excited to participate!" Jenna says closing the door, revealing Elijah standing behind it. Elena reacts startled and drops the box she is holding.

"Hi, I'm Elijah." Elijah states in a gentleman tone. God Elijah, what now.

I see Elena panicking and realize she going to worry her aunt. I nudge her on the shoulder to pay attention to me.

"Stay calm." I whisper to her and she tries to calm herself.

"Elijah is in town doing a paper on mystic falls." Jenna states taking away the box from Elena and heading into the kitchen.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Elena." Elijah states, offering a hand to Elena. She hesitantly gives her hand to shake, and I notice the grip he has on it. Elijah then faces me, "A pleasure to meet you to..." He trails off pretending not to know my name. I go along with it.

"Kalle." I say with an attitude and hesitantly shake his hand also.

"Yes, this is Elena's friend. So you're welcoming to stay and rummage through this stuff, or Elena, Kalle, and I could help load it into your car." Jenna says coming in between Elena and I.

"Or I can have some guys come here tomorrow." Elijah states back.

"Also a good plan." Jenna states.

"Well thank you for inviting me into your home Jenna." Elijah states as he walks past both me and Elena to the front door, he then turns back to face Elena. "And Elena, I hope to see you again some time soon."

Elena just stares, and I care see the frightens on her face. "Told you." I whisper to her, knowing I was right. She looks at me unamused. Once Elijah leaves, she quickly heads up stairs.

"Wait! Where are you going?" I scream behind her and see Jenna face me confused. "Um, I'm sure she just want to get back to finishing her homework she is behind on, now that I think about it."

"Hm. Okay. Well let me know if you two need anything." She states and I nod at her. Once Jenna goes back into the kitchen, I make my way upstairs, when I see Elijah in the corner and Elena talking to Jeremy.

Jeremy than walks out of his room, passing Elijah. Elena sees me and puts her finger to her mouth. I guess telling me not to say anything about Elijah. Jeremy walks past me and I give him a quick smile, as he walks down the stairs.

"What do you want?" Elena asks Elijah, as I walk up behind her.

"I think it's about time you and I had a chat. You may join us too..Kalle." Elijah states while looking at me too. Elijah, what do you have planned? Elena and I have no time to question all of this, as we all make our way to her bedroom.

Elijah is basically telling Elena the whole reason why he is here. I am just by the door listening, as I am already aware of all of this. I am surprised he is telling her this soon, though I guess it makes sense after she almost got herself killed. I barely paying attention to anything Elijah stated, until something caught me off guard.

"And then I'll kill him." Elijah states staring at Elena. Excuse me?

"Just like that?" Elena asks.

"Just like that." Elijah immediately responds back. "I'm a man of my word Elena. I make a deal, I keep a deal."

I know that better than anyone. Elijah is a noble man, and he keeps his promises. That is why I know he is not kidding, when he says he will kill Nik. I know Elijah is mad, but I never thought it would come to him killing his own brother.

"And how do you plan to keep everyone safe?" Elena asks.

"You know I notice you have a friend, Bonnie is it? She seems to possess the gift of magic. I have friends with similar gifts. One is standing right behind you." Elijah states pointing to me. Elena turns around to face me confused. What the hell is he doing?

"I have no idea what you mean, I have never met you before in my life." I state keeping up the act.

"Oh, my mistake. I knew your grandmother. Or great grandmother? It gets confusing over the centuries." Elijah states. "Anyways, I know how powerful the family is and I know you will obtain that same power. Making you more than capable to protect her friends and family."

"You knew her family?" Elena asks.

"Yes, and you wouldn't believe how powerful they were, even as children."

"I may have heard my grandmother once speak about a trusted vampire that she would often help." I lie, trying to get Elena to trust Elijah. Elena nods at my statement and looks back an Elijah.

"So you also have witches." Elena states.

"And together we can protect everyone that matters to you." Elijah quickly states then takes a step closer to Elena. "So, do we have a deal?"

Elena thinks about it before it seems an idea pops into her head. "I need you to do one more thing for me."

"We're negotiating now?" Elijah asks surprised.

Elena asks for Elijah to get Stefan out of the tomb and he agrees, only if Elena does not try to seek for Klaus anymore. They came to a deal. Elijah helps deal with Klaus and Elena will no longer try to sacrifice herself. After that encounter, I was finally able to go home, after this long annoying day.

But I was not able to fall asleep? Was Elijah really going to kill Nik if he had the chance?

Would he kill his own brother?
