As soon as Warfang appears on the horizon, Spyro realizes that the walls are no longer broken. They were being fixed and there were still many people working in various buildings to help with the repairs.

"It's prettier than I remembered! But... It's only been two days since we defeated Malefor! How is this possible?!"

"The love they all feel for the city makes them work at an incredible speed and skill!" Replies Terrador, in a way even proud of the inhabitants of the city.

"Awesome!" Says the purple dragon, a look of admiration to the city.

"And we also have to hurry to finish the repairs, as we will receive the candidates for the new guardians tomorrow." Complete Terrador.

"New guardians? Why? Are you going to retire?

"There must be four guardians of the temple to have the balance of the elements. Then we will herald the new era!" Terrador explains.

"And who are the candidates?"

"It's good you asked, because it's the duty of the purple dragon, along with the old guardians, to choose the new ones!"

Spyro looks at Terrador's face, surprised. "Me and you?"

"Yes. Well... They are: Helen and Cassandra, ice candidates..."

"We'll have a female guardian in this era!"

"Yes! So... Rya and Ray, electricity candidates, brother and sister; Brutus and Arbo, earth candidates; and finally Flame and Ember, fire candidates. They're all the same age as you and Cynder. In the same age group actually.

"I'm looking forward to meeting then! Cynder was the only one I knew my age."

Terrador and Volteer pass above the walls of Warfang and land in the center of the city, placing Spyro and Cynder on the ground, next to each other.

All the inhabitants, of various kinds, already knew of the return of the two young ones and were there, applauding and greeting them.

Cyril emerges from the crowd and hugs the two of them. -I knew you'd come back!

Spyro and Cynder return the hug, just as affectionately.

"I'm sorry for Ignitus." Cyril looks into Spyro's eyes.

"I must be sorry. You were very close to him."

"No more than Terrador..."

"Yes. I know that."

Cyril looks at the wounds. "It's pretty serious, huh? It must be very painful! How come they're not bleeding?"

"I stopped the bleeding from both of us!"

"And you don't know the news!" Cynder smiles, approaching Spyro.

"News? Which?" Asks the ice dragon.

Cynder kisses Spyro in front of everyone, making them outraged and whispering, "Loyal Heart and the Terror of the Skies are companions!" and "This isn't happening!"

All the whispers were putting Cynder down, literally down. She starts by looking at the ground, then starts crouching down. Spyro doesn't allow this to continue and intervenes.

"SHUT UP!" Spyro roars loudly and everyone immediately falls silent. "HOW DARE YOU TALK LIKE THAT?! THAT'S RIDICULOUS! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT ABOUT HER?! WHAT DO YOU WANT?! THAT SHE GETS SO, SO DEPRESSED, THAT SHE TRIES TO KILL HERSELF AND PUT AN END TO IT?! DO YOU THINK SHE'S NOT SORRY?! I THOUGHT YOU, AFTER ALL, WOULD LEAVE HER ALONE! IF IT WASN'T FOR HER I'D BE DEAD! I LOVE HER, AND THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE!" Spyro was really furious at such injustice and lack of compassion from some of the inhabitants there.

Many of the inhabitants are really awkward staring at the ground without being able to look at Spyro and Cynder, some embarrassed.

Cynder continued to crouch down, as if she had a weight on her back and she couldn't stand up.

"Cyn? Is everything okay?" The purple dragon asks, lowering his face to hers and stroking her slowly with his nuzzle.

"Yes... And... Thank you Spyro." She says in a low voice, as if she doesn't want to be heard by anyone but Spyro.

Cyril smiles at the sight of such a scene. "You are really very united. I'm proud of you! Congratulations, Spyro, for protecting her so well! And congratulations, Cynder, for being so loyal to him!

They both smile at Cyril.

"Now come! I'll take you to the infirmary. And as for you, I don't want to hear such words from anyone anymore!" Cyril commands, looking at the population in a cold way.

The two then follow him to the infirmary, where all wounds are stitched and properly bandaged by Warfang's experienced doctors. Spyro growls a little as the stitches are made, but as Cynder's injuries were larger, she roared loudly in pain, but showed quite high control and intelligence, using her poison element to produce an anesthetic so she wouldn't feel so much pain.

After leaving, Spyro tells Cynder to go rest that he would soon go with her, but first he needed to go see Terrador. The dragoness stayed in the room that was given to them in the lodge next to the temple of the elements.

The lodge consisted of a large building that could be considered a hotel, with several bedrooms, bathrooms, and two communal kitchens, where anyone who wanted to could use them to keep things in order. The rooms were free for those who needed them, the only requirements were to keep things organized, respect the other residents and look for a job to help in the city until has money to get a permanent place.

The guardians had rooms in the temple itself, however, each with one to himself, unlike the old temple, now in ruins in the dragonfly swamp, which was just a room for the four of them.

Spyro walked through the temple, which had an architecture that closely mimicked that of the swamp, having several memories in the arena when he trained with the other guardians, especially Ignitus, who even though he didn't speak and didn't think about it, he considered him as a father.

Arriving at Terrador's room, he noticed the door open, so he approached slowly. "Terrador?"

"Enter, Spyro."

The purple dragon walks in and sees Terrador lying down, massaging his temples. "Is everything alright?"

"Always caring about the well-being of others above your own, huh?" Terrador comments, laughing lightly and then looking at Spyro.

"What do you mean?"

"Ignitus is right!"

"About what?"

"Your heart is so pure..." There was a twinkle in Terrador's eyes. Hope. This was what Spyro give to the people around him.

Spyro approaches and lies down in front of Terrador. "All right... You're like that because of my father, right?"

–Yes... You are quite different from him.

–Say it! Who is he?

Terrador sighs heavily, knowing that it would take a lot of work for Spyro to digest the information. "If you have a son, he will be the next purple dragon."

"And what does that have to do with it?"

"A purple dragon is only born from another purple dragon or when a purple dragon dies without having a child, a purple egg is randomly born from a dragoness that is about to lay eggs..."

Spyro thinks for a moment, then widens his eyes. "No... Are you saying that..."

"Your father is Malefor, Spyro!"

Spyro is horrified by the revelation. "It can't be!"

"I lament."

"No! So I'm really meant to be like him! Just as he said!"

"No, Spyro!" Terrador brings his head closer to Spyro's. "Malefor's actions don't influence who you are! You're Spyro! Or "Loyal Heart" as everyone is calling you now!"

Spyro looks at Terrador, a little melancholic still, but curious. "Why Loyal Heart?"

"Because of your loyalty to everyone! You rescued Cynder even with everything that happened! You believed her when no one else did! Killed Gaul! Destroyed, with Cynder, the Destroyer, and defeated Malefor, with whom she was once servant! You saved the world! And I'll tell you a thing: Ignitus, when you weren't around, always called you son!

Spyro smiles. "I've always considered him a father to me, you know... He always treated me with so much... Affection."

"Ahh... Spyro... So young still and with so much load on your back! Never doubt yourself!"

"I'll never! And... And my mother?"

"As far as I know, only Malefor knows who she is... Well Knew. I heard that he had fallen in love with a dragoness at the time who wasn't yet... Like that."

"Understand. Anything else?"

"Yes... As you know, the new era is approaching, meaning many eggs are going to be delivered to the temple to be hatched. As you can see, we have built a new temple here in the city, but it is still very similar to the previous one. The eggs must go to the temple, but I will leave you with you two IF when you have it I am still guardian, as it is the duty of the guardians to choose whether or not the purple dragon will take care of their child."

"Thank you, Terrador. Cynder will be pleased to hear that! But... Why are eggs delivered to the temple?"

"The orphans ones. Here in Warfang it is here in the temple that they are handed over to be cared for. In other cities they have incubators for this."

"Oh! Right... It's cool. Wow... I'm so... Out of place on these issues."

"Haha! Thats normal. Never lived in a city before. But hey... I know a secret of hers."

"Uh? Secret? Which one?"

"She really wants to have a child with you!" Terrador says, smiling at Spyro.

The news outraged Spyro. And it made him blush a lot too.

"But she's too embarrassed to tell you that."

"How do you know?"

"She told Volteer, and he told me."

"Did she say anything else?"

"She said she regretted everything she did for everyone. But that doesn't matter anymore, well... It wasn't her afterall."

"Absolutely not! Thanks for telling me this, Terrador! And don't worry!" Spyro gets up and runs out of the room. "I will never be like my father!"

"I trust you, Spyro!" Says Terrador, smiling. "With all my heart, and so do Ignitus."
