To my readers-I decided that instead of making 2 huge volumes of A Ketchum's journey, I decided to make them into 4 separate volumes. Volume 1 will contain the Kanto and Johto regions, Volume 2 will contain Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, Volume 3 will contain Unova and Kalos regions, last but not least, Volume 4 will contain Alola and Galar regions. I want each and every one of you to know that if you personally don't like the way I'm writing the fanfic, then you don't have to read it. I will not reach through my laptop to force you to read any fandoms that I write for because you can probably find a lot better fanfics in those fandoms over mine. Even if you can't find what you're looking for and still don't like the way I write it, then I encourage you to write your own. Happy Reading!

Out on the sand, Litten starts to build up energy for its Fire Fang attack. Rockruff growls as fire appears on Litten's back. "Pika!" said Pikachu as Rowlet, Hayley and Meeko watched from the sidelines.
"Litten's temperature is rising fast." said Rotom.
"I don't know, Rotom." said Hayley, with her head in her hands. "Back home, when Phoenix learned Fire Fang, her temperature rose a little quicker than that."
"Really?" asked Rotom.
"Lucario." said Meeko, nodding her head.
"All right." said Kiawe with Turtonator across from Ash. "Get ready to take whatever Litten dishes out."
"Turtonator." said Turtonator.
"You're doing great." Ash tells Litten. "Go!"
"Litten!" shouted Litten as it heads towards Turtonator.
"Use Fire Fang!" shouted Ash as Turtonator turns around with its back towards Litten.
"Litten!"
Fire sprouted from Litten's mouth as it opens its mouth for the attack. But just as Litten was about to bite Turtonator on the tail, its Fire Fang diminished. Litten then tries to bite Turtonator's tail as much as it could, but couldn't dish out its attack. "So close." sighed Rotom.
"And yet it tried." added Hayley, counting the many attempts she marked in the sand.
"Cari." said Meeko.
"Pika-Pika." said Pikachu. Rowlet trills as Rockruff barks as they both tell Litten that it tried its best. "You almost got it; you know that?" Ash asked.
"(Meow)" said Litten, sadly.
"Kiawe, Hayley and the gang can help you make all your moves great." said Ash.
"Yeah. Meeko and I are always happy to help you." said Hayley.
"Cario." said Meeko, walking up to Litten and poking her paw into its side. "Lucario, Cario, Cario."
"Litten?" asked Litten.
"Lucario!" said Meeko, nodding.
"All things fire type, leave it to me and Hayley." said Kiawe.
"Turtonator!" Turtonator called out.
"Char!" roared Charizard.
"Okay, let's try that again." said Ash, standing back up.
"Litt." said Litten.
Narrator: Now that Litten has become the latest member of Ash and Hayley's Pokémon family, everyone is pitching in to help Ash and Litten perfect Litten's fire fang.
Hayley: Except for my Pokémon, in which they're at the Pokémon center at the moment. Ash worked them really hard yesterday with Litten.
Narrator: Really? I wondered where they were. However…
In the sand behind them, a shovel was sticking up as it moved closer to the group. Rockruff, Pikachu, Hayley and Meeko were chasing each other on the sand when a mass with the shovel sticking out moved closer. "Pi?" asked Pikachu.
"Lucar?" asked Meeko.
"I don't know." said Jordan, watching the shovel mass moved closer to her brother and Kiawe.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked the mass of sand as Rockruff let out a puzzled whine. "Pikachu!"
Both Pikachu and Rockruff go after it, tracking it in the sand. "Pika-pika!" Pikachu called out as he chases it.
"Rock! Ruff!" barked Rockruff.
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"Lucar!" said Meeko, joining in on the fun.
"Okay, Litten, watch closely!" said Ash and Litten meows.
"Turtonator, use Flamethrower." said Kiawe.
"Turton….." said Turtonator, getting revved up.
"You need to breathe deeply, like Turtonator does." Rotom explained to Litten. "Do that, and your internal fire power will get stronger and stronger."
"Okay, Litten, why don't you give it a try?" asked Ash as Litten starts to hiss and build up energy in its back. "Yeah, looking good."
"Now, attack!" shouted Kiawe.
"Nator!" bellowed Turtonator, sending its flamethrower into the ocean.
"Litten!" hissed Litten as it runs towards Turtonator, but trips over an empty soda can and falls into the sand. Litten meowed sadly as tears filled its eyes and Rowlet trills.
"Turtonator!" Turtonator called out and Charizard grunts.
"Pretty good." said Ash, going down to Litten's level. "Yup! You'll get it next time."
"Pika-pika!" shouted Pikachu as Rockruff barks behind Ash. Ash turns around to see Hayley and their Pokémon gathered around a shovel sticking out of the sand with the former holding a stick in her hand. "Pikachu." said Pikachu as the shovel moves while Rockruff barks at it.
"What are they up to?" asked Ash.
"I think they're playing." said Rotom.
"Wait a sec." said Kiawe. "That shovel…"
"Pika. Pika." said Pikachu and suddenly the shovel moves towards Kiawe, causing Litten to hiss at it.
"Lucario!" said Meeko, jumping back.
"Huh?" they all said when suddenly, under the shovel, sand formed into the Pokémon's body and caused everyone to gasp.
"It's a Sandygast!" said Kiawe.
"Pika-pika!" screamed Pikachu.
"Cario!" Meeko exclaimed.
"Okay….I don't think I would be playing in the sand anytime soon." said Hayley, dropping the stick she was holding.
"A Sandygast?" asked Ash.
"If you'll just allow me." said Rotom. "Sandygast, the Sand Heap Pokémon, a Ghost and Ground type. Sandygast can control people or Pokémon if they touch its shovel."
"Control?" asked Ash and Hayley.
"That's right. Watch out for it." Kiawe warned them. "It happens to be the most dangerous Pokémon at the beach. My grandfather was constantly telling me that when I was little."
[Flashback]
"He'd say 'Be careful around any shovel that looks like it's stuck in the sand at the beach.'" said Kiawe. "Something terrible could happen if you touch it.' But…."
Young Kiawe and his friends gathered around a shovel, sticking out of the sand. Kiawe had a stick in his hand, poking at the shovel.
"You see? It's not scary." said Young Kiawe, pointing to the shovel when it suddenly moved towards him. Suddenly, Young Kiawe's behavior changed.
"What's wrong?" asked his friends as he started to gather up sand.
"Kiawe?" asked one of the other boys, only to be ignored by Kiawe.
"What's going on?"
"What are you doing?"
All three boys were so scared by what Kiawe was doing as he continued to gather up sand that they ran off and left him behind.
"Apparently, I was gathering sand until the next morning." said Kiawe.
[Flashback ends]
"Oh, Ash…." sang Hayley, getting a mischievous look on her face.
"Nice try, Hayley." said Ash.
"Oh well, it was worth trying anyway." said Hayley as Ash chuckles nervously at Kiawe.
"And we will never know." said Meeko.
"But it's just sand." said Ash.
"Rock! Ruff!" Rockruff barked at Sandygast.
"Pika!" said Pikachu.
"Lucar." said Meeko when Sandygast turns around and screams at the three Pokémon.
"Look out!" shouted Kiawe.
"Rockruff!" shouted Ash as Pikachu, Meeko and Rockruff whimper in fear. "Use Rock Throw!"
"Ruff!" barked Rockruff as the stones on its neck glowed and sends rocks towards Sandygast. Rockruff howls as Sandygast squeals in pain as its shovel gets knocked off its head and splashes into the ocean. "Uh-oh." said Hayley, looking out into the water.
"Uh-oh is right." said Rotom.
"Lucario." said Meeko.
"Sandy! Sandy….Gast!" said Sandygast, freaking out over its missing shovel.
"Pikachu!" shouted Pikachu.
"Sandygast! Sandygast!" shouted Sandygast as it throws out its Shadow Ball as one almost hits Ash, Hayley and Kiawe.
"It's really mad." said Ash.
"Probably because it lost its shovel." said Kiawe.
"Hey!" shouted Hayley, glaring at Sandygast.
"Sandy?" it asked, looking up.
"Let me tell you something, Sandygast." Hayley said, stalking the Pokémon. "These three are just curious about you. Don't get mad at them for knocking off your shovel."
"Sandy! Sandy! Sandygast!" Sandygast yelled at her, waving its arms in anger.
"Does Hayley normally do this a lot with wild Pokémon or just yours?" asked Kiawe as Hayley yelled back, taking a step forward towards Sandygast.
"A little bit of both. At first, it was just my Pokémon." said Ash. "Then out of nowhere, she started doing it with wild Pokémon too. She just has a lot of practice with Pikachu."
"It's true." said Meeko.
"She's good." said Rotom as Sandygast backs up from an angry Hayley who kept yelling at it.
"But it's shovel got knocked into the ocean, right?" Ash asked Kiawe.
"Pika!" said Pikachu, pointing out to the water as Rockruff whines.
"Then let's go and look for it." said Kiawe, about to run into the ocean.
"Wait, Kiawe!" Rotom called after him. "I think that the shovel can be replaced with something else."
"Like what, Rotom?" asked Hayley.
"But even if that's true, the shovel's what it wants." said Ash, then gasps as he looks at Rotom.
"Huh?" said Rotom, looking back at Ash.
"I have an idea." said Ash.
"What?" asked Rotom as Ash takes him over to Sandygast. "No, no, no! What are you doing?"
"Ash, are you serious?" asked Kiawe.
"Just be a shovel for a little bit." Ash said to Rotom.
"A shovel? Are you kidding!" shrieked Rotom.
"I don't like this idea….I don't like this idea at all." said Hayley, uncomfortable with what Ash was doing.
"Cario." said Meeko.
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"Relax! It'll just be for a little while." said Ash.
"Wait! Whoa, whoa, whoa!" said Rotom as Ash turns him upside down and places him in Sandygast's head.
"Pika…." said a shocked Pikachu as Rockruff gave a puzzled bark.
"Lu….Cario?" asked Meeko, turning her head to the side.
"How embarrassing." said Rotom.
"I'll say." said Hayley. "This isn't exactly what I had in mind, Ash."
"Yeah." said Kiawe.
"That's going to work perfectly." said Ash as Sandygast starts to grunt angrily then screams as its body starts to glow.
"Ah!" screamed Ash, Kiawe and Hayley.
"Now what?" asked Kiawe.
"Run for cover!" screamed Hayley as she starts to run towards Kukui's house.
"Hayley!" shouted Ash, grabbing her by the shoulders.
"Pika!" screamed Pikachu.
"What's going on?" Rotom asked.
"Sandygast! Sandy! Sandygast!" shouted Sandygast as it evolves. "Sandy! (Grunts) Palossand!"
"It looks so different." said Ash as Sandygast evolved into a sand castle like Pokémon.
Palossand starts taking in the sand around it. "Pikachu! Lucario!" said Pikachu and Meeko, now scared of Palossand.
"Hey, let me go!" shouted Rotom as Palossand roared and got bigger.
"What's happening?" asked Ash.
"I don't know, but I'm scared." said Hayley.
"Palossand!" roared Palossand, as it consumes the sand surrounding them.
"Everyone get back!" shouted Kiawe, hoping that everyone would get far away from Palossand.
"Tur! Tur!" said Turtonator, running away with Kiawe not far behind.
"Ash! Hayley!" shouted Kiawe, seeing both siblings still in front of Palossand.
"Rotom!" shouted Ash. "That's enough! Get away!"
"I'm stuck!" grunted Rotom, trying to get himself out of Palossand.
"You're what?" he asked.
"Ash, come on! We gotta get out of here!" shouted Hayley, pulling on her brother.
"Lucar!" said Meeko, helping her out by pushing against Ash.
"Not without Rotom." he tells her.
"Ash, Hayley look out!" shouted Rotom when suddenly Palossand takes it into its own account and swallows Ash, leaving Hayley and Meeko behind.
"Pika!" shouted Pikachu, looking over his shoulder to see Ash being gobbled up.
"Huh?" said Ash, peeking out through Palossand's head once it stood up.
"Ash!" shouted Kiawe. "You okay?"
"Pikachu?" asked Pikachu.
"Ashy?" asked Hayley, concerned about her brother being inside Palossand.
"I'm fine." said Ash, waving to them as Rowlet flies over to them. "Hey, Rowlet."
Palossand growls as it swats Rowlet away. "Is this a Pokémon? Or is this something else?" Ash asked himself.
"It's the evolved form of Sandygast! It's a Palossand!" Rotom called out to Ash.
"A Palossand?" asked Ash and Hayley.
"The sand castle Pokémon, a Ghost and Ground type. It is said the shovel on Palossand's head functions as a radar." said Rotom.
"So I'm inside Palossand's body?" asked Ash.
"Okay….it's official." said Hayley, hiding behind Kiawe. "I don't want to capture Palossand. It scares me. It scares me a lot."
"Lucario. Cario." said Meeko, hiding behind Hayley, her body shaking. Suddenly, Ash starts slipping against Palossand's body as the sand drags him down. "What's up with this thing?" Ash asked, looking around.
"Pikachu!" shouted Pikachu, using Thunderbolt on Palossand.
"Lucario!" shouted Meeko, hurling Aura Sphere at one of Palossand's castles.
"Stop it, Pikachu, or I'll get zapped and I won't be able to move!" Ash called out.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"Meeko, stop or you'll get sucked inside like Ash did." said Hayley.
"Cario?" asked Meeko.
"Okay!" said Ash, trying to run up the sand, only to be dragged down again.
"Ash, are you having trouble getting out of there?" asked Kiawe.
"I keep slipping back down because of the sand." said Ash. "We've got to find that shovel and fast!"
"Of course." said Kiawe as he looks out to the ocean. "Though the shovel's gone because of what he did."
"Sometimes he just doesn't think about what he's going to do." said Hayley.
"Palossand!" bellowed Palossand.
"Huh?" said Mallow and Lana, holding fishing rods as they see Kiawe and Hayley in front of Palossand.
"What's that?" asked Mallow.
"Palossand!" thundered Palossand.
"Huh?" said Lillie as she and Sophocles were not far behind Mallow and Lana.
"(Meows)" said Litten.
"Pika." said Pikachu.
"Lucari." said Meeko as Rockruff jumps out and barks at Palossand, only for the Sand castle Pokémon to roar back at it.
"Rockruff! That's dangerous." said Rotom. Litten then kicks Rockruff away from Palossand, protecting rock-type puppy.
"Sand!" bellowed Palossand, gobbling up Litten as it did with Ash. As thrown sand disappeared, Rockruff and Rowlet became angry with Palossand, who then roared at both Pokémon.
"Litten!" shouted Ash, then looks back inside Palossand. "Huh?" Appearing at the bottom of the sand pit, was Litten. "Litten! Litten, are you okay?" asked Ash as he goes towards Litten. Just when Ash was about to touch Litten, green light surrounded it, taking away its energy, causing Litten to meow in pain.
"Litten?" asked Ash, not knowing what to do.
"Hey, I feel strange." said Rotom, glowing the same way as Litten.
"What's going on, Rotom?" Kiawe asked as Mallow and the others ran up behind them.
"Kiawe! Jordan! Is that a Pokémon?" asked Mallow.
"It's a Palossand!" Kiawe explained. "It grew that large from being angry. And now Ash and Litten are trapped inside."
The others gasped. "And Rotom's stuck on top!" Sophocles pointed out.
"Pika!" shouted Pikachu.
"You know, I'm surprised that Hayley's taking this well." said Lillie.
"Good point." said Kiawe, then looks around for the youngest Ketchum. "Where'd she go?"
"There she is." said Lana, pointing to where she went.
"Hey! Palossand!" shouted Hayley, standing her ground against the Sand Castle Pokémon.
"Palossand?" it asked.
"Let Litten and my idiot brother go!" she tells it.
"Palos." it replied angrily, turning away from her.
"Oh…it's going to be like that, huh?" said Hayley, glaring at Palossand.
"Is she…." said Mallow.
"I think so." said Lana.
"She's got her angry face on." said Sophocles.
"Hayley, be careful!" Lillie called out.
"Don't worry Lillie, I got it." said Hayley, still glaring at Palossand. "You think it's okay to gobble up a trainer and their Pokémon? Because what? He knocked your shovel into the ocean?"
"Palos! Palossand!" roared Palossand, pointing a castle like hand at Hayley.
"You could've just hit my brother before releasing shadow ball, evolving and gobbling him up." said Hayley. "But you did what you did anyway! So I demand a release of Litten and my brother!"
"Pikachu." grumbled Pikachu as he smacks himself in the face while Hayley tried to tell Palossand about its shovel.
"Lucario." Meeko grumbled in agreement, then turns to the electric mouse. "Cario, Lucari."
"Pika, Pika….Pikachu." replied Pikachu.
"Palossand!" bellowed Palossand, waving its arms in the air at Hayley, not caring what she said at all.
"Well, at least I tried." said Hayley, walking back to the others.
"So….you're giving up?" asked Mallow.
"On Ash? Never as long as I live." Hayley tells her with hands behind her head. "I just tried it my way and Palossand didn't listen."
"And what way was that?" asked Kiawe.
"I tried to discipline Palossand my way and it didn't work. Plan B in discipline was Meeko and if that didn't work, Meeko and I team up for plan C." said Hayley. "Now, how are we going to get my brother out?"
"Ash, can you hear me?" Mallow called out.
"Are you two okay?" asked Lillie.
"Guys! Something's wrong with Litten!" Ash shouted out to them.
"Oh my…." said Hayley, looking ready to pass out by the look of Litten's fur.
"Ash, something's wrong with Rotom, too!" said Kiawe, causing Ash to look up and gasp.
"Somebody help me! Help!" screamed Rotom.
"Poor Rotom! What's going on?" asked Mallow.
"I don't have a clue." said Sophocles.
"Anybody!" screamed Rotom.
"I read about this once." said Lillie. "Palossand is most likely absorbing as much of Rotom and Litten's energy as it can in order to maintain its massive size!"
"I feel so strange." said Rotom as Palossand grew even bigger. "Get me down from here! Help!"
"Palossand is so big, it can even swallow a house!" said Kiawe. "It can't escape until we can help all three of them."
"Let me." said Lana. "Water melts sand."
"Huh." said the others.
"Popplio, use Bubble Beam!" said Lana.
"Pop! Pop-pop-pop-pop-pop!" shouted Popplio, releasing Bubble Beam towards Palossand, who then grunts by the attack.
"That's super effective." said Sophocles.
"Doesn't sand usually…..?" Hayley started to ask when the wet sand returned back to its usual form.
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio.
"I think Palossand got tougher." said Lana.
"Please stop that! Water type moves will make it even tougher!" Rotom called out to Lana.
"This is serious!" said Mallow.
"Ok….Rotom's voice is weirding me out." said Hayley.
"Palossand!" bellowed Palossand as it gathers up more sand.
"Get out of here, quick!" shouted Ash.
"No way! Not without you!" shouted Hayley.
"You have to, Hayley! shouted Ash. The others gasp as they ran with Kiawe dragging Hayley with him.
"Palossand's looking for the shovel that should be on its head!" said Kiawe.
"Shovel?" asked Mallow.
"Right, but it got knocked into the ocean!" he tells the others.
"No thanks to my brother." added Hayley.
"Uh! We can't search the whole ocean!" said Sophocles.
"Hold on. Popplio can find it!" said Lana.
"But if she touches the shovel, Palossand will control her. Then Popplio's lost." said Kiawe.
"But she can make a balloon." said Lana.
"Of course! That's it!" said Kiawe. "It can wrap the shovel in a balloon!"
"That's right." said Lana.
"Hm…." said Hayley, thinking, smiled, then looks down at Pikachu. "I know! Pikachu, front and center!"
"Pika! Pika!" said Pikachu, pretending to be a Pokémon soldier and saluted Hayley.
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu replied.
"What's going on, Pikachu? Hayley?" asked Lana.
"Pikachu is small enough to go inside one of Popplio's balloons." Hayley explained as Pikachu points out into the ocean. "He and Popplio can look for Palossand's shovel while we try to get Ash and Litten out of Palossand."
"Pop! Pop!" said Popplio as Pikachu explained it to her, then created a balloon around him and pushes him into the ocean.
"Good luck." said Kiawe as all but Hayley gasped.
"They're off on a shovel search! So exciting!" exclaimed Lana.
"Great buddy! I know you'll find that shovel!" shouted Ash, before glancing down at Litten. "You've got to hold on, Litten."
"If Water type moves aren't effective…." said Kiawe.
"Maybe Snowy's Ice-type moves will be." said Lillie as Snowy squeals happily. "Huh? You'll do it? Here we go. We'll freeze Palossand using Powder Snow and stop it in its tracks!"
"Ruff! Rock!" Rockruff said to Snowy.
"Vul!" said Snowy.
"All right! We'll attract Palossand's attention." said Kiawe. "Then Snowy can use Powder Snow unnoticed!"
"Right! It's just Rotom, Ash and Litten are going to get hit as well." said Lillie.
"Don't worry about us! Give it everything you've got!" said Ash. "Yeah!"
"I'll be fine, fine, fine, too, so don't hold back." said Rotom. "This reminds me of the plot in episode seven of Alolan Detective Laki. One of the many gems from season three!"
[TV Flashback]
"I'm right, the culprit will definitely appear at this mountain cottage." said Laki, staring at the cottage, shivering as snow blew around him. "And since people rarely ever come here, there's no chance that I could be wrong! No way!"
[TV Flashback ends]
"If Laki can go through all of that, I can certainly go through this!" said Rotom.
"I got an idea." said Hayley.
"Hayley?" asked Kiawe.
"Meeko and I will be right back you guys." said Hayley as she and Meeko head towards Kukui's house for something, giving Rotom a weird look. "We're getting some supplies. Come on, Meeko."
"Alright." said Meeko.
"I think Rotom's enjoying it. What do you know?" said Mallow.
"Now, Snowy, go!" shouted Lillie.
"Vul!" squealed Snowy.
"Charizard! Turtonator!" shouted Kiawe.
"Turto!" said Turtonator.
"You're up." he said to his Pokémon.
"Sophocles, Hayley and I are going to back up Snowy all the way!" said Mallow.
"Okay! Count me in!" said Sophocles.
"Toge." said Togedemaru. Out in the ocean, Popplio and Pikachu were searching for the shovel. Pikachu looks around until he found something. "Pika!" he exclaimed, but when he and Popplio got closer, they only found a Shellder.
"Shellder!" shouted Shellder, causing Popplio to whimper. As Lillie and the others ran through the bushes, behind Palossand, Kiawe was in front to distract it. "Everyone, attack!" Kiawe shouted to the Pokémon.
"Turto!" shouted Turtonator as it and the other Pokémon were ready to attack. "Turtonator!"
"Char!" roared Charizard as it and Turtonator send out their Flamethrowers, causing Palossand to groan in pain. Rockruff howled as it sends out Rock Throw while Rowlet sends out Leafage.
"Turtonator!" shouted Turtonator as Palossand roars from their attacks. Unknowingly to Palossand, Lillie and the others were in position. Popping up from the bushes was Hayley and Meeko, carrying a couple buckets of ice water and a towel.
"Okay, Lillie, now!" shouted Kiawe.
"Got it!" said Lillie. "It's time, Snowy! Powder Snow!"
"Vul!" screamed Snowy, releasing Powder Snow. "Vulpix!"
"You can do it, Snowy!" said Lillie as Snowy tries to freeze the back of Palossand. From the inside, Ash watches as his friends and sister try to get him out. "We'll be out of here so soon." Ash said to Litten. "You'll feel better in no time."
"There's no chance that I could be wrong!" said Rotom, as he dodges the attacks. "No way!"
"Palossand!" shouted Palossand as it sends a Shadow Ball towards Charizard when Turtonator cancels it out with its Flamethrower.
"Turtonator!" bellowed Turtonator. Snowy continued to use Powder Snow on Palossand from behind.
"Why am I always the creative problem solver in the family, I will never know." Hayley said to herself as she and Meeko came out of the bushes.
"You know I can help carry one of the buckets, Hayley." said Meeko, with the towel in her hands.
"I know that you offered to carry one of these buckets, Meeko." said Hayley. "But I got it. Promise."
"What took you so long?" asked Sophocles, seeing Hayley carrying a couple buckets.
"You try carrying a couple buckets of ice-cold water at this height." snapped Hayley as Mallow takes a bucket from her.
"Oh!" said Snowy, falling back.
"Snowy!" cried Lillie.
"It's too much for Snowy." said Sophocles.
"That's why we're helping Snowy out." said Mallow, with a giant leaf in her hands and starts fanning Snowy's attack. "Take that! And take that! Take that!" Ice starts forming onto Palossand.
"Huh?" said Lillie, then gasps at what Mallow was doing. "Thanks a lot, Mallow."
"You, too, Sophocles! Fan!" said Mallow.
"All right!" he replied.
"I'll help too!" said Lana as she and Sophocles went to go get huge leaves..
"On my count!" said Mallow as the three of them fanned Snowy as she continued to use Powder Snow. "And one! And two!"
"Steenee! Steenee!" said Steenee, helping out with cooler air.
"That's great, Steenee! Keep it up!" Mallow said with pride.
"And one! And two! And three! And four!" they said as they fanned Snowy with Togedemaru joining in.
"Togedemaru, that's great!" said Sophocles. "Keep fanning!"
"You're working so hard!" said Lillie, taking off her hat to fan her Pokémon.
"Vul! Vul!" said Snowy.
"Here, Snowy." said Hayley, taking a towel out of one of the buckets and places it on Snowy. "This will help cool you down."
"Vul! Vulpix!" said Snowy, giving her thanks.
"Lucario." said Meeko, smiling.
"I know, you went inside to get cold buckets of water to help cool Snowy down." said Lana.
"Yeah." said Hayley. "I figured that Snowy shouldn't get overheated."
"Thank you, Hayley." said Lillie as Snowy gets back to work on freezing Palossand. Ice went up Palossand's back, towards Rotom. "There's no chance that I could be wrong!" said Rotom, feeling the cold. "No way!"
Inside Palossand, Ash sees the ice working its way in, causing Litten to whine. "Are you cold?" he asked Litten, who then meows in response. "Here, how's that?" Ash covers Litten with his shirt, pressing the cat towards his body. Litten meows as its body glows red with heat.
"Wow. You're warming me up, too. Thanks, Litten." said Ash as ice from Snowy's attack continued to help. Back in the ocean, Pikachu and Popplio still searched for Palossand's shovel until Pikachu finally spots it.
"Pika!" said Pikachu, pointing to the shovel.
"Pop!" said Popplio, going in the direction.
"Pikachu!"
"Pop!" said Popplio, making a balloon when suddenly Magikarp swims by.
"Karp!" said Magikarp, swimming into Popplio's balloon, causing Popplio to scream.
"Pika! Pika!" shouted Pikachu.
"And one! And two! And three! And four!" said Sophocles, Mallow and Lana as they, Steenee and Togedemaru continued to fan. "And two! And three! And four!"
Palossand roars as ice slows it down. "It looks like Palossand's finally starting to slow down!" gasped Lillie.
"So it's working!" said Sophocles.
"Just a little more!" said Lana.
"Keep fanning." said Mallow. "You, too, Steenee."
"Go, Togedemaru!" said Sophocles.
"Time to switch to a cold towel." said Hayley, checking the towel on Snowy.
"Cario!" said Meeko, taking it off as Hayley takes out another towel.
"Not much longer, Snowy." said Lillie.
"Sand!" roared Palossand as Kiawe and the other Pokémon watched it become a frozen sand castle.
"It froze." said Lillie.
"We did it." said Kiawe.
"We did it!" cheered Mallow. "We did it, Steenee!"
"Steenee!" cheered Steenee. Just then, Snowy groans and falls to her side, causing Lillie to catch her. "Oh, Snowy. Thank you." said Lillie as she whimpers.
"You two were great. Thank you both!" Kiawe said to Turtonator and Charizard.
"Turtonator!"
"Char!"
"There's no chance I could be wrong. No way!" said Rotom, buzzing away as he froze on top of Palossand.
"Hm." said Lana, then looked out into the ocean. "Oh, Popplio."
Back in the ocean, many water type Pokémon passed by, accidentally swimming into Popplio's balloons. Just as Popplio made another balloon, a Corsola walked by, popping it. Both Pikachu and Popplio scream as it popped. Rowlet used Leafage at one of the windows to get Ash out and trills to him inside.
"Huh?" said Ash, turning his attention to Rowlet at the window above. "Rowlet! Yes! Litten, let's go!" Ash starts to run up the slippery slope, sliding backwards until he started running faster, finally reaching the window and tries to open it with his head.
"I won't give up!" groaned Ash, feeling the bump on his head. "One more time. Huh? Litten?"
Litten jumped out of Ash's arm and starts building up its Fire Fang as Ash gasps at the sight. "Litten!" screamed Litten, jumping towards Palossand's window, breaking the window.
"Litten, you did it!" exclaimed Ash. "You used Fire Fang perfectly!"
"Litt." said Litten. Rowlet appears at the window, smiling.
"Hey, you guys!" Ash called out.
"Ash! Thank goodness!" said Mallow.
"Finally!" shouted Hayley. "I need a hug from my brother."
"Charizard! Get Ash and Litten!" said Kiawe as Charizard grunts in return. Ash then jumps onto Charizard's back.
"Charizard, let's get Rotom, too!" said Ash.
"There's no chance. No way!" said a frozen Rotom, shivering his circuits.
"Ash! Be careful!" Mallow called out.
"Don't worry!" Ash replied back as he makes a jump for it to Rotom.
"Hurry please!" said Rotom as Ash quickly runs up.
"Great job hanging in there, Rotom!" said Ash.
"Endurance and perseverance." said Rotom as Ash turns to Litten.
"Litten, use Ember and melt the ice Rotom's stuck in." said Ash.
"(Meows)" said Litten and suddenly Palossand starts growling, freeing itself from its ice prison.
"Oh! Its waking up." said Lillie.
"What's going on?" asked Rotom as Ash holds on tight. Palossand moves its arms, breaking the ice from its body and fixing the hole in its body.
"Oh, no! Where's that shovel?" asked Kiawe.
"Lillie, can you use Powder Snow again?" asked Sophocles.
"I think Snowy's too exhausted." said Lillie.
"And we've used up almost all the water from the buckets helping Snowy." said Jordan.
"Oh, right." he then said. Lana looks back out into the ocean when a balloon with the shovel pops out of the ocean. "There it is." said Lana as Popplio and Pikachu pop up out of the water. "Popplio."
"Pika! Pika!" shouted Pikachu.
"Popplio!" shouted Popplio.
"(Grunts) Awesome!" said Ash as he pulls on Rotom. "Pikachu, you found it!"
"Great job, Pikachu." said Hayley.
"Lucar! Lucar!" said Meeko.
"We've been waiting! Thanks so much!" said Lana with her arms open wide. Popplio passes the balloon to Pikachu, who then hits it with his tail.
"Pika!" said Pikachu, passing it to Rockruff.
"Rockruff!" said Rockruff, passing it onto Meeko.
"Lucario!" said Meeko, passing it on to the Pokémon.
"Steenee!"
"Yeah!" shouted Mallow.
"Togedemaru! Kick!" said Sophocles as Togedemaru kicks it towards Rowlet.
"Time that, then hit it." Ash said to Litten. "Ready, Litten?" Litten hops onto Ash's shoulders and waits for the perfect time to get the shovel. "All right, now! Use Ember!" said Ash, letting Litten release Ember.
The bubble pops and the shovel falls towards the earth. Ash pulls out Rotom just as the shovel hit its mark. "You're free!" Ash said to Rotom, sitting on a shell. "Huh? Whoa! Argh!"
"Charizard!" shouted Kiawe as Charizard flies by and catches Ash. The shovel goes inside Palossand's head and comes back out with the spade facing up.
"Great, Charizard. Thanks!" said Ash.
"Char!" replied Charizard.
"Palos." said Palossand, happy that it got its shovel back. "Palossand!" Everyone gasped and yelled as Palossand went back into the sand with its shovel above the ground. "Pika?" asked Pikachu, as he and Rockruff goes towards the shovel. "Pikachu. Pika!"
Pikachu and Rockruff jumped back as the shovel starts to spin before it disappears into the sand. "Pika?" Pikachu asked as Rockruff howls.
"Oh, man. Sorry about that." said Ash.
"(Shivers) I'm still cold as an ice cube." said Rotom.
"No way….how is that possible?" asked Hayley, not believing what she was seeing on Rotom's screen.
"Yeah! There's no way you can be freezing." said Meeko.
"You can't be cold as an ice cube, Rotom." said Hayley.
Narrator: With their fierce battle with Palossand at an end, our heroes can breathe easy.
Hayley: Easy for you to say….You don't have any Pokémon to help us with Palossand.
Narrator: True. I'm sure if they ever see a shovel on the beach again, they'll be very careful.
Hayley: I would be running far away from it.
Meeko, nodding her head: Lucario.
The sun was setting on Kukui's house and both siblings were telling Kukui what happened. "Sounds like you both had a busy day." said Kukui.
"But guess what?" Ash asked Kukui, putting on his pjs. "Litten can use Fire Fang now like you won't believe! That's how we got out of there!"
"Pikachu!" said Pikachu, congratulating Litten.
"Litt." said Litten.
"I guess it was the power of your Fire pledge with Litten that helped." said Kukui when it suddenly got dark. Hayley was looking out the window when she said, "Uh-oh."
"Lucar." said Meeko.
"Hm. Why is it suddenly dark?" Kukui asked, then opens the door. "Afternoon shower, maybe? Huh?"
"Palossand!" roared Palossand as it covers the house.
"Why us?" asked Hayley and Meeko.
