While we were riding the balloons through the raining sky, we Louds told Tiana what happened back at the party.
"WHAT?!" she said with disbelief. "Y'all thought you could fix what you did by messing with that doctor of a shadow man, Facilier?"
"They are not the first to cross paths with him, you know." Naveen reminded her.
Lisa groaned. "Should've known better than to trust that...that scammer."
"Well, I should've known better than to wish upon a star." said Tiana. "The only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work, with or without help from the likes of you."
We Louds looked away, feeling guilty at ourselves for ruining Tiana's chances.
"Hard work? Why...why would a princess need to work hard?" asked Naveen.
"Oh, Tiana's not a princess. She's a waitress." Lola blurted out. "Now, I, on the other hand..."
"A...a waitress?!" Naveen repeated with equal disbelief, then said to Tiana. "Well, no wonder that kiss did not work. You lied to me!"
"No, I...I...I never said I was a princess." argued Tiana.
"You never said that you were a waitress either!" Naveen argued back. "You...you were wearing a crown!"
"In case you haven't been following," said Lisa. "Tiana had to change costumes because of what happened back there."
We glanced back at Lynn, coldly.
"Stop looking at me like it's my fault!" Lynn protested. "Those Fenner bozos got what they deserved."
"Oh, yeah? Well, the egg is on your face, all right? Because I do not have any riches!" admitted Naveen.
"What?!" Tiana said in shock.
"Uh, correct me if I'm hearing this right," Lola said to Naveen. "But, are you saying..."
POP!
"Uh-oh." Lola said when she saw the branches pop the balloons, sending all of us down into the bayou.
All except for Lynn, who landed on the pile, saying. "And she sticks the landing!"
"Lynn, get off!" I said, trying to get up from the water, which Lola popped out of, screaming.
"Icky, icky. Ew, ew." she said, brushing herself.
"Aw, lighten up, Lola. It's just water." said Lana.
"Lighten up? LIGHTEN UP?!" Lola said ballistically. "I am a pagent powerhouse. And pagentry and water that is swampy and dirty DON'T MIX AT ALL!"
"Lighten up, Lola." said Lori. "We've got bigger problems to worry about."
"If your problem is being cut off from your precious Bobby, we don't wanna hear it!" snapped Lola.
"Both of you lighten up!" Tiana said to them, then turned to Naveen. "And you...you said you were fabulously wealthy!"
"No, no, no, my parents are fabulously wealthy." explained Naveen. "But they cut me off for being a...LEECH! LEECH!"
"You're broke and you had the gall to call me a liar?" Tiana said as she pulled the leech from Naveen's arm and tossed it...into the mouth of a jumping catfish!
On seeing it, we all hurried to land, where Naveen said. "It was not a lie. I fully..."
Leni's shrieking interrupted him, for she saw a heron over us.
"Run! Move!" Lana said, pushing us away from the pursuing heron.
"I fully intend to be rich again." Naveen started to explain. "Once I marry Miss Charlotte LaBouff. If she will have me."
"So you are a prince." said Lola.
"Obviously." replied Naveen.
"I knew it!" Lola exclaimed, before we all slid down the hill and onto a log.
"All right, then." Tiana said to Naveen. "Once you two are married, you are going to keep your promise and get me my restaurant, right?"
"One side, waitress." Lola said, pushing her aside. "This prince is mine for the marrying."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, not so fast, little bunny." said Naveen. "First off, you're too young for me. Second, I made that promise to a beautiful princess, not a cranky wait…why are those logs moving?"
"Those aren't logs." Lisa said upon seeing that we were surrounded by a lot of gleaming eyes. "They're American Mississippiensis."
"Mis...what?" Naveen asked before the log moved, revealing to be a big alligator, who said. "Mangia, mangia, y'all!"
Seeing that we were surrounded by more alligators, Luna shouted. "Swim if you don't wanna be gator bait!"
The alligators lunged at us, but we all dove into the water, swimming up to a tree trunk, where we watched the whole commotion from inside when a voice whispered. "Psst! Lower the vine!"
We looked down to see Naveen outside our hiding spot.
Tiana frowned upon seeing him. "Find your own tree."
"Yeah, this one is literally full." added Lori.
"There he is! I see him!" called one of the alligators, who spotted Naveen by the tree.
"All right. Look, look. Help me get out of this swamp, and once I marry Charlotte, I shall get you your restaurant!" Naveen said frantically to Tiana.
Just as the alligators got closer, he found himself pulled out of the way by…
"Hops!" Lana exclaimed upon seeing her pet frog, who hopped inside the trunk along with Naveen.
"As your name implies," called another alligator. "You can hop, but you can't hide!"
"We've got all night!" laughed the leader as he led his pack away from our tree.
"Whew, that was close." Naveen sighed with relief.
Hops looked from us to the frogs, then started to leave.
"Hops, wait!" Lana called out. "Don't you recognize me? It's Lana."
On hearing her voice, Hops bounded towards Lana, who happily embraced him.
"Oh, swell." Tiana said sarcastically. "Another slimy frog to worry about."
"It's mucus, Tiana. Not slime. There's a difference." explained Lana.
"Finally, someone who gets it." said Naveen, at whom Tiana stared coldly, then hit him hard.
"She may not be a princess," Naveen said wearily. "But she packs quite a punch."
"Literally." agreed Lori.
