BGM: Goron City - Day (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

Vah Rudania's roar echoed all over Death Mountain as several Gorons looked up to see Rudania standing proudly on top of the volcano, opening its mouth and aiming it directly for Hyrule Castle.

"Alright! Anyone up for some rock roast?" Daruk asked.

Weiss's stomach grumbled. "I could eat."

"I've had some before myself. It's really good!" Nora smiled.

"It's… not too bad." Cinder said.

"Mipha, how about you?"

"Um… I'm not particularly hungry."

"Why, because you're a ghost? Hahaha! We're dead! We can eat as much as we want now!"

"Hmmm…" Mipha rubbed her chin thoughtfully, picturing herself eating a lot of fish without feeling full. "Well, when you put it like that…"

"Excellent!" Daruk grabbed Mipha by the wrist. "Let's go!"

"Wait wait wait! No! This is not what I-"

Daruk jumped away.

"-Meaaaaant!"

Weiss shook her head. "That's Daruk for ya."

"He's fun!" Nora giggled. "Come on, Weiss. I got another Biggoron Sword for ya."

"You do? …Oh right, you mentioned you made a few spares."

"Yeah!" Nora nodded as they walked off together with Cinder accompanying them.

Penny looked at her little bro. "What do you say… wanna explore Goron City?"

Terrako booped as Penny picked him up and flew off toward Goron City.

Daruk landed on the ground and walked into the city with a cheery expression while Mipha had to recompose herself after being subjected to falling from the top of a mountain. Many Gorons looked on in amazement over what they were looking at.

"...I'll be damned." Bludo said. "Daruk, is that really you? Or is my back making me see hallucinations?"

"Hahaha! I am no hallucination… though I may be dead, I'm alive and well in spirit!" He grinned. "Weiss conquered the Calamity within Vah Rudania… so I say the best way to celebrate is by having some good ol' prime rock roast!"

"There's some near Gorko Tunnel. Unfortunately, my brother hasn't returned yet. I fear something may have happened to him." A Goron said.

"I'll be right back!" Daruk said as he went off.

"You sure you know your way around?" Nora asked.

"Of course! I may have been gone for a century, but I still know Death Mountain like the back of my hand!" Daruk grinned as he walked off. "This won't be long!"

As he walked off, Yunobo spotted him and looked on in awe. "No way…"

"Ahem… Weiss!" Bludo approached her. "In gratitude of saving Goron City, there's something I'd like to give you." He said, handing her a treasure chest. When Weiss opened it, she pulled out a replica of the Boulder Breaker.

"Ooof…!" Weiss grunted, using both hands to pull it out. "I see you replicated his weapon."

"It was in honor of Daruk, but since he's holding his weapon around… ah… you can have it. He was a good friend of yours, so I think he'd be honored if you wielded such a weapon."

Weiss smiled and strapped it over her back. "I'll do what I can… it's a bit heavy though." She said as she saw Nora approaching her with another Biggoron Sword.

"Hopefully this one won't break." Nora chuckled as Weiss took it. "So, what ya gonna do now?"

"Oh, probably explore Death Mountain before heading out."

"Ah cool! By the way, if you're looking for Shrines… there's one past the Abandoned North Mine and at Goronbi Lake, it's near the tower." Nora explained. "And I've heard rumors of one being in Gorko Tunnel, but I've never seen it for myself."

"I'll keep that in mind." Weiss said as she turned toward the mine and took off.

As she got closer to the mine, she spotted a mine cart on a track that she hadn't noticed before. She walked over toward it, rubbing her chin in thought. "Okay… how do I push this? I'm not exactly immune to lava unlike Cinder and… possibly Nora. If anything, you'd probably need a good swing or-"

A Luminous Stone shaped lightbulb appeared over her head.

"Aha!"

She immediately used Stasis on it and with Boulder Breaker, she gave several good swings before strapping it to her back again and hopped in.

"Alright, grab on to the side and enjoy the ride." She said before it slowly dawned on her. "Wait… I used a powerfully heavy weapon against a minecart in stasis."

Ding! Ding!

Dingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingding

Weiss paled. "Oh Hylia, what have I-"

DING!

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

The minecart transformed into a rollercoaster, zipping along the rail extremely fast to the point where it almost flew off the tracks or tilted far enough that made Weiss lean to the other side to get it to stabilize… but it was still going incredibly fast.

She saw the end straight ahead, and to her dismay, she wasn't slowing down any time soon. With a whimper, she immediately conjured up ice and shaped it into a helmet that she put it on herself, and braced for impact.

The minecart slammed into the buffer, and while it stopped… Weiss didn't. She went flying and slammed into the shrine head first. She slid down until she came to a stop on her back, her eyes swirling as her helmet broke in half.

"That… went a lot better in my head…" She groaned.

She hobbled up, feeling sore all around as she activated the shrine, using the pedestal to hold her steady as she hobbled in.

"Ganon… if you're somehow seeing this… stop laughing…" Weiss grumbled as she went into the shrine.

BGM: Shrine (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Shora Hah. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."

Blue Flame

"Ugh…" Weiss' head rang as she looked to see lava everywhere. "Oh joy. Life or death." She said as she walked forward, using Magnesis to hold up a metal spike ceiling as she walked under it before she let go.

She then spotted a torch up ahead as she looked around her options. To her left, a blue flame. Straight ahead, a staircase with a missing piece. To her right, a locked door.

She ignited her hand and gently put her flaming hand into the torch, but it didn't light up. "Huh?" She tilted her head in confusion before turning to the blue flame. "I wonder…"

She walked over, using the metal platforms to make a staircase for her, while also making a glyph platform for her to walk across and pulled out a Royal Bow from the chest.

She then turned to the blue flame as she walked over and put her hand on the blue fire. Immediately, she felt the blue flame go around her body. "Whoa!" She said as she felt her body absorb it while the blue flame remained in the torch.

Weiss looked at her hand, igniting a small orange flame on her index finger. She then willed it to turn blue on a whim, causing it to turn blue. "Oooh…" She whispered as she blew it out and then walked downstairs where she used her newly acquired blue fire to ignite the torch, which caused it to actually ignite and caused the door to open.

She walked through some water geysers that were spitting out water as she made her way up to the torch and lit it up, which caused an elevator to lower down with another torch. Weiss brought out her crossbow and ignited an arrow with a blue flame and fired, lighting the torch as a staircase piece moved and locked into place.

"There we go." Weiss moved back to the staircase and walked up, stepping on a switch as a metal spiked ball rolled down a ramp toward her, but she casually stopped it with Magnesis and tossed it into the lava. She walked up the ramp and turned the corner to see four Guardian Scouts.

"...I wonder."

She threw orange fire at the first Guardian Scout, which immediately caused it to burn up and explode, and then she threw blue fire at the second, causing it to act the same way. "...No, what am I doing? I should test it on some organic monsters." She said, lightly smacking her forehead before firing arrows at the last two.

She walked through, opening up one chest that contained a Great Flameblade and the other chest contained a Giant Ancient Core. She lit up the torches with the blue fire and walked in, seeing three more up ahead.

She lit up one and then went to the other, lighting it up… only for a water geyser to spit out water to extinguish it. "Oh…"

She got in the middle and put out both arms as she lit both up at the same time, opening the way forward as she walked through and saw a torch to be lit along with two torches on platforms with water geysers spitting out on both sides.

She lit the torch and then pulled out her crossbow, firing a blue fire arrow when the torches lined themselves up, which caused the fans to kick in and made an updraft.

Weiss hopped off and used her Paraglider to glide her way across, picking up a Forest Dweller's Sword on the way over. She landed on the other side and saw a metal platform with a torch on it, and some water spitting out.

She used Magnesis to move it toward the other side and hopped into a fan to glide over, snagging a Silver Rupee from a chest in the process. She then lit the torch and then moved down, finding some dried leaves and threw a fireball at it, which burned up several Guardian Scouts that were lounging around in it and destroyed them.

She walked up further ahead to find some torches forming a circle. She conjured up a giant blue fireball and threw it down, creating an explosion that ignited all the torches, which opened up the door to the shrine.

"There we go!" She smiled as she walked through to collect her Spirit Orb.

End BGM

Weiss walked out and immediately looked at the minecart and the rail way. "Hahahaha-no." She immediately teleported to Shae Mo'sah's shrine and headed back to Goron City.

Resume Goron City - Day BGM

"Ah, Weiss!" Daruk walked over. "I was beginning to worry about ya. Cinder was saying you went to a shrine but you haven't come back yet."

"Ah, sorry… that shrine was a bit more in-depth than I thought it'd be." Weiss said.

"Ah, understandable! Here ya go!" Daruk handed her some rock roast. "Something to fill that belly of yours!"

Weiss's eyes sparkled, her belly grumbling as she eagerly took it and ate it up, much to the surprise of Mipha.

"Oh… goodness!" Mipha said in surprise as she was holding a prime rock roast for herself. She hesitantly took a bite, having heard that Ruby cracked her teeth while taking a bite out of it. She was worried it'd do the same for her, despite being dead.

Mipha's eyes widened. "Oh. Oh my." She said as she took a few more bites. "Surprisingly delicious!"

She then began to wonder if Revali and Urbosa ever had rock roast and she just now realized how surprisingly meaty and chewy it was despite it being made out of rocks. I can see why Weiss likes this so much.

"I have a question, Daruk. How are we able to eat these if we're not Gorons?" Mipha asked.

"Ah, the rocks have been heated up in lava over time to where it's been turned soft and malleable to where folks can eat it!"

"Yes, but lava is dripping out of it…"

"Ah, that's just the sauce!" Daruk grinned before rubbing his chin. "I know we Gorons eat hard rocks all the time but given the fact that the princess had a toothache when she tried to eat one… hmm… I wonder if it didn't cook all the way through properly…"

Mipha sweatdropped. Okay then…

"Oh, by the way, Weiss!" Daruk said. "There's a shrine over at Gorko Tunnel if ya wanna check it out."

"Oh?" Weiss looked curious.

"Yeah, helped a fellow Goron out when he was too exhausted from mining. So I helped him mine while giving him some rock roast. Heheh, that gave him a boost of energy, that's for sure!"

"I'll go take a look then." Weiss said as she walked off.

"Um… excuse me…" A voice said as Daruk turned to see Yunobo.

"Hmm? What can I do for ya, young lad?"

"I… well… I know this may sound crazy but… I'm your descendant!"

"Huh? What makes you say-"

Yunobo immediately did his Protection, to which Daruk's eyes widened as he did the same.

"Well, I'll be darned! I'd say my line's going pretty well!" He smiled as he wrapped his arm over Yunobo. "Come with me!" He said as Yunobo nodded as the two Gorons walked off.

"Well, how about that." Mipha smiled.

"So, how are you doing?"

"Well… um… I could be doing better. I'm not exactly as brave as I want to be."

"Hmm? What makes you say that?"

"The truth is… I'm cowardly! The slightest look at a monster makes me curl up into a ball and use my own protection to hide behind it… I have to rely on my best friend Nora or Cinder to bail me out… usually Nora!"

"Ah… I'd say you're braver than you'd think."

"Huh?"

"You shoot yourself out of cannons just to deter Rudania from destroying Goron City. That's pretty brave if you ask me!"

"R-Really?"

"Of course! Though, word of advice… being brave doesn't mean you go lookin' for trouble."

Yunobo blushed. "Right…"

Daruk smiled. "That being said, you're a lot tougher than you think you are. So some monsters spook ya… heck, when I was your age, some monsters made me cower up in fear myself!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! There's nothing to be ashamed of when your old man was a bit of a timid rock myself! You're a lot tougher than you'd think… though there's nothing wrong with having friends by your side when you're in a jam. Sometimes you just need a little extra help if things start to go south."

Yunobo smiled. "That's… that's good to hear…"

Daruk still smiled, patting him on the back. "So cheer up! You still got that Goron spirit inside ya!"

Meanwhile, with Weiss…

Weiss looked down at the hill, noticing the dead Lizalfos and Moblins lying on the ground. "Something tells me Daruk had some fun…" She chuckled as she turned around and walked toward the shrine that had been exposed, and then she walked in after activating it.

BGM: Shrine

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Kayra Mah. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."

Greedy Hill

Weiss walked up the steps and saw a steep ramp ahead of her. "Ooookay… something tells me my thighs are gonna be burning." She said as she started to walk up… and saw giant metal balls rolling down at her.

"WHOA!" She got inbetween a gate as giant metal balls rolled down, complete with smaller spiked balls.

"Okay… something tells me this Sheikah is a bit of a sadist." She grimaced as she ran up the hill as some Rupees slid down. She immediately scooped to pick up them up and put them away, and then saw a small opening in a wall.

She immediately ran toward it and dove in as more giant metal balls rolled down the hill. She collected a Ruby for her troubles and then kept going, dodging more traps along the way while scooping up red Rupees.

She went toward the middle path when she realized it was the only safe path against two giant metal balls on each side.

"Hah… hah… okay… no more traps, right? I think I'm in the clea-"

One final trap was sprung as a group of small spiked metal balls dropped down without Weiss even seeing them at the top.

"-Oh come ON."

She knelt down, using her Hylian Shield to protect herself as one ricocheted off of one and struck her ankle, making her wince as she stood up once she thought all were safely passed… but didn't roll around the shield as it stayed then and scraped her shin before rolling down.

"Augh…!" She winced as she limped up until she reached the top. "Hah… hah…" She lay on her back to catch her breath as she looked at the Sheikah that was in the shrine. "You… you're secretly a sadist, aren't you…?"

Once Weiss caught her second wind, she walked over to the shrine to collect her Spirit Orb and felt herself heal up.

"Whew… okay… get me out of here."

Back with Daruk and Yunobo…

Both Gorons were eating some rock roast, smiling as they did so. "So… is there anything that you're really afraid of?"

"Hmm…" Daruk rubbed her chin. "Well, there's one thing, but it's a bit embarrassing."

"I'm sure it's not that ba-"

"Dogs."

Yunobo looked at him in surprise. "Dogs?"

"Yeah, those mutts kept chasing me when I was younger. One actually got me and I was worried it'd chew me up. Instead, it kept slobberin' me with that gross tongue!"

"What kind of dog was it?"

"Ah… there's a proper name for it but I keep forgetting the name of it. There is a nickname for it… I think it was… Sweathaven or something?"

"Oh, a Saint Bernard?"

"That's the one! Yeah, those tongues are revolting…" Daruk shuddered. "You tell me they're sweethearts all ya want, but when you get chased by Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Pitbulls, then you get scared of all of them-"

"...Especially Golden Retrievers?"

"ESPECIALLY Golden Retrievers!"

"Yikes…" Yunobo grimaced. "They messed you up pretty good, huh?"

"Yeah… and when the princess found out about this, bless her heart, she thought the best way to get me to confront my fears was exposure therapy-"

BGM: Whimsical (Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)

"A-Aaack…! P-Princess… wh-what is this…?!"

"It's my dog, Zwei!"

"Woof!"

"That's- that's not a dog! It's a pint sized ankle biter!"

"Oh come on, he's the sweetest Corgi in all of Hyrule!" Ruby smiled as she scratched Zwei's ears. "Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? You are, you are! Yes you are~!"

"Aheheh… princess, with all due respect, I think it'd be in my best interest if-"

"Go get 'im!"

"Woof!"

"AAAACK!" Daruk yelped as he curled up into a ball and used his protection. Zwei walked over and tried to get him to move with his snout.

"Woof!"

Ruby rubbed her chin. "Maybe we oughta try a different approach…"

End BGM

"I swear, she had a sadistic side in her. When she wasn't trying to awaken her powers, she'd come by every day with that little corgi. I… never warmed up to the little guy…"

"Oh, that's a shame."

"Though, I will admit, I do miss the little guy's company, as rascally as he was." He looked up at the sky. "Poor guy's probably missin' his little princess."

"Poor princess…"

"Though, if I recall, Zwei was with us at Mount Lanayru when Ganon attacked, though Urbosa and Mipha played with him while I… respectfully kept my distance. Last I saw him, he went with the princess and Weiss straight for Hyrule Castle… I don't know if the little guy survived or not."

"Hmmm…" Maybe you did warm up to him. Yunobo thought before patting Daruk on the back. "There there…"

"Aheheh… I'm sure the princess may get another loyal mutt when she's rescued. I just hope it's not a chihuahua."

"Oh, those little things are the worst!"

"RIGHT?!"

Weiss walked up toward Goronbi Lake, seeing the shrine up ahead that was surrounded by lava. "Well, what do you know…" She said as she made some glyphs to make her way over and then hopped off with her paraglider and gently descended toward the shrine, activating it and walking in.

BGM: Shrine

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Qua Raym. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."

A Balanced Approach

Weiss looked around, seeing scales around her. "Hmm…" She rubbed her chin as she saw a wooden box on one of them. She threw fire at it, burning it up until it was ash as another scale that was hovering dangerously close to a spiked ceiling lowered to reveal two barrels and a chest.

Weiss opened the chest to reveal a key. She walked over to the locked door but had an idea. She created an exact replica of the key made entirely out of ice. She put it in and twisted it, only for the ice to snap in half.

"Eh… had to try." Weiss shrugged as she put the actual key in, which disintegrated upon use as the door opened up to reveal three metal boxes.

She pulled them out with Magnesis and went right to work, only to spot a few inverted scales with a platform, so she used the metal boxes to lower and raise them up until she got to the platform, opening up a chest to reveal a Knight's Claymore.

She hopped down and went back to work with the metal boxes, having one near her as the scale rose up, only to stop when the metal box hit the spiked ceiling as Weiss harmlessly walked over and collected her Spirit Orb.

End BGM

Weiss walked out with a hum as she turned toward the edge of Death Mountain, feeling as if something was calling out to her. She crossed the lake with her glyphs and climbed up a rock wall until she got to the other side, looking over the land of Hyrule, specifically the Lost Woods.

She even spotted a tower that needed to be activated.

However, she saw a spot that looked familiar to her in the mountain and walked over to it. She looked around before pulling out her Sheikah Slate to get a better look. She then narrowed her eyes before gasping, flashing back to the past.

"Ow ow ow…"

"Just let me look at it."

"I'm fine… really!"

"No, you're not. You're lucky that Lynel just grazed you."

"I know, but- OOOOOW!"

"Hold still, you dolt!"

BGM: Whimsical

Ruby groaned, having a cut on her forearm. "It's not that bad."

"If it's not treated, then it could get seriously infected."

"Oooh… fiiiine…" Ruby groaned as Weiss checked on her wound and then started to heal it up.

"While I do appreciate you helping me out in battle… I think it's a bit much for you to take on a Lynel all on your own, especially a white maned."

They looked to see a plethora of enemies all laid out dead, including a few Lynels. Zwei was nearby, yanking a dead Bokoblin's arm.

"You can't one woman army everything, ya know…" Ruby said. "I want to help out too. I'm more than just a scholar!"

"Yeah, you have a fascination for weapons and you made one yourself. I do question the utility of that scythe though. Like… how much metal did you put on it?"

"Oh, a lot… I just wanted to make Crescent Rose unique!"

"Yeah, makes se-... you named your scythe?"

"You have a named rapier at home, don't you? Myr… something?"

"Myrtenaster, and yes… but that's my father's. Sure, he gave it to me but I got the Master Sword. I feel fine without it."

"Ever thought of dual wielding?"

"...That's only in books."

"You never know~!"

Weiss rolled her eyes as she finished healing Ruby's arm. "There you go, fully healed."

"Ah, thank you!" Ruby giggled.

"By the way… what else did you put into that scythe?"

"Oh, nothing too crazy… but Purah helped me out into making it into a high impact sniper rifle."

"...A what?"

Ruby smiled, picking up Crescent Rose. "It's also a gun."

Weiss sweatdropped. "I'm starting to think Purah's a bad influence on you."

"You mean a good influence~!"

Weiss rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, princess." She said as she turned to the downed beasts. "Soooo… sure a lot of monsters, huh?"

"Yeah… I fear this may be an omen that marks the return of Calamity Ganon…" Ruby got up. "If that's the case, I'm ready to expect the worst. And if that happens, I'll fight the Calamity by your side!"

"Just don't get too reckless on me." Weiss said. "And you still need to awaken your power."

"I know, I know…" Ruby sighed before looking over toward Zwei. "Oh, Zwei! Don't chew on that Bokoblin's arm!" Ruby ran after him. "You don't even know where it's been!"

Weiss chuckled, shaking her head. "Princess… you're such a dolt sometimes." She said with a soft smile. "But you're my dolt."

End BGM

Weiss opened her eyes, softly chuckling in reminiscence.

"Reminscing?" A voice asked as she turned to see Daruk approaching.

"Yeah, just unlocked a memory."

Daruk smiled. "Atta girl!" He said, happily smacking her in the back… and even though Weiss was prepared for it, she still stumbled from the impact.

"Mmmph!" Still don't know your own strength… She turned to him. "So, where are the others?"

"Nora and Cinder are chatting with Yunobo. Penny and Terrako headed back to Hateno while Mipha headed back to Zora's Domain. Me? I'm just taking a walk around and I happened to see ya over here."

"Ah, okay." Weiss nodded. "I dunno where to head next."

"Well, you see that large bird over there?" He pointed off toward the distance.

"Yeah?"

"That's Vah Medoh. If I were you, you'd probably want to head over to Rito Village and save them from Medoh. In fact, you were actually great friends with Revali."

"I was?"

"Yeah! He may act all tough and snarky, but he's got a soft center to it… and I believe he opened up to you. You two were best friends, if you could believe it!"

"Is that so… I'll have to take a look to refresh my memory."

Daruk smiled. "Atta girl!" He chuckled. "You two had a lot of friendly competitions too. It was great to see him smile and be his true self around you!"

"I'd believe it." Weiss chuckled. "Now then, I should be heading off for-"

At that moment, the wind picked up.

"Whoa…! What's with the up draft?"

They heard a roar as they both looked up to see a fire dragon approach them.

"Huh! Not every day you see Dinraal approaching someone." Daruk said.

BGM: Dragon (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"Dinraal…" Weiss whispered as she stared at the dragon looking down at her. Her eyes narrowed before gasping, her eyes widening.

"Oh! Oh oh oh oh oh! Weiss, look at that!" Ruby called out as she pointed toward Death Mountain at the castle.

"What is it?" Weiss wondered as she saw a dragon flying over Death Mountain. "Is that… Dinraal?"

"And look over there!" Ruby pointed to Lake Hylia where another dragon flew over.

"Farosh…"

"And look over to Mount Lanayru!"

Weiss looked to see another dragon in the distance, circling above Lanayru Mountain.

"Naydra… the three protectors of Hyrule. I guess they decided to check on Hyrule."

"Yup!" Ruby smiled. "Oh, seeing them is so cool… I want to see them up close. It'd be so cool to see!"

Weiss smiled. "Well… if we ever get the chance…"

Ruby giggled. "...Say, Weiss. There's something I never told you."

"Hmm?"

"When I was younger, I always wanted to be a dragon… just soaring through the skies without a care in the world, not having to worry about princess responsibilities…" Ruby sighed deeply. "Sometimes, I still wish I was…"

Weiss raised an eyebrow in amusement before chuckling. "I imagine you'd be a pretty dragon."

"You think so?" Ruby's eyes sparkled before frowning. "Of course, I wouldn't have any friends…" She said as she looked at Weiss. "Weiss… if I ever was a dragon, would you still fight by my side?"

Weiss looked at her in surprise. "Wouldn't you be able to take care of things on your own? You're a dragon, you'd be a one dragon army and-"

She looked at Ruby's pleading eyes as she paused before smiling.

"I will still fight by your side, princess… and given that some fear dragons, I'll do everything I can to protect you from dragon piercing spears."

"Thank you!" Ruby hugged Weiss before looking back at the sky. "My mother once told me that if a dragon were to give you a scale, then you would be able to harness their power by their blessing."

"Queen Summer said that?"

"Yeah." Ruby nodded before sighing. "I still miss her… but she was still very wise."

"Huh… I wonder what else she said." Weiss looked off toward the distance.

"She also once told a legend that these dragons were once human… but they partook in some ritual that turned them into immortal dragons."

"Huh… that's an interesting legend. What else did she tell you about legends?"

"Oh, well, there was that one time-"

Weiss opened her eyes, seeing Dinraal get closer to them. The temperature increased as Daruk started to sweat a bit while Weiss looked on in awe.

Dinraal scratched itself, pulling out a scale from his body and dropping it on Weiss before continuing its voyage, letting out a roar.

"Head to the Spring of Power."

"...Did you hear that?" Weiss asked.

"Not really."

"I heard 'Head to the Spring of Power'..." Weiss said as she immediately looked into her Sheikah Slate. "I'll be heading out."

"I'll be here if ya need me!" Daruk said as Weiss teleported away.

End BGM

Weiss arrived at the Katosa Aug Shrine in Akkala as she quickly made a run for it toward the Spring of Power, cutting through the field and ignoring some Bokoblins as she quickly jumped down and landed into the spring, pulling out Dinraal's scale and offering it to the goddess statue.

At that moment, the wall behind the statue opened up, revealing a shrine.

"A great power awaits you."

Weiss looked at the scale in question before walking over to the shrine, activating it and walking in.

As she walked in, Dinraal's scale glowed brightly as it changed the layout of the shrine, transforming it into a Fire Dungeon.

"Whoa!"

"To you who holds the scale of Dinraal, I offer this trial in the name of the goddess Din. If you are powerful enough to prove yourself against this trial, then you will be given a great gift."

Trial of Fire

Weiss closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and exhaling.

"Bring it on!"

BGM: Title & Dragon (Hyrule Warriors Legends)

As soon as she said it, Dodongos jumped out of the lava and roared as Weiss readied her sword and shield. They immediately charged at her and breathed fire, but Weiss rolled out of the way, spotting a Bomb Flower near her. She immediately picked it up and instinctively rolled one into one's mouth, causing it to explode and fell limp.

She immediately did the same for the other Dodongos, running around them as they closed their mouths as she swung down at their tails to get them to open up and forcibly shoved the bombs inside their mouths.

Once they exploded, platforms rose up from the lava as she hopped on them as Bubbles popped out of the lava to try and push her in, but she parried them with her shield as she continued across the path, avoiding a swinging axe at the very end.

She came across a treasure chest nearby as she opened it up, pulling out a hookshot as she raised an eyebrow but trap doors opened up on either side of the walls as flaming boulders came rolling out.

She immediately turned around and fired her Hookshot at a platform, where it yanked her up where the boulders exploded behind her as she climbed over a platform as Fire Keese met her, but she did a spin attack to knock them all away as a platform appeared with a fan on it.

She ran over to it and used her Paraglider to fly up high before landing on a rock platform as she spotted a Beamos turning its head and spotting Weiss, firing at her but she got out of the way of its laser and fired a Bomb Arrow at the Beamos to destroy it.

With a nod, she ran forward… only to get ambushed by a Like Like as it grabbed her from above. "Mmmph!"

It was about to swallow her whole… but she fired a point blank Bomb Arrow into its core, which spat her out as she was covered in soot as she then fired at the core to destroy it, which dropped a chest as she opened it up to pull out Gold Gauntlets.

"What the…?" She wondered before shrugging, putting them on as she ran forward, only to be stopped by a rock pillar.

She immediately turned around to see herself surrounded by Fire Keese, Stalfos, ReDeads, Gibdos and Helmasaurs as she looked back at the rock pillar and then slowly reached down to pick it up and with her strength, she lifted it up into the air and swung it around, destroying them all with one swing as the rock pillar shattered.

She went into the door and ran inside, finding herself in a pool of lava where she saw a dragon tail dangling from the ceiling. Immediately, Gohma launched out of the pool of lava and hissed at her, proceeding to spit out fire but Weiss blocked with her shield as she fired an arrow to stun it before instinctively using the Hookshot on the tail to swing herself forward, dropping a slab of rock on top of Gohma to crush her.

A door appeared in front of her as she immediately ran through, quickly cutting through Fire Octoroks and Fire Keese, quickly running up a spiral staircase before finding a door and running through, finding herself at an arena.

"You have done well thus far… but are you able to handle the true power of the dragon of fire? We will find out!"

BGM: Molgera (Hyrule Warriors Legends)

Immediately, a shadow came up from above before a large three headed fire dragon came crashing down and roared in front of Weiss. She took a step back before she readied herself, having a determined look as the Gleeok roared.

The Gleeok unleashed a powerful fire breath but Weiss rolled out of the way and fired a few bomb arrows at the three headed dragon, stunning all three as Weiss ran over, using her Biggoron Sword to swing at the three, slashing at them efficiently.

Immediately, the Gleeok got back up and flapped its wings, pushing Weiss back as one head extended toward her to bite down, but she blocked with her shield and parried it, then countered by swinging the blade and cutting through the neck to destroy the first head.

However, the head rose up and roared at Weiss, causing her eyes to widen in surprise as she quickly avoided the snapping as the two other heads breathed fire at her. Great, this is annoying… She thought.

The Gleeok jumped up into the air and slammed down, creating a fiery shockwave that forced Weiss to jump as the floating head flew toward Weiss. "I don't have time for you!" She said, using Stasis on the head and then slashed at the beast quickly before stopping Stasis, sending the head into the middle head's mouth right as it opened up.

The middle head looked down as it tried to get its fellow head out of its mouth as Weiss pulled out the Giant Boomerang and threw it, sending it flying and cutting through the two heads before firing a Bomb Arrow at the heads as she ran over and cut through the heads.

"Ha!" She smirked, but to her shock, the three heads surrounded her while the body fell limp. She grimaced as she quickly avoided the bites and fireballs, where one flanked her and bit down on her arm as the other flanked and got her other arm.

"Agh!" She grimaced as the other head moved toward her and then breathed fire directly at her face… but her earrings glowed brightly, absorbing the damage as Weiss let out a growl and conjured up ice in her hands to freeze the two heads, dropping her to the ground as the ice shattered but the heads were stunned as she fired an ice arrow at the other head.

She turned to the body as she looked at her gold gauntlets, getting an idea as she ran ahead and picked up the the body. "Hup… haaaah…!" She yelled, breathing deeply before picking up the entire body as she turned around.

"Heads up!" She said, throwing it toward the heads right as they snapped out of it… only to get crushed by the body, flattening them to destroy them.

"Hah… hah… anyone ELSE?" She demanded to know but nothing came. "Good."

The door opened up behind her as she turned around and walked through the door, expecting something hostile on the other side… but she looked on to see torches lit up around her, a pathway heading straight for a goddess statue, where the statue looked different… as it looked like Din herself.

Not only that, but the Triforce was behind the goddess statue as she slowly approached the statue.

"You have done well with my trial. You have shown your strength and your resolve to partake of this trial. Pull out Dinraal's scale."

Weiss pulled it out as it glowed brightly, where it suddenly was absorbed into her skin. "Whoa…!" She yelped as a tattoo of fire rose up on her right hand and ended on her shoulder as it turned into scales as well.

"You now have the power of Dinraal by your side. By using the power of the dragon, you can unleash Din's Fire."

Weiss looked at her arm and scratched herself, feeling quite relieved the scales were just ink and not actual dragon scales.

"Here's an extra bonus." Din said as Weiss felt rejuvenated and felt as if her stamina was increased as well. "Use this power well. Find the dragon powers of Naydra and Farosh."

Weiss felt herself surrounded by light as she found herself standing at the spring of power.

"...if this is what you were hiding from Ruby, you owe her an apology." She said as she walked off, where she walked through some vines, forgetting about the flying Guardians as she felt laser pointers aimed at herself.

"Huh? …Oh. Forgot about you." She said as she had an idea. "Let's try this out."

She closed her eyes where her dragon tattoo glowed orange. It was enough to make the Guardians stop charging up and curiously looked at what she was doing. She opened her eyes, where her eyes changed draconically.

"HAAAAAAAH!" She punched the ground, creating a massive explosion that caught all three Guardians in its wake and singed everything around her.

The dragon tattoo stopped glowing as her eyes went back to normal as she looked around to see the Guardians all destroyed and the grass burnt up while the boulders had burn marks on them.

"Huh! I could get used to this…"

She walked off, happy with her newfound power… though she did wonder why she felt a bit mentally exhausted after using it once.

On a whim, I thought about doing something entirely wild with Dinraal's Scale. I thought of having Weiss use Din's Fire in the trial after she got the scale, but then I went "...What if I did something completely different that's not another fight with a Guardian Scout?" and well... I cooked up THIS.
