Kerchak hugged Kala. He felt tears come to his own eyes. They came so close to losing Moonlight. They had lost her for forty-eight hours. That is the worst fear of any parent. After awhile Kala calmed down.

"I'm so sorry," she said, "I guess I just got a little emotional."

"Hey," he said, drying her eyes, "It's alright. It was overwhelming."

"What if Starboard comes after her again?"

"He won't," Kerchak reassured Kala, "I made sure of it."

He filled Kala in on the "conversation" between Starboard and himself.

"Well done," she told him.

He smiled at her praise.

Moonlight woke up soon after. She climbed out of her nest.

"Oh GOD she's moving on her own," Kerchak whispered, "Three months old and she's moving on her own"

"Three months and six days," Kala corrected, laughing.

Kala scooped Moonlight into her arms. She tickled her, causing Moonlight to laugh.

"She is so incredible," Kerchak whispered to Kala, "Even after what she went through she's still such a happy child."

Thunder started and Kerchak could see lightning flash.

"Everyone in the cave," he ordered.

Moonlight ran ahead to the cave. The others hurried to keep up. Kala and Kerchak were right at her feet. Before she could get into the cave Kala whispered, "Not yet. We must wait for everyone to get here first so nobody gets lost."

After what seemed like forever but was probably only a few minutes, the others caught up to them. Moonlight was scared of thunder.

"Oh honey," Kerchak said, "Thunder is just GOD's way of talking loudly."

"What is He saying?" Moonlight asked.

"Well, He's saying that Moonlight is the best gorilla in the whole world," Kala said.

Moonlight giggled.

"What made you guys name me Moonlight?" Moonlight asked.

"When you were born there was Moonlight peaking over the horizon," Kerchak said, "So Moonlight seemed like the perfect name for you."

"I love that," Moonlight smiled.

"We love you," Kala said.

Terk and Honda were wrestling. Kerchak clapped his hands together.

"Not in here," he said as Terk and Honda looked up, "Someone could get hurt."

They stopped immediately.
