Sorry about the late publish, my laptop charger broke and I had to find its replacement.
Anyway...
not gonna lie, but this story's kinda hard to make due to the canonical events in the game's still unfinished, but hopefully, I can create a slight paradox timeline that doesn't trail too far away from the main timeline.
Chapter 2, The lives of two goddesses
START!
Thousands of years passed like a blink of an eye to Enikk, who now lived among the mortals in the western part of the planet, more specifically, Germany.
Why Germany?
Unlike Japan which had an average height of 1,72 m for males and 1,58 m for females, Germany had an average height of 1,8 m for males which translated to 5'9 ft, and 1,66 for females, which translated to 5'4 ft in height.
Yes, those numbers were still smaller than hers, but just as she said before… on average.
There were a lot of tall people in Germany, some even passed the bar of 6 ft, which was pretty impressive and rare these days.
Humans seemed to become smaller and smaller as the years passed by.
Anyway…
Since the people in Germany were a lot taller compared to Japan, she decided to move in a few years back before the war started.
And yes, war.
She had seen civilizations rise and fall, and the surviving people who were there at the time wrote books about the despair and uselessness of wars. Yet despite all of the books depicting wars across history, humans kept making mistakes and started another war.
So foolish…
Oh well, not her problem in the first place.
"Hmm"
Once she Equipped her black, mourning dress and placed a veil over her head, Enikk soon walked to the outside after she took a black umbrella that was wide enough to give shade for her whole body.
Hah…
Mourning dress, they called it.
She covered her entire legs and hands with socks and gloves, her entire body with a black dress, and her whole face with a veil not because she was mourning, but because her body from years ago was still incomplete.
She had no skin.
No eyes.
And not even real flesh.
Thus, she covered up everything until nothing could be seen from the outside. And because she always walked all alone in the morning, the people back there saw her as a lonely woman who lost her husband in an accident.
Where was it again…?
"Hmm… Romania… I think?"
Perhaps she was wrong, perhaps she was right… at the end of the day, people started to copy her attire and called it a mourning dress.
From Romania, the attire was spearheaded across Western countries.
Not that she cared about it, but it was still amusing to think about…
"…"
For an hour or so, Enikk walked around the edge of town where she lives and allowed herself to reminisce about the old days when she and her creator lived together with nature itself acting as their home.
This was a morning routine for her.
And when the sun started to rise, she'd choose to find a shade under a tree and gaze at the horizon while touching the valley of her breasts beneath her clothing, caressing the face of her creator with nothing but loving gentleness with each touch.
"Naruto… I hope I can wake you up soon. I'm sorry it's taking me a very long time to do so… but humans… they are pretty foolish, it seems"
With a gentle whisper and a loving smile on her lips, Enikk said those words toward her dearest creator, only to receive no answer from the outline of a face on her chest.
Not a surprise, to her.
But he had talked to her and her sister back when they were nothing but a pair of spider-shaped robots. Day after day, he'd spent hours talking to them despite they could not give him any answer at that time, and such a thing bewildered her and made her think that her creator might have hit his head when he was a child.
But now… she understood his feelings.
The response isn't important…
'He's here, inside me, body and soul'
And his presence alone gives her the power to go on and keep living, even though the world without his smile indeed feels very empty.
"So, you see… I met this person yesterday, and after I scanned his head from afar, I saw potential in him… so I wrote some formulas from the Ark and sent them to this person. I hope he can create something beneficial for the human race with his new knowledge…"
Enikk kept talking, smiling all the way while touching the outline of the face of her dearest.
"His name…? I think it was Albert Eins-something…"
.
..
..
Hours passed, and Enikk soon decided to finish the day and walked back to her house, but not before she bought a basket of bread from the bread shop.
A being like her needed no food to stay alive.
But she did live without eating a few years back and people started calling her a witch.
What she did…?
She burned them along with their village and then wiped them out from the annal of history itself. Of course, she took no pleasure in doing such a thing and didn't want to repeat her past actions.
To her, humans were like a pest.
She will only wipe them out when they start to gang up on her and disturb her peaceful days.
"Another nice day spent with my beloved"
Enikk said to herself with a smile as she entered her house with a folded umbrella in one hand and a basket full of loaves of bread in another.
Overall, a nicely spent day.
~With Ori~
For Ori… days of waiting for Naruto's return and protecting nature felt like years.
And each year she spent all alone felt like a millennial.
But she didn't lose hope…
At least, at first.
"…"
Flying high in the sky, Ori tried her very best not to screech in hatred when she saw a group of humans burning the forest and killing the animals inside indiscriminately.
They didn't cut the tree for papers.
Not killing animals to eat.
They just destroyed everything… all to widen the size of their field.
"Naruto… what would you do if you saw this…?"
Ori asked herself, despite already knowing the answer.
Her creator had a green thumb…
Beds of flowers had decorated the entrance of their den. And even when some worms ate the leaves and petals of the flowers that he had taken care of with love, he'd only smile and snap the leaf -or petal- and place it high on a tree, where the worm would have more food.
"You see, worms need to eat or they'll die from hunger. And when they grow up, they will become butterflies that help the flowers to grow and spread, creating even more beautiful flowers"
It was a needed act of destruction to create more life… a cycle, he once said.
If…
If he saw the needless act of destruction in front of Ori, she knew deep down what her creator would do.
He'd fight.
"… I hope you're ready to meet your maker, humans"
And with that thought in mind, Ori channeled her divine energy across her whole being, enlarging her body and wings until the sun itself could no longer be seen by the people under her.
And after she did, she announced her arrival.
SCREEECH!
~Time skip~
"Just what are you doing, Ori…?"
Hundreds of years into the future, the world has become a barren land due to humans who kept corrupting the land and a new threat that blindly attacks human civilizations.
Raptures…
Mechanical creatures resembling animals -only much, much bigger and dangerous- that seemingly didn't have a mind of their own and would kill any humans if they saw any, children and women included.
And now, humans have established UFH, or United Force of Humanity, to get rid of raptures for good.
Of course, their weapons were only able to destroy the weakest class among raptures while not even being able to scratch the class above that, something that didn't surprise Enikk in the first place since all of the humans' weaponry came from her knowledge...
The knowledge that Ori can access too if she ever wants.
"…"
Of course, Enikk had been silent at first, trusting her sister probably had a reason for her actions, no matter how bad it was.
But then a year passed and humanity was already on the brink of extinction.
Yet the raptures didn't seem to have any intention to stop…
"Excuse me, are you the scientist who said she has an idea for a new weapon against raptures?"
As a man came to her and started to talk, Enikk stood at her full height and gave him her full attention… by looking down at him, that is.
"Yes, my name's Enikk. It's nice to meet you"
"I-It's nice to meet you too, please, follow me"
.
..
..
It took Enikk a full year to create a name for herself among the group of highly famous scientists, creating several innovations that blew everyone's mind.
And after a year of gathering resources and taking names, she called almost every named scientist to hear her idea to face against raptures. And for the location itself, where else if not the so-called 'safest' place on the earth?
UFH HQ.
Of course, her statement would make most people disregard her almost immediately if not for the reputation she had gathered for herself. But since she was a famous scientist, everyone flocked together to hear her idea, including several people from UFH's top branches.
Actually, she was currently being broadcast across all nations.
So, no pressure there…
"Please wait a minute, I'm gathering my thoughts"
She said calmly in front of hundreds of people, getting a few nods of understanding from some of them.
However, despite her words and thoughts, it took her only a few seconds to calm her nerves and straighten her back. And of course, by this point, some people were muttering curiously about her inhuman height, although some people who had the pleasure of working with prof Enikk would know that her height was possible because of a chemical that she made personally.
Idiots, both of them.
Sigh
Time to put her plan into motion.
.
..
..
"Nuke's cost is too high, tanks are too big, ballistic weapons are too heavy. Facing raptures that no one could scratch using normal weapons is suicide. Thus far, only something as powerful as tanks could destroy a rapture… the lowest class that is, but do we have enough resources and time to create so many tanks?"
"We don't, that's the answer"
"Today, I'll propose an idea to create a compact, smaller, yet still as strong as tank, weapon. And because it is going to be my own creation, I'll name this weapon… Nikke"
All alone on the roof of UFH HQ, Enikk was holding a tablet in her hands, watching her performance that finished just a few minutes ago.
People were ecstatic.
They were happy that she had an idea to create a more compact, mobile, and cheaper weapon. Alas, the moment she said that the weapon, Nikke would need a human brain to function, some people backed away, unhappy about her way to control a weapon.
Right on the spot, she challenged them to tell her another idea to control a compact weapon without a human's brain.
"W-We can use remote controller"
"It'll have range limitation, prone to hacks, jamming, and worse of all, enemies might know our location by tracking remote's signal"
"T-T-Then how abou-"
"Don't shutter, you're not a kid. Sure, Nikke would be nothing but cruel experimentation on humans if we were in a peaceful time. But in a war against mysterious forces like raptures? You can only choose to fight as human and die, or cast away your humanity for the victory of mankind"
She still remembered the expression of disbelief that other scientists had on their faces, how unhappy they were at her for considering such an idea.
But in the end, she said nothing but fact.
Still, one person struggled to accept the cruel reality and tried to paint her in bad light.
"Brain extraction will need extreme care that even an expert won't be able to guarantee one hundred percent success. Adding the transplantation of an organ into a machine on top of that, how high the survivability rate you can give us?"
"Considering that I am also a Nikke…? Pretty sure I can give you one hundred percent"
The room was in uproar the moment she said those words.
Shock.
Disbelief.
And hopes could be seen in the eyes of the people.
Of course, someone wanted to see proof that she was, in fact, a Nikke.
"Right here, right now… shoot me if you have a pistol strapped to your belt"
Of course, there were some minutes of hesitation.
Fortunately, one sharp-shooter decided to shoot her in the thigh, something that would be non-fatal and could be treated immediately if the worst case ever happened.
And with a loud clank, the bullet bounced.
One became two.
Two became four.
And four became a barrage of non-stop bullets.
Yet even against all of those bullets shooting at her, Enikk kept her calm and actually was unhappy that her watch got shot and broke.
But except for that, she stood like a tank and took no damage.
"All right, that's enough. And as I said before… with Nikkes, if any of them got injured and can no longer fight, any surviving members in an encounter can always eject the Nikke's head with a button press and bring it to the base. So long the head's intact, we can always create new bodies for each Nikke"
After she watched her own performance and felt rather proud about it, Enikk soon turned off her tablet and touched the middle of her chest.
Perhaps with the knowledge to create Nikkes, humans might finally be able to give her an idea to dismantle RCD.
Now, she just needed to wait for the fish to take the bait…
~Time skip~
"Professor, you're here! Please, we need your help!"
"Hmm…? What is it?"
Enikk was just walking across the hall in UFH when a scientist ran toward her and called her with an expression of panic plastered on his face.
She herself was still as calm as a cucumber and raised one of her eyebrows.
"We just got two new brains, but when we tried to implant both brains into their custom-made machine bodies, the bodies started to malfunction and refuse to connect to the brain. Please, we need your help!"
"All right, show me the data, and lead me the way"
The scientist quickly gave Enikk a small stack of papers which she read while following the now-running man with ease. After all, being tall enough to tower over most, if not all humans meant her legs were long enough to walk at the same speed as a running person.
As for the papers… it was kind of amusing…
"Say… I told you and everyone else that we'll no longer accept the brain from males, girls under fifteen, and women above thirty, right?"
Enikk said to the scientist who stopped in front of a door, breathing somewhat roughly. And when he heard the words that his superior said, confusion was obvious in his eyes.
"But both donors stated that they are going to be sixteen this year, and they're positive females with no X chromosome"
Amused, Enikk shoved the stack of papers back into the hands of the scientist, with the paper that held the photos for both donors at the top.
"Forget about what they said, take a look at their photos and guess their age"
"T-They look like twelve, at most. I… I'm sorry… I should have prepared more precautions for something like this… please… can you save both of them?"
As guilt started to eat the scientist's heart, the man almost cried, for it was his fault that both girls were accepted as donors in the first place.
Seeing this, Enikk smiled kindly at him.
Humans…
They were like a pest with their constant bickers and fights. But even then, she knew they had a potential for kindness like no others.
Naruto, her dearest creator was a human too, after all.
"I'll handle it, you can go and adjust the weapons planned for these two and make them stronger since I might make these girls a lot stronger than what you've predicted"
"Y-Yes ma'am! And thank you very much!"
Grateful that he was not going to take the lives of two innocent girls, the scientist had a large smile on his face and gave Enikk a salute before he ran to the weapons storage.
The ancestor of Nikke herself shook her head amusedly here.
Humans…
"…"
With no words needed to be said, Enikk soon entered the door and locked it before she walked toward two skinless robots that were convulsing rather roughly.
Hmm… it looked like the bodies were refusing to connect with the brains.
"Calm down"
With her natural power to control all things mechanical, Enikk made the mechanical bodies to stop their convulsion. And manually, she then opened the head part of the robots to observe the brains.
Everything looked correct and tidy…
"Guess the problem really lay on the donors' age"
Enikk said her conclusion since everything was in order despite the scientist whom she met minutes ago looked new.
And after she said this, her hands started to glow blue…
"I guess Liliweiss will have to accommodate two new bloods for her squad"
.
.
..
It took her hours of work, but once she finished hard-wiring both machines so they could connect to younger brains, everything started to work in order.
Of course, she didn't want to waste her time resting…
"Oh… professor, are you done? H-How are they…?"
However, the second Enikk exited the room, the scientist that she met hours ago was already waiting for her in the hall, seemingly worried for both donors.
"That I did, and they're fine. You just need to do the finishing touch… and do put those two in Liliweiss's squad once you're done"
"Understood, ma'am!"
With that, Enikk soon left the hall so she could continue her walks.
But honestly, there's nothing nice to see in UFH.
No greenery.
No animals.
No fresh and clean air.
Just old, durable bunkers made of several inches of steel plates that smelled like rusted iron and gunpowder despite it was supposed to be the place where they created saviors of humanity.
And yeah, normal humans are no longer needed to fight at the frontline now.
"So boring… I guess I'll go to the library instead and read some literature"
After all, better library than nothing.
Alas, UFH just didn't have a private place where she could talk her heart out to her dearest Naruto.
~Skip~
Once again, years passed and Enikk had found the library to be quite a nice place to sit and enjoy life, even though she had thought the place as something she'd never visit, at first.
After all, she was made to be the smartest being in the world and can connect her thoughts to the archives in the ark.
But she hadn't expected humans whom she thought as far more stupid than her to be quite imaginative when it comes to works of literature.
More so sexual ones…
She had learned so many sexual positions from the sex literature that she read, whether from real books or internet sites.
"I can't wait to test everything with you, my dear"
But even after she read so many dirty books, even a passing thought to have sex with someone else other than Naruto never crossed Enikk's mind.
To her, he was her world.
Her everything.
And with nothing but love, Enikk gently touches the outline of his face beneath her skin in the valley of her breasts, imagining that the face was moving and struggling to breathe, only to be choked by a thick scent of her odor.
"Ufufu~"
Amused by her own thoughts, Enikk let out a small laugh.
According to human sexual literature, her current situation with her dearest Naruto can be tagged as femdom and living clothes, two tags that most, if not all people will call kinky.
"U-Umm… what are you doing, madam?"
Alas, before Enikk could delve even deeper into her dirty imagination, a rather unfamiliar voice rang and disturbed her thoughts.
Calmly, the mother of all Nikkes closed the book in her hand and turned her face to the left, where she saw the new recruit, one among two girls that she saved years ago.
She was a young woman now.
"Just imagining a day where someone dear to me still smiling and breathing, Rapunzel"
Softly, Enikk talked to the young woman before her like she was talking to a kid, a smile on her lips.
Said young woman, now named Rapunzel nervously bowed in apologise, something that her superior waved away since she hadn't felt offended by her disturbance at all.
"Umm… your late husband, I presume?"
"Husband…?"
For a bit, Enikk paused, not because she was confused, but because she was comparing the data in her mind.
She was reading everything that she knew about the words 'husband' and 'marriage', which then she compared to her feelings for her dearest creator.
And nope, it was slightly different…
"He made me into the person am I today, power-wise and personality-wise. And without him, I'd not exist in the first place. He was not my husband… but to me, he is my everything"
"…"
By the time Enikk finished her sentence, Rapunzel was left speechless. But soon, a pair of stars replaced the Nikke's irises, something that screamed 'so cool!' if she were Naruto.
But since the young woman wasn't Naruto, she was probably thinking something like…
'So beautiful'
Or
'So romantic'
"H-He must be a great person, then. I actually kind of want to meet him now"
"Is that so…?"
Amused, Enikk let out another smile for the young woman turned Nikke before her.
But…
"You actually have met him, you know?"
"E-Eh…? but I thought this person has died…?"
"That he is… however, I took a small sample from my dearest's body and injected it into the DNA of a woman I trusted back in the past. You might not have met my dearest, but you did meet his son"
Shocked beyond belief, Rapunzel widened her eyes and dropped the staff that was her weapon.
But just to make sure…
"D-Don't tell me"
"Yeah… your commander is a son of mine, although I should call him a creation instead of a son"
.
..
..
Days passed, and Rapunzel still could not wrap her head around the mysterious creator of Nikkes, Enikk, and the words she said to her.
Her commander was a child created using science?
Of course, since she had been thinking about this nagging question in her mind for the last few days, Rapunzel's allies took notice of her unfocused eyes in the meetings and gatherings. Thus, when a few days passed and they still didn't see any change in her, they voted to call her and just ask.
"So… Rapunzel. I didn't want to ask this, but everyone had voted against me, hahaha! So, I'll just ask this, what seems to be the problem?"
With a booming laugh that had no filter and with his legs above the table, Rapunzel's commander, a person of impressive height with a brown mop of hair atop his head was a person that can be called a brute.
But very different from other commanders, this particular commander does care about the Nikkes under him very much.
His fiancé, Liliweiss was a Nikke herself, after all.
"U-Umm… I don't know whether I'm allowed to say it or not…"
Of course, the moment Rapunzel said those words, her teammates started to gather around her, trying to convince her just to tell them so they could fix it together.
Red Hood was slinging her arm around her neck, acting like a brutish big sister.
Liliweiss kept her position beside her fiancé, commander, and superior.
And Dorothy, her friend was poking her ribs so that she just gives up.
"Hmm…"
Unlike the others, however, the commander himself had a deep-thinking look on his face for a quick second, an expression that was pretty rare coming from him.
Soon, he asked Rapunzel a question…
"Who did you meet, a few days ago?"
"I… I met Madam Enikk"
As soon Rapunzel said her answer, the commander's stiff shoulders started to relax as the man himself let out a bellowing laugh.
"Ahahaha! Thank god, here I thought you met those vultures from other squads and they tried to scout you!"
Uncaring that his voice might be heard from the outside, the commander let out another loud laugh. And seeing this, Rapunzel gripped her fists tightly.
"B-But you don't know what she said to me!"
"Considering the thing she could say to you that makes you all jittery like this is probably something about me… of course I can guess what she said"
"… You knew?"
Became speechless for a minute or so, Rapunzel tried to observe for any deceit in her commander's eyes, only to find none.
Although before she could say something else, Liliweiss took a step forward…
"What did someone like madam Enikk say to you about our commander? Our commander was a mercenary before he joined the UFH and became a squad leader for the Goddess squad, they should have no connection with each other"
"Um… Liliweiss… you didn't know?"
"I don't know, so please, enlighten me"
Stood frozen under the strict and cold gaze of her senior, Rapunzel tried to ask for help by turning her eyes toward the direction of her commander.
Said commander, however, waved her away, followed by a sentence…
"Cat gotta out of the bag eventually, why don't you just tell them, Rapunzel?"
Well… if the commander himself was all right about it, guess she had no other choice, Rapunzel thought to herself.
.
..
Time to tell a tale…
