7:00PM
It was time for the first challenge of the second season, the sky a bright orange as the sun was nearing its descent past the horizon. The camera pans to a lake shore, where a large sand sculpture of the camp grounds was built. On the opposite side are 22 pedestals, having piggy banks encased in locked glass boxes. Over the lake is a series of obstacles.
The players then arrived in their swim attire, "Come on in guys!" Greg called as the contestants gathered on the big cyan mat. "You guys ready for the first challenge of the new season?" They cheered. "Alright, here's how this works."
"Once I give the signal, you will all start by digging through this sand sculpture of the official Total Drama Diamond Lake campsite. You will search for a key attached to a mini hammer, once you find a key you will make your way across the lake over the various obstacles. The floating steps, the rope swing, the Big Balls, and the archway, if you fall in the water at any point you will have the restart the course. Once you make it past the lake, you will unlock the glass box using the key you found. Upon opening the glass box, inside is a piggy bank. Which you will have to break open, and look for one of the colored flags. Blue or orange. The first complete team will win the challenge, and tonight's reward. An all expenses paid dinner at Maggianos!"
The cast cheered. "Alright kids, the first challenge is about to begin! In 3." The cast got in starting stances, Bradley wags his fox tail that ones out of his dark blue trunks, Skarla scratches her forearm as she wears an icy blue one piece with a snowflake pattern. "2." Holden adjusts his goggles as he wears black trunks, Rose picks her nose as she's in her swim gear from last time, the veterans wore their swim gear from the first season. "1." Dawson cracked his neck in his camo trunks. Brodie does the same in bee patterned trunks, making a meal cracking noise with his mouth as he lightly moves his head.
"GO!"
The kids ran to the sand camp, taking various spots and started digging. Clawing at sand in search of the keys they need, Sydney on the other using robot arms sprouted from her backpack to increase her digging ability. She wore an orange one piece, with her scarf still on, her hat gone as her purple hair was flowing freely.
"Zandy right?" Maria asks the cowgirl who wore a cow print bikini.
"That's my name." Zandy said to the clown who wore a yellow checkered one piece, the jokester then appeared covered in sand.
"I'm Sandy!"
Zandy chuckled as she got back to digging.
Due to the extra arms, Sydney was the first to find a hammer & key. She smiled before she heads to the course, "And we have our first key found, Sydney takes the inaugural run of the course!" Greg announced.
"Rube." Dawson groaned as he dug faster.
Dawson: Easy to find a key with 4 metal arms assisting you, no matter. She won't get past the course.
Sydney goes up to the first obstacle, she slips her hammer into her swimsuit as started hoping from one step to the other. She hops onto the second platform, she takes the rope and begins to swing. But her grip slipped and fell in the water.
Sydney shows on her water messes with her robo arms, so she had to retract them incase she fell off.
As Sydney swam back, the others kept on digging. "Come on, come on." Lamont said as he dug into the sand boy's cabin, before he finds his own key and hammer "Yes!"
"And Lamont has his first key, he now takes the course while Sydney swims back!" Greg called, "Reminder if you fall at any point, you must redo the course!"
"We know!" Holden exclaimed.
"I'm sorry can you repeat that? I wasn't listening." Bradley asked Greg.
Lamont holds onto the mini hammer as he bounds over the steps, he then swings over the gap of the swing with one hand onto the narrow platform. He then leaped down onto the next walkway before he bounded across the big balls. After that he bites down on the hammer as he starts the archway, traversing the curved obstacle using a series of knobs.
"Go Lamont!" Zeeb cheered his new friend on, the alien wore a black swim shirt over pink trunks.
As he started that, Zandy finds her first key and starts the course. Following behind her was Rose, who found a key and hammer. The cowgirl and the cage fighter bounded over the floating steps before Zandy nailed the rope swing "YEEHAW!"
When Rose took her turn she cautiously grabbed the rope, "Okay, here we go." She makes her swing, but since she couldn't sense the larding pad she overshoots and falls into the water. "And Rose goes down while Zandy is onto the big balls!"
And it looks like Lamont has cleared the archway, leaping down onto the sand past a red line of tape.
"And we have our first course finisher, Lamont now with a chance to become the first member of one of this season's teams!" Greg called.
Lamont jogs to the first lock he sees and inserts the key, which didn't turn. "No." He then checked a few more locks as Zandy starts the archway. "No, no, no." He then attempts his 5th lock, which he heard a click. "Yes!"
"Lamont opens the first case! What's his prize for this?" Greg questions before Lamont pulls out the piggy bank and breaks it open with the mini hammer...
.
.
.
.
.
.
... "AND LAMONT FINDS THE FIRST ORANGE FLAG!" Greg calls as Lamont smiled as he takes his flag.
The cast gives a small clap before they get back to digging, with Sydney taking her second run at the steps. As she does that Zandy is about halfway through the archway, her arms extended as she reaches for the next knob, "Almost... got it..." she then misses the knob, but she recovers and grabs it again before launching herself across the second half and past the finish line.
"And Zandy becomes the second camper to finish the course, she makes the first attempt at the banks." Greg called as Zandy looks around the glass boxes and checks each one.
"Come on, come on." Holden repeated as he digs in the sand.
"AHA! I HAVE ACQUIRED MY KEY TO VICTORY!" Zeeb howled as he held up a key and mini hammer dramatically before heading to the ramp.
"Crud." Holden searched more frantically as Bradley then finds a hammer.
"Got one!" He called.
"Me too!" Brodie said as the two followed Zeeb to the first obstacle.
"And we have a number of players making their first attempt at the course." Greg commentated, "Meanwhile Rose tries her second attempt at the rope swing, this course much different from when she first tried it in last season's opening challenge."
Rose grabs the rope, "Okay, overshot it. So I gotta lower my swing." She leaps, and ends up under shooting as she missed the platform. Sydney meanwhile had leaped off the fourth big ball, she took in a deep breath and shook her arms as she readies for the last obstacle.
While Zeeb, Bradley, and Brodie all bound across the floating steps, Zandy finds the glass box and to her key "Yes!" She opens the box and uses her mini hammer and breaks open the piggy bank.
"And we have our first member of the blue team!" Greg called as Zandy grabs her new blue flag.
"YEEEEEEHAAAAW!" Zandy cheered as she does a line dance.
At the rope swing, Zeeb landed on the platform. "HAHA!" He was then dropped by a secret fall away platform, "WAH!"
"And Zeeb takes a fall at the platform." Greg said.
Bradley sticks the landing, he hops down to the walkway as Brodie makes the swing. Zeeb squeaks and squeals as he swims to the front of the course.
Holden: Well least I know he's not the burning from water kind of alien, there goes my Signs strategy.
Zeeb: Thank goodness I applied my instant drying paste before the challenge, that surprisingly glittering earth water would have burned me to a crisp!
Sydney finishes the archway, sighing in relief to herself before she looks through the glass boxes. She thankfully found a match on her second lock, opening it up and smashing the piggy bank inside. Finding no flag, which made her give a groaning face but she did find a note.
"Whoever finds this note, can find a way to keep their stay." The note said as Sydney quickly pocketed the note.
Karen, Maria, and Ursula find their keys before heading to the course. Skarla groaned as she kept digging, "This is taking forever!"
"Do not be discouraged my pupil, leads are like common house flies and relationships in reality television programs!" Griff told his frosty scientist student, "They don't last very long."
Karen and Maria make it past the steps, but Ursula misses the fifth step and splashes into the water. Bradley bounds across the big balls, Brodie on the other hand had bounced off the first ball.
Dawson finds a hammer before he sprints to the course. The military hopeful bounds one side of the steps before he leaps across the rope swing gap at the same time Karen takes her swing. Dawson hops down to the walkway as Karen is wide eyed at the passing camper. "Woah!"
"That guy has come to play." Maria comments to the camera before it shows Dawson sprinting across the balls before he shoots up the archway, passing by Bradley as he was hanging from the center knobs.
"And Dawson finishes the course in a blazing 16 seconds!" Greg announces, "A performance Roman would be proud of."
Dawson: Boom.
"Hope he doesn't have Roman's anger issues." Griff whispers to Post as the male veterans find their keys, right as Sydney comes back to find another key.
Dawson unlocks his box and finds a blue flag in his piggy bank. "And we have our second member of the blue!" Greg called as Bradley finishes the course and searches the boxes.
"Okay ummmmm." Bradley tries one of the locks, only to be met with a no clicker.
Ursula and Brodie make it to the steps, "After you, Ursula." Brodie offered.
"Thanks." She clears the steps this time.
Brodie makes his next run at the steps as Zeeb makes his swim to the start of the course, Holden and Zeeb exchange glares as the conspiracy nut holds his key.
Maria tries the big balls before wiping out with a splits on the second ball. Ursula tries to run the ball, only to leer too far to the left and miss the platform. Karen on the other hand finishes the archway and looks over the glass boxes.
Bradley finds himself a lock for his key, he excitedly opens up the box and smashes the piggy bank inside and finds an orange flag.
"That's two members for the orange team!" Greg called. Karen then finds an orange flag after she opens a glass box and smashes a piggy bank. "Make that 3!"
Holden takes the rope and prepares to swing, Zeeb then gets an idea "OH NO ITS THE KILLER!" He screams and points deep in the forest.
"Wait WHAT?!??" Holden exclaims as he jumps, and ends up hitting the side of the landing platform as a result of getting distracted.
"MADE YOU LOOK!" Zeeb mocked Holden as he cleared the swing.
"Well that was pretty rude." Griff commented as he takes his swing.
"You alright man?" Post asks Holden as he swims back.
"I'm fine, just gonna rip that alien's throat out for that!" Holden called up to the rapper.
"Not very- oh never mind." Post then makes his swing.
Linka and Sydney then find keys and head to the course.
Zeeb makes it across big balls before stopping at the archway, as he did that Griff and Post used their tall frames to make long strides over the big balls before they made quick work of the archway. "Post and Griff, the veterans using their long reach to their advantage."
The two veterans finish the course as they look for their locks. Zeeb attempts the final obstacle. Behind him comes Maria who made quick work of the first three obstacles, before she tries the archway.
Rose then grabs the rope, "Okay, just gotta split the difference." She makes her third swing, counting the time in the air before she releases and lands on the apron. Nearly sliding off it, but luckily she digs her finger nails into the pads to keep herself out of the water.
Luckily for her, Brodie finishes the swing and goes to help her. "Need a hand?"
"I'm good- woah!" She nearly loses her grip, "Actually a little help here."
Brodie pulls Rose onto the platform, "Up we go."
"Woah!" Skarla then came barreling into the two before they're all dumped into the water. Linka then makes her first attempt at the steps and she gets through, she then hits the rope swing and nails the platform. Only to get dropped by the trapdoor and grab onto edge of the platform.
"Linka hanging on as we Post and Griff unlock their glass boxes!" Greg commentated as the veterans smashed opened their piggy banks.
"Got a flag!" Post called as he held up a blue flag.
Griff meanwhile was hit in the face with a glitter bomb. "You wanker!"
"Post joins the blue team, Griff needs to go find another key!" Greg called as Maria falls at the middle of the archway.
Zeeb then gets to the glass boxes, "Oh how will I find out which lock the key is for?!?!" He cried, "Wait, I got an idea! Why don't I just smash the glass box?" He raises his hammer at a glass box. And slams it down, only to be shaken by the recoil as the glass didn't even have a scratch.
Holden laughed at this as he attempted to swing, only to land hard on the edge of the platform and tumble right off.
Sydney finishes the course and comes with another key, she uses her watch to scan Zeeb's box for the molecular structure of the glass. She then shows her findings on a hologram, "As Sydney shows Zeeb, all the glass boxes have been made with polycarbonate panels that were reinforced." Greg explained, "You can thank our intern for that."
"Outstanding." Zeeb said as Sydney checked the box he tried to smash, which unlocked and Sydney grabbed the piggy bank to smash. Finding an orange flag, right after her Linka finds a blue flag in the first bank she checked.
"And Sydney and Linka have their flags, we are 4-4!" Greg called.
"Um, Sydney was it?" Zeeb asks the silent tech wizard, who nods "Uh would you..." she scans the key and searches for its match and points to it. "Thank you silent human!" Zeeb scampers as Sydney softly chuckles at him.
Zeeb unlocks his glass box, and his efforts were greeted with an orange flag.
"And Zeeb finds an orange flag!" Greg announced.
"VICTORY!" He joins his fellow orange flag holders.
Zeeb: The silent human and the Bradley have potential, their mechanical and animal knowledge will be fruitful in my plans to rule this backwater pebble.
Holden: How did he get accepted anyway? (Referring to Zeeb's previous confessional)
At the start, Skarla and Brodie took their turns to get back into the game. Brodie made quick work of the steps before swinging over the gap.
Skarla took her turn at the obstacles, Rose not far behind as she nailed the swing on her fourth attempt. Maria followed suit as she landed on the platform with a splits.
Brodie traversed the archway, with Skarla behind him falling off.
"Found one." Griff pulls out a key and hammer.
"It's a race to the finish!" Greg said as Rose climbed over Brodie to finish the course.
Rose then searched for the chests, checking their locks to see if the key works. "Come on." Rose jimmied the key until she her heard a click before she opens up the glass box and blindly grabs for the piggy bank which she smashes on the ground.
"And Rose with a blue flag, it's 5-5!" Greg called. Brodie finally finishes the archway and runs to the glass boxes. As he did that, Griff once again uses his long limbs to breeze past the obstacles, "And Griff making quick work of the course, he gets to the glass boxes!"
"Okay, let's see." Griff said as he and Brodie each try and lock, and they guess right as they grab their piggy banks and inside their flags.
"Griff for the blue team and Brodie for the orange, it still a tie game!" Greg called.
"Looks like we're all on the same team." Post said as he and the other veterans give a Kliq style 'Too Sweet'.
Dawson: With all the old guard on one team, they can easily outnumber us young bloods. But I'm not worried, I'll still show them that their time is up.
Behind him was Skarla, who was getting her energy back as Maria past her. She got halfway across the archway as Skarla began her climb. "I gotta get my stationary bike fixed." She groaned as she climbed the archway.
Maria finished the obstacle before she runs over to the glass boxes and looked through the locks, "It's down to four, Maria, Skarla, Holden, and Ursula. And it looks like Maria finds her lock!" Greg commentated as the jester unlocks her box and takes out the piggy bank.
"Such a smart little piggy, filled with common cents!" Maria punned before she finds a blue flag.
"And that joke brings us to 7 blue team members, to the Orange's 6." Greg calls.
Holden pants as he comes up to the first obstacle, "I'm tired..."
Skarla missed a knob and was just about to fall off... "WOOOAH!"

... only for Ursula catch Skarla with her legs around her waist. Skarla looked to see her savior, "Hey."
"Thanks Ursula!"
"How is she holding onto her while she's climbing?" Zeeb wondered.
"Pole dancing Thurman style requires an intense training program." Ursula said as she carried Skarla across the archway.
Lamont: Such Herculean strength in a fair but well toned body, she could prove wondrous for our clan.
Zeeb: Human earth women never cease to surprise me.
Brodie: She could snap me in half with those thighs! ...Because I'm so little.
Ursula sets Skarla down on the ground as Holden then books it across the course. "And our resident conspiracy theorist is in a race to finish as Ursula and Skarla search for their locks to their keys!" Greg called.
The Vegas goth and ice scientist check the remaining locks, Holden getting past the steps and the rope swing. He then hops across the balls before he then tries the archway.
Ursula checks her last lock, "Got it!" She tossed the padlock, at the same time Skarla finds the lock for her key.
"These could be the end of the challenge." Greg said.
Hearing this Holden takes a few swings, going for a Hail Mary lache. Ursula and Skarla grab their piggy banks and raise their hammers...

"We have our first complete team of the season!" Greg called, "The Orange team are our winners!"
The campers with orange flags all cheered as they joined the last two girls. With Bradley hugging his sister, "You did it Skarla! We're on the same team!" He beamed as Skarla chuckled as she pets his back.
Holden had landed on his face as the blue team all groaned at being deemed losers. Post patting Griffin and Zandy's shoulders "Chin up guys, it's only our first challenge."
"Indeed, next one. We crush their spirits." Dawson said as he crushed an invisible rock in his hand.
"A little excessive, but love the enthusiasm." Post said to Dawson.
"Alright guys, now that both teams are assembled." Greg said as Holden joined his new team, since he was the last player on the course he's automatically on the blue team. "Time for your team names, Blue team. Zandy, Dawson, Post, Linka, Rose, Griff, Maria, and Holden. You guys will be henceforth known as... the Blazing Bulls!"
A blue circle logo with a bull head snorting smoke appeared over the team.
"Sweet." Rose smirked at the name.
"And for our victors. Lamont, Bradley, Karen, Sydney, Zeeb, Brodie, Skarla, and Ursula." Greg turned to the orange team, "You guys will be known as... the Ominous Orangutans."
An orange circle logo appeared with an angry orangutan holding a knife appeared. Bradley and Skarla looking apprehensively at the logo, with Zeeb giddy at the name.
"Now that that's settled, Orangutans get ready to head to the camp bus. Counselor DJ will drive you to your much deserved dinner." Greg said as the orange team left to get freshened up. "The rest of you, you guys can go about your night until our next episode. Cast dismissed." The bulls then went to get dried up.
Greg then faced the camera, "How will our two teams fair going forward? Will Holden prove Zeeb is an alien? Can our veterans show this younger generation that they can still go? And who will be our first elimination of our comeback season? Find out on this season of...
Total.
Drama!
Diamond Lake!"
