This is my first fic for this fandom 3 I love Hikari though it's been a while since I've watched the anime so bare with me. I'm going to meddle to with the storyline in some of my stories or some will be based on my own imagination

Tsumugu stood up from where he was sitting when the screen was glowing. It was weird... Or maybe not weird, looking up from his screen, his eyes dart through the frozen water. Then... He freezes when a laying figure catches his eyes, though too dark to even realize who it is.

He calls for someone else to take over his work. He runs off into the cold, skipping through the stairs and darting his eyes through the area. Then he sees the figure... The closer he got the more he felt like he was being delusional.

"Hikari!" the name that went unsaid for the past 5 years slips his mouth and he kneels beside the unconscious figure. He craddles the unconscious boy, taking note of how pale his skin was and how unresponsive he was.

Realizing that Hikari was naked, he takes his coat off and uses it to cover his friend back then... Were they even friends? He didn't know.

"Tsumugu! Is he okay?!" Miuna exclaimed with a panicked tone. He pursed his lips as the girl sat beside the figure, she places a hand over Hikari's chest... She froze and her heart dropped all the way to her stomach.

"It's not... beating..."

She presses her fingers over his neck to where a pulse could be felt. She goes pale, her hand shook, "He's not breathing,"

Tsumugu sucked in a breath, his eyes going wide in disbelief. Miuna clenches her fists, "No... No, we... We have to make sure he lives... I want mom to see him again..." without a second thought, she gives him rescue breaths while the older boy sat and stared, praying it would return Hikari's beating heart.

"Please... If there are any gods out there... Please give him back," Tsumugu prayed.

Like their prayers were heard by the gods, the boy gasps. Miuna's eyes wide and teary in relief, she quickly turned to her companion who seemed to be relieved as well. "You did it..." Tsumugu mumbled in disbelief but with a relieved smile.

They watch the rise and fall of the other boy's chest, recovering from their surprise and joy, they remember to call Hikari's older sister about the situation, Tsumugu instructs Miuna to do that job as he slides an arm on the boy's back and the other under his knees and carefully lifting him off the ice.

Miuna slams the door open and a girl with a similar shade of purple hair rushes to greet them by the front door with an expression that seems to be of relief and worry. Her ocean eyes glistens at the sight of the one she misses dearly, "Oh my goodness... Hikari... My sweet little Hikari..." she choked, cupping her hands on her brother's cheeks.

"Akari-san, I'm sorry to ruin this reunion but we need to get him warm, his body feels way too cold... It's colder than what it should usually be," Tsumugu worriedly said, the older sister nods, ushering him to the bathroom and setting a pair of black hoodie and black joggers while Miuna fixed the extra room (now to be Hikari's room), placing the futon on the ground.

Finally having the unconscious boy tucked in, Akari kneels beside her brother, when her son runs to hug her arm and stare curiously at Hikari, she simply runs her fingers through her son's hair. Tsumugu and Miuna sat on the opposite side.

Miuna pursed her lips. While it's great that they've finally found one of their friends, either she or Tsumugu informs Chisaki and the others about this. Although... The thought of telling them now doesn't feel right to her.

She doesn't know why, but she knows it's what the other two are also thinking of. To not inform anyone else for now of finally finding him. But... Just to confirm her thoughts, she asks, her eyes not leaving the sleeping Hikari, "I assume... We're telling the others soon?"

"Yes... But not now," Tsumugu replies. Ah... Yes... Maybe it's also for them to process what just happened? Maybe... They don't know. They're judt following their gut filling. She eyes her mother to see if she agrees.

Akari shifts, "I agree... As much as it is important to inform them, we can't be too hasty about this... This is also for us to think of how we're going to explain this to other people,"

Miuna makes a sound of understanding, she looks again at her friend. She realizes he hasn't aged... Not even a bit... He hasn't grown... Not a single physical feature changed, now that she thinks about it. She misses those eyes.

Two days passes and there are no signs of Hikari waking up. He hasn't even moved nor made a sound, Miuna worries as she helps her mother prepare a small bucket of water. "Mom... I want to ask you something,"

"Yes?"

Miuna squeezes the towel and rests her wrists on the edge of the bucket. "Why isn't he still awake? It's been two days and yet..." her next words die in her throat unable to find the right terms, as they walked to Hikari's room, the woman replies with hint of worry in her eyes, "I don't know... For all I know, he should've been awake the day you found him..."

The black haired girl's throat tightens at the response, worry clawing at her chest. Different questions going around her head, maybe he'd never wake up again... Or maybe he refuses to leave the dream world... Or...

When they arrive back at the room, she grits her teeth at the sight of his still form and peaceful expression. He looks relaxed when he doesn't wear his usual frowny face. She hopes he wakes soon.

Chisaki now lived at an apartment on her own. For 5 whole years, she aged and she grew without her childhood friends by her side. She grew without hearing their voices nor seeing their smiles for 5 years.

She shuts her laptop off and lets her head fall back, facing the ceiling. She wonders what it would be like growing up with them if ever they have never fallen those boats... Palms rub her face in frustration, frustration for not being able to move on.

"It's okay, Chisaki... Just be patient and we'll finally reunite..." she blinks at the light, "...Right?" she groans and slaps her cheeks at her pessimistic brain.

She has to be positive. The purple haired girl sighs and takes a soak in the bathroom when she feels her skin a little dry, then gets out after about an hour.

The next day, Chisaki waits at the park where Tsumugu messaged her to meet him after classes. She blows onto her cold hands and puts her hands into her pockets to keep them warm.

"Chisaki, sorry to keep you waiting,"

She looks up from the ground to see her friend walking over with a small apologetic smile. She shook her head, "It's fine," she scoots over for the boy to sit beside her. They sit in silence for a minute, then Chisaki asks, "So... What did you call me here for?"

She was simply confused, yeah, the two would meet up here and there when both had free time, but to say that she gets called to meet up with her friend without an explanation was odd.

Tsumugu replies after a beat, "It's about your friend... Hikari," she hums, "What about Hikari?"

"Yesterday... Miuna and I found him unconscious on the frozen lake," Chisaki stills, eyes widening, then her head turning to the boy sitting beside her with an expression full of surprise.

"Yeah... He's alive,"

She's relieved. So relieved she could cry right there and now. She shifts her position, facing the other, "I... So... How is he?" she asks with a tone laced with urgency... Urgency to know where Hikari is and to see her friend once again.

Tsumugu inhales, facing her, "When we found him... He was unconscious, he's fine. We brought him to his older sister's house and he actually hasn't aged, physically by any means... But..."

Dread pools Chisaki's stomach and swears she could hear her heart beating.

"He hasn't woken up since then..."

"What do you mean since then?"

"He hasn't woken up for the past 2 days. He hasn't even made a single sound or moved for 2 whole days," Tsumugu replied carefully, trying not to make the girl angry for hiding it from her for the past 2 days.

He studies her expression and body language, Chisaki is just... Still... Seems like she was still processing what she just heard from the boy beside her. He relaxes a bit when she doesn't seem angry but worried.

"Can we visit?"

He smiles softly, "Yeah... I think he and Akari would like that," he says knowing his dear friend would still be unconscious when they get to the residence where he lays unmoving.

THAT'S IT FOR THE FIRST CHAPTER!
