The Prince Reborn
Chapter 1: Something New
The sun had dawned on the city of Osaka. The second most important city in Japan after Tokyo, Osaka had served as a crucial trading port for hundreds of years in the times of the shogunate, eventually becoming a hub of manufacturing in the early 20th Century and witnessing a few other historical events (among them, being heavily bombed out during World War II and where the first Shinkansen line opened up). Today, it's the town where it's restaurants attract foodies from all over the world and is the nation's amusement park destination.
Inside a house within the city, lied in bed a late teen aged bee with his pajamas on, around 18 to 19 years old with a bit of a messy room, yawning and groaning as he tried to get up. He looked a lot less fat, a fairly light skinned person without the big belly.
It was Charmy.
Charmy had moved to Japan from Mobius after he graduated high school as Charmy felt like restarting his life after an long time living and doing private investigator work with Vector and Espio. Now he was living alone, his files of paperwork from his time with the Chaotix sitting inside a container filled with every investigation they ever did inside the closet of his room. All memories of a better time.
He got out of bed eventually and later got, eat breakfast, getting dressed up and all in the stylish cool youth clothing in his favorite colors, orange and white (same as his shoes) brushing his teeth, getting his backpack and heading out the door locking it with keys behind him. As he walked to a train station heading for college, he passed by line of homeless people sleeping on the side of the street. They looked stressed out of their minds, sad and alone. The neighborhood Charmy lived in was called Nishinari (or Kamagasaki), the most infamous neighborhood of Osaka, and all of Japan. Sometimes, lots of bad things happen here. Charmy didn't like the place, but he had no other choices in the city as the rent was high around the other neighborhoods, and this one was cheap. After walking around the neighborhood, he entered a train station, and boarded inside the train joining the rush hour crowd. He got off the train at the eastern end of Chuo Ward after a few minutes of traveling. He left the train station, and entered his college. He headed towards his classroom, and there he greeted by his professor, who wasn't happy with his timing specifically.
"Charmy, you're late!" said the professor.
"I'm sorry, I promised I won't be agan." Charmy bowed down while he was standing to apologize to his professor.
"You better not be, or otherwise you'll be penalized. Now go and sit at your desk." responded the professor.
Charmy took off his backpack and sat down. He stayed inside the classroom for a few hours, switching to another classroom after that meeting numerous classmates along the way. Visual arts was his major, and he wanted to be a big time artist drawing all things pop culture (he had already been doing that since middle school).
The day flew by fast, and after he was done with classes, Charmy left college to go to his part time job downtown. More time passes, and gets his pay for the day by his boss as his shift ends. He then leaves his job and began the journey to home. But while he was going towards the train, he saw a poster that quickly caught his eye. On the said poster, it showed some fighters human and anthro and also read:
"MMA lessons, 2,000 yen a month."
Interested, Charmy took the train where the gym was, and he was able to meet the head coach there.
"Konnichiwa, sir." Charmy bowed down to meet him, the coach bowed down in return. "I saw a poster of your gym just across the city, and I felt interested in trying this out, see how this goes."
"That is good to hear. You'll have a pretty good experience participating in MMA." said the coach.
Charmy asked. "Mind I ask where do I sign up?"
"Right here. You can begin coming here starting tomorrow."
"Ah great! Let me get my pen out and sign." responded Charmy.
Charmy put his signature in and the coach responded after he picked up the paper and put it in his files: "Alright then, we'll see you tomorrow."
The two bowed as a sign of farewell.
Charmy walked towards the train station to head on home after that, with a smile on his face.
