"Say hi to Grandma and Grandda," Alexis told her children.
Waving to them, Castle said, "I don't think we need to ask if everything is going well," Castle commented to his wife.
"No," Alexis said firmly. "We're all good and these two are getting more settled during the day."
"They're taking naps for longer?" Castle asked.
"Luckily," Louis said with a nod. He then smiled and told his in-laws, "We wish we could tell you it's the same at night but we're not there yet."
"You'll get there," Beckett said, smiling herself.
"That dress came out amazing Mom," Alexis told her.
"You knew about it?" Castle asked, glancing at his wife briefly.
"I was at the house for how long?" Alexis responded with her own question.
"True," Castle said, realizing he had seen the fabric. "I thought it was for Eliza and Josie."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said. She then turned back to the two and asked, "What were you doing today?"
"Resting," Alexis and Louis said at the same. They looked at each other and started to laugh with her parents before they were calming down when Emmie was whimpering.
"It's alright," Alexis told her, kissing the side of her head. "We were just a little silly." She then looked at the screen of their TV and said, "We were actually just resting. Watching some movies when these two didn't need us."
"Is that it?" Castle asked when neither one continued.
"It is," Louis said. "We want to be well rested once we go back to work next month."
"We'll take care of them," Beckett told her oldest reassuringly, having caught the young woman's frown.
"I know," Alexis replied with a sigh. "I just don't like the idea of leaving them."
"No one does," Castle said. "But if you want we could bring them for lunch."
"No, it's going to be too cold," Alexis said, seeing her mother looking at him with a slight frown.
"She's right," Beckett said.
"Not even… okay, okay," Castle said, starting to protest before he realized they were right. "What about next year around March?"
Laughing with the others, Louis said, "That's when we were planning on taking them to the stables for the first time."
"I was going to ask about that," Beckett said with a smile.
"He wanted to bring them sooner, but I asked him to wait," Alexis said. "They are McColloughs, but the cold isn't a joke."
"And horses aren't as important as their health, I know, I know," Louis replied. "Still, I can't wait," he added brightly.
"What about you guys?" Alexis said.
"Wait, what about our grandchildren?" Castle asked in protest.
"There isn't much to tell," Louis replied.
Nodding in agreement with her husband, Alexis said, "He's right, they slept, nursed… we had to change their diapers. Though we are giving them a bath tonight."
"Fun," Castle said. "I mean that literally."
"We know Dad," Alexis said laughing. "So now we want to know what you did."
Explaining what they'd done at the Farmer's Market, Castle and Beckett ended at the point where they'd returned to the house before they looked at each other.
"What?" Alexis asked, catching that glance between them.
"We've been talking about the idea of coming here after Tahiti before we go back home," Castle said honestly.
"You don't want to go?" Louis guessed.
"Not really," Castle answered.
"It's not that we don't like being here alone, it's more we're used to being here with you guys," Beckett then said.
"I'm not surprised," Alexis said, seeing her husband nodding in agreement next to her out of the corner of her eye. She then said, "But you'll have to explain it to the girls… especially Lizzy."
"Why is she so eager for you to do that?" Louis asked.
"I think because we were here alone when we found the house," Castle commented.
"Probably," Beckett said in agreement since her husband was looking at her. She was squeezing his hand and then said, "We're going to call the others," not surprised when Alexis was responding to that with a smile.
"They said they were going to stay in all day," she told her parents.
"When did you talk to them?" Castle asked in slight surprise.
"After you talked to us yesterday," Louis explained. "We wanted to get in touch with them."
"You mean Julia and Eliza wanted to see the twins," Beckett stated with a smile.
"They texted us," Alexis explained. "And we had to talk to them of course."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said.
"We should let you go," Alexis said, looking at Finn in her husband's arms when he began to move.
"We're going to need to," Louis said, having noticed the same as his wife.
Saying goodbye quickly to their oldest and her family, Castle turned off the connection before he said, "Do you want to call them?"
"Yes, that way they have more time to play," Beckett said.
"Did you turn into me?" Castle asked her with a slight smile on his face.
"No, but I'm not about to make them wait that long to go through the games," Beckett replied. She stopped him when he was reaching for his phone, and she pulled him to her. Not surprised when he was moving easily to her, she wrapped her arms around his neck, and they were kissing tenderly. It didn't last long, and she was about to speak when her husband was kissing at her neck before she was stopping him. "Hold on," she said, having to take a moment to get control of herself. "We can't call them after that."
"Right after that," Castle stated instead of asking. When she nodded he said, "We don't have to wait too long do we?" When she smiled and shook her head he said, "I didn't want to keep them from playing either."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said before they were going to the armchairs. She was sitting just before he did and said, "We're not telling them about our decision right now."
"No way, I'd rather tell them in person," Castle said. "Though there is something about doing it through a TV screen that makes it easier."
"And lazy," Beckett commented with a smile on her face.
"That too," Castle replied, not surprised when she was laughing in response to his tone. "Was that enough time?" he asked her.
"I think so," Beckett said, touching her lips for a moment. Standing at the same time that he did, she said, "Do you want me to text my dad?"
"Sure, but the TV is ready," Castle said, nodding to the screen. He wasn't surprised when she didn't say anything and was getting her phone. When his father in law was answering shortly after he said, "They're waiting."
"They're not," Beckett said, glancing at him. "I'm sure they heard his alert."
"Most likely," Caste said after thinking about that for a moment. When she nodded to him after reading the text, he walked to the TV and turned it on before he went to stand with his wife.
"Hi Mommy, Daddy!" Eliza cried once she could see them.
"Hey, you're ready to talk to us? Isn't it a little early?" Castle asked them, looking at his watch though he knew the time already.
"Jules said you would probably call early," Eliza explained before she looked at her big sister before she was speaking swiftly and with a smile.
"I thought you might be somewhere," Julia said. "But you're at the house."
"We decided to stay in today," Castle said. "It's raining."
"It might snow today," Eliza said rapidly. She then frowned and looked out the window before she said, "Tonight."
"I'm not surprised," Castle said. "But you'll be fine, I saw already it was supposed to be just a light dusting," he added, unable to help laughing when Eliza was groaning in disappointment.
"I wanted to play in the snow more," the little girl said when she realized everyone was looking at her.
"It's gotten too hard?" Beckett asked her.
Nodding Eliza said, "It's crunchy."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said. "But I'm sure it'll snow soon."
"Hopefully not on Thanksgiving," Julia said, glancing at her mother and wondering at her reaction.
"I am too," Beckett said. She couldn't help smiling at her second oldest's obvious surprise and told her, "I want to go for a ride too, Alex will need it."
"So will Queenie," Julia said firmly.
"Before we start talking about horses," Martha said then. "Do you guys want to tell your parents what you were doing today?"
"Oh, right," Eliza said before she looked at her sister.
"Why do I have to say?" Julia asked laughingly.
"You don't," Castle said. When the girls were looking at him in surprise he said, "We thought you might stay in the pool room or game room."
"We decided on the game room," Julia said.
"And you're going to swim tomorrow?" Beckett asked.
"After dance class," Julia replied.
"You'll let us know if there's any competition next year," Beckett said.
"Sure but I don't think there will be," Julia said. "At least not yet. Maybe the Boston one but I don't know if we'll be going."
"Why don't you ask Ms. Grey," Castle suggested to her.
"I'll see. It's not even December yet," Julia answered. "But yeah, we stayed in the game room the whole day. Even Josa was playing," she said, adding the last in a rush before the toddler was giggling and speaking at the same time to their parents.
"Hi Mama, Dada," Josie said.
"Hey sweetie," Beckett replied. "You were playing with your sisters?"
Nodding rapidly the toddler then said, "I play on… pool," before Josie was looking at her sisters in a little confusion.
"We helped her play pool a little," Jim explained when all three of his granddaughters were looking at him.
"First she made us," Eliza explained before she was glancing at her big sister at the slight hiss she was making
"She didn't really make us," Julia was quick to say. "But she just wanted to play."
"So you're trying to say she didn't throw a tantrum," Castle commented. He wasn't surprised when Julia was nodding rapidly and said, "Okay, and we don't mind as long as she's not playing on her own," smiling when the two were giggling at the thought. "Don't do that," he told Josie when she looked at her sisters and began laughing herself.
"There isn't anything else from today?" Beckett asked.
"Not really," Eliza said, looking at her big sister.
"Unless you want to know about lunch," Julia said. "And what we're going to have for dinner."
"That's okay," Castle said first. "But tomorrow when we call you better have more to tell us."
Doing her best to calm down after laughing with her sister, Julia said, "We will, there is school and everything."
"And dance class," Beckett told her.
"And that, I'll tell you about it don't worry," Julia said swiftly. She smiled when her parents were laughing and said, "So… what about you and Dad?"
Explaining together what they'd done until they'd returned home with his wife Castle then asked, "Did you three know about this dress?"
"We all did," Jim said before his granddaughters could respond.
"And I was making it right in front of you Richard," Martha couldn't help saying in obvious amusement.
"I heard," Castle said in mock annoyance. "But to be honest I thought it was for the girls."
"Thank you again Martha," Beckett told her mother in law.
"You're welcome, turn around and let me make sure the seams are alright in the back," Martha replied. When her daughter in law did slowly she couldn't help smiling at the way her son was outright ogling his wife. When Beckett was looking at them again she said, "Good, everything turned out perfectly."
"It did," Beckett said with a nod, smoothing her hands over her skirt.
"What're you going to do now?" Eliza asked her parents.
"We're not sure," Castle said. "It's still raining so we might watch a movie or something."
"That's it?" Eliza said in slight disappointment.
"We're going back to the city tomorrow and Tuesday," Beckett said gently. "It's not really going to rain until after our flight on Wednesday."
"And since you're all caught up now," Castle said, seeing his wife nodding briefly to him. "We better get going so you can focus on dinner."
"I made a stew," Jim said when his daughter and son in law were looking at him and Martha. "And we're giving them money for lunch but just tomorrow. I'm making some sandwiches and soup for dinner tomorrow; they'll have leftovers."
"We trust you two to take care of them," Castle said, smiling when his wife was laughing softly.
"He's right," Beckett said when she had calmed down. "And we're sure they'll listen to you." She wasn't surprised the girls were saying they would before they were telling her and Castle they loved them and goodnight. When the screen was black she turned to her husband and said, "I hope you won't… be mad at what I'm going to suggest right now."
"That we hold off on making love?" Castle asked. When his wife nodded he said, "I was going to say the same." He wasn't surprised when she was looking at him with a frown and said, "Seriously. But what would you want to do instead?"
Beckett said, "I thought about playing some games but not the board games… or exclusively that," relieved when he nodded since she had thought her wording was off.
"I can head out to the garage to grab the more reasonable outdoor games," Castle said before he hesitated.
"What?" Beckett asked in surprise.
"Do you remember what we used to do when it rained sometimes?" Castle asked.
Smiling, Beckett said, "Of course I do. You want to do that now?" When her husband then looked over her body she said, "I was going to change anyways, I feel weird being naked underneath while we play with their games."
"I'll meet you in the lean-to?" Castle asked. After she had nodded he moved to walk to the dining room so he could go out of the house.
Watching him go, Beckett headed up to their room once he was in the kitchen and she took off her dress before she was pulling on her clothes she had put on the bed. Once she had her hair pulled back in a ponytail she went downstairs and walked to the lean-to in time to meet her husband walking in. "Are you that wet?" she asked him.
"Luckily no," Castle said, standing on the top step and shaking out the umbrella he'd used. "And we never talked about what to play."
"I think picking the ones that can be played inside safely will work," Beckett replied, smiling while she was checking on the giant Connect Four he'd brought. Feeling it was only slightly wet she said, "I'll grab a towel."
Nodding, Castle was checking the other games he'd brought in and said, "They didn't get that wet."
"Here, dry the box you brought," Beckett said.
"I hope they won't mind us playing this one," Castle said since he'd brought their newest purchase inside.
"We have it in the Hamptons," Beckett said firmly.
Nodding, Castle put down the dry box of the giant Clue game and said, "I was almost going to bring in the Candyland one," not surprised when she was laughing in response.
"That would have been fun," Beckett said once she had calmed down.
"Are you serious?" Castle asked, obviously startled. At the nod she gave him he grabbed the umbrella and hurried out before he was tucking the box under his arm and rushing back. "I didn't think you'd want to," he admitted to her.
Shrugging Beckett asked, "Why do we have to have the girls around to play?"
"I'm rubbing off on you," Castle said before he frowned. "I didn't mean to do that."
"Obviously not," Beckett said before she leaned into him and kissed him gently. When they parted she said, "There is later tonight."
Nodding, Castle kissed her, unable to help doing so deeply before he said, "I wouldn't be able to resist you in that dress again," a little startled at her immediate response.
"Who said I'm planning to wear it again today?" Beckett asked him, one eyebrow raised.
"I was hoping," Castle said in a rush.
"I'm wearing something for dinner," Beckett said simply. "For now let's play Candyland first before I decide we should just play it with the kids."
"You forgot the other thing I wanted to do," Castle said.
Smiling, Beckett leaned into him and kissed him tenderly before she said, "I almost did."
Turning to the bubbles they had for kids there, Castle and Beckett began blowing them out into the rain which they'd done in their past life with the handmade bubble wands. Once they'd finished they were heading to the living room with the games to spend the rest of the afternoon while it continued to rain outside.
Hearing the sound of his wife coming down the stairs, Castle moved from the dining room to the living room to find her stepping away from them. "You brought that one?" he couldn't help asking.
"Does that mean you want me to change?" Beckett asked him.
"No," Castle said immediately. "I wasn't expecting it," he explained. "But believe me I do appreciate it." As he'd been speaking he'd been walking over to her and once he'd reached her he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I hope you realize I probably won't be wearing something like this for a while," Beckett commented.
"I had a feeling," Castle commented, unable to help smiling at her. "Am I that transparent?"
"A little," Beckett said. "But I have another outfit in mind for Thanksgiving."
"Fair enough," Castle said. "Hungry?"
"Very," Beckett said before they started to walk over to the dining room. She wasn't surprised when her husband was looking at the skirt of her cerulean blue dress and she nudged his side before she went into the room first. "Are you serving me?" she asked him noticing the table had their cutlery but there were no plates.
"Yes, I have one thing finishing up," Castle said. "And I need to plate everything. I'll be right back."
Watching him go, since she hadn't let him seat her, Beckett was moving to the doorway of the kitchen. When he was glancing at her she told him, "You really thought I'd stay here?"
"No," Castle said. "But I hope I surprise you a little," he added.
"You will," Beckett said before she saw he was finishing. She turned back to the room and sat down next to the head of the table before telling him, "Do you want me to close my eyes."
"I don't want to surprise you that much," Castle said, walking into the room. He paused and then said, "I should have done that with your birthday gifts."
Rolling her eyes, Beckett said when he put a plate in front of her, "I'm glad you didn't." She looked at the food and said, "You did a great job."
"Thank you," Castle replied, getting the open bottle of wine on the credenza that had been decanting since he'd begun cooking. Pouring it out for them he said, "I hope it'll taste good too."
"Are you fishing for a complement?" Beckett asked with a smile. She was startled when her husband was hesitating for a moment and grew serious before he was explaining what he wanted.
"I just wanted to make sure it came out, I haven't used this wok as much as the one at home," Castle said.
Squeezing his hand Beckett said, "It will."
"You're that sure already?" Castle said in amusement, picking up his chopsticks.
"I'm very sure," Beckett replied, smiling herself. She picked up some of the meat and rice he'd made together and ate it. Squeezing her husband's hand again she said, "It's good."
"I know," Castle said, smiling when she was rolling her eyes. After she was eating again he said, "Do you want to play anything after dinner?"
"No," Beckett said immediately.
"No," Castle echoed slowly.
"I'd like to eat dessert and listen to music," Beckett said, smiling when her husband was obviously shifting and straightening up. "You don't want to?"
"Oh I do," Castle said firmly.
A little startled when her husband didn't say anything after that, Beckett was about to speak but hesitated before she nodded and went back to her food. While they were eating she looked up at the windows across from her side of the table when some rain was blown against it. "I hope your weather forecasting was right," she teased her husband.
"I'm not forecasting," Castle replied. He then said, "But they are saying this will finish by the time we get up in the morning… or just before that."
"I do want to be up by nine," Beckett told him.
Inclining his head slowly Castle said, "Alright."
"If you want to protest you can tell me," Beckett said laughingly.
"No, I was just thinking that you were right," Castle replied swiftly. "But…" He trailed off when she was gently cupping his cheek and he said, "I'm glad you agree."
Smiling, Beckett wrapped her arm around his neck, and he was leaning into her before they were kissing tenderly. Once they slowly parted she told him, "Do you want anything special?"
"Wait," Castle said immediately. "Didn't you win when we played air hockey last night?"
"I did," Beckett said. "And what I'm asking for tonight is my prize." When he opened his mouth to speak she was gently rubbing her foot against his leg, and he was coughing briefly before she pushed his wine glass towards him.
"Thank you," Castle breathed before he was drinking. "If you're going to do that warn me."
"You weren't eating," Beckett said firmly.
"Still," Castle said. "And so you know I'm happy to give you that prize."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said. "Thank you for thinking of the bubbles."
Smiling immediately Castle said, "We never grew up in that life," he said. "Which is really weird since we went through the earthquake."
"I think it's because we had to grow up that fast with the earthquake," Beckett said. "And my parents urged us to be kids once we were back to normal," she added, smiling when he was responding quickly.
"I remember," Castle said. "Especially me."
"Well, it makes sense," Beckett replied. "Since you went through a lot more than the three of us did." She watched her husband take her hand before he kissed at the back of it and said, "Hurry."
Going back to his food, Castle was eating for a while as she was before he said, "Do you want fruit at all?"
"We should," Beckett replied with a smile. "Though we should have the figs."
"I was just thinking that but who's going to peel them?" Castle asked.
"Why are you asking?" Beckett replied with an exaggerated sigh. "I know you're the better out of the two of us."
"Thank you," Castle said.
"And I know you like to show off," Beckett teased him. She wasn't surprised when he pretended to look upset before she was gently rubbing her foot down his leg before she was at his foot.
"Kate," Castle said a little hoarsely.
"I'm finished," Beckett replied. When her husband suddenly pushed back his chair and stood she said, "You don't mind?"
"No, but that might be too much before we do what you wanted to," Castle explained. He was going to take her plate when she was stopping him, and he was about to speak when she was getting it after she had stood up. He walked into the kitchen with her following and then said, "What do you think of having them right now?"
"After we clean up," Beckett replied.
"Your dress-" Castle started to say before she was interrupting him.
"I'll dry," Beckett said. She smiled when he was hurriedly taking off his blazer before she said, "You don't need to put that back on."
"I had a feeling," Castle said, watching her unbuttoning his cuffs before he could. "Luckily it's just the two of us so it's not that much."
"And you washed almost everything you used to cook," Beckett commented wryly.
"That way you wouldn't see everything there was," Castle said firmly. When she had finished he was rolling up his sleeves, seeing her staring at him while he did so before she was speaking with a slight smile on her face.
"I appreciate it, but I don't mind you had to use so much," Beckett replied. "I'll have to on Tuesday." When he turned to her from the sink she said swiftly, "You're not helping me wash those dishes."
"I had a feeling you'd say that," Castle replied easily. "And that I shouldn't try to protest."
Beckett smiled and told him, "I'm glad you realized," continuing to smile while he laughed. She was drying off what he handed her, and it didn't take long before they were finishing and she dried her hands as she said, "Now we can have those figs."
"And I get to show off," Castle told her with a smile. He wasn't surprised when she rolled her eyes, and he got the bowl he'd put the figs in and a knife before following his wife to the living room.
"Do you mind if I put on the music now?" Beckett asked him. When her husband shook his head no she went to the Victrola and looked through their records before she found one and put it on.
Looking up from where he was peeling the first fig, Castle smiled and said, "I had a feeling it'd be that one."
"That specific one?" Beckett asked him teasingly as she moved to sit next to him.
"You always did like Bing Crosby," Castle teased her back before she was leaning into him. They shared a brief kiss, and he told her, "Don't make me forget the knife."
"You wouldn't," Beckett said simply before she smiled and leaned back against the couch. "I'm glad you didn't mind how much I enjoyed his music."
"I was aware it was just his music, though you did tease me when he was on TV… and when we went to see White Christmas," Castle responded, handing her the first fig.
"I needed to didn't I?" Beckett replied. She took a bite before she paused and eventually said, "You know I remember I teased you more about liking him because of his eyes."
"I remember," Castle said with a nod before he was peeling his fig. They ate in silence for a little before he said, "You didn't want to play Coltrane?"
"No," Beckett said firmly. "Since we're here I'd like to listen to what we have."
"Can I make some coffee?" Castle then asked, handing her a fig.
Beckett couldn't help laughing before she said, "I was going to insist you did."
"And dessert?" Castle asked.
"That would be nice but let's wait until we dance for a little," Beckett said, watching him getting his last fig.
"I'm game," Castle said easily, putting down his knife. He was soon beginning to eat and while he did so he watched his wife. When she was finishing he watched her taking the bowl and said, "I hope I impressed you."
"Don't fish," Beckett said teasingly before she walked into the dining room.
Looking at the record player when he was alone, Castle got up and then went over to it so he could move the needle. "I know," he said, hearing his wife walking back inside the room. "But I wanted to play this song."
Smiling at the slower song Beckett commented, "You realize most of them on this record are slow."
"Sure, but this one is perfect," Castle said, holding his hand out to her. He half expected her to tell him that they'd dance to every song on the album and when she didn't he fought the urge to comment. She was stepping up to him, so he took the distraction gladly before they were swaying together. Holding her close he said, "Although I might be talking about the position."
Unable to help laughing softly, Beckett told him, "Position?"
"What else am I supposed to call it?" Castle asked while he pulled away a little to look at her. He was going to tease her when she shook her head, and he was pulling her closer as she leaned against him. They were dancing until the song ended and he asked, "Keep going?"
"A little more," Beckett replied with a smile. While they were doing so she could feel her husband was rubbing at her back and she moved to press her cheek to his before they were soon stopping when the second song ended.
"Coffee?" Castle asked her.
"That would be nice," Beckett said. She then grabbed his arm before he could move towards the dining room after letting her go and told him, "Let me change the record and I'll go with you."
"You know what?" Castle asked, about to nod before he stopped himself. "Let me do that."
Smiling, Beckett said, "Sinatra?"
"No," Castle said firmly before he was taking off the record and putting it away in its sleeve. He looked through their collection before he was nodding at one and put it on before playing it.
"Nice," Beckett told him with a smile when Nat King Cole began to sing. She then took his hand he was holding out to her when he reached her, and they walked together to the kitchen. She sat on the edge of the banquet around the kitchen table and said, "Are you okay with our plans now?"
"I am, I'd rather have everyone here with us next time we're here," Castle replied. He then said, "I mean we can do this on our own even if they're here."
"True, but we likely won't," Beckett said.
"What about our records?" Castle asked suddenly when the idea abruptly came to him.
"Records?" Beckett repeated in surprise and slight confusion.
"Sorry, what about taking some of our records with us to listen to at home?" Castle corrected himself. "We can always bring them back next time we're here."
"I think we should leave them," Beckett replied firmly. She smiled briefly when her husband looked disappointed and told him, "Some of them are collectors items remember."
"I know, the Bing Crosby one alone…" Castle said with a smile for her so she wouldn't think he was upset.
"And the Bessie Smith singles," Beckett said.
"Ma Rainey's too," Castle commented. He paused and then said, "We can keep those right?"
"Why wouldn't we be able to?" Beckett asked with a frown.
"They're not super rare?" Castle replied with his own question.
"I don't think so," Beckett said. "You could have someone look into that." She wasn't surprised to see his hesitation and said, "I don't blame you for not wanting to though."
"I really don't want to, they hold a lot of memories," Castle said, pleased when she was nodding in agreement. He then turned his attention back to the coffee since it was finishing and he was racing to finish it off before he and his wife were heading back to the living room. "Oh," he said, pausing and looking over at the dining room. "I forgot about the dessert."
"You don't-" Beckett started to say before her husband was interrupting her.
"I'll get it right now," Castle said. "The mini-tarts."
"I just want one," Beckett called, watching him racing through the dining room. She couldn't help smiling at how fast her husband was going and she turned to sit on the couch to wait for him. She was about to ask him if he'd only gotten one too while he reentered the room when he was speaking swiftly to her.
"I just got one but that was a difficult decision," Castle said, setting the plate he'd put the two on in front of her. Sitting with her he then said, "They look very delicious."
Her husband was sliding his hand over her knee then and Beckett had to take a moment to speak before she said, "Are you talking about the dessert?"
"I am," Castle said slowly though he was gazing at her. He was a little surprised when she leaned into him and he was quick to move, capturing her lips with his. He wasn't sure how long they were kissing, only that he had pulled her on his lap. Once they were apart from each other and he could speak he told her, "We're not going to stay for much longer."
"No," Beckett replied with a smile. She brushed her lips to his and told him, "We should eat our dessert."
"I'll get it," Castle said, keeping her from getting off him. He grabbed the plate and handed it to her before he said, "I would feed it to you, but I get the feeling you wouldn't want me to."
"I would but we'd have to control ourselves," Beckett said teasingly.
"So it would just be one sided?" Castle asked. "My side."
"No," Beckett replied before she picked up one of the tarts and bit into it. As she was chewing she glanced at her husband when he was trailing his index finger down her neck. "Rick," she said once she had swallowed.
"What?" Castle asked.
"Eat," Beckett said before she was getting off his lap.
"Don't-" Castle started to say.
"I'm not spilling my coffee on my dress," Beckett told him with a smile.
"I would have been careful," Castle said firmly. He wasn't surprised when she was taking a sip, glancing at him, and was forcing himself to get his tart. They ate and drank in silence before he was finishing first and standing up, walking to the record player.
"I'll take-" Beckett started to say before her husband was taking her hand and pulling her up. "The plates-" she started to say.
"Leave them," Castle replied. "I'll wash everything I promise." When she was nodding he was pulling her over to the stairs before he urged her to go up first. She was going rapidly, and he felt his heartbeat speeding up a little more before they had finally made it up to their room. He closed the door behind them and his wife was waiting for him when he turned to her. Gathering her in his arms they were kissing hungrily before they were running their hands around each other roughly.
Feeling her husband grasping at her ass tightly, Beckett cried out and ended the kiss before she was making him let go of her. "Come on," she told him, leading him over to the bed. When they were close she was gasping slightly at her husband gently grabbing her before he was murmuring into her ear.
"Take your hair down for me love," Castle said, gently nibbling at the back of her lobe. He had to force himself to let her go before she turned to him and was undoing the bun her hair had been up in. He couldn't help himself and reached out to gently caress her locks when she put them over her shoulder. "You're stunning Kate," he told her once she had finished.
"Hurry," Beckett told him after she had brushed her lips to his. She wasn't surprised when he was following her easily and they were undressing each other without stopping before he was helping her lay back on the bed. "Rick," she breathed when he moved to lay on her. They were kissing gently once he had leaned into her and they were tangling their tongues together before she watched him pulling away before he spoke huskily, sending a thrill racing through her body.
"Let me take care of you love," Castle said. When his wife was nodding a little jerkily he leaned into her and kissed her deeply though he didn't let that last for very long. After he'd pulled away he bowed his head to her breasts and was gently brushing his lips to them before he took her right nipple in between his lips. Suckling at it lightly he was rubbing his tongue to the nub, enjoying the fact that it was as hard as it was. When her fingers slid through his hair he was shaking, pulling away from her chest before he said, "Are you ready?"
"Yes," Beckett said firmly though she was parting her legs a little further as he reached down to her. While he was rubbing at her clit she gasped and reached for his arms, holding onto them tightly. "I don't need… that much," she gasped, arching her back when his fingers slid down to her entrance. He was rubbing around her and then moved to slip his first two inside of her, making her cry out and call to him before he was pulling away carefully. She opened her eyes and watched as he was moving his hand to his mouth. "Love," she said in a whisper, looking on while he was sucking his fingers for a moment.
"Help me now," Castle said before he was letting out a hard gasp when she was cupping underneath his member. "I'm going to come if you do that," he said, pulling away her hand.
"You can do that, but I can't?" Beckett replied immediately. She wasn't surprised to see him thinking that over and then hesitating before he let her go. She moved to very gently curl her hand around him before she said, "I won't do this for long."
"Great," Castle breathed heavily when she began gently stroking at him. After she let him go he was about to lean into her and kiss her before he froze at her fingering the tip of him. Watching her sucking at her fingertips he said, "I have to start now love, I'm going to come all over you if I don't." He paused and then said to her, "Unless you want me to."
"I don't," Beckett replied, unable to help smiling briefly before she was pulling him to her. It took little time before he was sinking inside of her, and she was crying out in joy at the sensation since he was rigid. As soon as he was sheathed within her fully she ran her hands over his back and told him, "Don't stop okay?"
"I won't," Castle told her firmly though his voice wavered a little at the end. He tried to ignore that and once she had the sides of her feet pressed against the outside of his legs he proceeded to thrust. Watching her beneath him since he was above her on his hands, he reveled in the pleasure that fluttered across her face before she was obviously bracing herself until he was changing his position. When he had angled his hips down a little more he found he was pressing against her clit and he looked on while she reacted.
"Oh! Rick don't… stop!" Beckett cried in joy, losing her rhythm with him before he was making her stop. "I just-" she started to say before she was cutting herself off when he was moving his hips around. "Oh… you didn't have to do that," she moaned since he was rubbing around her sex instead of just straight in and out.
"Oh no, I need to," Castle said firmly before he was slowly thrusting inside of her again. After he had done that for a little he began to speed up but only a few times before he went slow, watching his wife closely when she was almost whimpering before she began to speak.
"Are you… going to do that the whole time?" Beckett managed to ask.
"Yes," Castle said firmly before he was kissing her. Doing so hard he was pleased when she was responding eagerly, and they continued until they slowly pulled away.
"You're not…" Beckett started to say, thinking he was going to stop since he'd begun slowing down. But he was swiftly thrusting again and she was trying to meet him in his movements though it was becoming more and more difficult since he was ramming into her. Feeling him slapping her hips with his, she moved her hands so she could clutch at his back and was doing so tightly before he was slowing down again. "Please love, I'm going to come," she told him.
"Right now?" Castle asked, doing his best to go even slower. When she nodded instead of speaking, he was speeding up again, which they did for some time before he could tell she was close. Feeling her twisting underneath him he wasn't varying his thrusts, doing so as hard as he could until she was breaking underneath him and calling his name.
Her ecstasy racing through her, Beckett was digging her nails into her husband's back and writhing in abandon underneath him. Though her desire was soon sated, she let herself take in the sensation of her husband's thrusts against her before he was stilling after a hard final thrust. Caressing at his hair she told him, "We're not stopping."
Letting out a groan, Castle raised his head and said, "I'm glad you agree with me." When she laughed he was groaning again and said, "Maybe we should rest a little."
"A little," Beckett said, letting him go when he was pulling away from her. She sighed when he withdrew and watched him moving to her side before she told him, "I'd like to take a bath with you."
"Now?" Castle said in slight surprise.
"Later," Beckett responded easily, smiling when her husband's eyes literally darkened in front of her before he was gathering her in his arms. She thought he might kiss her, but instead he was reaching up to brush her hair away from her ear before he leaned down to murmur into it.
"You're a vixen you know," Castle told her, feeling his wife shivering slightly in response. When he pulled back from her after kissing at her ear lobe he gazed into her eyes before he told her, "You were serious?"
"You couldn't tell?" Beckett replied before he was kissing her. She was quick to wrap her arms around him before they were moving together, and he slid inside of her slowly. Gasping at the sensation, she was grasping desperately at his back before she told him, "Fuck me Rick." She wasn't surprised when he was brushing his lips to her in response before beginning to move, and she was doing her best to do the same though it was difficult since her legs were wrapped around him tightly. Luckily he pushed her to her orgasm swiftly and she was able to forget her pace matching his while she was crying out his name, doing her best to withstand the ecstasy as it roared through her body. Arching her back hard, she was raking her nails over Castle's back, feeling his release inside of her. She was tempted by a second orgasm, but her body calmed down before that could happen and she held her husband until he was still above her.
"Kate?" Castle asked eventually when he felt he could speak.
"Hmm?" Beckett replied. She sighed when he withdrew from her carefully and was quick to move against his side.
"Can I ask you something?" Castle said. He then squeezed her arm and said, "Don't say I already have."
"You know me too well," Beckett said teasingly. She then moved to drape her arm across his chest and said, "Ask me."
"All this isn't too much for you?" Castle said. When his wife looked at him he said, "You were in love-less relationships when I met you and-"
Squeezing his arm to stop him, Beckett said, "I got what you mean." She then moved to lay on her back and looking at the ceiling said, "To be honest the only time I was overwhelmed a little was when you proposed to me," glancing at her husband when she felt him tensing against her.
"Is that a good thing or bad?" Castle asked carefully.
"Good, I had to get used to the fact that I was going to be a wife eventually," Beckett said. "Being single for most of my life I had to adjust to that realization… but it didn't take me that long."
"Oh good, I would have been really worried if you said it did," Castle said. He'd been looking up at the ceiling at that moment, but when his wife was pressing against him again he was looking down at her and asked, "Are you mad?"
"No," Beckett said, unable to keep herself from speaking a little laughingly. "But I was more than ready to marry you."
"And?" Castle asked. When his wife glanced up at him he said, "When was that?"
"The day after Christmas," Beckett replied, smiling when her husband was doing so widely.
"I'm glad I asked to find that out," Castle said, startled when she was laughing briefly.
"Sorry, I was just thinking that we've been married for eight years and now you're asking me," Beckett told him.
"Almost nine years," Castle said.
Rolling her eyes, though she was smiling at the same time, Beckett said, "Fine, it's a surprise you're asking me now."
"What better time than now?" Castle asked her. He wasn't surprised when she rolled her eyes again and he then told her, "But I am glad to know it wasn't too much for you. The idea of being married to me."
"I wouldn't have said yes to your proposal," Beckett told him firmly. "I would have asked if I could have some time."
"Then why did it take to until the next day-" Castle started to say before she was pressing her fingertips to his lips.
"To realize what would happen then we were married," Beckett said firmly. "We were a little busy when we went to bed."
Taking her hand off of him gently, Castle pressed a kiss to her fingertips before he told her, "And that didn't fill you with horror being married to me?"
"Oh no, I was ready," Beckett said before she was smiling and slipping her hand from his. "For that horror."
"Hey," Castle said in protest, not surprised when she was laughing. He pulled her a little more to him and they were kissing gently before they parted and he said, "At least that's reassuring," while she was pressing closer against his side.
"It should be," Beckett replied. "And what about you? Your third marriage didn't fill you with fear?"
"Oh no, I knew it was going to be different," Castle said before she had fully finished speaking. "And I was right," he said, his voice slowing a little as he turned her onto her back and followed her.
"You love being right," Beckett teased him.
"You too," Castle replied before he was leaning into her and kissing her sensuously. They were doing that for a while before they needed to breathe and when they'd parted he pressed his forehead to hers and said, "I love you Kate."
"I love you too," Beckett replied with a smile. She took her husband's kiss before pulling him further on top of her and she told him, "Now show me."
"Goddess," Castle said, knowing what that request was.
"Sheik," Beckett told him firmly before he was beginning to enter her with her eager help.
Making love again, Castle and Beckett didn't worry about their plans for the next day since they would find that they couldn't really stop themselves. Instead they focused more on how many times they could bring each other to their shared ecstasy until exhaustion from their satiation inevitably took over.
