Major Edit 3/11/2024: So I had been sitting on this story for a while. This chapter was done late January, but I wanted to edit it and maybe change somethings before posting. However, I want to put this out now due to the recent news.
For those who don't know, Dragonball creator and one of the GOATs of Shonen, Akira Toriyama passed away. I don't want to go too much into my own thoughts and feelings, as I could write an entire essay, but Dragonball Z specifically is a major part of my childhood, my upbringing, and my relationships with several people in my life. One of the very first characters I ever attempted to draw was Gohan when he went Super Saiyan 2.
I'm thoroughly heartbroken at the loss of such a legend and integral part to my childhood. I hope that I can show my son what inspired me to essentially love anime in the future with his work.
I hope everyone can appreciate Toriyama-sama's legacy, regardless of if they agreed with all of his work or not.
Welp, said I was going to do it. Just didn't realize my mind would constantly bug me about it. Didn't help that one of my partners constantly hounded me about starting this one. So, here it is! My DBZ/Super/Beyond story!
Just like with my other stories, I'm going to give fair warnings and such, so you don't go into it completely blind and end up reading something you don't want to after a while. I hate when authors do that so I won't do it to you.
This is going to be Gohan and Videl-centric. I'm going to be changing a LOT of the history and workings of the DBZ/Super world to fit my goals for this. Some of these major changes will be listed below.
1st Chi-Chi is going to be almost COMPLETELY different. She will actually be a Z-fighter in this. Her father, the Ox King, was trained by Master Roshi. Chi-Chi herself was a martial artist. It irritates me that shonen shows don't know how to write female characters so they 180'd her personality into an annoying, nagging, stay at home mom. Why marry someone like Goku and then essentially become exasperated by the same antics you fell in love with? So she will be training alongside her husband like I thought she should've anyway.
2nd This means Gohan is going to be brought up in a family that actually puts martial arts above academics, though I'm not completely cutting that out of the story. As such, though, that means that Gohan is going to enjoy fighting unlike his canon counterpart. I don't think Gohan hated fighting just because he was part human. I think he hated fighting because Chi-Chi constantly dissuaded him from it, and everytime he had to fight as a child was because of life and death situations. He never got to experience an adventure or training just for fun like his father and Krillin did in DragonBall. If all he had to relate to fighting was painful memories, then it's clear that he would end up hating to fight.
3rd The humans will be able to get MUCH stronger than canon. Another thing I hate is having good characters, or side characters, simply become useless and get left in the dust. In this regard, I'm going to come up with abilities and transformations for the humans that are similar but not equivalent to the Saiyans zenkai and super saiyan transformations.
4th Videl is actually going to be half-saiyan in this story. Now before you start calling me a dumb bitch in your head, just hear me out! I know this is a major change from canon, but I want to avoid the whole 'z-cells' bull that people came up with after she helped with turning Goku into a Super Saiyan God. So instead, I'll just make her half saiyan. The details are in this first chapter.
5th I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good...sorry. You know I'm a shipping girl, and the 7 seas are crowded! Major pairing will actually be Videl/Gohan/18/Zangya (which you'll probably see under the pairing tag anyway). I honestly enjoy Gohan/18 stories, a bit more than Gohan/Videl stories, though I adore Videl. People just tend to write 18 less...useless. I also just recently (like 2 years ago at this point) read a story that made me love Zangya, despite her being a bland potato in movie canon. So, me being the poly bitch that I am, I'mma do em all! As for Krillin...I've got a few ideas. If you really want to know, just ask and I'll pm you my idea. Trunks and Mai will definitely be a thing because I love them, fight me. I even have something planned for Goten…When this makes it to Super, I'll be doing a Cabba/Kale/Caulifla pairing. Cabba's cute and deserves better.
6th Mentioning Zangya of course means that some of the movies will be made canon here. Maybe not all of them because I'm not the best when it comes to the DBZ timeline, but I'll do my best with what I have.
7th This may be the biggest turn off maybe, but this will be partially based on Dragon Ball Z abridged. I understand that type of humor can be jarring with how serious some moments can get too. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to do it without compromising tension and drama, but I want to try. Please bare with me on that.
I don't know what else to say just yet, but edit notes are like my life blood so those'll pop up. Other than that, if you have any questions or concerns, ask away! If not, enjoy the story!
Chapter 1: Fasha's Lament
The ringing in her ears was the first thing she experienced as she started to wake up. When her eyes began to open, all she saw was a blur of colors. It caused a massive headache and she snapped her eyes shut. For a few seconds, she just focused on the ringing, hoping it would dull her senses and calm her headache.
'What...happened…' Her thoughts broke through her headache. It dulled enough to only be a nuisance, but still strong enough to make an answer elude her.
Soon, her senses started coming back and she could feel a pressure on her. After a few more seconds of calming down, she noticed the fact that she had no energy. Instead, she opened her eyes one last time to see where she was.
'This planet...we were here to conquer it...Planet Meat…'
Her eyes darted around until she finally noticed the pressure that was on her. Her eyes widened as she took in the bodies of Shugesh and Borgos on top of her, with Taro laying off to the side. Their corpses made the memories come back full force.
'We accepted a mission here after dropping Bardock off back at Planet Vegeta...then Dodoria and his minions betrayed and attacked us! This…it has to have been Freeza's plan all along!'
Her anger gave her just enough energy to push the bodies from atop her and to let her slowly stagger to her feet. However, the energy didn't last long and she collapsed to her knees, slamming her hands down to keep from completely keeling over.
"Dammit…" She weakly cursed. "I've got…to get to Bardock...or Gine…" She didn't truly know why, but she had a very bad feeling. First Bardock was put out of commission on their last mission, then Taro made them take this mission to Planet Meat without their leader.
It was all suspicious enough, especially with this planet essentially out in the middle of nowhere. But that was the least of her worries at the moment. Bardock had always trusted her gut instincts, and right then it was telling her she needed to get to Planet Vegeta.
"Our ships…" She thought, hoping that even one of them was left in tact at least. It took her a while, but she eventually dragged herself back to where their ships had been. Thankfully, it was far from the battle where Dodoria ambushed them. They were all in perfect condition.
Without hesitation, she slumped in and put in the coordinates for Planet Vegeta. She closed her eyes and felt herself slipping in and out of conscious as the ship took off. She fell asleep for five minutes, but the pain and worry woke her. Luckily enough, because she was able to see Freeza's personal ship in orbit above Vegeta. Her eyes widened and she manually made the ship come to a halt.
'No...what's going on? Why is Lord Freeza…' She didn't get to finish as she noticed a singular saiyan pod leaving the atmosphere, heading away from Vegeta and Freeza's ship. She could immediately tell it had a cloaking program running.
'Damn, my scouters broken. Maybe I can…' The saiyan woman manually locked on to the ship, finding its trajectory headed for a place called 'Earth'. The pod indicated the power level within the ship was only 2, and there was no bio data on the occupant. 'Wait, is that a baby? And with a power level that low...Kakarot?' She wondered.
She had seen the baby boy as Gine had been excited to show him to people, regardless of his extremely low power level. Though Fasha couldn't confirm the infant in the pod was Kakarot, very few saiyan babies were born with that low of a power level. It solidified that something was terribly wrong. Her gut instinct soon dropped as she realized that meant Gine was in trouble too.
She set the coordinates for Earth into her pod and put it on a delay, hoping to get down to the planet and grab Gine first and foremost. All of the things happening was starting to confirm her worse fears.
However, she wouldn't get a chance to even approach Planet Vegeta any closer. Her ships scouter picked up on fighting and she turned to see Bardock fighting against the entirety of Freeza's army. And he was doing amazing!
"Holy shit… I knew Bardock was strong, but this?" The computer showed his power already approaching 25,000 and rising! Bardock must have been the strongest saiyan in the world! Maybe even stronger than King Vegeta! (Canonically Bardock was 10,000 and King Vegeta was 18,000)
However, that elation would fall as soon as she saw the glowing ball of death launched by none other than Freeza himself. The quick surge of power Freeza put out to make his attack was picked up by her computer as well.
250,000.
Freeza was ten times more powerful than Bardock, and it didn't even look like he was putting in any effort. Her world froze. She could only watch as the attack overtook Bardock's signature Spirit Cannon.
Then her eyes widened as she truly realized what was about to happen. Not wasting any more time, she hit the 'go' button to follow the coordinates to this Earth place. Her pod turned and took off, following the trajectory of Kakarots pod.
But it was a bit too late. The Death Ball struck Planet Vegeta and in seconds, the planet began to explode. The shockwave from the death of the planet hit Fasha's ship and damaged a lot of the systems. Her head slammed into the side of the pod and she found herself knocked unconscious once more.
She wouldn't awaken until her pod crashed landed on the very planet she was headed too…
When she finally began to stir, her body felt as if it were lead. Her stomach screamed immediately, shooting a jagged pain through her. She had never felt so hungry in her life. But she had no energy to even move.
As her eyes adjusted to the light, she found herself...in a bed?
She began to panic but had no energy to move her body in any way she wanted. Something was over her mouth too! Was she captured? Her heart rate soared and a loud beeping finally registered to her. Her eyes darted around to land on a machine next to whatever bed she was in.
'Where am I? Where…'
"Oh my God, Doctor! Doctor, patient T0 is awake!" She heard a female voice call out excitedly. Moving her eyes around again, she only caught the tail end of a what looked to be a lab coat fluttering out of view.
'Doctors? An infirmary?' She wondered, her mind racing. Though she didn't calm down in the slightest.
A few seconds later and a somewhat tall man wearing a lab coat rushed into the room. Seeing the frantic and furious look on Fasha, the man immediately placed a hand on her arm and quickly called out to the woman that was in the room before.
"Get me anesthesia immediately. This is unheard of."
"Where…" Her voice came out so hoarse, she didn't recognize it herself. It hurt so bad to speak as well, she couldn't continue.
"Please, ma'am! Save your strength! There's a lot to explain and you are in need of further medical care."
Fasha didn't trust this man, but she had no energy to otherwise oppose him. She wanted to get up and blast him and find out where she was. But she felt her ki lower than it had ever been before. Even when she was dying on Planet Meat…
'Wait...Planet Meat...the destruction of Planet Vegeta...what's happened? Where the fuck am I?'
Her anger began to give her just a little strength again, but the massive amount of pain that surged through her body quelled it immediately. Before she could do anymore, several nurses rushed back into the room. The doctor helped hold Fasha down while two of the nurses tried to calm her down with kind words. What really made her calm was when they injected her with something. She felt herself growing sleepy, but not to the point of simply passing out.
"What...did you do to me?" She groaned out.
"Just an anesthetic so you don't hurt yourself or anyone else. Please stay calm ma'am. You've been in a coma for 19 years. We know you have a lot of questions, as do we. First off, do you remember your name?"
She didn't want to answer this man. Even if he was a doctor. And 19 years? How was that possible? She couldn't have been that injured!
"Ma'am?" The doctor repeated softly.
"Fasha."
"And surname?"
"Saiyans have no need for surnames." Fasha weakly argued, her glare just being a tired gaze at the doctor.
"Saiyan? Is that what you are?"
Fasha wanted to growl at the questions. "Where am I?" She tried to struggle against her bonds again, but whatever they did to her had weakened her considerably.
"You're in a hospital Ms. Fasha. In Orange Star City on Earth."
"Earth? I made it to Earth?" Her eyes widened as she suddenly remembered everything. "Kakarot! Where's Kakarot! Did a baby arrive too?"
The doctor and the nurses were startled. "A baby? No, ma'am. There was no child when you were brought in. Did you have a child?"
"Not mine...my friends...our planet...Gine...Bardock…" The tears started against her will. She tried to hold it in, but knowing that her entire race had been wiped out sans for herself and a small baby that she didn't even know was alive finally got to her.
The doctor was smart enough to put two and two together. He sighed and motioned for all but one of the nurses to leave the room. He remained stoic as Fasha sobbed, noting how she tried and failed repeatedly to stop the tears.
The woman was startled as she felt the doctor above her. She was about to curse at him until she felt the restraints on her being released.
"S-sir!" The nurse called in shock.
"It's fine." He simply said. Though he knew it wouldn't be. If Fasha decided to leave, it would be his fault. "Let's get her some fresh air. She must have a lot more questions now."
Though she still didn't trust these Earthlings, Fasha knew she was at their mercy for now. As the doctor helped her stand to her feet, she finally noticed her saiyan armor was gone. She was in a normal hospital gown, but felt naked anyway. Her rage began to build.
"Where is my armor?" She growled out.
"The clothing you arrived here in? Some government suits came years ago and took it unfortunately. I was still a fresh doctor back then so I don't know why they took it or what they did with it." The doctor answered honestly.
Everything was just proving to piss Fasha off more. However, her weakness quelled her anger. She was beginning to feel defeated. The thought that Planet Vegeta was no more constantly fought to the front of her thoughts, plunging her back into sadness. She hadn't paid attention as the doctor escorted her around the hospital and towards a back area of the building. She only looked up as the sun above head brightened her world.
They stood within a closed off section of grass, clearly for people going through physical rehabilitation. There were only two other people in the area besides them; a woman with purple hair in a hospital gown and a man with a fairly small afro. The woman was sitting among flowers, looking out towards the world while the man was attempting push-ups.
The doctor that was escorting her sighed. "Mr. Satan, we've told you already that you shouldn't be training yet! At least give it another week or two!"
The young man stopped doing his push-ups and jumped up. "No can do doc! I'm feeling great and if I let my muscles go any further, I won't have a chance of becoming a world martial arts champion!"
Fasha rose an eyebrow. 'Is he supposed to be a warrior of this planet? I admire his determination to work even when injured, but he looks super weak. How strong can he be when the gravity on this planet is this weak?'
The doctor just sighed again and decided to let Mr. Satan be. He turned to the last person within the small area. "How about you Ms. Launch? How have your allergies been?"
The purple haired woman looked to the doctor and smiled brightly. "I'm swell doctor! My allergies are under control, see?" She motioned to the flowers around her.
The doctor tensed as he expected some type of dramatic irony to cause the woman to sneeze. However, she smelled the flowers and nothing happened. He let out a sigh of relief. Fasha noticed and gave him a questioning gaze but he just shook his head.
"Ms. Launch is a peculiar case. Somewhat as strange as your own honestly. Whenever she sneezes, she switches personalities...and hair color somehow."
Fasha just rose an eyebrow at that. Changing hair color at will was pretty odd, even for her. Instead of dwelling on it, she turned to the aforementioned Mr. Satan.
"Hey, you a warrior?" She gruffly asked.
The afro'd young man flinched at her yell, but he also blushed. She may have been no Launch, but she was pretty in her own rights. "Uh...I'm a martial artist, yes…"
"Spar with me. I need to see how weak I've actually become." Fasha cracked her knuckles and moved to take a fighting stance. However the doctor moved between them with a panicked face.
"Absolutely not! Ms. Fasha, you've just awoken from a 19 year coma and Mr. Satan here is undergoing rehabilitation due to torn muscles and a stab wound. Neither of you are in any condition to spar. Plus, we have a no violence policy within our hospital!"
Both Fasha and Mr. Satan groaned at the doctors words before simultaneously calling out "No fun allowed."
The two looked at each other shocked for a moment before chuckling. Launch giggled and the doctor just sighed in exasperation. However, he was happy to see the woman seeming to get a sense of calm after her panicked awakening. He knew she wasn't fine just yet, and the thought that an alien child had come to Earth all those years ago made him wonder several things as well.
"Dr. Norimaki! You're needed on line 2!" A hospital worker called from the entrance.
"Yes, give me a moment." The doctor responded. He turned to Fasha with a worried expression. "Do you want some time to get adjusted here on your own?"
Fasha scoffed and crossed her arms. "I don't need a babysitter."
He noticed a quiver in her voice but said nothing. She wasn't certain about anything, but maybe some fresh air and time relatively alone would do her some good.
Dr. Norimaki nodded and went back into the building. Fasha took a deep breath and turned to see the other two occupants of the small field looking at her with curiosity and worry. She growled lowly but bit back a yell. She didn't really have the energy for shouting anyway.
"So you're a martial artist too?" Mr. Satan asked somewhat timidly. Fasha gazed at the man briefly, wondering if he could actually be a warrior with how soft he seemed.
"I am a warrior of the Saiyan race! We fight and conquer planets in the name of…" She paused as the thought of Freeza not only brought back the tragic memories from 19 years ago, but also rose her anger quite a bit. She clenched her fists before sighing and calming down. "Yes, though I am mostly self-taught. I've only briefly studied the martial arts helmed by my ancestors. Unfortunately, our last King decided to do away with them in lieu of his own bloodlines fighting style."
"Uh...I don't really get that saiya stuff your talking about, but it sounds like this King guy was a real piece of crap!"
Fasha's jaw dropped at the mans words. She sensed a fire in him and it almost made her laugh. "Yeah, he wasn't the best ruler. And Saiyan is what I am. From the planet Vegeta."
Mr. Satan seemed to pale a little. "So you're really like an alien? Not from Earth?"
"No, I'm not from Earth." She explained patiently, not being offended from being called an alien. A part of her was amused with this boy. From the looks of him, he would be around the same age as Kakarot if 19 years really had passed, give or take a year.
"Wow…" Satan said slowly. "Other worlds with life really do exists…"
Fasha frowned a bit at that. She knew Earth was in a backwater galaxy in a damn near uninhabitable solar system. For as much as some races called the Saiyans primitive she couldn't help but feel like Earth was as primitive as it could get.
'This isn't good. I need to find Kakarot if he's still alive. Then I'd probably need to find a way off this planet...but where would we go? Vegeta is gone and if Freeza finds out some of us Saiyans survived...no, maybe it'd be best to lay low here for a while…'
"Are you alright in there Ms. Fasha?" Satan asked with concern in his voice.
The saiyan woman snapped out of her musings and gave the man what he assumed was an annoyed look. "Stop acting so soft. If you're a warrior or martial artists, speak with confidence."
"Urk…" The young man flinched at her outburst. "Y-yes ma'am!"
Sometime later, Dr. Norimaki returned and escorted everyone back to their quarters. Though Mr. Satan would be allowed to leave in a few weeks, Fasha was told she was a special case. The government essentially owned her as an extra terrestrial. However, Fasha showed them a bit of her power. She said that no one owned her and if they wanted to take her they were free to try.
With her power known to the Doctor, he was relieved and told her if she wanted to 'escape' she could whenever she wanted. But while she was there, he would do his best to help her. Satan and even Launch agreed with the Doctor's sentiment.
Over the next few weeks, Fasha began to get accustomed to Earth, or at least, the hospital. It was made easier as Mr. Satan, whom she found his first name to be Mark, and Launch were by her side almost daily. Eventually, she and Mark found time to themselves to actually spar. Or, for Fasha to unceremoniously beat down the poor young man. Seeing how bad and how weak he actually was, Fasha didn't hesitate to train him herself. She needed a sparring partner and he was the best she had. Plus, it was kinda cute seeing him struggle.
She did eventually get to see Launch sneeze too.
The woman went from a sweet girl that reminded her of Gine, to a foul mouthed rambunctious blonde with a penchant for violence. Reminded her of herself in her younger years, minus the blonde hair.
'Blonde? I couldn't imagine…' Fasha thought with a chuckle.
Fasha easily helped subdue the transformed Launch, and after a trade of foul words, the two became like best friends. Fasha would even get Launch to sneeze on purpose just to hang with her other half, which got the purple haired launch to scold her.
One night found the trio relaxing in a common area, watching television. Fasha sat next to Mark, leaned against him and enjoying the blushing mess he was. Launch in her Super Launch form, that's what Fasha deemed it, just chuckled at the two as she sat on a loveseat eating rice balls.
"Uh, M-Miss Fasha...y-you're kinda close…"
"It's a bit chilly and I'm comfortable. Just deal with it."
"Heh, you fucking cougar." Super Launch chortled.
Fasha just shrugged. It was true, she was almost old enough to be Mark's mother, being only 3 years younger than Gine. But there was something about this Earthling that brought a sense of calm to her. Something she had never really felt on Vegeta.
Fasha snuggled up a bit closer to him, feeling him stiffen up. She held back a giggle but decided to help him relax. "So you'll be out of here in a few days. What are you planning on doing?"
Mark went quiet at that. "I...I don't really know. I don't have anywhere to go back to honestly."
"You were homeless?" Super Launch asked, a small hint of worry seeming to actually come through. "If so, join the club. I was pretty much a nomad for the most part. Except for a time I spent at this old perverts island…" She growled, thinking of Roshi and the Turtle School. She had wanted to learn martial arts, but the old bastard treated her like a maid and piece of meat. Plus, her softer side decided that she would rather be a pacifist, which didn't help.
"That's a story." Fasha said.
"For another time." Super Launch shrugged. "This is about afro."
Mark sighed and looked towards the ceiling. "I guess I'll try to find a job. This years budokai tenkaichi should have happened already so I've missed my chance to win the prize money."
"That martial arts tournament?" Fasha asked.
Mark nodded and smiled. "I've been training for years to compete, but nothing compares to the training you've helped me with!" Mark held a hand up and a small glow appeared over his hand. "This ki stuff is amazing!"
Super Launch did the same, hers being brighter than Marks. "Damn straight it is. That asshole hermit coulda showed me this a long time ago! Next time I see him, I'm kicking his ass!"
Fasha smiled at the two. Though Launch knew about ki, she didn't know how to access it. Surprising, since she figured her transformation had something to do with ki. But she was no scientist so she couldn't say for certain. Both took to her training like fish to water.
It stumped Fasha though. Apparently, Earth's martial artist were EXTREMELY weak. Though she didn't have a scouter, she imagined even adults on the planet didn't have powerlevels that went above 8 or 9, with Martial Artists being a bit above that. She was horrified in thinking how weak Kakarot must have been being raised on Earth.
Her highest power level had been around 7000, which was outstanding for a low class saiyan. She was one of the strongest on Planet Vegeta, even among the elite. All of Bardock's crew were exceptional. It was why they were hailed as the strongest crew on Vegeta outside of Nappa's short lived crew.
Digressing, she had started to notice something. In the short time she had been training Mark and Launch, she noticed that she was beginning to be able to sense ki. It wasn't great, but it was something that amazed her. Maybe she wouldn't need a scouter at all eventually.
"Well what about you, Fasha?" Mark asked, snapping the saiyan woman out of her thoughts. She rose an eyebrow and looked him in the eye, drawing another tint of red to his cheeks. He averted his gaze but continued. "You could've busted out of here weeks ago but you stayed. When we're out of here, what are you planning on doing?"
The older woman took a moment to digest his question. Part of her felt as if she had been hiding in the hospital, afraid to go out to find Kakarot. Afraid to learn that he was already dead and the last connection she had to her crew and Gine was already gone. Another part of her was angry at her cowardice. She didn't care that it seemed as if she had gone soft already. She enjoyed Mark, Launch, and even Dr. Norimaki's company. They were almost like a new crew for her.
"Guess I'll do like Launch and just travel. I still have to find Kakarot if he's out there."
"That reminds me." Launch suddenly spoke up. "I just remembered something about this kid I met while at that perverts island. Kid named Goku something or other. He had a tail just like yours."
Fasha perked up at that. "A kid with a tail? D-did he have black spiky hair like this?" Fasha put her hands to her head in an attempt to emulate Bardock and Goku's hair.
Launch put a finger to her chin and tried to picture the kid. "Yeah! Wouldn't forget that weird ass hair style anywhere! Haven't seen the kid in a few years though."
Fasha suddenly teared up. Was it true? Was Kakarot still alive and well? She was about to jump up and fly out of the hospital, collateral damage be damned, until she felt arms wrap around her.
"Glad to hear your friends kid is still alive! Now it's only a matter of time before you find him!"
The woman beamed at his words and hugged him tight, burying her face in his chest. The young man once again froze, looking to Launch for help but the blonde just chuckled and stuck her middle finger up at him.
On his part, Mark took a deep breath and hugged the woman back. It was the first time she had shown such emotion in front of them. She had always seemed tough. Even tougher than Super Launch. But he had always seen the haunted look in her eyes. As if she were relieving past trauma every now and then, and using her time in the hospital as an escape from that truth.
Unbeknownst to the trio, Dr. Norimaki had heard everything…
A few days later, on the day Mark was to be released, Launch and Fasha decided to also bid farewell to the hospital. The trio decided to stick together out in the world, at least for a while.
"I'm not really used to being in a group anymore, but I'd love to stay with you two." Purple haired Launch called sweetly as she had her arms looped between Fasha and Mark. The three were headed to the back of the hospital, so Fasha could essentially fly them out of there.
"Have you given it anymore thought on training as...well, you?" Fasha asked as they walked.
Launch pouted and shook her head. "Super Launch is capable enough. I don't like fighting…" She whined.
"They really are like two different people." Mark commented in wonder.
As the three snuck out the back, they were surprised to see Dr. Norimaki leaning against a support smoking a cigarette in casual clothes.
"Weren't going to say goodbye?" He called with mirth before flicking the cigarette away.
The three were shocked but smiled at the man. "Isn't today your day off?" Fasha asked.
Norimaki shrugged. "Figured you would run with the others so I wanted to see you all off. Plus, I've got a present for you all."
He walked over and handed Mark a small capsule case.
"These are experimental. Dr. Brief owed me a favor and let me have these."
"And they are?" Mark asked.
"Capsule homes. Capsule Corp just got these to the live testing phase. There are five houses in there, just in case you break any of them training. They're three bedrooms in each specifically, but they're mostly meant for on the go travel."
"Aww, thank you very much Dr. Norimaki!" Launch hugged the man.
Fasha nodded her thanks and Mark shook the mans hand.
"Thanks for everything doc." Fasha called sincerely.
"Thank me by living a wonderful life from here on out. And don't be strangers." The doctor waved to the trio before turning and walking away.
Mark smirked as the doctor left. "With how hard working he is, I guess his old moniker isn't really appropriate anymore?"
Launch rose an eyebrow. "Hm? What old moniker?"
"People used to call him Dr. Slump."
