Another chapter! I am doing good! I'm pretty happy with this chapter! Though gosh I can't wait for Arven to say Koraidon's name because calling him the Scarlet Pokemon was getting annoying. Anyway! I hope you all enjoy this chapter! Please leave a review when you can!

Following Nemona down the stairs that lead to a beach, Ash looks at the Pokemon Battle court with excitement. Her first Pokemon battle, a year earlier than most kids in Kanto. She stepped on one side of the blue field, staring in awe before she looked down at Apollo who was in her arms.

"I'm going to set you down now, OK?"

Trilling, Apollo nodded, allowing Ash to place him down before she pulled out her Rotom Phone. Opening the academy's Pokédex app, she scanned Apollo.

Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokemon. The fire energy from its body makes the flame on its head ripple like waves. But when its emotions run hot, the flames grow much bigger. It lies on warm rocks and uses the heat absorbed by its square-shaped scales to create fire energy.

This Fuecoc is male and knows the moves: Tackle, Leer, and Ember. Its ability is Blaze, which boosts its Fire-type moves when it is low on health.

"Not surprising that you don't know any Egg moves," Ash mutters, making Fuecoco look up at her nervously. "That's not a bad thing, I promise. Usually, only selectively bred Pokémon get them, and those are for experienced Trainers. You were probably bred by the Paldea League, which doesn't focus on Egg Moves, just to make sure your species are good for new beginner Trainers."

She scratched under Apollo's chin, making him croak happily, his tail wagging behind him. "It makes no difference, we're going to win this," she finished as she stood up, placing her Rotom Phone back in her pocket.

"Anyone can be a Pokémon Trainer as long as they have Pokémon by their side. And it's our duty as Trainers to help our Pokemon grow stronger through battle!" Nemona said, grinning down at Masquerade, who licked his paw, wiping it against his face. Nemona held out her arm and said, "Ash, let's have a fruitful battle."

"All right!" Ash agreed, a grin on her face and heart pounding in her chest. "Let's go, Apollo!"

To Ash's surprise Apollo let out a small roar, stomping a foot on the ground and snorting bits of embers on the ground. Masquerade hissed, fur poofing up as her tail lashed back and forth.

Ash snapped out of it and called, "Apollo, use Ember!"

Apollo opened his mouth, fire pooling within before he threw his head to the side, sending balls of flame towards the Sprigatito. Nemona curled her hand into a fist. "You must been studying up! Smart move: Fire is strong against Grass! But we won't let that stop up! Masquerade, jump to the side and use Scratch!"

Meowing, Masquerade jumped to the side, the embers hitting the blue battlefield and scorching the ground black where he had been standing. Hissing, the cat charged forward, leaping at Apollo's face with glowing claws. Ash cried out in concern, but sighed when Apollo shook his head, quickly recovering from the attack.

"Apollo, use Leer to lower his defenses and use Ember again!"

Nodding, Apollo narrowed his eyes, making Masquerade take a few steps back in surprise, a slight blue glow surrounding his body. Before Nemona could call out to him to dodge, the Fuecoco spat more fireballs at him, hitting the Sprigatito straight on. Groaning in pain at the fire, he curl his lips, showing his sharp fangs, and growled. And Ash blinked as a soft blue glow surrounded Apollo.

"Masquerade must have used Growl," she whispered, then yelped as the Grass Cat Pokemon began charging forward. "Ah! Quick, Apollo, dodge it and use Ember one more time!" Even with the lower Attack, Masquerade was still weakened from the Leer and Fire was super effective against him. Ash was praying that this last attack would work.

Luckily, it did: Apollo easily sidestepped Masquerade and quickly turned, spitting more flames onto the Sprigatito's back. Screeching in pain, Masquerade collapsed, pink eyes now filled with swirls. Ash panted, staring with wide eyes. Then her victory sunk in, and she threw her arms in the air and whooped, running forward and grabbing Apollo, who was snorting up smoke.

"We did it! We did it!" she cheered, laughing as she spun him around, "Oh, Arceus, that was amazing! I knew Pokemon battles were fun but that was—"

"Something right?" Nemona remarked, walking over with Masquerade cradled in her arms, "Look at you, winning your first battle. You got even more potential than I thought! You're going to be a strong Trainer for sure!"

Ash smiled at this, feeling pride well up in her at the praise. "Mr. Clavell says Nemona is a Champion Rank Trainer…maybe Gary is wrong…maybe I can be a good Trainer!" She grinned more, watching as Nemona returns Masquerade into his Pokéball. "We should battle again later."

Nemona smiled and wrapping an arm around Ash's shoulder. "My thoughts exactly! I want to try a different strategy when we battle next time,"

At a sound of a chuckle, the two girls turned to Mr. Clavell, who smiled softly at them. "You two seem to be fast friends" he remarked contentedly, turning his gaze to Nemona, "Can I count on you to take your new schoolmate here under your wing, Miss Nemona? I'm sure she can learn a great deal from a Champion Rank Trainer, such as yourself."

"You bet, sir!" Nemona nodded her head, but chuckles, "Though I doubt I need to help her that much. She was already using the Pokédex app like a pro!" Nemona pulled away, scratching at her cheek, "I still have trouble figuring it out and Mr. Jacq even took the time to try and help me with it." She turned to Ash and added, "Mr. Jacq is our homeroom teacher and Biology Teacher. He made the Paldea Pokédex."

Mr. Clavell closed his eyes. "Back in my day, we used ordinary paper and handwritten notes to compile our Pokédexes," he remarked. Then he smiled, opening his eyes to look at the two girls. "It's quite the age we live now."

Both Ash and Nemona grimaced at the thought, "Oof! Filling out a Pokédex by hand? I can't even imagine how much work that would take," Nemona shuddered.

"I don't want to imagine it," Ash mutters making Mr. Clavell laughed.

"Ohoho. No, I suppose you wouldn't." He then turned toward the stairs. "Yet, no matter how much the times may change, the wonder of meeting new Pokémon never does. That is truly a timeless pleasure, and the more Pokémon that you encounter, the more you'll find yourself growing and changing. I hope you will both work hard for whatever goals you want to accomplish."

He looked back. "Now, Miss Nemona, I do still have a few matters to discuss with your parents. Could I depend on you to see Miss Ash to the Academy and get her all settled in? You would be doing me quite the favor."

"Of course, sir! Leave it to me!" Nemona smiled.

"Then I'll leave her in your capable hands," he nodded, turning to Quaxly. "All right, little one. Its time you and I were on our way," Quaxly flaps his wings, quacking happily as he followed after Mr. Clavell.

Nemona crossed her arms. "Well, hopefully, I'll be able to catch some mons. I've never been good at it. Hey," she added, looking at Ash. "Since Apollo is your first Pokemon, that means you never caught a Pokemon, nor taught to, right?" Ash shook her head and Nemona grinned. "Then that's what we'll do on our way to the Academy! Help you catch a Pokémon to add to your team! Come on! Follow me to Poco Path!"

"Nemona!" Ash yelped as the older girl grabbed her wrist, quickly pulling her Pokéball out to return Apollo.

The taller girl lead her to a dirt path diverting from the main road, Ash stumbling after her. Poco Path looked a lot like Route One, with patches of grass on both sides of the road and a few trees.

"All right!" Nemona said, coming to a halt and finally letting go of her wrist. "This here is Poco Path! It's the path that leads to adventure for you and me! Out here, things are different than in town. You're going to see wild Pokemon out and about."

And Nemona was right: Poco Path was filled with Pokémon. Pokémon that Ash had never seen before were scurrying in the grass or flying in the sky. Nemona grinned at the awe in Ash's red eyes.

"Get too close to one and you'll have to battle. But you got Apollo for that now…and if you want to try and catch a Pokémon, you gotta use these!"

Ash turned to see Nemona holding out five Pokéballs in her hand. She glanced at her face, and at the older girl's nod, Ash took them, holding them carefully in her hands.

The sound of rustling grass made them turn their heads, seeing a small bird Pokemon push itself out of the grass. Turning its reddish-orange head about, it pecked at the grass, looking for food on the ground.

"A Fletchling," Nemona stated as Ash pulls out her Rotom Phone.

Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokemon. Although Fletchling is normally calm, once it enters battle, its hormonal balances changes and it becomes aggressive. Its beautiful cries are actually warnings for all those who enters its territory.

"Ohhh, what luck. Time for some learning by doing! Try battling the Fletchling, Ash," Pneumonia urged, patting her on the back before gently pushing the younger girl forward, making her squawk a bit. Juggling with the Pokeballs in her hands, she attached them to her Trainer belt before grabbing Apollo's, releasing the Fuecoco.

"All right, Apollo!" Ash cries out getting both Apollo and the Flechling's attention, "Charge in with a—"

Fletchling flew up into the air, flapping its gray wings madly, causing a tornado of sand to blow their way. Ash shrieked, falling backward and covering her eyes with her arms, coughing and spitting to get the sand out of her face. When she lowered her hands, Fletchling was flying away with a trill.

"Awww," she sighed sadly.

"Rotten luck," Nemona hissed as she came over and offered a hand. Ash grabbing it, and Nemona pulled her up, "But we all have those sometimes, and you're a beginner, you're gonna mess up a few times."

Ash nodded, still frowning as she shook her arms to get the sand off.

"My advice is, that while it's OK to scream out orders during Trainer battles, when battling a wild Pokemon, it's better to order your mons in a softer tone. The Wild Pokemon will freak out and react, or run," Nemona said before her head snaps up at the multiple sounds of trills. Turning, Ash's eyes widened at the multiple Fletchlings that were flying towards them.

"OK! Lesson over! Time to run!" Nemona yelped, once more grabbing Ash's wrist—luckily after Apollo had crawled back up onto Ash's shoulder—and both girls ran down the trail, passing many types of Pokémon.

They skidded to a stop where a fence blocked a cliff that overlooked the ocean, keeping anyone from falling down. Breathing heavily, the two girls looked at each other before laughing a bit.

"Man…that was a close one," Nemona wheezed. "Let me tell you Ash, Fletchling pecks are no joke." Pushing herself off her knees, Nemona suddenly frowned. "What the…what happened here?"

Following Nemona's eyes, Ash too frowned at the sight of the broken fence, the wood shattered as if a Tauros had run straight through it. As she took a step closer, a roar echoed from below. Frowning, Ash stepped closer, spotting a scarlet reptilian Pokémon laying down on the sandy beach, surrounded by a small pack of Houndours. She frowned, watching as the scarlet Pokemon brought its head up—

"Ah-giiYAAAHHHHHHHH!"

—and roared at the Houndour, which quickly turned tail and fled. But Ash stumbled as the ground beneath her feet began to shake before the edge of the cliff she had been standing on crumbled. She screamed as she fell, Apollo's little claws pricking at her shoulder as he clung to her, both shutting their eyes waiting for the impact. Suddenly, Ash felt something push itself into the palm of her hand, and force it up. Gritting her teeth in pain as her body jerks to a painful stop, Ash slowly opens her eyes to see herself floating in midair before she was gently placed on the ground. Heart pounding, Ash looked up to see her Rotom Phone had somehow emerged out of her pocket and somehow, incredibly had stopped her fall.

"Thank the Guardian," Ash whispered, saying something her mother had always said when something really good happened, nodding her head to the Rotom Phone, "Thanks for the save, Rotom," it beeped happily before going back into her pocket. Heart still pounding, Ash gently took Apollo off her shoulder, cradling him close to her chest as she turned around, seeing the scarlet Pokemon still collapsed on the sand. Stepping closer, she eyes its form, seeing that it wasn't fully covered in scarlet scales with cheeks, belly, legs and tail had white scales. Its head and tail were covered with white feathers with blue-purple at the base, that seem to mate the blue spikes that protrude from his shoulders. Ash couldn't help but gasp, when she saw the gaping bleeding wound on its arm, where it looked like something had tried to claw at it.

Quickly setting Apollo down, she rummage through her bag, pulling out a Potion when the Pokemon's head snaps up, its lips curled showing sharp fangs as its yellow eyes glare at her in distrust. Staring with wide red eyes, even as Apollo growls and stood in front of her, Ash gently takes a step back, but still rummages in her book bag, pulling out a small ocarina.

Setting the bag down, Ash plops herself on the ground and brings the ocarina to her mouth. Both Pokemon tense when a soft melody comes out of the ocarina, but Ash kept playing, her eyes on the mysterious scarlet Pokemon, watching with each note as it slowly relaxes, the tension leaving its figure. Apollo chirps, his small tail wagging and Ash had to hold back the urge to laugh as he tries to copy the song, missing a few notes. But it works, as the scarlet Pokemon slowly relaxes, not even tensing one bit as Ash secretly scoots closer to it. She could tell that it noticed what she was doing, but it was too preoccupied with the song. Once she played the last note, she slowly pulls the ocarina away and brought a hand up, making sure the Pokemon could clearly see it as she gently places her hand on its neck, "Its ok…its ok…I won't hurt you," she whispers, gently petting its neck, "I just want to use a Potion on you and wrap that nasty wound up so it won't get infected and you get sick…may I do that?"

The Pokemon stares at her, red eyes meeting yellow and it nods. Smiling, she picks up the Potion, "This is going to sting a bit…but that means its working," she warned before spraying the contents of the Potion on its arm. The Pokemon growls, closing its eyes tightly but luckily doesn't snap at her, "You're doing good…almost done… I'm glad you like the song," she gently spoke, placing the empty bottle down and grabbing bandages, "My mom taught me that song, she learned it from this festival on Shamouti Island…her grandparents lived there, and she told me that every summer she went there. The song I played is like a major song for them, they play it every Legend Festival and mom taught me how to play it…it always seems to calm Pokemon down,"

While Ash wraps the wound up in bandages, neither of the three noticed that the waves behind them got harsher, splashing across the shore. Neither of them hearing a cry from underneath the wave, sounding so similar to the song that Ash played. "There we go," Ash whispers as she made sure that the bandage was tied on tight but not too tight, "That should do it," she scoots backwards, her and Apollo watching as the Pokemon tries to sit up, but flops back to the ground. Frowning a bit, she blinked when a low growl sounded, "Oh! You're hungry!" Grabbing her bag she pulls out the sandwich that her mom packed her, "Its not much, but my mom's sandwiches are really good! I promise," holding it out for the Pokemon to eat, she watches as its nose twitches, yelping as she pulls her hand back when it snaps into the sandwich.

"Man...you must be really hungry," Ash remarked watching as the sandwich was gobble up in a few seconds. Shaking its head, "Gia!" it rumbles, slowly standing up, shaking its hold body but wincing when it moves its injured leg too much. "Agias!" it croaks, stretching its body before it looks around, before it began walk away.

"Uh…what?" Ash whispers, picking up Apollo and watching as the Pokemon started heading towards an entrance to a cave that was behind them. But suddenly it stops, leaning down and closing its yellow eyes. Before Ash could ask if it was ok, a bright orange glow erupted from it, and its form changed. The feathers on its head and tail were flurred out, the black marking on its chest inflated, now resembling a tire. It curls its webbed paws into fists, tail lashing out as it turns to look at Ash and Apollo behind him, smiling at her before throwing its head to the cave entrance.

"I think…it wants us to follow it," Ash whispers to Apollo who croaks in agreement. Shaking her head, Ash jogs up to the Pokemon, standing close by its side as they enter the cave. It was dark, but luckily they could still see thanks to the glowing moss that clung to the walls.

Climbing up a slope, Ash slips a bit, grabbing onto the Pokemon's hand before she fell face first onto the rocky ground. It looked at her, blinking before pulling its arm up to get her back on her feet. Giggling, Ash nods her head in thanks but looks up when she heard a voice cry out her name.

"Ash!" looking up, where sunlight shined into the cavern from an entrance at the top was Nemona. Her orange eyes looked down at Ash and Apollo with concern and fear, "There you guys are! Are you ok? You're not hurt are you?"

"No!" Ash calls back, "My Rotom Phone stop my fall!"

"Thank goodness," Nemona sighs, "I was really worried! If you gotten hurt under my watch…no never mind that! Right now, we've gotta focus on getting you and Apollo back up here..."

"It looks like the only way out is going up!" Ash pointed out and she could hear Nemona groan, "I'm going to find a way to get to the top!"

"Alright! But be careful! Word went out on the Buzzapp that one of the Houndours in there has evolved! Ace Trainers haven't been sent out yet to relocate it to a new pack so uh try to not draw attention to yourself…Madita sea…of all the days I had to give my family their Pokemon back,"

Ash nodded her head, but jumps back when the sound of a boulder being shattered sounded in her ears. She blinks, turning her head to see the Pokemon standing in front of the shatter remains of what could only possibly be a boulder, "Hey, what's that Pokemon in front of you! It looks super strong,"

"I don't know!" Ash shouted, running after it, "Its the Pokemon that made that cry…it was injured and I healed it up with some Potions and my mom's sandwich,"

"Kinda seems likes its waiting for you," Nemona remarked, watching as Ash ran up to its side, which made it nod its head before walking up the slope again. She could see a few Houndours running off, yipping madly and Ash couldn't help but swallow. She turns her head, rubbing her arm when she saw no one behind them. She knew that Nemona was keeping a watch on them, but it felt like someone else was watching them, burning holes in the back of her head. She takes a step back, as the Pokemon swings its fist against another boulder that was blocking their path. "Oh my Arceus… it straight up pulverized that rock!" Nemona exclaims, "How powerful even is it?!"

Ash smiles, climbing over the bits of rock so she would trip but then Nemona cries out, "Ash! Look out! Something's coming!"

Spinning on her heel, Ash gasps in horror as a Houndoom came charging in, flames spewing from its open maw. Ash takes a step back, grabbing onto Apollo who tried to leap off her shoulder to protect her, "No Apollo!" she whispers, holding him close, "That Houndoom is too strong for you!" looking at the scars that covered its body, to its shoulders to its back, it was clear that this Houndoom has seen many battles and won them.

Howling the Houndoom leaps at her, Ash staring with wide eyes as she curls up, hoping to keep Apollo safe when the scarlet Pokemon roars leaping in front of her. With the swing of its tail, it smashes it into the Houndoom's face, making it skid across the ground. Lips curl the scarlet Pokemon roars, feathers flurred out, showing its anger. The Houndoom shakes its head, blood leaking from the corner of its mouth before it howls. Ash's eyes widen seeing the stampede of Houndours charging forward at their leaders call, surrounding them.

Apollo wiggles in her arms, making small growls at the three Houdours that surrounded them. Yelping when one tried to bite at her ankle, Ash kicks out her foot, "Go away! Leave us alone!" she pleaded as her heart pounded. She then gives a little shriek as she was hoisted up by the Scarlet Pokemon, cradle close to their chest as they looked around, giving loud growls at the Dark Pokemon that were slowly stalking towards them, the Houndoom giving them a cruel smirk. "Heeeey!" looking up Ash and the Scarlet Pokemon to see Nemona calling out to them, two cliffs that if they could jump on would allow them to reach the exit to the cave, "Up here! Quick!"

Nodding its head, the Scarlet Pokemon leaps up, easily making it onto one cliff before making another leap, landing on the second. Ash looked at it in concern when she could hear its breathing, wheezing with every breath. Its arms and legs were clearly trembling with exhaustion but it shook its head, making another leap and grabbing the edge to the exit, scrambling upwards while still cradling Ash and Apollo in one arm.

Nemona was watching with bated breath, biting at her lips before she lets out a cry of joy as Ash was gently settle down, clapping in victory. "You're both ok!" she exclaims, wrapping her arms around Ash, "Way to go! For a second, I thought you three were goners," she then pulls away a bit, "It…doesn't look so good," Nemona commented, Ash turning around just in time to see the Scarlet Pokemon fall face forward, glowing the same bright light it did on the beach before it was once more it looked like it did when she first met it.

"Woah!" Nemona goes over to it, pulling a Hyper Potion from her bag and spraying its contents on the mysterious Pokemon, "It must have used all its power…at least I think it did," she places the empty bottle down, "I don't even know what Pokemon this is…"

"You don't?" Ash whispers, gently walking over to them, and kneeling besides the Pokemon. She gently petted its neck, frowning before she looked up at Nemona.

"No…never," Nemona shakes her head, "I mean, it kinda looks like a Cyclizar…but I never seen one this big…or orange in fact. And it looked so different from a minute ago..Cyclizars can't change their forms like that,"

Ash frowns at this, while Apollo sniffs at the Pokemon, croaking in sadness. Pulling out her Rotom Phone, she tries to scan it, "There is no data, there are still Pokemon yet to be discovered,"

"Discovered? Wait," Nemona's eyes were wide, "Do…do you think that you found a new Pokemon never discover before!? This is amazing!" she grins at Ash, "I'm glad you hid it with you," Nemona shivers, fear flashing in her eyes, "I don't want to think what would had happen if it wasn't…who knows what that Houndoom would had done,"

"Yeah…me too," Ash whispers, but then yelp when the Pokemon's head suddenly shot up, blinking sleepily, "I guess it just needed a small rest?" she watches as it stands up, shaking its head before it cries out, spotting the Lighthouse in the distance. The two girls watched as it trotted off in that direction, "Hey! Wait for us!" ASh exclaims, picking up Apollo and running after the Pokemon, "You're still injured!"

"Ash! Wait for me!" Nemona exclaims, following behind them. Luckily, neither of them had to run too far, as the Lighthouse was just ahead. But they were not the only ones there. Standing at the window was a boy slightly older than Nemona, wearing the Academy's autumn uniform which consists of a dark blue vest over a long sleeve whitish blue button up shirt. The orange shorts were also slightly longer. He turns his head over his shoulder, his ice blue eyes widening at the sight of the scarlet Pokemon that came charging towards the Lighthouse. He pushed his messy blonde with dark gray stripe hair out of his face, staring in shock and to Ash's confusion horror.

"Why…that…what is he doing out here!?"

Ash- Apollo (Fuecoco)

Nemona- Masquerade (Sprigatito), Egg (Pawmi)

As I said, calling Koraidon the scarlet Pokemon was a bit annoying, but Arven the best boy is here! ASh is going to get a big brother! And I hope you like the call out I did with the Flechling and the first episode of Pokemon! Also lookie here, Ash already knows the Lugia song..I do want to say that this series will be a mix of both the games and anime, which in my opion lots of ash kectum rewrites seem to forget...like they mostly put ash in the game world, which isn't so bad of course! But I want it to be a perfext mix of the two! Anyway I hope you all enjoy! Leave a comment please!
