6:00am Ruby's scroll is going off in their Atlas dorm room.
Stretching big from the top bunk "Good morning team RWBY! Are you guys excited for the day?"
Wiess, Blake, and Yang are all mumbling similar versions of "It's already time to get up." "WHYYYYYY?"
It's been a busy couple of weeks for team RWBY since they've become official huntresses. Various missions all day starting with the 6am wake up call. They loved doing their part and helping the citizens of Mantle and Atlas, but boy was it becoming exhausting.
"Well, let's get moving ladies."
Ruby and Wiess got up and out of bed first, following was Blake and then Yang dropping down behind her. Yang caught herself staring at Blake standing in front of her because the faunus was stunning in every moment to Yang. Even with bed head, dried drool on her cheek, and wrinkled sweats and a t-shirt, a beautiful site to be taken in. Recently, she's realized how much Blake really means to her. Now it was all about trying to find the right time and way to express that to Blake.
As they continued walking to the bathroom door, Yang's eyes trailed down to Blake's butt. She couldn't help herself, this girl is just perfect in every way. Then she noticed the stain on the light gray sweatpants. Blake was practically walking to the bathroom with her eyes closed, she was still half asleep not really with it yet.
Yang wrapped her arms around Blake's shoulders from behind for a little morning hug. Blake stopped walking to fully accept the embrace. She loved any excuse to be close to Yang. She leaned her head into Yang's with her eyes still closed, and brought her hands up to hold Yang's arms. Blake has come to realize how important Yang is to her. Also noticing how absolutely beautiful the tall blonde is every day.
Waking up mere moments ago, the morning was still heavy on their voices.
Smiling while standing in the warm embrace, now yawning "Good morning, Yang." This small moment made Blake's heart feel so full.
"Good morning." Still not letting go because Yang was eating up every moment of this embrace, "Also I think you started your period. The back of your sweats are stained."
That snapped Blake awake. She opened her eyes and actually acknowledged her body, and she felt horrible. Blake knew Yang's assumption was right because she already felt the cramps starting to pick up and the general heaviness that took over her body every time she got her period. She sighed and stepped forward out the hug she was loving.
Still facing away from Yang, letting her emotions get the best of her "You know, I really don't want to do today. I already feel awful and can only imagine how much worse I'll feel for the rest of the day."
Yang took Blake's shoulder and turned her around to face her. Now seeing why Blake didn't turn around on her own, there were tears streaming down her cheeks. Yang gave Blake a gentle smile and wiped the tears off her face. Then she got the best idea to show Blake how much she cares for her.
"Hey, it's okay you don't have to do today. You deserve a day off. In fact, I'm going to stay and take care of you."
"That's sweet of you, Yang, but I can't miss missions today just because I started my period. Ruby and Wiess wouldn't go for that either."
"Blake, you feel terrible, and how much help are you going to be to someone else if you're not operating at 100%?"
"Yeah but I can't do that to our team."
"Nope, you definitely can, watch. *slightly yelling so they can hear her while they're getting ready* Ruby! Weiss! Blake started her period and feels terrible so she's not going on missions today. I'm also not going so I can take care of her."
Blake couldn't believe Yang just did that.
"No, I can still go, guys. I'll be okay."
Ruby yelled back with her toothbrush in her mouth. "No, no it's fine Blake! Take today off."
Followed by Wiess who was fixing the braid in her hair, "Seriously, Blake it's completely fine. We understand."
Blake wasn't expecting that type of reaction from her teammates. She was relieved that they were okay with it because she really couldn't do it today.
Yang looked at Blake with a smug grin, "See, I told you."
"How'd you know they wouldn't care?"
"Well we are all women who've experienced a bad period before. Plus when Ruby first got her period it was really bad for a couple of months. She couldn't do anything for the first few days, so she really gets it. And Weiss has a bigger heart than we give her credit for."
"There's only one more problem."
"And what's that?"
"What are we going to tell everyone else for us missing today? I don't feel like broadcasting to the Ace Ops and team JRN that I'm missing because of my period."
"Ruby and Weiss can just tell them we're sick. No sweat."
Blake was so grateful that Yang took immediate action for her this morning. The fact that Yang cares so much about her that it wasn't even a question of taking care of her either, Yang was going to do it if Blake wanted her to or not.
"So now that's all of that is taken care of, why don't you go get a shower and I'll get some stuff ready."
Blake nodded and headed towards the bathroom passing Ruby and Weiss who were heading out the door, "Bye guys! Feel better, Blake."
As soon as Yang heard the water turn on she got started on making this the most comfortable morning for Blake. She got into their storage bins finding new boxes of tampons and pads, a heating pad, and the tea set. Next moving over to the drawers to get Blake a pair of fresh, comfy clothes and underwear. To her surprise Blake didn't have any more pajama sets clean. It didn't matter, Yang would just give her a clean set of her own. She knocked and walked into the bathroom.
"Hey, don't mind me just grabbing your dirty clothes, and leaving you some fresh pajamas, underwear, and new boxes of tampons and pads."
Blake was soaking up the warm water of the shower. "Thank you, but you know you don't have to do my laundry or anything like that. You've already done plenty for me this morning."
"Stop, I'm doing everything I possibly can for you today. So enjoy that shower and I'll be ready for you when you're done." Yang walked out of the bathroom, shutting the door on the way out.
Thinking to herself, Okay, I need to get the tea brewing, change her sheets because they're probably stained, get the heating pad warmed up, and something to eat for breakfast. Go time.
Usually Yang wasn't the biggest fan of chores and what not, but everything she's done so far this morning she's been happy about. Even changing the sheets, that's Yang's least favorite chore and she couldn't help but smile while doing it knowing who she was doing it for. She heard the water turn off after what really did seem to be a long time. Blake finally walked out of the bathroom, steam crept behind her. It made her look like she was an angel walking out of a cloud.
Yang pulled over a small table next to Blake's bed. She put one of Blake's favorite books on it, along with a freshly brewed cup of tea, and some toast. As Blake continued over to her, Yang couldn't help but notice how extra cozy Blake looked in her clothes. They were just a little oversized, which Blake seemed to really enjoy. Yang was sitting on the edge of Blake's bed, patting the premade spot Yang arranged with fresh sheets, extra pillows, and the heating pad.
"Come on over, I got this all set up. The heating pad is already nice and warm and I put fresh sheets on for you. Plus breakfast, tea just how you like it, and one of your favorite books." Yang really couldn't wipe the smile off her face. This made her so genuinely happy.
Blake made her way into her bed, getting situated adjusting the heating pad and taking a sip of tea. She looked at Yang and couldn't hold back the tears any longer.
"This is all so nice, everything you've done for me this morning. I don't deserve all this, I don't deserve you."
Yang looked at Blake and held her cheek in her hand. "You deserve everything in this world, Blake. I wish I could give you the world."
Still crying, Blake pulled Yang in hugging her, with no intent of letting her go. "Thank you for all this, Yang."
After a few minutes, Yang went to pull away from Blake. "Hey where are you going?"
"I figured you'd want your bed with just you in it."
Blake moved down so she wasn't sitting up anymore. "I want you to be in here with me." Blake patted the spot next to her. "Come on."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
Yang got back into Blake's bed. Not wanting to overstep any boundaries she left space between them. She didn't want Blake to think she did all this just to get an opportunity for anything. This was all done out of love. Blake had an idea of what Yang was thinking, they had been subtly flirting with each other for the past few weeks, noticing each other a lot lately. Blake was the one who was going to take the opportunity. She pulled Yang over to her to close the space between them.
"Much better."
Letting out a breath of relief, "Yeah it is."
Blake faced Yang and put their foreheads together and she cuddled her body right up against hers. Holding each other, Blake closed her eyes.
"Thank you again for all of this. I really appreciate you, Yang Xiao Long."
Yang was blushing hard. "I'm glad I could do it for you, Blake Belladonna. Anything to make you feel better."
"You've made me feel so loved." Taking a deep breath and a leap of faith, Blake finally decided to tell Yang how she felt. Now felt like a better time than any. "Yang, I love you."
Silence took over for a minute. The silence led Blake to think that she might have just messed everything up. Then it broke when Yang started to tear up at hearing those words. She loved Blake so much and wanted nothing more than for her to feel the same way.
"I love you too."
Instant relief washed over Blake. "Really, you do?"
"Of course I love you. You're my everything, Blake."
Being overtaken by the moment, Blake leaned in to kiss Yang. Yang felt like all of her dreams were coming true. She was kissing the girl of her dreams.
Blake put head into the small of Yang's neck and fell fast asleep. Yang laid there taking in the moment holding Blake, thinking of how this really was the best morning ever. Soon she drifted back to sleep, never letting go of the woman she loves.
