It's the next day since the whole drama with the painting and her so called old friend, Thea has agreed to go travelling with The doctor and Rose, she asked him the night before to give her the night to sort some things... I.e compelling someone to water her plants and look after her cat, she was drifting away in her thoughts when she hears a noise and her mouth drops open when a large blue box materialises in front of her literally in her living on top of her new coffee table breaking it completely.
The doctor and Rose pop their heads out and give her a smile "I hope your driving is better than your parking" Thea grumbles at him, Rose laughs at her words and the Doctor rolls his eyes "come on you ready yet?"
"Yes I'm ready" Thea says back, "you are packing awfully light" the doctor says giving her a look at the singular rucksack, Thea shrugs "didn't think I would need much for one trip" at her words Rose frowns a little she was hoping Thea would stay longer, that it would be nice having another girl around. The doctor however takes no notice of her words and chuckles "They always say it's just one trip"
Thea rolls her eyes playfully and finally looks and takes in the sight of the blue box in her room, "haven't seen one of them in long time" Thea says intrigued by it, the doctor looks confused for a moment at her comment "A TARDIS?" Thea gives him a look "no you dummy a police box obviously"
The doctor rolls his eyes once again "it was an easy mistake to make" he counters back. She hasn't seen a police box in a long time, how old is she actually is? Goes through his mind taking a mental note to ask later.
"Mmm sure, I'm assuming, Tardis is it's name and I'm also hoping that it's much bigger inside than an actual police box right" Thea asks curiously. This time the doctor grins widely "step in and see" Thea looks at his smile and at Roses smile and does just as he says and steps into the Tardis.
She looks around and she is actually gobsmacked at how big it really is, she's never in her life seen something like this she wonders how it works?
The doctor makes his way over to the console and Rose plants herself down on the seat, "so well what do you think of her?" He asks her eagerly, moving his hand around gesturing to his ship.
"Just wow...not what I was expecting I must say" Thea begins to say before looking around some more before adding on "She's...amazing" The doctor smiles proudly of his ship and the compliments Thea gives her.
"I normally love it when they say 'it's bigger on the inside'.. but I like what you said too" The doctor replies back.
Thea hums a little "so how does it work then? The Tardis I mean"
The doctor claps his hands excitedly and starts to ramble "Well let's start with what Tardis means, 'Time And Relative Dimension In Space' she is Dimensionally transcendental, she is much much bigger on the insides, she has so many rooms a pool, a library, an art gallery, a junk room, a walk-in wardrobe, an aquarium, a zoo and a garage. Just to name a few! She has rooms that I probably haven't even discovered"
Thea nods a little pretty amazed at how much he says that's in the Tardis "why does she look like a Police box?"
"Good question! You see the TARDIS has a chameleon circuit which should allow her to disguise herself, the circuit broke and she's stuck like that" The doctor explains to her. She raises an eyebrow at him "stuck or have you just grown to like her that way?"
"I love it" The doctor answers back grinning and Rose nods in agreement "Me too"
Thea smiles back and them both and she runs her hand along the Tardis console gently, she furrows her eyebrows for a moment when she feels something brushing against her mind, she takes her hand off slowly, He arches a questioning curious eyebrow at her "what? What's wrong?"
Thea turns back to him "this might sound strange but I swear your ship reacted to me touching it.. her?" The doctor nods "ah! Yes!" He taps his hand on the console himself and continues "Not strange but you are right, she does that, she's a sentiment spaceship, the best in whole wide universe! And she can be sometimes be a cheeky old girl" the ships hums an agreement with his words.
Thea eyes widen a little when she realises what he means "she's alive..." the Tardis hums again and Thea looks around "okay now that is definitely amazing" she's complete stunned and awed and everything else in between at this amazing ship.
"Oh Yes!" The doctor grins proud of his ship. "Oh um I should also probably explain, she can also do something that I should probably tell you about" He tells her remembering the earful he received from Rose when she found out the Tardis gets in the mind without asking "you see she has a telepathic field that gets inside your mind and she helps translate languages across the universe for you" He explains to her hesitantly.
Thea frowns slightly at the thought of something being deeply telepathically in her mind. The doctor notices her frown and glances at Rose and she shrugs before he looks back at Thea "Is it a problem?"
Thea rests her hand on the console and shakes head, she feels a vibration on her hand like the Tardis is reassuring her that her secrets are safe until she's ready to open up herself. "No it's not a problem" Thea reassures him.
Rose speaks up "okay I have some questions, doctor told me you weren't exactly human.. that you were a Tribrid? What does that exactly mean?" Thea gives the doctor a look "looks like someone can't hold their own mouth" The doctor feigns an innocent smile at her.
"Alright,Alright okay I will tell you" Thea leans against the railing and thinks of her words "I'm a Tribrid which means basically I'm a cross-breed of three different species.. werewolf..vampire and witch well technically a siphoner witch meaning I can't generate my own magic but can siphon it from other magically beings and items including my own vampirism"
Rose gives a surprised look "seriously? You can do magic? Shut up? Really? Can you show me please..?" Rose begs her.
Thea laughs a little "Yeah sure, I can show you something simple" She thinks for a moment and turns to the doctor "do you have a pillow with feathers in it?" He gives her a quizzical look before he turns down the Tardis corridor before returning with a pillow and passes it to her and she take it off him, Rose comes closer excited.
Thea rips it and empties it of the feathers, the doctor and Rose look confused at what she's doing "what are you..." Thea shushes him and he trails off as he watches her, she closes her eyes and concentrates and starts to levitate a feather in front of them both. Then she levitates several more, until all the feathers are floating about the three of them, Rose watches on with shock and amazement and even though the doctor has seen her use magic in the painting he can't help but think that Thea really would make an excellent companion to have on adventures with them.
"Okay that is seriously cool, wait you also said you were a vampire and werewolf... so what else can you do? Do you drink blood?" Rose asks her curiously.
"Most werewolves shift in to wolf form in a full moon, but as I'm not tied to the full moon no longer now that I'm a full Tribrid I can shift whenever, and yes I drink blood... does that bother you both..?" Thea asks them a little nervous.
They both shake their heads "I think you are cool" Rose tells her reassuringly, "I'm not one to judge another species, I just ask you not to well hurt anyone, I can have the Tardis provide you sufficient blood" The doctor interjects into the conversation.
"Okay what about crucifixes, holy water ... um the sun etc? The things you see in movies that affect vampires?" Rose continues to question curiously.
The doctor chuckles at the amount of questions Rose is asking and Thea gives her a look of amusement "well let's see Crucifixes are decorative...holy water is drinkable, no reflection in the mirrors Is a myth and garlic can be eaten... the sun still burns but as I'm a Tribrid, the sun isn't a problem for me anymore"
Rose nods and goes to ask more stuff and the doctor stops her knowing how curious Rose can get, if he lets her keep talking, they will end up here all day "okay let's get this first adventure started!" He slams his hand down on a button on the console enthusiastically and the engines hum loudly.
Rose laughs a little at his quick shut down of her questions before saying to him "alright fine, let's go!" He beams positively at the two girls and presses another button before throwing down a lever and the Tardis starts to wheeze.
Rose bounds closer to him "So where are we going?"
"Oh just the very best first trip ever!" The doctor tell them excitedly.
"Uh huh and where's that.?" Thea asks him amused at his childish excitement. "Oh..." The doctor trails off looking at Thea's face at the anticipation on it "oh only somewhere further than I've ever taken Rose before!"
