Ozpin has seen many things in his long life. He had made many mistakes more than any person alive. He had discovered and rediscovered many things but now. The headmaster of Beacon Academy watched the scene in front of him.
Jaune Arc panted heavily, his school uniform top clung to his body as he finished the ritual. He had finished the ritual in time. But from the looks of it, it took a lot out of him.
Rituals were tricky things, requiring a lot of trial and error to create, and even more preparation to do. Watching his student call upon a dagger with golden accents, the Headmaster watched with curiosity as Mr. Arc pressed the edge of his palm. A ritualistic sacrifice?
Words in the form of an unknown language danced from his lips and the audience could only watch in awe as the ritual commenced. Jaune Arc, one of the best students of their class by pure experience alone, performed a ritual. Magic is real.
It has long been hidden but not forgotten.
Even after so long, the sight of such rituals brought him a sense of childlike wonder. How will it work? What will be needed to be done? Are there any more steps to be done needed? Etc.
Turned his attention to one Sofya Obertas, a mage of high quality that he had personally taught currently knelt on the ground with her Dragon tool enhancing her magical abilities to match with Mr. Arc. Soft prayers left her lips in contrast to the chants that her counterpart used.
The soft voice of his apprentice and the calm, confident whispers of his student meshed in a song.
It was beautiful, a pair of different concerts yet harmonizing together. Rituals of light, for healing, and of darkness for sealing. Yin and Yang. Balance.
Reality cracked and swirled open as Mr. Arc clutched a purple orb in his left, unblooded hand and aimed it by his side.
Ozpin, formerly Ozma, the great mage, held his staff. Magic capable of tearing through reality is rare and often highly dangerous in wrong (right) hands. Calling upon the remnants of his magic, time started to heed his command.
A skeletal beast similar to a crocodile bounded from the portal. A familiar of sorts? It stood at the same size as a crouching Mr. Arc. The reptilian beast reeked of necromancy, a dark art involving the raising of the dead to one's bidding. Black scales, patched together through magic with a set of bones acting as a sort of shell or armor. Electricity danced around its form as it scanned the area.
"Wuuthrad, come," Jaune's voice caught the beast's attention and the reptilian creature moved quickly towards the side of young Mr. Arc. The electricity in the air intensified as the beast approached Mr. Arc before curling around him like a sort of seat. A lone bloody han caressed the skull-helm of the beast with gentle fondness as the Blonde's fingers moved through the seems and towards the exposed flesh. "I missed you too, but we have a ritual to do,"
Opening its mouth to reveal teeth capable of tearing through steel with ease, the reptilian beast opened its mouth to reveal a healthy-looking tongue that extended for a few feet.
A set of gems bloomed from its tongue and for a split-second, the entire room shook as a dark, foreboding aura surrounded Mr. Arc at the sight of such things. How could Mr. Arc, one of the more pacifistic students outside of combat show such a face? His familiar, one that showed eagerness and joy at the sight of him stood still in place. The audience, who watched in silent wonder, all found themselves clinging to the wall with wide eyes and sweat falling from their bodies.
Looking at his assistant, Deputy Headmistress Glynda Goodwitch, he saw the look of pain in her eyes. At that moment, they both noticed the pain of loss, regret, and sorrow that most hunters carried.
A soft hum echoed in the room as Numerous patterns flowed from the ground in the pattern of a lotus flower. Impressive, the headmaster could see the way how two different systems of magic harmonized and supported each other as Mr Arc summoned forth several pedestals and the Reptillian Beast stuck its tongue out to put a massive crystal on the center
"Mr. Arc!" Sofya's voice broke him from his trance. Seeing his apprentice gently hold the heavily breathing Mr. Arc-
"I'm fine!" Mr. Arc said as he stood in place while the Reptillian Beast nudged his leg. "I just got my Magicka drained, I'm good!" True to his words, Mr. Arc stood tall and glowed with a slight sheen. "Man, it feels good to let loose every once in a while!"
"Rawr!" The reptilian beast roared in approval. Lightning danced around its spines and scales. A symphony of magic and storm struck the pedestals and the crystal.
"It's done!" Mr. Arc Shouted the moment the light show stopped and the once great beast now only matched the size of a corgi. "Thank you, Wuuthrad," Jaune said with a smile as he removed his sweat-drenched button-up shirt, revealing the sleeveless shirt he wore underneath that revealed a scarred set of arms ranging from cuts to burns and lightning scars of some sort. The most eye-catching one was one that spanned the entirety of his left arm similar to lightning strikes with some tattoos designing it such as the Hourglass on his left shoulder The Reptile released some noises and jumped on his shoulder.
'Magical misfire,' Ozpin noted at the numerous lightning, burn, and frostbite scars on his hands, 'Mr. Arc favours lightning spells more,'
"Oh, dear!" Sofya whispered at the sight of scars. They were numerous and covered his left arm the most as if it were some sort of canvas. Gentle hands reached for the scars- before stopping. Ozpin saw her staff, Zaht, glowed gently.
"Dragons, huh?" Mr. Arc whispered with a calm, serene smile as the light danced around him.
He who rules the storms,
Jaune Arc sat on a chair with Wuuthrad, his own Necromantic Wamasu, a project from his worm cult days, slept on his shoulder. Dressed in a new dress shirt, Jaune looked at some of his older scars. They looked more faded, more completely healed. The healing light of the Dragon staff was similar but a LOT weaker than the Avatar of Akatosh he had once seen, yet...
Gazing at his left arm, the pain that once danced on it was now gone. The scars, a symbol of his stupidity and youth, were a result of a spell he tried to use that was too advanced for his skill.
The blood and pain as he used the spell to destroy a Daedroth, a reptilian beast taller than a man, got close to him while he removed the sigil stone. It had healed well but his left arm had been permanently damaged and it only retained around 75% of its efficiency and effectiveness. But now, the healing made it to 100%. Pooling magicka in his left arm, he shaped it into the form of storms.
Lightning covered his entire fist, perfectly contained as the sound of a thousand chirping birds echoed in the room connected to the one where Eula, Weiss, and Ruby were.
"Woah!" Nora shouted in shock as she looked at the lightning-encased fist. It was perfectly contained in his left arm.
"So that's magic," Yang whispered as she looked at the lightning in her fellow Blonde's hand.
"Tch! My control is off." Jaune whispered as he dispersed the Lightning after noticing how some strands of lightning poured out of his fist.
"A lightning mage?" Sofya Obertas asked as she looked at him. It reminded her of her friend Elizaveta and her Viralt.
"Well, I am something of an electromancer myself," Jaune replied with a smile as the Wamasu curled itself around his shoulders like a scarf. "This here is Wuuthrad. One of my familiars," Jaune said as the Wamasu looked at her.
Noticing the light of her staff, Lightning crackled from the Wamasu. Hissing at the light, the young Blonde sighed as Sofya stepped away. Words from an unknown language to anyone but him and his familiar flowed from his lips. Hearing this, the Reptile stopped hissing but kept its glare.
"Sorry about that," Jaune said as he lowered the lizard to the ground. "Go to Nora, my apprentice,"
The lizard nodded as it turned to the size of a dog and walked towards Nora.
"Hello, Wu-wu!" Nora greeted with a grin at the bone-armored lizard. Surprised by the lack of fear from the girl, the Wamasu looked past Nora and saw the uneasy looks from the others and back at the pink bomber.
Willing to know more about the girl Wuuthrad sat on its hind legs and looked at Nora before showing its teeth. Razor-sharp rows of pearly white fangs meant for ripping apart living things.
"Aww, he's so cute!" Nora shouted with a smile as she hugged the poor Undead reptile, cracking bits and pieces of its bone armor. Still, the reptile did not react as it looked at the poor girl.
"Sorry about that, Wuuthrad's nature makes him apprehensive of holy spells," Jaune said with an apologetic smile. The secret of his familiar, an undead creature that he had created and reanimated during his time undercover in the order of the Black Worm. It is an order of necromancers and with them, he learned the fundamentals and art of soul magic and Necromancy. Other than his specialty of Alteration, his second-best specialty lies in necromancy. Wuuthrad was special, he was an ordinary Wamasu that he was given during his time undercover and he raised him.
Wuuthrad has saved his life countless times and when he died, Jaune reanimated him. Not after doing countless modifications that the Wamasu had approved of. Bound to his being, Jaune knew that he would never be alone. In fact, during his death match with Mannimarco, Wuuthrad played a significant role by protecting him as he countered the spells thrown to him by the mortal avatar of the God of necromancers. He even helped during the final battle against Umaril after turning large enough to crush the numerous reviving Aurorans that littered the entire Ayleid ruins.
The young Master Wizard/Archmage of the Arcane University smiled at how Wuuthrad became more relaxed around Nora.
'It's only natural since he has parts of my soul with him,' Jaune thought before frowning as he felt something off. Looking at his comrades-in-arms. 'Damn it, I messed up!'
"Step back!" Nora shouted, grabbing all near her fast enough to take them away. The temperature around the room skyrocketed A storm of flames erupted and embraced the divine Crusader like a cloak or a set of armor.
At the same time, a barrier of light and green-colored shield, contained the Blonde while Sofya fell to her knees. Headmaster Ozpin gritted his teeth as he tapped into Long Memory's reserve to power his ward.
The sudden increase in temperature made most that were too close to fall to their knees or be blown away except Glynda Goodwitch. A loud shriek of pain erupted from the flames as a small serpentine creature flew towards the wards only to disintegrate the moment it got an inch away from the Blonde by the flames.
Out of the flames walked Jaune Arc, a cold look in his blue eyes as he looked at the ashes of the Nightmare that tried to invade his mind. Only Nora had seen this look on his face before and it scared her. The dark look her kind fearless leader had on his face was too different and she knew, that all those who fought him like that would kill them.
Fighting through her fear, The ginger looked at her leader and mentor. "Is that bad?" She asked, carefully watching her team leader who passed through Headmaster Ozpin's barrier.
"No, but I think my mind is a bit compromised... it was burrowing through my mind when I found it," He whispered with a gentle tone. A firm yet gentle hand landed on her head. "I'm fine, sorry for scaring you, Nora," The Blonde whispered and Nora grinned at him.
"Well, I want pancakes! A lot of them!" Nora said with a grin. Having been under the tutelage of the blonde, she had developed a lot of resistance to his antics.
"Sure! I can cook some up!" Jaune said with a smile as he looked at Nora.
"Mr. Arc, please don't do that again," Ozpin said, gesturing to their friends who looked at him with wide eyes,
"Oops!"
Hey guys! I am back baby! College is kicking my ass lol!
Anyway, Rosterteeth is done huh? It's over. Well, of course not! I hope someone who cares will buy RWBY and continue or revamp the series. Couple that with Mattpat retiring from Game theory and the sad news of Akira Toriyama's death cracked my shattered heart and soul. My favorite Dragonball scene was during Z kai's cell games Opening where Gohan is standing there like a badass!
Sorry for the late update. I will do my best to update my fics hehe! I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. Have a nice day! Stay safe!
