Chapter 4: The Oni's Screams.

Apologies for the misunderstanding. Here's the revised version, with the lyrics integrated into the story for a musical accompaniment:

Rem's heart pounded in her chest as she ran through the dimly lit corridors of the Roswaal mansion. Fear coursed through her veins like icy tendrils, gripping her tight and refusing to let go. Her mind raced with questions, trying to make sense of the impossible. How was Subaru alive? How could he have survived her attack?

But there was no time for answers, only the urgent need to escape. Rem couldn't afford to be caught by Subaru, not when he was like this, not when he was a true demon.

As she ran, the faint sound of a haunting melody filled the air, sending shivers down her spine. It was a tune she had never heard before, a melody that seemed to seep into her very soul and fill her with dread. It echoed through the halls, growing louder with each step she took, each beat of her frantic heart.

And then, she heard his voice.

"Ding Dong, Ding Dong, where could you be?

I'll find you, I'll catch you, wait and see.

Ding Dong, Ding Dong, don't try to hide,

I'll seek you out; I'll find you with nowhere to abide."

Subaru's voice echoed through the mansion, his words dripping with malice and menace. Rem's breath caught in her throat as she realized the true horror of the situation. Subaru was playing a deadly game of hide and seek, and she was the prey.

Her steps faltered as she stumbled into a darkened room, her heart pounding in her ears. Subaru's presence loomed behind her, and a cold dread settled in the pit of her stomach.

And then, he appeared before her, his eyes burning with an unholy light. Rem recoiled in terror, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she stared into the abyss of his gaze.

"Rem," Subaru said, his voice low and menacing. "There's no need to be afraid. Fear is a delicious scent, one that fills the air with its sweet aroma."

Rem's eyes widened in horror as Subaru stepped closer, his grin widening into a twisted smile.

"Do you smell it, Rem?" Subaru whispered, his voice sending chills down her spine. "The scent of your fear is so pure and intoxicating. It's like music to my ears."

Rem's hands trembled as she tried to back away, but there was nowhere to run or hide. She was trapped in this nightmare, with Subaru as her tormentor.

And then, the melody started again, filling the room with its haunting refrain.

"Ding Dong, Ding Dong, the game has begun,

I'll find you, I'll catch you, and then we'll have some fun.

Ding Dong, Ding Dong, don't try to flee,

I'll hunt you down, I'll find you, you'll never be free."

Subaru's voice echoed through the room, his words a chilling promise of the horrors to come. Rem could feel the darkness closing in around her, suffocating her with its oppressive weight.

But even in the depths of her fear, Rem refused to give up hope. She would find a way to escape this nightmare, to break free from Subaru's twisted game.

For she was Rem, the blue-haired maid of the Roswaal mansion, and she would not be defeated by fear.

As the haunting melody filled the room, Rem's mind raced with desperate thoughts. She needed to find a way out, to escape the clutches of this nightmare before it consumed her completely.

But as she searched for an exit, she found herself trapped in an endless maze of corridors, each one darker and more foreboding than the last. Shadows danced along the walls, twisting and contorting into grotesque shapes that seemed to taunt her with their malevolence.

And all the while, Subaru's voice echoed through the darkness, his words like a sinister lullaby that sent shivers down her spine.

"Ding Dong, Ding Dong, I hear your breath,

Don't try to run; don't try to hide; there's no escape from death.

Ding Dong, Ding Dong, your time is near,

I'll find you, I'll catch you, and fill your heart with fear."

Rem's pulse quickened as she pressed on, her footsteps echoing through the empty halls. She could feel Subaru's presence looming behind her, a dark shadow that threatened to consume her whole.

But she refused to give in to despair. With every step she took, she felt a flicker of hope ignite within her heart. She would find a way out of this nightmare, no matter the cost.

And then, just when all seemed lost, she stumbled upon a faint glimmer of light at the end of a long, dark corridor. With renewed determination, Rem raced towards it, her heart pounding in her chest as she prayed for salvation.

But as she reached the source of the light, her hope turned to horror. For standing before her was not an exit, but Subaru himself, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent.

"Ding Dong, Ding Dong, did you think you could escape?"

Subaru's voice echoed through the chamber, his words dripping with contempt.

Rem's breath caught in her throat as she realized the truth. There was no escape from this nightmare, no way to outrun the darkness that threatened to consume her whole.

But even as despair threatened to overwhelm her, Rem refused to give up hope. She would fight until her last breath, until the bitter end.

For she was Rem, the protector, and maid of the Roswaal mansion, and she would never surrender to fear.

As Rem lunged forward, driven by desperation and fear, her sister Ram intercepted her, blocking her path with an imposing presence. Rem recoiled in shock at the sight of her sister's transformed form, her horn shining brightly in the darkness and her eyes burning like coals in a fire.

"Ram, what has he done to you?" Rem's voice quivered with fear and disbelief as she stared at her sister, unable to comprehend the change that had come over her.

But Ram's response was not one of comfort or reassurance. Instead, she spoke in a voice that sent chills down Rem's spine—cold and calculating, devoid of the warmth and affection she once knew.

"I have been reborn, Rem," Ram's words dripped with malice as she approached her sister, her horn casting eerie shadows across the walls. "Subaru-sama has granted me a new purpose, a new destiny. And now, I offer you the chance to join us, to embrace the darkness and serve our master."

Rem's heart sank as she realized the truth. Her sister, her closest ally and confidante, had been twisted and corrupted by Subaru's dark influence. And now, she stood before Rem as a servant of evil, a shadow of her former self.

But even as fear threatened to consume her, Rem refused to succumb to despair. She would not abandon her sister to this darkness, not without a fight.

"Ram, please," Rem's voice trembled with emotion as she reached out to her sister, her eyes pleading for her to see reason. "This isn't you. You're stronger than this. You don't have to serve Subaru-sama. You can break free from his control and reclaim your true self."

But Ram's response was a chilling silence, her red eyes glinting with malice as she stared at her sister with unbridled hatred. At that moment, Rem knew that she was truly alone, trapped in a nightmare from which there was no escape.

But even as darkness threatened to consume her, Rem refused to give up hope. She would fight until her last breath when she had freed her sister from Subaru's dark influence and restored light to the world once more.

As the sisters' battle unfolded in the dark, twisted dimension created by Subaru's powers, Rem's desperation grew with each passing moment. She tried to reason with her sister to break through the darkness that had consumed her, but Ram remained steadfast in her loyalty to Subaru-sama, her new master.

With a heavy heart, Rem attempted to attack Subaru, but Ram swiftly intervened, her movements swift and precise. In a flash of dark energy, Ram sliced through Rem's weapon, the Morningstar, rendering it useless. Rem gasped in shock as she stumbled backward, her legs sliced open by Ram's ruthless assault.

Pain seared through Rem's body as she cried out into the darkness, her voice echoing off the walls of the eerie dimension. Blood pooled around her feet as she struggled to stand, her vision swimming with agony and despair.

But even as darkness threatened to consume her, Rem refused to give up. With sheer willpower, she pushed herself to her feet and limped away from her sister and Subaru, her mind racing with thoughts of escape.

As she stumbled through the darkness, Rem's eyes caught sight of a faint glimmer of light in the distance. Hope surged within her chest as she realized that she was nearing the stairs and the entrance to the mansion.

A new song floated through the air, its haunting melody filling Rem's ears with a sense of courage and determination. The lyrics echoed in her mind, urging her to keep fighting and never to give up hope.

"In the darkest night, when all seems lost,

Hold on tight, no matter the cost.

For in the end, the light will shine,

And darkness fades with the passage of time."

With renewed strength, Rem pushed forward, her heart pounding in her chest as she reached for the door to the mansion. Horror lurked around every corner, but she refused to let fear control her.

With one final burst of energy, Rem threw open the door and stumbled out into the night, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she collapsed on the ground outside. But even as she lay there, battered and broken, a glimmer of hope remained in her eyes, a determination to keep fighting until the darkness was banished once and for all.

Gasping for air, Rem struggled to move from her spot on the ground, her body wracked with pain and exhaustion. The moon, once a beacon of hope, now hung in the sky like a blood-red eye, casting an eerie glow over the scene.

Laughter echoed through the air, mocking and cruel, as memories of Rem's most hated moments emerged from the darkness. The voices taunted her, ridiculed her, and insulted her, each word cutting deeper than the last.

Tears welled in Rem's eyes as she tried to block out the voices, to push past the pain and despair that threatened to consume her. But even as she fought to stay strong, a shadow fell over her, casting her into darkness once more.

Looking up, Rem saw her sister standing above her, her form illuminated by the crimson light of the moon. Ram's horn glowed brightly, her red eyes burning like coals in the night.

"Rem," Ram's cold and commanding voice rang out, her tone chilling as she began to sing in a haunting melody:

"Count the ways you'll suffer, sister dear,

Each torment is a symphony, crystal clear.

Tell me now, how shall you meet your end,

In pain and torment, forever to descend?"

Rem's heart sank at her sister's words, the weight of her decision pressing down on her like a leaden weight. She knew that if she refused, there would be no mercy, no escape from the darkness that had consumed her sister.

But even as fear threatened to overwhelm her, Rem's resolve remained unbroken. With a steely gaze, she looked up at her sister and spoke, her voice trembling but defiant.

"I will never betray my beliefs nor abandon those I hold dear," Rem declared, her words ringing out into the night. "No matter what darkness may come, I will stand firm in the light."

With those words, Rem braced herself for whatever fate awaited her, knowing that she would face it with courage and determination. The night may hear her screams, but it would also bear witness to her strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

As the night was filled with the chilling screams of the Oni, no one heard Rem's desperate cries for help. She was alone, trapped in a nightmare from which there seemed to be no escape.

Subaru watched the spectacle with a twisted grin, reveling in the chaos and destruction he had caused. To him, it was all just entertainment, another game in which he held all the power.

Ram's chilling melody continued as she leaned closer to Rem, her red eyes gleaming with sadistic delight. "Tell me, sister, dear, how shall I make you suffer? Shall I tear you limb from limb, or perhaps something more... creative?"

Rem's breath caught in her throat as Ram's words sent shivers down her spine. She knew her sister was capable of unimaginable cruelty, and now, with her torment at hand, Rem braced herself for the worst.

Ram's voice dripped with malice as she outlined each torturous possibility, her lyrics cutting through the air like a blade:

"Count the ways, each one designed

To break your spirit, body, and mind.

Shall I start with fire, burning bright,

Or maybe darkness, endless night?"

With each verse, Ram enacted her twisted fantasies upon Rem, each method more agonizing than the last. Flames licked at Rem's skin, searing her flesh with unbearable pain, while shadows enveloped her, suffocating her in an abyss of terror.

Wind sliced her skin as more of the Oni's blood continued to spill on the grass until Rem felt herself being placed on a cross as Ram continued to enjoy torturing her sister. Through it all, Rem clung to her defiance, refusing to give her sister the satisfaction of seeing her break. But as the torture continued, her resolve began to waver, her screams joining the cacophony of suffering that filled the night.

Subaru watched with sick fascination, his grin widening as Rem's torment unfolded before him. To him, it was a symphony of pain, a masterpiece of suffering crafted by him for his amusement as he enjoyed the performance of his new Demon.

And as Ram's cruel melody reached its crescendo, Rem's mind finally shattered, her spirit broken beyond repair. In that moment of triumph, Ram reveled in her victory, her laughter mingling with the agonized cries of her sister.

Alone in the darkness, Rem's shattered consciousness drifted into oblivion, consumed by the darkness that had claimed her. And in the cold embrace of night, her torment would continue, a never-ending nightmare from which there would be no awakening.

Approaching Rem with a finger pistol, Subaru's smile widened as he looked down at her, his eyes glinting with malice. "You are now mine," he declared, his voice dripping with cruelty.

With a flick of his wrist, Subaru unleashed his Bang technique, sending a deadly projectile hurtling towards Rem's forehead. In her final moments, Rem's thoughts were consumed by regret and despair.

"I failed," she whispered in her mind, her voice filled with anguish. "I failed to stop the monster, the witch cultist. I failed my sister, my family..."

As Subaru's attack struck true, Rem's consciousness faded, and her last thoughts were a silent apology to those she had sworn to protect. In her mind, she begged for forgiveness, knowing that she had fallen short of the promises she had made.

And as the darkness closed in around her, Rem's spirit drifted into the void, leaving behind only echoes of her pain and regret.

As Subaru and Ram remained in the dimension created by Subaru's Eternity Devil powers, Subaru proceeded with his plan to revive Rem using his blood. With a swift motion, he pierced his hand, allowing his blood to flow freely and enter Rem's lifeless body.

As the crimson fluid made contact with Rem's skin, her body began to glow with an otherworldly light. Slowly but surely, her wounds began to heal, and her features underwent a startling transformation.

Her once pale complexion took on a darker hue, her skin now tinged with a faint shade of blue. Long, pointed horns emerged from her forehead, mirroring the demonic features of her sister. Her eyes, once filled with fear and despair, now burned with a fiery intensity, glowing like embers in the darkness.

As the last traces of Subaru's blood infused with Rem's, her transformation was complete. The new Rem opened her eyes, her gaze now filled with unwavering loyalty and devotion.

She bowed before Subaru, her movements graceful and fluid. "My master," she spoke, her voice echoing with a newfound confidence. "I pledge my undying loyalty to you, Subaru Natsuki, Demon King."

Subaru looked upon his creation with satisfaction, knowing that he had succeeded in his goal. "Rise, Rem," he commanded, his voice commanding and authoritative. "You are now a true Oni, bound to serve not only me but also your sister, Ram."

Rem rose to her feet, her posture poised and dignified. "Thank you, my master," she replied, her voice filled with reverence. "I will serve you faithfully until the end of days."

With his new demon servant by his side, Subaru felt a surge of power coursing through his veins. With Ram and Rem at his command, he was ready to conquer this world and fulfill his destiny as the Demon King.

With his newfound allies, Subaru stood tall within the confines of the dimension he had created, his eyes gleaming with determination and ambition. "Ram, Rem," he addressed them, his voice commanding yet tinged with a hint of satisfaction. "Our next step is to destroy this dimension and return to the Roswaal Mansion. From there, we will begin our preparations for the coming days."

Ram and Rem nodded in unison, their loyalty unwavering as they followed Subaru's orders without question. With a wave of his hand, Subaru unleashed his dark powers, tearing through the fabric of the dimension and collapsing it upon itself until nothing remained but darkness.

As they stepped out into the moonlit forest, Subaru's mind raced with thoughts of the future. He knew that his path was fraught with danger and uncertainty, but he also knew that he possessed the power and cunning to overcome any obstacle that stood in his way.

As they traversed through the woods, they soon encountered Elsa and Meili, two figures whose presence sent shivers down Subaru's spine. But he masked his unease with a confident smile as he approached them.

"Greetings, ladies," Subaru greeted them with a charming demeanor. "I trust all is well?"

Elsa and Meili exchanged a glance before responding, their voices dripping with malice. "All is as it should be, Subaru-sama," Elsa replied, her tone laced with menace. "But we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our 'Mother' at the Roswaal Mansion. What happened while you were in the mansion? Have the maids begun to suspect you?"

"No. The blue-haired one believed I was part of that ridiculous little cult that thinks their Archbishops are tough shit, and yet they have no idea who are the real ones in control. I have taken both of them under my wing, and they now serve me with their absolute loyalty and will do anything I say, which means we now have a mole for the mansion, and who better than the maids that take care of the mansion and aid the master of the said mansion?

As the conversation continued, Subaru's mind buzzed with plans and schemes, his eyes alight with the thrill of the game. For in this dark and twisted world, Subaru knew that he held the power to shape its destiny, to mold it into his image and rule as its supreme ruler.

As the moon cast its eerie glow upon the forest, Subaru whispered a silent promise to himself: he would stop at nothing to achieve his ultimate goal, to create a world where his people and the world could coexist. A Utopia where the people of his kingdom bow before him in reverence and gratitude for eternal glory under the rule of the Demon King, for in the end, victory would be his, and all would bow before the might of the Demon King.
