I LIVE BITCHES! Sorry I haven't updated in forever, my inspiration has been gone until recently.
Darkness and Light, Into the Chaos!
Sora was walking to class with Jaden and Syrus, laughing. "Seriously? A tennis match to be Alexis's fiancée?" the redheaded wind duelist asked.
"Had to explain I already had a girlfriend to get him to finally back off." Jaden replied with a long-suffering sigh.
"Damn straight you do. No one takes you from me." Yubel huffed.
"Sorry I missed it." Sora chuckled.
"It was something to see alright." Syrus chuckled. "Too bad it was all because of Crowler being a jerk again."
"How he became a teacher is beyond me." Sora sighed as he opened the door, allowing his friends into class.
"But anyway, how goes the hunt?" Jaden asked, noting now quickly Sora's face darkened. "That bad, huh?"
"For someone who's supposed to be a giant, the guy can sure vanish into the night." he complained.
...
In his office, Crowler was panicking. Whoever this Duel Giant was, he was humiliating the Obelisks! They were the future of this academy! And no one could stop him! He needed a plan, and fast. "I need to find a way out of this, or I'll be fired!" he groaned, entering the class and seeing Jaden and friends taking their seats. Wait, if I get Jaden in on this, I can kill two birds with one stone! Crowler thought with an evil chuckle.
...
"So Crowler plans to have you hunt down the giant?" Sora asked later that day as they were headed to the arenas.
"Yup. Says if I find the guy and beat him, I won't have homework for the rest of the year." Jaden replied with a goofy chuckle.
"This is obviously a trap." Yubel noted with a sigh.
"Yeah, but I was gonna help Sora hunt for the guy anyway and take him to Shepard." the Hero duelist replied with a shrug. "Besides, how am I supposed to say no to a big field trip, potentially no homework, and a big duel?"
"This guy is mine, Jaden." Sora growled
"Hey guys, check it out! There's a duel going on!" Syrus pointed out.
Sora and Jaden took a look. It was between an Obelisk and, "Isn't that Briar?" Sora asked.
"It is. And it seems his stage fright is getting the better of him again." Bastion noted, coming up next to them.
"Kind of a puny guy, ain't he?" Jaden wondered aloud before feeling a whack over his head. "Yubel!"
"That was insensitive and you know it." the demon guardian before looking at Brier's hand. "Earthquake. If he plays it, he wins." she noted.
Sora shook his head. "He won't. Briar's a great duelist, but his main problem is a massive case of stage fright." he explained, growling at the taunting from the Obelisk and his buddies.
"I-I attack!" Briar called, shocking Jaden and Syrus and making their Ra Yellow companions sigh. The Obelisk used his trap card and the small boy lost. Thus began the taunting from the snobby Obelisks.
But Jaden watched Briar and saw something, hearing a chirp next to him. "I'm with you, buddy." he muttered to Winged Kuriboh. Watching Briar leave, he hummed. "Check out the kid's pal. He's enormous."
"Bulregard is not the Duel Giant." Sora said firmly. "He may have the size, but he's a designer, not a duelist."
"Indeed. I don't think I've ever even seen him duel." Bastion agreed.
Still. Sora thought. "Egul." he muttered, his bird spirit flying after them. There's something I'm missing.
...
Later that night, Sora met with Jaden, Syrus, and Chummly, tuning out their arguing until hearing a scream. "Let's move." he snapped, sliding on his duel disk and running in the direction of the scream like he had been doing the past couple nights. "Boost Accel!" he called, wind swirling around him and increasing his speed. This time, he slid into view, seeing the Duel Giant himself reaching down. "Hands off the card." he demanded.
"I have no business with you, Ra. Leave now." the Giant replied.
"Not a chance." Sora replied, wind swirling around him. "Had you just been beating these snobs, I would gladly let you go. But taking a duelist's card is taking a piece of their soul. I will stop you. By force if necessary."
"You will not stop me. I'm leaving." The Giant replied, turning to leave only to see the Slifer trio blocking his way.
"Either duel me and leave if you win, or duel all of us and be overwhelmed."
"Very well. Let us begin if it means I will continue my mission." the Giant sighed, activating his Duel Disk.
Sora did the same, both calling "Duel!"
Sora:4000
Duel Giant:4000
"I'll make the first move." Sora declared drawing his card. "Not bad. First I play Card Trader. Now each Standby Phase, I can shuffle a card into my deck and draw a new one. And speaking of drawing, I think I'll draw two with Pot of Greed." he said, playing the spell card and drawing two cards, one making him smile. "I play two cards facedown and summon Familiar Possessed-Wynn!" he declared, "Welcome to the game, my dear." as his girlfriend appeared(ATK:1850). "I end my turn. Your move."
"And the beginning of the end for you." The Giant replied, drawing. "I summon Giant Orc." he declared, the monstrous creature letting out a low moan as it appeared(ATK:2200).
"Powerful, but not unstoppable." Jaden noted. "Especially since when he attacks, he switches to defense mode and has a grand total of zero defense points."
Unless he has THAT card, that is. Sora thought...then gasped. Why didn't I see it before?
The Duel Giant proceeded with his turn. "Giant Orc! Attack with Bone Basher!"
"Activate Quick Play Spell! Go Ego Boost!" Sora declared. "Now Wynn gains some much needed confidence, and 1000 attack to boot!" he explained, Wynn's perpetually nervous expression morphing into a confident smirk(ATK:1850-2850). "Wynn! Counterattack! Storm Caller Strike!" he ordered, Wynn's staff raising as her familiar charged at Giant Orc with a gust of wind, destroying it.
Duel Giant:4000-3350
"I play Monster Reborn in order to resurrect my Giant Orc!" the Giant said, his monster reappearing. "I also equip him with Second Goblin." he declared, putting the monster in the spell slot.
"Hold on, why did he play that Monster like that?" Syrus asked.
"Once per turn, he can keep my Orc on offense." the Giant explained.
Smirking confidently himself, he asked, "You're gonna have to do better than that...Bulregard. You and Briar both."
Yubel gasped behind Jaden. "Of course! The Obelisk from before was from the arena today! And while Briar has the skill, Bulregard has the mass!" she realized.
A rustling in the bushes was all they needed to see Briar stepping out. "How?"
"Simple." Sora replied, pointing at the two monsters. "A duelist with stage fright commanding the powerhouse with his tactics."
"Tch. Well it doesn't matter. Nothing is over yet." Briar growled. "I'm not about to go home and be little Briar again. Everyone making fun of me, mocking me, no one showing me any respect."
"Oh grow up." Sora scoffed, making Syrus and Chummly gasp at how unconcerned he was. Jaden and Yubel, however, were nodding along
"Excuse me?" Briar snarled.
"Like I said before, knock them down a peg, I would have let you keep going. But even then, you're nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum. You speak of respect, but you have no idea what you're talking about. Respect is earned. And frankly, you need to remember this is a school. There are teachers, a headmaster. Talk to them, get some help. This? This is pathetic." Sora snapped, drawing. "I use the effect of my Card Trader. I can return my Harpie Lady 2 and draw a new card." he explained, doing just that and smirking. "I have no monsters in my graveyard, so I can summon Guardian Eatos!" he declared, his ace monster appearing(ATK:2500). "Then I play Block Attack to switch your Orc to defense mode!" he added.
"Not good." Briar muttered. "Second Goblin can't switch Giant Orc to attack mode unless it's on our turn." he looked at Giant Orc, who had taken a knee(DEF:0)
"Wynn! Storm Caller Strike!" Sora ordered, Wynn blowing away Second Goblin off Giant Orc's back.
"Hold on, why did the little guy get destroyed?" Chummly asked curiously.
"When Giant Orc is attacked while equipped with Second Goblin, the Union monster is destroyed first." Jaden explained. "But now there's nothing to save Giant Orc."
"Eatos! Attack with Guardian Fist!" Sora roared, his ace destroying the Orc. "Your move, Duel Giant."
Jumping onto Bulregard's shoulders, Briar looked over the cards after his large friend drew. "I summon Goblin King in attack mode!" the goblin appeared(ATK:0). "And now for every warrior monster I send to my graveyard, I get a half-goblin!" Bulregard threw out two cards and two more appeared:DEF:500). "Now for Goblin King's special ability! For every Fiend on the field, he gains 1000 attack and defense, and I have two!" The Goblin King roared as he flexed(ATK:2000)
"Activate Trap Card! Rakegki Break!" Sora snapped. "By throwing out a hand card, I can destroy your Goblin King!" his trap electrocuted the monster, making it shatter.
Briar growled. "I...end my turn."
"My draw." Sora declared, looking at his card. "I use the effect of Card Trader." he began, shuffling the card back in and drawing. "Alright. I play a card facedown and my monsters will destroy yours." he declared, the two half goblins going up in smoke. "Your turn."
Bulregard drew. Briar growled before calling, "I summon Big Shield Gardna in defense mode!" he declared, his efforts to stall apparant(DEF:2600). "And his defense is higher than anything you have."
"For now." Sora replied, drawing and smirking. "I won't be using Card Trader this time. I summon Harpie Lady 1!" he declared, the magnetta haired harpie appearing(ATK:1300). "And now for her special ability, and your end. My Harpie Lady 1 gives 300 attack to every Wind Monster on the field." he grinned, wind swirling as Harpie Lady 1(ATK:1300-1600), Wynn(ATK:1850-2150), and Eatos(ATK:2500-2800) all powered up.
"Oh no!" Briar gasped, looking at Bulregard. They had been outplayed, and they were doomed.
"Eatos! Take out Big Shield Gardna with Guardian Fist!" Sora ordered, his ace punching the shield with enough force to blow the monster to bits. "Harpie Lady 1! Harpie Talon!" he continued, his winged woman attacking with her claws.
Duel Giant:3350-1750
"Wynn, end it!" Sora ordered, Wynn holding up her staff with her familiar glaring at the pair of Ras. "Storm Caller Strike!" Pointing her staff at their adversaries, Bulregard and Briar were blown off their feet.
Duel Giant:1750-0
Sora took Wynn's hand, kissing her knuckles and making her blush before fading away. Turning to the Duel Giant pair, Sora looked down with all the intensity he could muster. "Now you two. Chancellor Shepard will decide your fate."
"Wait, just take me!" Bulregard pleaded.
"No, don't throw your future away for me, Bulregard!" Briar responded. "Take me, leave him out of it."
"I wouldn't worry too much, you guys." Jaden said, smiling. "Chancellor Shepard is an understanding guy. If you tell him the truth, he'll probably let you off easy."
"Which is why you would haul them to him instead of Crowler." Wynn noted playfully.
"You're both coming. Now come on." Sora declared.
...
"So it's a case of retaliation." Shepard hummed.
"These two vagrants broke one of the school's biggest rules! I want them expelled!" Crowler shrieked.
"Then you'd have to expel every duelist the Giant defeated." Sora shot back, glaring at the abusive teacher. "After all, they couldn't lose if they didn't play."
"He's right." Shepard agreed, also glaring at Crowler. "Not to mention you intentionally sent Jaden to beat the Duel Giant knowing this."
"That's nothing but slander! You have no proof!" Crowler huffed, making the students glare at him.
"We'll get to that another time." Shepard assured. "As for you four, you may leave. I and I alone will be deciding what to do with our Duel Giant." he assured, glaring at Crowler again and daring him to protest.
Crowler stormed out muttering to himself, Sora and co bowing with a smile as they left. "Whatever happens, I doubt we'll be hearing of the Duel Giant again." Jaden chuckled.
"No kidding. Sora destroyed them both without taking any damage." Chummly noted.
"Or losing a single monster." Syrus added. "Way to play."
"Thanks guys." Sora chuckled. Now that that's over, let's hope things calm down. he thought as they all headed for home for the night.
And done! Paging Mr Murphy, Paging Mr Murphy, your law has been invoked! But anyway, now that my inspiration is back, and I've been watching the show again, I hope to be working on this more in the coming weeks. Assuming work allows it now that I have a job. Anyway, leave a review with your thoughts and I'll see you all next time!
