AN: This was a really hard chapter to write and had me in tears. Does include a brutal SA scene.

Olivia and Elliot were tucked up in bed when they heard loud knocking at the door. Olivia startled awake as did Elliot; it was 4:00am in the morning and after the trial involving Megan, the girl who had been brutally assaulted had ended, the Commissioner had given the entire squad a week off and had arranged cover from the neighbouring boroughs. They were all so excited about this; this trial had completely taken it out of the entire squad and had taken over 3 months of all nighters, blood, sweat and tears... a lot of tears actually and this was supposed to be the start of their relaxing time off... well, they were going to try and relax anyway. Olivia got up out of bed, pulled on her dressing gown and frowned at the loud knocking on the door; this was never a good sign. She checked through the peephole and gasped audibly, flinging the door open.

"Sophia Louise Sanchez! Get in here now!" Olivia said softly but firmly, gently pulling the wasted 25 year old into the apartment and closed the door. She locked it behind her and frowned even more, hearing Sophia's drunken laughs. It was the way she was laughing that was bothering Olivia; it wasn't light hearted laughter or funny laughter, she was bordering on hysterical and it was clearly a mixture of crying and laughing.

"Hi Mama... uh I'm here!" Sophia was in such a state that she could barely string a sentence together and Olivia was not amused; she was worried about her baby. She had become her 'baby' pretty much since she first met her in her office but that had intensified ten fold since the first time Sophia had called her 'Mommy'.

"I know you're here, young lady! Whatever am I going to do with you?" Olivia said softly, running a hand through Sophia's long brown hair on a way that she knew she liked. The younger woman leaned her head into Olivia's touch and started hysterically laughing.

"You can just kick me out if you want Mama... I know I messed up!" Sophia slurred, letting out a squeak when Olivia scooped her up and put her in her lap. She pressed a kiss to Sophia's head, becoming alarmed at the way she was shaking.

"No one is kicking anyone out! Soph... I'm not angry at you; in fact I'm so damn proud of you for coming here after your night out. I'm so glad you came to Elliot and I..." She soothed the younger woman and spoke softly to her, both women jumped in surprise when they heard Elliot's sleepy voice.

"Liv... Sophia what's going on?" He gently bent down so he was at Sophia's level, gently brushing his knuckles against her cheek. Sophia shrugged her shoulders slightly and Olivia brushed a kiss to her forehead, gently whispering soothing words to her.

"I think this one is in need of some coffee El!" Olivia said affectionately, shifting her position so that Sophia was comfortably wrapped up in her arms. Elliot grinned ever so slightly; Olivia was such a good 'Mom' to Sophia. He quickly got up and switched the coffee pot on and got the mugs ready, he had a feeling that they were all going to need it.

After around 15 minutes or so Elliot reappeared clutching a tray full of coffee and three plates of grilled cheese sandwiches. Olivia smiled thankfully, they needed to calm Sophia down before they spoke to her again and this seemed like a good start. Elliot handed out the food and coffee, smiling encouragingly as Sophia began to eat and drink. She was slowly but surely sobering up and becoming more and more aware of her surroundings.

"Mama... Elliot I'm sorry! I just needed..." Sophia hiccuped slightly and Olivia hushed her, gently brushing her free hand through the young woman's hair.

"Shhh... don't be sorry. You are welcome here anytime, ok? Day or night!" Olivia cooed, keeping Sophia close to her chest and rocking back and forth. Elliot nodded in agreement and gently reached out to wipe some tears that fell from Sophia's eyes, wiping them so gently as if she was one of his own daughters. Sophia nuzzled into his touch, he was the only man to never ever hurt her or let her down.

"You're ok, sweetheart. What happened tonight? Where did you go? You can tell us... Mama and I won't be angry at you no matter what!" Elliot spoke gently and with so much love that Olivia began to smile indulgently, this was the man that she fell in love with! He was so kind, gentle and loving... immediately putting their 'baby' at ease.

"It's the anniversary of something bad happening to me... I just went out to this bar and got wasted. I just wanted the pain to stop... I just wanted it all to stop! I didn't mean to drink so much and I'm sorry!" Sophia hiccuped and Olivia stroked her cheek with her thumb and tucked the younger woman's head under her chin. She had a feeling where this was going and she swallowed thickly, Elliot on the other hand had no clue; both Olivia and Sophia hadn't told him anything about the assault that she had endured, the assault which had made dealing with Megan's case so hard. Olivia took the lead and pressed a motherly kiss to Sophia's nose.

"You can tell us, it's alright darling. Nothing can hurt you now, Mommy and Daddy are here..." Olivia cooed softly, this being the first time that Olivia had referred to Elliot by that name. Sophia blinked owlishly at the two older adults and hiccuped.

"Mommy and Daddy?" Sophia whispered hesitantly and that's when Elliot stepped in, gently sitting on the other side of Sophia and wrapping an arm around her. They both kept Sophia safe in their arms.

"That's right honey, Mommy and Daddy are here!" Elliot soothed, gently hugging her to his chest and tightening his arms around her when he heard her small voice.

"Daddy..." Sophia whimpered and Elliot's eyes filled with tears; that kid was wanting both him and Olivia to keep her safe, to be her parents when she hadn't had any and was wanting them to keep her safe.

"Shhh Daddy's here..." He cooed softly and they all stayed like that for a while, the pair of them comforting their baby until she was ready to speak again, safe in the arms of two people who genuinely loved her.

"When I was at school, I was really badly bullied. I was overweight, I had glasses, I was too 'smart' and I hadn't discovered hair products yet!" Sophia let out a bitter laugh and wiped at her eyes, both Elliot and Olivia frowned slightly. Getting angrier and angrier as Sophia continued.

"Mostly it was just name calling, they'd trip me up, take away my food... when I was 14 I got so badly beaten that I was in hospital for a week!" Sophia hid her face in Olivia's neck and hiccuped, gripping at her so tightly that her knuckles were white.

"It's ok... you're safe!" Olivia cooed, rubbing Sophia's back gently and pressing kisses to her face. Their poor baby! Olivia felt sick; she knew that it was about to get worse and the thought of something so disgusting happening to the young woman who'd become like a daughter to her was heartbreaking.

"Then 10 years ago today... I was in the library doing some of my advanced classes; I was graduating that year as I had been bumped up a few grades when I was younger..." Sophia hiccuped and Elliot smiled encouragingly, he had no idea where this was going and Olivia almost envied him for that.

"This guy that I had a crush on, James he was called uhm well he said that he wanted to meet me on the field after school. I should've known that it was a trap! I should've heard the way that everyone else was giggling in the library..." Sophia's eyes turned glassy and unfocused, Elliot reached out to wipe her tears and she flinched ever so slightly.

"I went to the field after school and he was there... he bought most of the school with him too. The football team grabbed me and they dragged me to this pole and tied me up, they told me what they were going to do to me and that I'd just have to take it like the whore that I am!" Sophia said bitterly, huge tears falling down her face. Elliot and Olivia were mortified but they didn't say anything, not yet. They just listened as their baby poured her heart out to them and relived the worst day of her life.

"James ripped my top and pants off, he made jibes about my weight and said that I should go to the gym. I was only 20lbs overweight... I wasn't that bad! I..." Sophia was going off track and Olivia gently plucked her up from the couch and into her lap, keeping her safe and secure.

"I begged them to let me go Mommy... I really did! They all just laughed at me, even the girls! Why did they do that to me? I even said please..." Sophia began to cry and Olivia rocked her back and forth, peppering kisses to her face. It broke her heart and Elliot's as well; she could see him shaking with anger out of the corner of her eye.

"I know, you did nothing wrong sweetheart. You're safe now, Mommy's here and so is Daddy... you're not the one in the wrong here!" Olivia cooed and held Sophia's head to her chest, allowing her to sob.

"There we go... there we go. Let it all out, baby... you just cry it out! Mama's got you..." She whispered soothingly, taking a tissue that Elliot had handed to her and drying the poor kid's now swollen face with it.

"They all just took it in turns... the boys I mean and they just, they hurt me! That's how I lost my virginity Mama... it's not how I imagined my first time being..." Sophia wept and Olivia shushed her, placing her hand over her rapidly beating heart.

"You didn't lose your virginity, sweetheart. It was taken from you by force and they had no right baby... no right at all!" Olivia rubbed Sophia's back and hugged her so tight to her chest that she began to feel a little safer.

"The girls... they got pens and circled all the fat on my body, they called me a slut and a whore!" Sophia began to open up to her surrogate parents and Elliot growled, causing Sophia to flinch.

"You're angry with me..." Sophia's voice was small and childlike, causing Elliot to kick himself for being so thoughtless. He reached out and hugged her tight, spurred on when Sophia hugged him back just as tight.

"Yes, I'm angry honey but not with you! I could never be angry with you! I'm angry with those animals who hurt you, it was so wrong of them. You didn't deserve that!" He whispered in her ear and pulled away once she began to calm slightly.

"Once they were done with me they just left me there, it took me hours to get free and then I had to walk home in the dark.." Sophia trembled and reached for Olivia who took her into her lap again and whispered softly to her, encouraging her to speak out.

"Once I got home, my mom was drunk and didn't notice that I was gone. She just screamed at me and locked herself in her room... I tried to ring my dad but he wouldn't answer! He eventually rang back about three days later and said he was on vacation with 'his' family and to leave him alone and stop being dramatic..." Sophia laid in both Olivia and Elliot's arms and cried for everything that had been taken from her. They both cried with her, they cried for that 15 year old little girl who needed her mom and dad, who'd had part of her body stolen, who'd been mercilessly tortured by older kids who should've known better! Olivia cried more as she imagined how frightened and betrayed Sophia must've felt, she thought it was horrific when Megan had gone through it! But at least Megan's parents had been there for their daughter every step of the way unlike Sophia's parents! She had never hated a group of people more. Olivia had an idea and she hoped that it would work.

"You've had to be so brave, sweet girl. But not anymore! Mommy and Daddy are here now!" Olivia cooed and swung Sophia up on her hip, rubbing soothing circles on her back and gently bouncing her up and down. They were going to show her how she should've been treated that night.

It was now 8:00am and Olivia had helped Sophia shower and wash her hair, carefully braiding it into a neat plait whilst Elliot made three huge mugs of hot chocolate which was Sophia's favourite drink. Olivia pulled back the duvet and put Sophia in the bed, crawling in on one side of her and Elliot on the other. He gently handed the drinks out and they all curled up together, Sophia's head laying on Olivia's chest. The steady thumping of Olivia's heartbeat was making Sophia doze off and Elliot had to quickly reach for the drink so that it didn't spill everywhere.

"Please can I sleep in here with you?" Sophia mumbled sleepily and the both of them almost cried! They were heartbroken that their baby would think that they'd kick her out after everything she had been through.

"Of course you can, love. Try to get some rest, we're here! You're safe now..." Olivia cooed and soothingly stroked the side of her head until she had fallen asleep, cuddled in between the only two people who'd never let her down. Olivia waited until she was sure that Sophia was asleep before looking at the man she loved, the anger in his eyes mirrored her own.

"I'm going to kill them! Those guys who hurt her... those girls who drew all over her body, her mom and her dad! All of them!" Olivia snarled and Elliot nodded, he had never been so sure of anything in his life.

"Let's track those bastards down!" He whispered, pressing a kiss to Sophia's head when she stirred slightly. Sophia might not have had people in her corner back then, but now she had New York's finest on her side and they were going to make sure that all those people who hurt their baby would pay the price.
