Gender Reveal

Ben woke up before Ciara, so he got up and made her breakfast. He made her scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast.

He placed it on the table before going to wake her up.

He leaned down and whispered in her ear, " Hey baby, I made you breakfast," he kissed her cheek and waited for her to wake up.

Ciara stirred and smiled as she slowly opened her eyes and looked at her husband.

" Morning."

" Morning," Ciara said as she sat up.

" I have to go to work, but I will see you later for our gender reveal party."

" I can't wait."

" Me either."

" I love you."

" I love you too."

Ben kissed her and kissed her belly before walking out of the bedroom. He grabbed his coat and walked out the door.

Ciara walked out and saw breakfast on the table. She sat down and started eating. She placed her hand on her belly and said, " You have the best daddy."

After breakfast, Ciara got dressed and went to pick up the cake for the gender reveal party.

When she got there, the bakery was closed. She wondered where Allie and Channel could be.

Ciara saw Ben walking through the square and yelled his name.

" Ben."

Ben turned and saw Ciara running towards him.

" Hi, you."

" Hi, sweetie."

She kissed him, pulled away, and said," I thought you had to work?"

" I had to get parts for an engine rebuild. What are you doing?"

" Well, Allie told me that the cake would be ready today, but Sweet Bits isn't even open."

" We can't have a gender reveal party without a cake."

" I know. I wonder where Allie could be?"

" Thank you for breakfast this morning."

" You're welcome."

" Oh, baby, I hope there's nothing wrong with the cake."

Ciara checked her phone and saw the time.

" Shoot, I have to head to Shawn and Belle's. Shawn promised he would help Grandma Julie with the decorations for the party.

" Okay."

" I'll see you later."

Ciara kissed him and headed to Shawn and Belle's.

" Hey, I just used my key. I hope that's okay?"

" Of course. What's in the bag?"

" Everything you need to decorate Grandma and Grandpa's house for the party."

" Perfect, I'm heading over there now, and Belle will be there after her meeting."

" I just wanted to drop this off. I'm heading home to relax for a bit."

" Thank you," Shawn said as he took the bag, " I will see you guys later."

Ciara left and went back home to relax.

She was sitting on the couch rubbing her belly when there was a knock at the door.

(knocking)

" Hang on," Ciara said as she slowly got up.

She opened the door and saw Allie standing there.

" Hi, umm, sorry, I'm moving really slowly nowadays," Ciara said as she looked down at her belly and rubbed it.

"Considering that this gender reveal cake was supposed to be ready hours ago, I can't really complain. Are you ready for your big day?"

" Can't wait."

Allie walked into the apartment, and Ciara shut the door. Allie set the cake on the table and opened the lid so Ciara could see it.

" Allie, it's beautiful."

" And just wait until you see the inside when you cut open this cake; it's going to be a moment you never forget."

" Thank you so much for doing this."

" Yeah, it was my pleasure. I'm sorry the bakery was closed when you came by earlier."

" No, all good. I know how busy you and Channel are. I figured you guys needed a break."

" Yeah, we did need a break. We have been so busy we've had three birthday parties, an engagement cake, and a retirement cake."

" Well, thank you for fitting us in. How much do I owe you?"

" Nothing, it's on the house."

" Are you sure?"

"Absolutely, I loved doing this for you."

Ben walked through the door and noticed Allie.

" Hey, Allie."

" Ben."

" How we doing?"

" Hi, sweetie. We are great," Ciara said as he helped her off the couch.

" Allie just brought over the cake, and it is gorgeous."

" I knew we picked the right person for the job."

" So. After waiting all these months, are you ready to find out if your baby is a boy or girl?"

" Can't wait."

" The guests of honor have arrived," Allie said as she walked in with Ben and Ciara.

Everyone cheered as they walked in.

There were blue and pink balloons and streamers everywhere. A board set up that said Team Boy or Team Girl, place your vote.

Shawn, Kayla, Doug, Johnny, Eli, and Lani all voted for Team Girl. They grabbed Team Girl stickers and put them on their shirts.

Roman, Julie, Belle, Ben, Ciara, and Marlena all voted for Team Boy. They grabbed Team Boy stickers and put them on their shirts.

Allie and Channel grabbed one of each because they both knew the gender.

The party was going great. Everyone was talking, eating, and laughing.

" So I just wanted to say? Thank you guys for coming and celebrating with us and this little nugget here," Ciara said as she rubbed her belly.

" I have heard horror stories about these kind of parties," Roman said. " Forrest fires, explosions."

" Well, you don't have to worry about any of that. All we have is a delicious dessert."

A little later, Ciara asked who was ready for cake?"

Everyone yelled, "Me."

" How do we do this?" Ciara asked.

" It's simple. Which one of you wants to the honors?" Allie said as she held the knife.

" Ciara."

" Umm."

Marlena said they should do it together.

Ciara looked at Ben and said," Perfect."

Ben took the knife from Aliie, and they both put their hand on the knife before cutting into the cake.

They cut into the cake and smiled at each other when they saw the baby blue icing.

They pulled out a slice, held it up, and said, " IT'S A BOY."

Everyone cheered and congratulated them.

They stayed a little longer. Ben helped Shawn take down the decorations, and Belle and Ciara helped Julie pack up the leftover food and cake.

Julie told Ciara to take the leftovers home in case she wanted a snack later. Ciara just smiled and took the containers from her grandma.

They thanked Doug and Julie again before heading home.

" That was an amazing party."

" Yes, it was. Babe, we are having a little boy."

" I'm so excited, Ben."

" Me too," Ben said as he ran his hand over her belly.

" Allie and Channel did an amazing job on that cake."

" Yes, they did. And we still have some cake for later."

" I will definitely be eating that later."

" Not if I eat it first," Ben said.

Ciara laughed and hit Ben's chest.

Ben pulled Ciara against him and said, " Maybe we could share it after we take a nice hot shower together."

Ciara turned in his arms and kissed him. She removed his shirt, took his hand, and led him toward the bathroom.

" This is nice."

" It is," Ben said as he kissed her neck and ran his hands over her belly.

They felt their son kick and smiled. Ben continued kissing Ciara's neck, and she relaxed against him.

They took turns washing each other and kissing. Ben turned off the water and got out first. He helped Ciara with her robe before grabbing a towel.

" You get in bed, and I'll get the cake."

" Thank you, baby."

Ciara got in bed and waited for Ben to return with the cake.

" Here we go, cake for my beautiful pregnant wife."

" Thank you."

" You're welcome."

Ciara decided to have a little fun. She put some of the baby blue icing on her finger and said, " Hey, babe?"

Ben turned to look at her, and she smeared baby blue icing all over his nose.

Ciara started laughing, "Oops." and Ben said, "Okay."

Ben went to kiss her before dipping his finger in the icing and rubbing it on her nose.

They started laughing and then shared a kiss.

"This has been an amazing day."

" It has," Ciara said as she rested her head on his shoulder.

Ciara ran her hand over her belly, and Ben did the same.

They finished the cake and cuddled up in bed. Ciara rested her head on Ben's chest, and he kissed her forehead.

It didn't take long for Ciara to fall asleep. Ben fell asleep not long after.
