Welcome to the last installment of My Maria! I was reading through the reviews from the very first chapter to the most recent chapter and let me tell you, I am truly amazed and kind of surprised at all of them! I will be the first to admit that I am self-critical and hard on myself (and not just in the realm of writing), but the reviews that I have received have given me a boost of confidence. This update has taken forever for multiple reasons: work, writer's block, and personal issues. If you are curious you can message me here or on ProBoards as Silver-White-Winters.

Disclaimer: I don't own a darn thing. If I did? Well, let's just say that there would've been a sequel with one or two littles added to the mix.

Side Note: This is set about two-ish months after their rendezvous in the 'hide away'. I also want to note that I am putting Baby Makes Three on hold and I am not sure when the hold will be lifted. I might rewrite it in the future, I don't know. Anyway. This chapter is from a different point of view than I normally write.

Much Love - Enjoy!

It was a few days before the wedding and both Maria and Georg were nervous. Understandably so, as this was supposed to be the social event of the year. The widowed naval captain that's set to marry his children's governess.

At the beginning of their engagement, there was a lot of speculation as to whether or not Maria had fallen pregnant and that resulted in the marriage. Quenching those who were thirsty for gossip wasn't easy, but with the help of Elsa working her societal skills and magic, plus her suggestion of wearing clothes that were rather form-fitting, it slowly fizzled out. Now that it was a few days before the wedding, though neither of them wanted it to happen, it was required that Maria stayed at the Abbey until the wedding.

Standing in the study, Maria stood in front of Georg with her forehead resting on his chest. "I'm being foolish, I know... but I really don't want to be apart from you and the children. I'll especially miss the late nights spent in your arms. It'll be hard to sleep without you, you know?"

"Maria," Georg murmured as he gently tilted her head upward with his forefinger curled under her chin, "There is nothing foolish about your feelings." Noticing that her eyes were watery and her lip was quivering slightly, Georg moved his finger from under Maria's chin to use his hand to cup her jaw. Then he placed a gentle kiss to the tip of her nose and moved to softly kiss her lips. "It'll be long but three days from now, we'll be blissfully married and enjoying our honeymoon in Paris."

"You always seem to know the right things to say."

"Do I, now? Hmm..."

"Don't let that go to your head, darling."

"I can-"

Georg was interrupted by Max knocking on the study door. "Hate to intercept the lovefest you two have going on, but it's time to leave for the Abbey."

Both Maria and Georg sighed. The next three days couldn't pass by quick enough.

"You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, my child. Have a seat," the Reverend Mother gestured towards the chair in front of her desk.

Slowly, Maria sat in the chair. She'd been keeping a secret for a little while. While it was nothing too terribly bad, it was life changing nonetheless.

"Along with the other sisters, I have noticed that you are a little more subdued than you were when we met to go over details of the engagement and wedding. Is everything alright?"

In an unconscious movement, Maria laid a hand on her just barely rounded stomach. How was she supposed to own up to an indiscretion?

"Ah," the Reverend Mother gave Maria a knowing look. "Does Georg know that you're with child?"

"No, he doesn't. I was going to tell him on our wedding night. You're not mad are you?"

"Not mad per se, but I am truthfully, a little disappointed in you."

For Maria, having someone mad at you wasn't nearly as bad as having someone disappointed in you. Especially when that person is a family member or a close friend.

"It was never my intention to fall pregnant before the wedding. The urge was strong and Georg and I tried to resist it- we really did, but it was just too much and eventually we gave in." Maria paused to take a deep breath so she didn't throw herself into an anxiety attack. "As wrong as it was, Mother, I can't bring myself to regret it."

"And I don't expect you to," the Reverent Mother paused. "But just so you're aware, when the child is born there is a potential for rumors surrounding when the child was conceived."

"I am aware of that and have already enlisted the help of Baroness Shraeder for help in trying to squash any rumors."

"You trust her?"

"I do. Although it took a while for us to warm up to each other, we've become good friends."

"If you trust her, I trust her. You are free to go, Maria. I just wanted to make sure you were alright."

"Thank you, Mother," Maria responded as she closed the door and retreated back to her small room.

Maria mused that the next two days couldn't go by quickly enough.

The day of the wedding had finally arrived and Georg and Maria were both a tangled mess of nerves; Georg because Maria was irresistible and he didn't want to mess up, and Maria was nervous because she had never been married before and wanted everything to be perfect for not only Georg, but Austrian society.

The music had started and the two youngest girls walked as slowly as their excitement would let them, down the aisle while throwing flower petals. The sight was endearing and made everyone smile. Following the two little ones, Liesl made her way down the aisle, as Maria's Maid of Honor. Once Liesl made it to the altar, the organ started to play the bridal march and signaled Maria to began gliding down the aisle.

As Maria reached the bottom steps of the altar, she took Georg's hand. He gently kissed the back of her hand and whispered, "My gorgeous bride, I love you."

"I love you too, my darling."

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the Holy matrimony between Captain Georg von Trapp and Fraulein Maria Kutschera"

Maria handed her bouquet of flowers over to Liesl and turned towards Georg with a smile.

"Before we begin is there anyone who wishes for these two people to not marry?," the bishop paused before continuing.

A moment of silence passed while everyone held their breath.

"Alright, let's begin. Do you, Georg von Trapp, take Maria Kutschera, to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to support her through times both good and bad, through sickness and in health? Do you promise to love and take care of her through times of wealth or poverty? To devote yourself to her for the rest of your life, as long as you both shall live, until death shall you part?"

Georg looked at Maria with eyes that sparkled as if he were tearing up. If he hasn't yet started, it would most definitely happen soon. "I will do so with everything I have and with the utmost love and respect."

Squeezing his hands and letting out a soft, contented giggle, she looked to Georg as the bishop began reading to Maria.

"Do you, Maria Kutschera, take Georg von Trapp to be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you promise to support him through times both good and bad, through sickness and in health? Do you promise to love and take care of him through times of wealth or poverty? To devote yourself to her for the rest of your life, as long as you both shall live, until death shall you part?"

"I do with everything that I am and that I have, with the utmost respect."

"By the power vested in me by He who is Holy and by Austria, I now present you as husband and wife! You may now kiss your bride.

Hand firmly held against her lower back, Georg leaned her backwards and gave her a very sound, searing kiss, albeit a short one.

Finally. We're finally married, they both thought.

After the very lavish wedding reception, teary goodbyes, and a promise to bring gifts back home, Maria and Georg finally left for Paris. It was a long trip, but after thirteen long hours, they had finally made it to Paris.

Once Maria and Georg finally got everything put away and got themselves settled, Georg noticed Maria was a little fidgety. "Are you alright, darling? You seem a little out of sorts?"

"Well," she paused. "I.. Remember the first night that we made love? When you took my virtue?"

Giving her a salacious grin, he commented, "How can I not? You were sinfully delectable and we both had a grand time. Wouldn't you say?"

"Oh yes, it was very delightful. Do you want to know what else happened that night?"

"Aside from making love to a beautiful woman? No. No, not really."

Maria held his hand and gently placed it on her slightly rounded stomach. "Any ideas?"

Georg looked from his hand on her stomach, back up to her shiny blue, watery eyes. "Is- are... Are you..?" He really felt like he needed her to actually tell him and confirm it.

"You helped me give the gift of life and several months from now, provided everything goes well and our health is alright, there will be a new addition to our family."

"Gods, I love you."

"You're happy," she questioned, chewing nervously on her bottom lip.

Georg cupped both sides of her face and murmured, "Maria, I'm ecstatic."

With that being said, Georg and Maria divested each other of their clothing, and walked towards the bed. The rest of the night? It was spent with the couple tangled together in celebration of what was to come.

And with that, we have the end of My Maria. Thank you all for your support and wonderful feedback! I appreciate each and everyone of you! xx
