Chapter 1: A Dark Wave Appears

What do you choose?

What?

Do you value power? Perhaps are you protective of your friends? Or do you have a secret longing to use magic?

I don't understand.

A beautiful big glass stain appeared to show a young man with black raven hair, beautiful blue cerulean eyes that held pain, with a large blade that is shaped like a key has dark black main color, with a out lighting of lapis blue, and a keychain of a little red robin. There stood the young man in the middle with a sword, a shield, and a wand appear.

Choose one.

He looks at each item, then walks up to the sword. He reached out his hand to grab it.

Are you sure?

Dick backed away from the sword and went to the shield. He grabs the shield, then in bright light, a shield with a bird symbol is on his arm.

Now what would you give up?

He looked in between the wand and the sword. He walked up to the sword, and grabbed it.

Are you sure?

Yes.

Then in a bright light, he was alone with only just a shield.

Can you face the darkness?

Then light shadow creatures appeared around him. A jump up to attack him, but he blocks it with the shield. He rushed over it, using the shield to slam the creature. When it squats, a pink crystal heart appears above him. He quickly got up and threw the shield at one of them, making it disappear. The last one tried to attack him, but he made a dive for the shield. He holds up the shield, as the creature attacks. The creature disappeared as he slowly stood up.

You have potential to be a great Keyblade Wielder. You have a path that I can not see. To choose to save the light or to join the darkness. You will face many adversaries. Discover what your heart really wants. The further you travel down this road, the harder it will be to come back to your world. I leave you a piece of advice. May your heart be your guiding key.

Dick Grayson shot up from his bed. He took deep breaths. He lay back down and stared at the ceiling.

That same dream I had for a month now.

Then his alarm clock went off. He groaned and got up for work.

Dick finishes his report from a case. He stared at the screen of his computer. Then his partner Amy Rohrbach came into his office.

"Grayson, you got that report ready?"

"Yeah. I just need to send it", he answered, as he snapped out of his thoughts.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine."

"Is this about that cute stage magician, Zatanna? She seems like a better match for you than that redhead chick."

"First her name is Barbara. Second, me and Zatanna are extremely complicated. I would love to be with her again, but I don't know if she feels the same way. Finally this isn't about Zee. I have been having the same dream for a month now, and I have a bad feeling about it."

"First, I saw the way she looked at you. She's in love with you, Go for it. Your kids will be cute. Secondly it's just a dream. Nothing is going to happen."

"First, very funny. Second, if you're wrong, you're buying me dinner."

"Deal."

Nightwing joins in on a combined mission with the League, the Outsiders, and the Team. He saw Zatanna on the roof.

"Hey."

"Hey."

Both stare out the sky.

"There are a few stars out tonight."

"Yeah."

Both became silent. Nightwing looks at her.

"You know, I caught your show a few weeks back. You're amazing, like always."

"Thanks."

Silent took over again. Both slowly look at each other, and move closer.

"You probably know, Babs and I broke up two months ago."

Both move closer to each other. Nightwing slowly wraps his arms around her waist as she lays one hand on the back of his neck.

"Yeah. Why did you break up?"

"I dated her out of guilt because Joker paralyzed her, but the main reason is because I'm in love with someone else."

Both lean, and close their eyes. Their lips ghosted each other, then heard Miss Martian their minds.

We need backup!

Both pulled away, and went to join the fight.

Nightwing came in with Zatanna, but he stopped. It was the shadow creatures from his dream. Robin got sent flying on his back. Nightwing went over, and helped him.

"Whenever we take down five, twenty more show up!"

"Guys!" Beast Boy screams as a giant swarm of the shadow creatures taking everyone.

M'gann screamed as she got swallowed up.

"M'gann!" Everyone screamed.

Garthfield and Robin got swallowed up next. Nightwing moves trying to get Zatanna.

"Dick!"

"Zee!"

Then she got swallowed.

"No!"

Nightwing looked behind him, and saw the swarm coming at him. He tried to stand his ground, but he got swallowed all like the others.
