Alexsey's Log:

November 3rd, 2023, 9:05 P.M.

It's after dark, and it's time to head out. I'd bring the others, but this is another solo mission. A few days ago, I didn't think this would be happening, but there is something ominous about all of it. Ever since the new Godzilla movie was announced, there have been a few reports of someone or something dressing up as Godzilla and causing mayhem.

However, one report suggests an animatronic Godzilla is on the loose, kinda like those creatures in Five Nights at Freddy's. A good majority of these incidents have been happening across Inkopolis. And now, with the new movie releasing, there have been sightings in the trainyard.

My friend Martin has asked me to look into the matter. This morning, Nona and I were enjoying some downtime, then I read the paper and learned that the entity had been spotted attacking an on-duty Jellyfish trainyard crew last night. Martin called, telling me that I needed to look into what was happening.

I thought about getting the team together as my backup, but maybe I can handle this alone for now. Nona will be safe at home. I won't let harm come to her. Now, I should start the mission...

Whatever this creature is, it's time to settle the matter.

Squidbeak Trainyard, West Inkopolis.

Friday night, 9:41 P.M, November 3rd.

An uneasy quiet accompanied the darkness, and a chilly breeze swept across the trainyard, weaving its way around the motionless trains and signposts. A few jellyfish were off duty, and they were all minding their own business. Alexsey walked through the yard, gripping the handle of his machine gun in a cautious manner.

Not a sound. Not a word. He looked around, surveying the silent trainyard, and keeping an eye out for ominous clues. The green-haired Inkling walked silently around the old tracks, and peaked out from behind a disused tanker, surveying a parked locomotive that hadn't been used in some time.

Above in the sky, the moon casted a light across the trainyard while a cloud rolled by, dimming out the moonlight and bringing an ominous chill. Alexsey ignored the shiver running down his spine, and looked inside an old freight car, seeing broken down crates that had long since fallen into disarray. He stepped back, then he continued walking through the rows of trains.

Creaking noises perked his ears, and the green-haired Inkling saw an old train signal shuddering in the late-night breeze. Alexsey turned away, moving past a pair of coal trucks covered in rust and dust bunnies after not being used for some time.

He turned towards a shed, and saw the shadows of old freight trains, standing idly by and looking nicely polished for a pair of trains that hadn't seen much action.

Alexsey heard crunching sound, and slowed his walking a little more, believing he was stepping in something sensitive. The Inkling looked down, seeing there was nothing here. He perked his ear, and listened closely. He could still hear crunching, and it sounded a lot like... footsteps.

The Inkling wasn't alone now.

However, it didn't sound like any of the Jellyfish who worked here. Alexsey walked towards a row of trains, walking past a Scotsman from years ago, and he saw shadows dancing on the side of a train in the moonlight. It was just his shadow, but there was something here.

Intrepid Alexsey could feel his breath run cold, and he felt his heart pounding. The temperature seemed to drop by ten percent, even though it couldn't have been the winter. Winter was coming, but the first day of it wouldn't be for another few weeks. Someone was lurking in the darkness, waiting to strike at a given opportunity.

Blue puddles tainted a rusty train track, dried, but still visible. Alexsey studied them curiously, then he stepped over the tracks and around the puddles. A train horn blew in the distance, carrying from a passenger train passing along a different track far from the trainyard, going somewhere else in the city.

9:46 P.M.

Alexsey heard a thud, followed by crunching noise. It sounded like it was coming from the… right. He turned around, and passed a cable car, making his way through a pair of steam engines from an age long past. He held his gun at the ready, and he stepped over a dented track.

He peaked around a truck, and a shadow loomed ahead. Something thudded again, and then, the creature made its appearance. And Alexsey found himself taking in every feature on its body; Ominous human-like eyes, stubby arms with sharp claws, and a mouth lined with teeth, razor-sharp spines running down the back to a slow-moving tail, dark bumpy skin, and bulky legs.

Alexsey was stunned to see it for himself, after all of those rumors and reports, he could hardly believe what this thing really was. It felt like something from an old horror movie. Or, perhaps, a creepypasta.

9:49 P.M.

The Godzilla creature growled, and kicked a bottle. And then, it turned in Alexsey's direction, and they locked eyes for many long ominous seconds. The entity, this animatronic, this... costumed individual, glared at the Inkling with a snarl, and took one step forward.

9:52 P.M. The moon vanished behind a cloud, and the leader of Team B could see the monster's shadow, and he could see its eyes glowing in the dark like a flashlight. Alexsey held his gun firmly, ready to open fire at any moment. This had to be the entity that had been popping up across Inkopolis...

And it didn't look like some sort of Godzilla movie promotion stunt. Alexsey saw no cameras nearby, the only camera here was the one in his phone.

He brought out his mobile device, and slowly turned it on, staring at the creature, and Alexsey turned on the camera. He made sure it was steady, and then, he snapped the photo just as the monster growled again. Alexsey put away his phone, and leveled his gun towards this thing, ready to do whatever had to be done.

It growled again. And then, it opened its fanged mouth, and let out the most terrifying roar in the world that shook the trainyard. This thing wasn't the real Godzilla, that was for sure. Alexsey stepped back with surprise, then he opened fire, letting loose a stream of bullets at the beast.

The monster lumbered towards Alexsey, glaring at him in a monstrous manner, and grabbed him by the neck. It slammed him into the ground, its claws tearing into the collar of his shirt, and it leaned down, roaring in Alexsey's face menacingly. A shiver ran up his spine, and Alexsey gritted his teeth, he wasn't about to let this... thing put him down.

With effort, he punched the beast in the jaw, and shot back onto his feet. He whacked the Godzilla-looking creature in the head with the butt of his gun, then he went into hand-to-hand combat, punching the beast in the face. The Living Godzilla Suit snarled, and slashed at Alexsey, almost grazing his face, but he ducked over, and he kicked the beast in the leg.

Godzilla's imposter stumbled over, and Alexsey threw his arm around his neck, then he twisted the head, and picked up the gun again. The creature opened its mouth to try and bite the Inkling, but Alexsey was fast and he fired a round right into his foe's mouth.

"GWAAR!" The creature roared and spluttered, then it toppled over, and a dark substance oozed from its mouth. "Godzilla" twitched on the ground, its eye rolled up, and the hand continued to jerk, while the tail shuddered a little. It took a while, then the... strange entity was still. Alexsey snapped a selfie with the creature behind him, and he grinned with confidence.

That was pretty much it. Alexsey picked up the limp body, despite the mass being quite hard, and he carried it through the trainyard. The Inkling looked at the time on his phone, seeing it was almost 10:00.

"Martin should be happy." The Russian Inkling quipped.

Alexsey's Log:

We don't know what this thing really was, but it was a monster, and it had chosen the form of Godzilla... or someone in a Godzilla suit. Whatever it is, we don't have to worry about it anymore, but we should speak little of these events unless we risk trouble with the likes of Toho for they had nothing to do with such events that transpired.

People can rest easy, knowing that someone in a Godzilla suit won't break into someone's home to cause trouble while they sleep. That thing was trespassing in a trainyard, and it had killed several people, but it was looking for something. Whatever it was, we may never know.

Now, I am ready to relax with Nona, and rest easy until Team B's next mission. It's time for bed, and whatever is left of this creature should be disposed of soon. However, why do I get the feeling there could be more to the story? I'm sure it's nothing.

Alexsey Moskovin out.
