Nyota sighed as she walked along. Jim and Mccoy walked slightly ahead of her chatting low.

The three were currently on a mission, stranded on a new planet surrounded by green forests and rushing rivers and oceans. They had just found the transmission required to power the ship and get off the planet as per their mission. They had made contact with Spock and Scotty back on the Enterprise and advised they would be back for night fall.

'Thank God we found it.' Mccoy stated relieved, carrying the small back pack on his shoulder. Jim chuckled.

' Mind you, this planet isn't too bad to be stranded on hey Bones?' Jim gestured to the left. Through the green trees there was a small rock drop off onto small beach coves. The waves pounded violently against the rock face before the tide drained right out back through the ocean channels.

The ground vibrated as another wave hit the rock face.

'Wouldn't want to be caught in that.' Nyota said absentmindedly. The pair chuckled, walking in silence.

A bush creaked in the wind as they walked. Bones jumped visibly as the other two chuckled.

' Let's get off this godforsaken planet with who knows what hanging around'. Bones muttered disapprovingly as the three fastened their pace. The temperature was getting cooler as the afternoon approached darkness.

'Probably another hour until we reach Enterprise.' Nyota said, bumping Bones with her shoulder playfully.

He smirked back at her.

Jim stopped in his tracks suddenly, gesturing his right hand up. Bones and Uhura froze.

' Shh. I hear voices.' Jim muttered, anxiety in his voice. Their hearts raced.

Uhura gasped as two large creatures appeared. They were humanoid in figure with porcelain skin and black markings on their faces. Warrior looking Aliens.

Bones stepped forward in front of Uhura, standing beside Jim.

They stopped, meters in front.

' We come in peace. We are just passing through.' Jim said with both hands up. Bones stood incredibly still, reading the Aliens expressionless faces.

The closest Alien muttered somethng foreign.

Suddenly the first alien lunged at Jim, grabbing him and throwing him a few paces away, towards the ocean cliff edge. Bones leaped forward as the second Alien attacked. The pair scuffled as Bones was pushed hard, rolling to the edge. The Alien grabbed the pack.

Jim froze in between dodging punches as Bones fought to grab the pack as the Alien tossed it carelessly off the side of the cliff.

' No!' Jim shouted in rage. Bones got to his feet, firing his blaster at the second Alien.

It screeched in pain as the shot hit its arm. Bones landed a solid punch. Jim continued to wrestle the first Alien, getting to his feet.

Uhura looked down at the pack. The ocean had not hit the rocky base yet as the tide dragge dout. The pack sat haphazardly against the rocky surface. She knew they needed that transmission if they wanted to get off this planet. It was their only chance.

Bones fired another shot to the first alien. it screeched again as suddenly both Aliens haulted, looking at each other briefly before sprinting back into the forest depth in fear as Bones and Jim stared after them, catching their breath.

Uhura sprinted to the edge of the small cliff face, mentally calculating how far the tide was out and how long it would take to hit against the rocks. She took a deep breath as she sat onto the edge, allowing her body to slide easily down against the smooth water-beaten rocks.

Mccoy sighed in relief and patted Jim on the shoulder. Jim brushed dirt from his shirt.

'Well that was eventful.' Jim said exasperated.

Mccoy turned to see Uhura's hands push off the edge and disappear over the top.

' Uhura!' He shouted in fear, sprinting to her with Jim at his heels.

Uhura slid down quickly, reaching the pack. She swung it onto her shoulders and looked up. Fear was strong across her friends faces.

' Uhura! What are you doing!' Jim shouted to her, eyeing the changing ocean tide anxiously.

Uhura reassured them. "I'm coming! I got it!'

She began to scramble up the slippering rocks. Panic hit her chest slightly as she realised the rocks were too smooth to get back up as fast as down.

She looked behind her quickly as the tide changed and began its approach back.

She scrambled left of where she was, to rocks with more of a jagged edge. Putting one foot after the other and gripping quickly, she scurried up the rock face, grateful for the slope nature and bigger rocks to grab.

' Hurry! The water!' Mccoy shouted in trepidation. Uhura's breathing increased as she felt his fear. She climbed faster, the pack tight on her back as she refused to look back at how close the tidal wave of water was approaching.

Uhura was gasping as she felt the mist on her hands of the fast approaching wave. She was so close to Mccoy and Jim's crouched positions leaning over the cliff.

The wave approached fast. Uhura screamed in fear as she scrambled, realising the wave would hit in seconds yet she was not close enough for her arms to reach them yet.

Uhura's scream pierced the roaring wave.

Mccoy reached down, grabbing Uhura's backpack as she climbed. He hauled her frame up with all his strength as the wave smashed into rock just seconds where she was clinging.

Jim grabbed her as the two pulled her strongly to safety. Uhura sprawled heavily across Mccoy's chest, feeling the symphony of their frightened breathing.

'oh my god thank you, thank you' she breathed as Mccoy panted her back and Jim sat upright, catching his breath.

The trio stood slowly, Mccoy pulling Uhura up. He glowered at her a frown across his features.

' Don't ever do that again. You scared me to death.' He said concerned.

Uhura looked up at him.

' Yeah Uhura that was really stupid and reckless. And that's coming from me.' Jim said earnestly.

Uhura chuckled, handing the pack to Jim.

' Noted. I owe you guys' She said in relief.

Mccoy's expression softened as he playfully pushed her head away from him as she laughed.

The trio walked closely and quickly, the enterprise clear in the distance.
