Jim and Spock spoke strategy, deep in conversation as they filled Scotty in on the events of their mission.

Uhura waited to ensure their conversation was deep enough for her to slip away. she watched as Spock leaned on the table, explaining land scale as Scotty and Jim listened intently.

She exited the room quietly, heading to the staff kitchen. She sipped her coffee eagerly, letting it warm her bones and hoping the caffeine would give her strength for this afternoons data entry ahead of her.

She tossed the empty cup in the bin as she walked the quiet Starfleet halls. She turned the corner, lost in thought, looking down at her feet.

"Nyota." A calm familiar voice broke her distraction.

"Geez Spock!" she exclaimed as her arms shot out, touching his chest." i nearly walked into you." she said disapprovingly.

Spock stood in his usual upright and perfected postured stance. His expression appeared oddly playful although only Uhura would notice this, having mastered her lover's facial nuances.

"Nyota, do you have any intention of going to Dr Mccoy as discussed earlier?" Spock asked innocently looking down at her puzzled face.

Uhura sighed and rolled her eyes. Spock smirked.

"Spock, I have work to-" her breath cut off in a huff as Spock swiftly bent down and easily lifted her over his shoulder, walking quickly back through the halls.

"spock!" Uhura dropped her usual professionalism and whined, hitting his back as he walked hastily.

She took a breath as she watched the floor surface change to white. Medbay.

"One reluctant patient as discussed Dr Mccoy." Spock lowered a glowering Uhura to the med bay as she looked up at Bones.

Mccoy's expression was covered in humour.

Spock quickly exited the door.

'Coward.' Uhura said without humour, looking towards the door.

Mccoy chuckled as he lifted her sleeve.

' It was actually my idea. Haul her ass to med bay was my exact wording.' Mccoy said without humor as he observed the dried blue liquid on her skin.

He took a swab of the blue liquid.

'Now don't lie to me because i'll know.' Mccoy warned, looking into Uhura's innocent eyes.

'Are you having any symptoms, im talking headaches, dizziness, hell PMS; I need to know about it no matter how small.' He said with warmth in his professional tone.

Uhura smirked slightly. ' Nothing, Bones. Really I feel normal.' She said honestly. He searched her eyes for fraud before his frown softened.

'Well I will analyse this but I need you to check back this afternoon. I wont sleep until I know it's not some alien poison i've never dealt with.' He said seriously.

Uhura chuckled to lighten the mood.

'I mean it, back here at 5pm or I'll send that hob goblin to hunt you down again.' Mccoy said sternly.

Uhura smiled. ' Okay deal.' She agreed as she slid off the med bed as Mccoy watched his friend exit.
