Uhura went about her day as per normal without symptoms. She buried herself in all of her language analysis, relieved when the afternoon ticked over to 5pm. She could really use a break by travelling through space. Being grounded meant more paperwork. She smiled as she looked up from her desk.

Jim and Spock stood staring at her. Her brow frowned in annoyance.

'I'm going!' She raised her voice slightly as Jim's expression relaxed. Spock fought a smile.

She walked the halls as footsteps increased in volume behind her. She turned and roller her eyes.

'Spock.' She fought a smile herself as she looked up at her boyfriend replaying the morning in her head. She liked when he wasn't so serious all the time though his expression now was lost in thought and stern.

He kept pace with her easily as the pair entered med bay.

'Dr Mccoy what did the substance analysis show?' Spock queried as he entered. Mccoy held back an eye roll.

Uhura sat on the bed.

Mccoy looked worried.

'Any symptoms?' He looked at Uhura.

She shook her head. ' What is it?'

Mccoy hesitated. 'Well it appears to be some sort of neurotoxin however it doesn't make sense that you are not reacting to it at all.'

Spock interjected. ' A neurotoxin?'

'It doesn't appear to be poison which is good news its just that neurotoxins work by binding to the central nervous system to cause pain or sickness. Neither of which you have. Which is good just puzzling.' Mccoy frowned as his expression softened.

Uhura pursed her lips. ' Well im all good then?' she enquired as she stood up.

Mccoy smiled. ' yes you are just come back if anything changes. Otherwise it appears to be harmless at present.'

' Thank you Doctor." Spock said kindly, relief across his face.

Uhura was glad to not be an attention source. Her and Spock returned to their quarters and spent the night embracing.
