Once the meeting had broken up, Logan went looking for Xander and found him in the gym. Cordelia was sitting nearby watching him as he worked out.
"I didn't expect to find you in the gym." Logan told them. "Given all the activities we've got available for the students, I mean."
"I'm used to more activity then I've had in the last few days." Xander answered. "I'm a construction foreman in my regular job and help with patrolling Sunnydale at night looking for vampires. Just sitting around idle doesn't really happen."
"Before the thing possessing me starting controlling my body and life." Cordelia said. "I worked for a detective agency that investigated supernatural events. Part of my day often included weapons training, swords mostly. So I'm used to more activity too."
"So apparently, to quote Star Wars, I'm your father, sort of. I'm not a scientist, I can't begin to understand it."
"Me either." Xander replied. "On both not being a scientist and not understanding it . Tony Harris was never going to win Father of the Year, but he's the only father I've ever known. And you are giant leaps ahead of him, and not because you're a superhero, but because people matter to you."
"I'm a killer, kid."
"Not news. But you've had reasons, not always good, but still reasons." Xander acknowledged. "But you're well known for mentoring kids and the kids respecting you, not being afraid of you. Tony never wanted to be a father, he said it often enough. And I'm a disappointment to him, something else he's said often enough. And no, he's not aware of Sunnydale's night life."
"And if I decide to beat the shit out of him?"
"Do it because you actually see him hurting someone, not to avenge me. He's my problem to deal with."
Respecting his choice, Logan nodded. "So being we're related, we should have Jean check to see if you've got bone spurs on your knuckles, it's entirely possible you have claws and they just haven't become known yet."
"How cool would that be?!" Xander grinned.
"As long as they don't come out accidentally and poke me, fairly cool actually." Cordelia agreed.
"So you don't have any issues with us being related?" Xander asked curiously.
"The issue involves who one of your mothers is, kid. Jean is someone I care about, more then I should, given she's married. Scott's mostly a friend and aware of it. He knows I won't poach and why did you just flinch?"
"I cheated on Cordy when we were together in High School." Xander admitted. "A few kisses with Willow. I didn't understand it when it was happening and I still don't and it's not something I can just say, Willow made it happen with more mind raping, because it's something she's not sure about either. It's possible she influenced me magically accidentally or it's possible I subconsciously sabotaged it, given my own fears."
"Fears like the ones used to torture you on your wedding day?" Logan probed, thinking he had a good idea what those fears involved, given the abuse the kid had suffered. The kid hadn't said he couldn't talk to Tony Harris, just couldn't hit him...
"Yeah, those kind." Xander confirmed.
"Who was this guy? And why did he kidnap and torture you anyway?"
"You remember me saying my ex fiance was a vengeance demon or justice demon, as some of them like to be called? Anya, was Anyanka, patron demon of scorned women. If a woman had been wronged by a man, she could summon Anyanka and make a wish for vengeance and Anyanka would grant it. The guy who came after me was one of her victims, he tortured me to get even with her. I was just caught in the cross fire."
"You dated and nearly married someone who spent centuries inflicted acts of vengeance on men? Just men? Sounds like she maybe doesn't like men very much."
"Most men she doesn't." Cordelia agreed. "She told me she became interested in Xander because he was less objectionable then most men. Although that isn't why she stayed with him." She was grinning ear to ear and Xander's own ears were red.
"Why did she stay with him?" Logan asked, certain the answer was going to be amusing.
"The record breaking number of orgasms he could give her. Repeatedly."
Logan laughed so hard, he decided it was a good thing he healed so fast because he might just have busted a gut.
"And it's why she regrets their breaking up. Because she misses that record breaking number of orgasms." Cordelia finished as Xander's whole face went red. "Apparently she bragged about their sex life alot and now mourns the loss of it to anyone she can get to listen to her."
'Yep, definitely amusing.' Logan thought.
"And I may never forgive Willow for the fact that she erased my own personal memories of my first hand experience with my own record breaking number of orgasms. But the Professor did help me recover those memories, so at least I can savor them. For now anyway." Cordelia added as Xander began to resemble a very red apple.
And Logan didn't stop laughing.
A/N Just because I think Anya was a substitute Cordelia in terms of both the show and as Xander's girlfriend, doesn't mean I don't like her. Her dead pan delivery of commentaries on her's and Xander's sex life was particularly amusing. Of course, like Xander and Faith, she was undervalued and underappreciated as well.
