Chapter 4: Guard Dogs.
Highly trained, highly paid guard dogs.
-(Hazbin Hotel; Pentagram City, Pride Ring)-
(Morgan's POV)
"For the last time: I won't tell anybody!" I told Charlie while both of us walked down the third set of stairs, with her leading the front.
Charlie looked back at me with a stern expression. "And how do I know you really won't tell a single soul?"
"Listen. The last thing I would do is break the Princess' promise. Especially if she's the daughter of the King of Hell himself."
"I want action to those words, Colonel!"
I blankly stared at her and tilted my head confusingly. "How is that even going to work?"
"I-I don't know! Figure it out!" She folded her arms together, tightly.
"No offense. But you're starting to take this a lot more serious than it should be…" I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"You almost saw me naked!" Charlie glared as she blushed hard while rubbing her arm sheepishly. "I lost all my confidence in all this!"
"First time?"
She puffed up and sent a barrage of punches on my chest, but with little effect due to her embarrassment weakening her. "Stop teasing me! It's not funny!"
After giving her some time to let out some steam, both of us finally went back to making our way down the stairs. We reached the main lobby room and walked towards the entryway to the bar where everyone was supposedly staying. However, the counter and stools were now almost empty as the only ones remaining were Vaggie and Melodie with the two of them casually chatting. The empty glasses from Vermilion Squad and the rest of ours were already collected, which I assumed Husk or Niffty was handling them right now. As for Melodie, she was already on her second drink while Vaggie was sheepishly covering her entire glass with her hand to hide the fact she refilled as well.
Charlie walked in first and greeted both of them. "I'm back, girls. Sorry about that." She chuckled and nudged my side.
"Where's the rest of Vermilion and the other three?" I asked while noticing the bar was almost empty except for the four of us.
"Niffty went back to the room you guys broke into, Husk is in the storage room to restock the bar, and Angel Dust is…ugh…being himself." Vaggie answered with the latter being her pointing her thumb over at the lazing spider on the sofa in the corner on his phone.
Melodie chuckled and played with the cherry stem of her cocktail. "My team went back on patrol. I received special orders from Damiens that I am to remain here until tensions have eased."
Charlie raised an eyebrow and looked over at me and Melodie. "Why not just send more Royal Guards over to the hotel instead of temporarily keeping you two here? The patrols could probably need you."
"Actually, this order was passed down to Damiens from your mom." Melodie told her. "Seems like she relies on WarDog protection more than the Royal Guards, like the few Overlords and Higherups do."
"Hold on a sec. You protect Overlords too…?" Vaggie turned over to Melodie in surprise.
"Only a select few." She replied casually.
"Is Valentino a part of the agreement with your family?" Vaggie suspiciously looked over at Charlie, concerned about that subject.
Angel Dust chuckled from his sofa and shook his head. "Nah. My asshole boss hates to be someone else's bitch. No offense to Sir Smiles." He said while looking around to make sure Alastor wasn't around. "Plus, he hates the WarDogs sniffing on his business."
"Fitting. Because I hate that motherfucker too." Melodie rolled her eyes and took a sip of her drink. "He had the audacity to be touchy on my ass when I was involved in an investigation in his club. Hope he uses his left eye more." She said while lifting a fist to hint she physically harmed him during that incident.
"HAH! So, YOU were the reason he had a black eye one time!" Angel Dust laughed. "I wouldn't be surprised if you're also the reason why he hates them because of it."
"What were you investigating for in his club?" Vaggie asked.
"Queen Lilith called me in for a favor after I owed her. All you need to know is she got what she wanted." Melodie chuckled without elaborating even further, which was probably something more personal between the two.
Charlie looked over at her in surprise. "You know my mom?!"
She nodded and set her drink down. "Believe it or not, we're good friends. I'm basically her personal courier. Plus, I'm the only WarDog she trusts the most out of all of them."
"And that's why she wanted you to stay here too." I realized easily as soon as she mentioned her close relationship with the Queen.
"Right on the money." Melodie nodded her head while raising her glass. She looked over at Charlie and gave a warm smile. "You may not remember me. But Lilith would usually call me over to provide security for you whenever you went out or attended some parties."
Giving back a smile to her, Charlie bowed her head a little to show her gratitude for her service. "I don't remember too much. But I'm grateful."
Before I could ask Melodie more about her interactions with the Morningstar Family, my personal phone suddenly vibrated and let out a specific ringtone from an incoming call. A rather embarrassing ringtone as all three ladies looked over at me with questioning expressions. Angel Dust covered his mouth to hide his laughter at what he was hearing and soon gave in by doing so on a pillow. I grinned embarrassingly and pressed the answer button to halt the ringtone while covering the bottom microphone.
"It's my girlfriend…" I told them.
Melodie snickered quietly and shook her head. "Good choice for a ringtone, Colonel."
Vaggie shook her head and leaned on her hand. "Riiiight."
Ignoring her judgmental stare, I walked out of the bar and spoke into my phone. "What's up, Marcy?" I called her by her nickname.
"Hey, love. I just got your voicemail from earlier. Sorry about that." Marcela apologized, "I was in the middle of something."
"It's fine. With what's happening right now, I can't blame you for being busy by keeping in touch with everyone else." I said while leaning my back against the wall. "You gonna to be okay with everything?"
"Don't worry about it. I can handle all of this on my own. I'm all that used to it by now."
"Just remember not to strain yourself because even Chairman Calinao is worried about you." I told her in a more serious tone. "And no smoking."
Marcela sighed over the phone and chuckled. "Okay, papa~! I'll be a good girl~!"
I couldn't help but smile and chuckle back upon hearing her reply in that way. "Don't call me that."
"Come on, Morgan. I know there's a hidden interest like that I have yet to wake up~!"
"Yeah? Well, there's not. Nice try."
"Booo~!" She disappointingly let out.
"Anyway," I cleared my throat as a sign to change the subject, "I'm inside Princess Charlie's hotel under the orders of King Lucifer. As for how long I'll be staying here for today, not sure. But I have a hunch it's going to be until my shift is over."
She immediately asked, "Is she there with you?!"
"Charlie is still talking with Va-…"
I paused mid-sentence when I peeked from the doorway and into the bar, having my face directly in front of Charlie's by around seven inches. She froze where she stood while giving this blank expression on her face as if she didn't know how to respond in this situation. From what I assume she was peeping and listening into my conversation with Marcela. After a few seconds of awkward silence, she jumped back away from me and blushed heavily while giving a rather forced smile. Vaggie and Melodie, at the bar's counter, shook their heads as if they knew she was eavesdropping and doubted how she was handling the situation was going to work smoothly. And they were right. I gave her a questioning look and tilted my head while she remained stiff.
"Oh, I see. Now YOU were eavesdropping!" I folded my arms at Charlie.
She stopped playing her game and averted her eyes away, still embarrassed about getting caught. "Okay, you got me. But that was about getting even with you for you peeping on me while I was practicing!"
Vaggie spat out some of her drink on the floor and shifted her eye at me with a menacing glare. "He did what?!"
Charlie realized her mistake in bringing it up and turned to me. "COLONEL!"
"Wait a second! You were the one that said it! Not me!"
"So, you're telling me this "advisor" had the audacity to peep on the Princess of Hell." Vaggie clenched her glass hard as if she was just a few squeezes away from shattering it.
"Psst~…did you see anything that interests you?" Melodie shrugged her eyebrows teasingly.
I glared at Melodie for not taking this matter seriously. "That's none of your business."
"Yeah? And so was seeing me in that situation!" Charlie poured more fuel into the fire. In which case, Vaggie's anger.
"You men are always the same…" Vaggie gritted her teeth with an aggressive snarl. "If you weren't a military advisor, I would've punished you for your sins myself!"
"Let me just make one thing clear: It was mostly an accident!" I assured Vaggie in an attempt to calm her down, almost glaring daggers at me. Figuratively or literally, knowing what she's capable of. "I didn't expect her to start undressing and I swear I never laid a finger on her!"
Vaggie raised an eyebrow and folded her arms as a single step of standing down. "Then why did you peep in the first place…?"
"I was going to return the Plutonian Magnum she kept, but I didn't want to walk in when she was in the middle of something. Her door was still open." I answered and folded my arms back at her. "Actually, it really would've been better if you gave it to her yourself like I suggested. Otherwise, this all wouldn't have happened in the first place."
"Tch. Okay, fair point…" She sighed and looked away.
Charlie blushed and shook her head behind Vaggie as she knew it would've been more embarrassing if she discovered her rehearsal instead of me.
"Uhh…Morgan…?"
Hold on. That voice came from my phone this time…. I immediately looked at it to see I was still on call with Marcela without muting it!
"AW SHIT!" I cursed. "Marcy, why are you still on the line?!"
"That's rude. I was just calling you to make sure everything is alright and that's what you asked~?" Marcela asked, clearly in a teasing manner.
Charlie chortled a little and went closer to me to try and speak to my phone too. "Marcy, correct?"
"Y-Your Highness?!" She gasped as she wasn't prepared to speak to the Princess herself directly. "I-It's actually Marcela. But it's an honor to speak with you!"
Melodie snickered quietly and tilted her head curiously. "Big fan of Charlie?"
"Yeah. Calling her a "big fan" is an understatement." I rolled my eyes with a whisper.
"I'm flattered~! Thank you!" Charlie smiled widely as she bowed her head as a force of habit, even if Marcela wasn't physically there. "It's not every day I get to hear from my fellow demons who admire me and my work…"
"I see." Marcela chuckled to ease off some of her tension over the conversation. "Well, Your Highness, just know that I believe you're doing the right thing with the hotel. It's nice to see that an unforgiving place like Hell has at least one person giving them a chance to redeem themselves. Even if many disagree with you. Don't let that stop you."
With that, Charlie's smile widened even more as even Vaggie's anger eased down upon seeing her this happy. I'm not sure what was the full story behind this hotel, but after the interview Charlie had on 666 News, I knew there were a lot of setbacks and humiliating results on their image. Even with Alastor's assistance with renovating Hazbin Hotel and acquiring two employees to work on it, the establishment was probably still looked down upon as an unnecessary cause that is deemed to fail. But upon hearing a demon outside their circle state her opinion in a positive manner, it was refreshing. Of course, I believe in redemption. But it's going to be much slower to progress into. And yet the Princess is determined to do all of this with a minimum amount of assistance from even her parents that openly disagree with her methods.
"You're so sweet, Marcela." Charlie said. "Is that why Colonel Adler chose you?"
I blushed lightly and averted my eyes away from her teasing smirk. "Maybe. It's not just because we're both WarDogs."
"Your girlfriend is in the WarDogs too?" Vaggie asked while leaning against the counter.
"2nd Lieutenant Marcela Lopez; Callsign "Espada" in the Cyberspace Pack." Marcela told her when she heard Vaggie ask. "Me and Morgan have some history."
"Espada? Isn't that some sort of Mexican dish?" Angel Dust asked.
"No, dumbass. It means "sword" in Spanish." Vaggie huffed, but then tilted her head curiously at her full name. "Puerto Rican? Mexican? Spanish?"
"Latinx?" I jokingly added.
"Babe, if you call me that again, you're sleeping outside the house." Marcela said to me. "Mexican." She replied to Vaggie. "Born and raised in Toluca. Just southwest of Mexico City. As for why I was given the callsign, the first weapon I used in combat was a sword."
"¿Hablas español? (Do you speak Spanish?)" Vaggie asked.
Marcela replied in Spanish as well when she spoke it, "Sí. Mejor que mi novio… (Yes. Better than my boyfriend…)"
I understood what she said and pouted. "Hey, it gets a little harder when I had to learn more than three languages."
Charlie turned her head at me curiously. "Three?!"
"English as my native tongue. Arabic when I was deployed in Afghanistan during my time in MARSOC. Russian due to…reasons…. And some of the demonic language due to being sent down here." I told Charlie. "Marcela is still teaching me Spanish."
"I am so sorry you have to deal with him every day." Charlie said jokingly over at Marcela.
She giggled over the phone and sighed. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm used to it by now."
"Don't make it sound like I'm a bad boyfriend!" I said while with a small pout.
"You are kind of a bad boy though~!"
"You're clearly trying to ruin my image in front of Charlie and everyone else here, aren't yah?"
Marcela buzzed her lips and chuckled. "You kind of did that yourself when you peeped on the Princess."
"I JUST…you know what, forget about it…" I groaned sheepishly.
Vaggie chuckled and rolled her eyes a bit at the two of us. "Must be pretty hard to deal with a guy like him though."
"You kidding me? I'm the one who has to deal with her." I chuckled as I could tell Marcela was pouting over the phone.
"You know the old saying: Life is like a man's dick. Women make it harder." Angel Dust snickered.
Upon him saying that, laughter erupted out of both of us and Husk; heard from the storage room behind the bar. But we quickly silenced ourselves because Marcela was still on the line along with Melodie, Charlie and Vaggie standing in front of us. But it was too late to suppress it. Marcela huffed on the speaker phone while the three other ladies narrowed their eyes at us as if we made a fatal mistake. Especially for the one-eyed knife wielder, already glaring daggers at us. If we laughed even a split second longer, there would've probably been real daggers involved by now.
Vaggie growled and raised her hand before clenching it into a fist. "Fucking keep laughing, Pendejos!"
"Today, I identify as a woman!" Angel Dust immediately declared to prevent being subjected to physical violence.
I buzzed my lips at that sort of cheap move. "That's still not going to save your ass."
"To be honest, I…thought it was kind of funny…" Melodie grinned dryly.
"Don't encourage him." Vaggie sighed.
"Relax, toots." Angel Dust chuckled and leaned against the counter while resting one of his legs on the other stools. "Nobody else is here in the hotel to laugh about it. Just take the damn joke and move on."
"The hotel is empty? I thought you said the quotas were full when you tried to apply for it." Marcela said, puzzled.
Charlie gave a sheepish grin as she averted her eyes away from everyone. "That was…my mom was just trying to help…"
"Lying isn't the best marketing tool…" She said about Lilith's statement of the hotel having a full quota.
"Hence why I never wanted her to promote the hotel. Even with her disapproval of its purpose."
Not wanting Charlie to be down in the dumps over admitting something like this to one of her fans, I jumped into the conversation to cheer her up. "I'm sure there are some demons here in the Pride Ring that have some sort of agreement with what you're trying to do. Redemption isn't for everyone. But there are those that do deserve it when they choose to redeem it."
"Yeah." Melodie raised her glass and smiled. "Take me for example."
"Well, it's at least good to know we have some in the military that are rooting for this project."
"Believe it or not, your hotel did inspire the military to come up with an idea that can help solve the overpopulation problem in Hell."
Charlie's eyes lit up as she smiled as wide as she ever did. "Really? What did they do?"
"The Underling Brigade."
Hearing that unit from her had me stare at her blankly. "Melodie? Are you even aware of what that unit is?" I asked with a slight tilt of my head.
"Not really. I just heard from TL (Team Leader; Raizo) about how that group was made as a solution for overpopulation."
Quizzically, Charlie turned her head to me and bit her lip as if she had a feeling there was a twist to it. "What is it?"
"It's the military's penal unit." I answered. "Instead of rehabilitation, they just send these guys on suicide missions to make the regular force's jobs easier. Or simply just get rid of them."
Charlie gasped and gave an intensely shocked expression. "Th-That's horrible!"
"Hold on, you never knew something like that existed?" Vaggie asked as she comforted her by patting her back.
"Looks like some people have been keeping her in the dark…" Angel Dust whistled.
"Knowing how the Princess is, she would easily been against that sort of proposition even towards convicts." Marcela said over the phone. "But just know this, your highness. There are mostly those in the Underling Brigade that doesn't deserve sympathy even when they were given a chance."
I gave her a nod and took a seat next to her and Vaggie. "Serial killers, terrorists, rapists, thieves, liars, and the other worst kinds of lowlifes you can think of are in that unit. As your WarDog security advisor, I would FORBID you from getting anywhere near them."
Vaggie agreed and gave a nod as well. "That is saying a lot when this is Hell we're living in, hon."
"I guess…" Charlie sighed as she understood what all of us were saying. But I can still tell deep down she was conflicted.
"Anyway, before I go," Marcela called for me, "are you going to be staying in the hotel a bit longer? Or you'll be done before dinner?"
"I'm gonna have to call Damiens or Lucifer for an answer to that, since I reported a suspicious person on the grounds of the hotel." I answered while looking down at my MP5A3 below the counter. With its firing mode on safety, of course. "Something tells me I'm probably going to stay here for tonight…"
All of a sudden, Niffty popped out from the other side of where we sat and grinned excitingly while standing and jittering on the counter. "YOU'RE STAYING HERE?!"
"Err…" I chuckled from her jumping out of nowhere and with that sort of reaction. Still, was rather puzzled to why she was eager to have me here. "We'll see. If my boss or Charlie's father says I have to, the-"
"No problem! I'll prepare your room at once!" She took out and waved her feather duster around and dashed out of the bar, skipping up the stairs.
Angel Dust snickered and gave me a small wink. "I think she likes you~!"
"I'm taken though."
"That's still not gonna stop her." He shrugged his eyebrows.
"Morgan, don't go cheating on me with the housekeeper." Marcela said on the line with both a teasing and stern tone to it. With heavy emphasis on the latter.
"You know I would never cheat. What kind of guy do you take me for?"
My eyes gave a quick glance to the others, and I had a variety of expressions directly upon me. Charlie gave me a rather questioning look, Vaggie was glaring daggers at me, Angel Dust was giving me this shit-eating grin, and Melodie just shrugged her shoulders and brows at me. This honestly wasn't helping me in the slightest.
Marcela chuckled after the few seconds of silence. "I know, I know. You're the last man I would expect to cheat on me."
"Damn right…" I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"With that aside, I'm going to have to call you back another time. I need to contact my CO about the new files I just worked on." She told me while I heard her chair creak and began typing on her keyboard.
"Alrighty. Call you later. Love you."
"I love you, papa~!"
"For the last time, stop calling me that."
"You know you love it~!"
"In your dreams." I said before hanging up and put my phone in my pocket. "Oh Marcy…"
Angel Dust tilted his head and flirtatiously shook his shoulder over at me. "Are you okay, daddy~?"
"Call me that one more time, and you'll end up getting back to having four limbs again."
"Actually, I got five. If you know what I'm talking about." He joked and laughed while leaning back down on the couch with his phone. But he stood back up and groaned as soon as he looked at the screen. "Greeeeaaat…bad time to give me a call, Cherri." He rolled his eyes and chuckled before heading out of the bar, loudly talking over the phone.
Suddenly, there was another incoming call coming from Melodie's pocket. The ringtone blasted out a tune that clearly got all our attention while Melodie hastily went to take it out and silence it, while the call was still coming through.
"And I thought I had the most embarrassing ringtone." I smirked.
Melodie playfully lifted her middle finger at me, which was pretty ballsy for a non-commissioned officer to show towards a field officer. "It's your mom." She chuckled while wiggling her phone around at Charlie. "I'll be in the lobby, if you need me."
"Sure. Tell her I said "Hello"." Charlie nodded her head with a smile.
She got off the stool and walked over towards the exit while greeting Lilith over the phone. However, she stopped near the exit and looked back at Charlie with her finger curling towards her. "You mom wants to talk to you too."
"Oh!" Charlie happily got off her seat and walked over to Melodie. She turned over to Vaggie and I with a smile before saying, "I'll be back. This should be quick."
"Take your time, hon." Vaggie smiled back.
Things were going to turn awkward now that it was just me and Vaggie, who I felt was still seeping with a hostile aura towards me. I mean, I can understand her being protective towards her girlfriend. But something tells me in my gut that she's still skeptical. Still, instead of enduring the awkward silence, I took out my phone and made sure she was unable to see the screen. I was currently in my settings at the sounds section and increased the ringtone and alerts volume just for the speakers to test it out. This was my chance to pretend a call was coming through so I could walk out.
"Looks like my boss wants to give me a call. I'll be outsi-"
"Hold it right there!" Vaggie grabbed my arm and used her other hand to swipe my phone.
"What the-?! Hey!"
Vaggie looked at the screen with an unamused expression as if she knew exactly what I was doing. Her eye looked back up at me and shook her head. "What call? I don't see any call request." She said while showing the list of my recent calls, with Marcela being the recent one from a minute ago.
I sighed and raised my hands as a sign that she got me. "Alright. How did you know?"
"Personal experience. I know how you military boys get out of situations." Vaggie folded her arms and formed a proud smirk.
"Man…" I groaned as that tactic was already discovered.
"Now then," Vaggie patted the stool next to her, "be a good boy and take a seat."
"You really don't have to say it like that."
"Sit." She repeated, almost like she commanded me.
Still, she's the Princess' lover, which gave her some authority over me. Plus, I didn't want to have our relationship have a rough start after how angry she was at me earlier. Maybe now was the chance to patch things up. I took a seat next to Vaggie and had my back leaned against the counter, facing over to her.
"So, what would you like to talk about?" I asked straight to the point.
Vaggie exhaled through her nose, leaning against the counter just like I was doing. "WarDog Advisor. Tell me more what this means on how things will be towards you and Charlie."
"Basically, nothing more but acting professional to keep her security in check along with ensuring her life is not in any danger." I answered the simplest way instead of lecturing her with more details she probably didn't want to hear. "I know we had a rough start, and both of us did take some responsibility from that. But I can assure you that I take my job seriously. Even if that means sacrifices would have to be made."
"I know, I know." She twirled her hand around. "I heard from that leader of Vermilion Squad that you are renowned for your actions in an event called "Operation Killjoy" down in the Wrath Ring. Hell, he believes you got a two-rank promotion because of that event alone."
I hid my prideful smile and just nodded my head. "Yeah. That's one of them."
"Give me a quick rundown on what exactly did you do to impress your bosses that day?"
"First phase, we were winning. Second, we got surprised with the odds not working in our favor and retreated. Third, we regrouped. And lastly, we turned the tide of battle again and won." I gave a brief summary of what happened.
"Sorry for suddenly prying too much into your life, but this is important. How long have you served in the Armed Forces in Hell and before that?" She asked for more details even before I was sent to Hell.
"I joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of seventeen, MARSOC when I was twenty, freelance mercenary at twenty-five, served officially in a PMC at twenty-seven, and the WarDogs at twenty-nine." I answered, a bit uncomfortable when I mentioned my days of being a mercenary and a part of a PMC group. "Why are you asking all these questions?"
"Listen, I love Charlie and she means so much to me. I just want to make sure that you really are the real deal on being a WarDog Advisor for those Royal Guardsmen. For me, it's going to take more than just the military saying you're capable."
"I see how you want it. You'd much rather see action instead of words yourself."
"Exactly. Again, it's not like I'm doubting you, Colonel. I just want what is best for her."
My mouth curved a smirk and let out a chuckle. "Quite the supportive girlfriend, you are. But don't worry. The Princess' safety is more important just like all the other Royal Families and Overlords working with them. The last thing I would want to do is fail my job and get court-martialed."
Vaggie nodded as she got the answer she wanted to hear. "Good." She scooted an extra drink towards me and raised her own glass. "Here's to a good one, I suppose."
I raised the glass she gave me and clanged mine with hers. "Uh huh."

(Third-Person POV)
Inside of an office in an undisclosed location, a man with a lit cigarette leaned on his chair with his eyes aimlessly staring up at the ceiling while playing with his lighter. He was dressed in his military uniform with his medals, ribbons, and decorations shining on display. But the piece that outshines the rest of his chest candy was his rank insignia: Colonel and his WarDog patch. The man puffed out smoke after taking in the nicotine and extinguished the cigarette on an ashtray next to his cellphone on the desk. Coincidentally after finishing the cigarette, his phone made a brief ringtone as if a message came through. He picked it up and unlocked it to read what it says and who it was from.
"Confirmed report that Glory Hound is inside the Princess' hotel." The text message read.
The man chortled and formed a small smirk before replying back to the unknown assailant with, "Inform the others. Next phase in the operation will commence sooner than expected."
"Copy." The messenger texted a reply immediately.
The entrance to his office soon opened after receiving the reply. It was the hooded man from earlier in the surveillance footage who went into Hazbin Hotel. Assuming he wasn't a civilian and serving under The Colonel, he gave a short bow to The Colonel while keeping his head concealed with the hoodie, and his hands in his pocket. The main reason for this is because military servicemen never salute outside of their uniform.
"There you are." The Colonel sighed as he leaned back at his seat. "Were you able to plant the device inside of the Princess' Hotel?"
"Yes, sir." The hooded man nodded. "Should be hidden in a pretty good spot, considering there was no interference of anyone tampering with it."
"It better be. Because if we have been made over this, we'll have to start another plan from scratch while the military is in a more watchful state over everything."
The hooded man bowed his head. "This won't fail, I can assure you. I'm just as confident as your number three."
"Good. Because I want this done in a few days to get rid of that dog." The Colonel lifted his legs up on the table, resting them on top. His sharp eyes shifted over to his cellphone on his desk and moved it back to the hooded man. "Speaking of which, I just received a message from her before you walked in."
He tilted his head and folded his arms. "What did she say?"
"Colonel Adler is already in Hazbin Hotel. As expected."
*RING RING RING*
The loud vibration and ringtone of The Colonel's phone on his desk went off as he immediately grabbed it and answered whoever was calling him. His guest stood there patiently as he knew not to interrupt his calls. Especially if it involves military business.
"Hello?...Yes, sir….I'll be there at once….Understood. Goodbye." The Colonel hung up and formed a prideful smile up at his colleagues. "Looks like my ceremony is up next tonight." He said while sipping his can of soda.
"I'll admit. Clever idea for the plan to execute at this moment." The man smiled and took a seat in front of The Colonel.
"Years of experience does this to you." He replied and tossed him a cigarette with a light. "I think Morgan has had his fun time long enough…"
Universe Trivia
Although Sinners are unable to have access into the other Rings of Hell besides the Pride Ring, where they reside in Pentagram City, there is a way to bypass this limitation. If a Sinner chooses to serve in Hell's Royal Military, they will be put through an initiation after graduating that allows them to access all the rings due to their status as the protectors of the kingdom. Members who are dishonorably discharged will have this privilege removed.
The minimum enlistment term for a service member is five years. If he/she chooses to resign from the military after that, their ability to travel across the rings stays the same as a gift for their service, which also benefits the population control in the Pride Ring next to Princess Charlie's Hazbin Hotel. However, if the service member's partner/spouse is a civilian Sinner, he/she would have to remain in the Pride Ring.
