To all my readers, if you don't like the way I write SPD, then you don't have to read it and this goes for all of my Power Ranger fanfics, both current and future ones. I'm not gonna force you to read them.

A word of warning, to those of you who like to announce the next chapter (i.e. episode) title of the fanfic, don't ever do that. It's extremely annoying to me and I don't like it. If you continue to do it again for all of my Power Rangers fanfics, you will be blocked until I have posted more than enough Power Rangers stories in order for me to trust you again. You know who you are because it's not a joke and I'm not playing around. As always, no negativity and Happy Reading!

I DO NOT OWN CHARACTERS OF POWER RANGERS SPD! I ONLY OWN THE OC!

"Does anyone want any toast?" asked Bridge, as he brings over a plate full of it. "It's really buttery…extra buttery."

"Bridge, why do you always wiggle your fingers when you say 'buttery'?" asked Z, showing him what she meant.

"He can't help himself." answered Sky, looking up from his book. "It's ingrained in his cellular makeup."

"That's ridiculous." said Bridge. "I can say 'buttery' without…" He then looks down at his hand as he said the word. He sighs, then tried to stop himself.

"Buttery." he said and suddenly wiggles his fingers.

"Ha!" said Z, pointing at him. Bridge grabs his arm and tries again. "Buttery!" he said and he still wiggled his fingers.

"Hey guys." said Leah as she walks in. "Watcha doin'?"

"Bridge is trying to get himself to stop wiggling his fingers when he says 'Buttery'." said Syd, smiling at the green ranger as she and Z laugh.

"Maybe I can't." said Bridge.

"Bridge won't be able to stop himself no matter how hard he tries." said Leah, plopping down on the couch.

"Oh yeah?" asked Z, interested in where she was going with it. "How so?"

"I learned about this like a couple years ago in school. We all learn something by watching our parents, whether it was something big or something small." explained Leah, looking over at Bridge. "Bridge's parents must have wiggled their fingers to the point where Bridge started doing it himself whenever they had buttered toast."

"Wow. I didn't know that." said Sky.

"Neither did I." said Syd, causing Bridge and Z to shake their heads.

"It's all a part of who we are as individuals, there's no doubt about that." said Leah. "As my mom always keep telling me in Felisan, 'You kujifunza kitu kipya kila siku'." Suddenly Cruger clears his throat, causing the rangers to stand up.

"At ease." he tells them. "Rangers, these last few days have been uneventful. But I caution you…do not let your guard down. Something is brewing. I can feel it. Be at the ready."

"Yes sir."

Cruger then looks around to see that Jack wasn't there. "Where's Jack?" he asked.

"He's in the city. He got bored and decided to go out." said Syd.

"Very well. Carry on." said Cruger.

"Right." said Bridge as he pulls the table with his stack of toast towards him.

"Is that all yours, Carson?" Cruger asked.

"Uh…uh, no, sir." said Bridge, glancing down at the plate. "Uh, well, yeah. Well, I made some for everyone, but nobody wants any."

"You didn't ask me if I wanted any." said Leah.

"Right. Except for Leah." Bridge added, then looks at the sirian. "Do you want some toast? It's really but…"

Bridge then stops himself from wiggling his fingers. "I'll pass." said Cruger, then leaves the room. Bridge looks over at Leah. "You better share that with me, Bridge." said Leah as Bridge gets a grin on his face. "You should know me by now that I never pass up anything like that."

In the city, Jack was by himself and by the looks of it, he looked deep in thought. He looks down the alley when he sees someone pushing a hanger of clothes and walks over to them.

"S.P.D…you're under arrest." said Jack, his morpher out. The person wearing the red ball cap turns around, taking the hat off of her head. "You're a…" Jack started to say.

"A girl?" she asked.

"No." he said as he puts his morpher away. "No, I was gonna say, 'You're a thief'."

"Well, then, I guess we're even, because I'm surprised, you're a cop." she said. "Are you undercover or is that the latest spring uniform you're sporting?"

"I don't like to wear the…" said Jack as he looks down at his outfit, then back at her. "I don't have to answer your questions. You're under arrest for stealing clothes."

"Um, okay. Would you arrest me even if I told you these clothes are gonna be handed out to the poor?"

"Even if I believe that to be true, which I don't, yeah, I'd still arrest you." said Jack. "It's against the law."

"A cop with principles…nice!" said the girl. "Okay, would you arrest me even if I told you I wasn't stealing these? My dad owns the company. We give clothing to the needy out of our good will."

"Yeah. Yeah, I would still arrest you." Jack said. "But I have to admit, it is a good story."

"Well, I hate to burst your inflated badge, bucko, but it happens to be the truth." she tells him and grabs her badge. "The name's Ally Samuels. My dad owns Samuel's clothing. And if you take a look behind that prejudging brain of yours, you'll see our name on the side of the van."

Jack then takes a look at the van and sees that she was telling him the truth. "My bad." said Jack.

"Yes. Yes, it was." said Ally. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work."

"Fine." he said as he starts to walk away, but stops short. "Hey, uh…you don't need any help, do you?"

"Mora. Mora!" said Gruumm in a singing voice. "There you are. I found this lying out in the corridor."

"Thank you." she said in a monotone voice as she takes Cindy Sunshine and throws her over the ramp. "Playtime's over, Cindy."

Mora then looks up at Gruumm. "What terrible thing should we do today, Emperor?" she asked.

"Today will be unlike any other day seen by the unsuspecting rangers." he replied.

"You know…I think Jack had the right idea about getting away from the academy." said Sky as he and Z were walking.

"(Chuckles) the way you're loosening up, Sky, You're almost becoming human." said Z.

Suddenly, a monster appeared before civilians, laughing evilly. "Just what I'm looking for!" he said and aims his laser at them. A couple of people were caught, disappearing into nothing.

"You're mine!" said Delex. People ran around in fear as Z and Sky ran towards him.

"I knew this was too good to last." said Sky.

"Ready!"

"Ready! S.P.D EMERGENCY!"

Sky and Z then ran towards Delex. On the other side of town, Jack was helping Ally. "Hey, thanks." said Jack.

"Thank you." said the alien, receiving the clothing from him.

"Look, Jack, I feel like I owe you an apology." said Ally as she stood in the back of the truck.

"No. No way." said Jack, handing her a box. "I, uh…I want to thank you for giving me the chance to do what I love again."

"Um, look, I don't know if you're busy after, but I make a mean Macaroni and Cheese, so…." said Ally started to say when Jack's morpher went off.

"Jack, we need backup…sector 10." said Kat.

"I got to go. My friends are in trouble." said Jack. "Rain check?"

She nodded and Jack runs off. Sky and Z were knocked to the ground. "Welcome Rangers." said Delex, walking towards them. "But you're not match for me. Let's see, squashing yellow and blue together makes one squashed green ranger!"

"Already have a green ranger, thank you." said Sky and heads straight for Delex.

"You all right, Sky?" Z asked as he was knocked to the ground.

"Yeah." he tells her.

"I'm tired of this game." said Delex, taking a shot against them, laughing as they were knocked to the ground.

"Back off." said Jack taking a shot at him.

"Sky!" shouted Sam and Leah as they ran up to him and Z. Delex raises his arms into the air and lasers were shot at the rangers. "He's gone." said Jack as the smoke clears.

"No duh." said Leah.

"Let's just hope that it's for good." Jack tells her.

Somewhere in Newtech, Broodwing was looking at his merchandise. "Yes." he said as he picks one up. "Batteries charged with human cells are exactly what I need. But I will need many more for my ultimate plan."

"No problem, Broodwing." said Delex. "But how do I know I can trust you? You can turn on me."

"I could, but then why would I give you this?" Broodwing asked, pulling a device out from his cloak.

"An energy accelerator." said Delex.

"Yes." said Broodwing. "No doubt the power rangers will try to stop you. They must not succeed."

"Ha! They are no worry of me." said Delex. "I already beat them."

"Don't let your small victory today mislead you." Broodwing warned him. "Nothing must get in my way of taking control of earth."

Both of them started laughing. Back at the base, Kat was debriefing the rangers. "His name is Delex." said Kat as they were looking at his criminal history. "He's already been judged guilty in 10 galaxies for draining the life force from innocent beings. He is now believed to be working for Broodwing."

"Rangers, I need you out on the streets looking for him." said Cruger. "Team up. I want no ranger out there alone."

He then looks around and sees that one of his rangers is missing. "Hmm, and where is Jack?" he asked.

"He left us after the last attack." said Z. "He said he had some…"

"Well, find him!" ordered Cruger.

"Sir!" said the others, saluting and left the command center.

Out in the city, people's life force were being drained by Delex. "Retrieve batteries." Delex ordered the Krybots as they pulled them off his person. "I'm fully charged." The Krybots were putting the batteries in cases.

"I need more batteries." he said to the foot soldiers. "This is too easy. Krybots, reload."

The Krybots placed empty batteries where the full ones were. "Excellent." he said as he looks over at more people that were coming his way. On a building, Broodwing was happy at his plan.

"My plan is going perfectly." said Broodwing. "Helpless humans, it is your wasted energy that will fuel my takeover of your puny planet."

Just as he said that, more people had disappeared. "More energy!" shouted Delex as he captures them. Suddenly, Sky and Z came down in S.W.A.T. mode. "S.P.D.! You're coming with us." said Sky.

"Oh, really?" Delex asked, turning to face them. Sky and Z ran towards the Krybots, weapons drawn and shooting. Both rangers were outnumbered, but were holding their own until all but Jack showed up in SWAT mode as well.

"Jack's not with you?" asked Bridge.

"We haven't found him anywhere." said Syd.

"I even tried tracking his morpher." said Leah. "But it looks like he turned it off."

"Jack or no Jack, we're gonna have to stop this guy." Sam said.

"Let's get him." said Z and ran at the Krybots.

"Hey! Wait for us!" Sam shouted after her.

"Sir, the rangers have found Delex." said Kat and he walks up behind her.

"And Jack?" Cruger asked.

"Leah tried, but couldn't find him." she explained.

"Well, find him." said Cruger.

Low and behold, Jack was with Ally at the beach, fishing no doubt. "You're doing great." Ally tells him, causing Jack to laugh. His morpher goes off but is too far away to hear what Kat had to tell him.

"Jack? Come in, Jack." said Kat's voice. "The rangers are under attack."

Back in the city, Sky and Z jumped over a group of Krybots to get to Delex. Leah, Bridge, Syd and Sam were dealing with the Krybots. "Fire!" shouted Z and Sky, firing their weapons at Delex, causing him to dodge their fire.

Delex fires back at the two, causing them to get hit. Back at the beach, Jack had a smile on his face. "I cannot tell you the last time I had so much fun." said Jack and Ally pushes him to the side.

"No, tell me." she said, causing the both of them to laugh. Once they had reached their belongings, Jack's morpher was beeping. "Yeah?" said Jack.

"Yeah?" Cruger repeated back to him. "I don't know what you're doing but stop it immediately. Your fellow rangers are under attack."

Jack closes his morpher and looks over at Ally. "Look, I…" he started to say.

"Yeah, I know." she said. "You gotta go."

Jack grabs his things and heads off. "I'm really sorry." He tells her as he walks away.

Sky was rolling on the ground as Z stops in front of him. "You're like pesky ants." said Delex as the others joined Z.

"And you're our picnic." said Sky.

"You're under arrest, Delex." said Z.

"Don't make me laugh." he tells them and attacks, causing them to cry out in pain. Once on the ground, Delex laughs as he walks up to them when suddenly Jack takes his shot at him, causing one of the disks to come off.

"Sorry I'm late." said Jack.

"Jack!" shouted Sky.

"You're here." said Z.

"Yep."

"You're lucky I'm still in pain, Jack." said Leah.

"You ready, Z?" asked Sky.

"I'm ready. Let's do it, Sky." said Z. Delex holds up his weapons and shoots at Sky and Z, who were running towards him.

"I want in on this." said Jack as he jumps into the air and shoots his delta enforcer at Delex. "Give up?"

"Never." said Delex and shoots at the rangers. The rangers returned fire, taking out his spiral weapons. "Phasers!"

"Good work, guys." said Jack once Delex was on the ground.

"You think you have power?" asked Delex as he gets up from the ground. "I'll show you real power."

He then uses the batteries that were in his chest and grew to enormous monster size. "Now what are you going to do?" he asked, looking down at the rangers.

"Suddenly, amending my will sounds good right about now." said Leah as she looks up at him as she and the others gasped.

"Kat?" asked Sky.

"Sending fliers." Kat replied as she dispatches the fliers. Once inside the fliers, the rangers formed the S.W.A.T. Megazord.

"What?!"

Delex then attacks the S.W.A.T. Megazord but the Megazord strikes back with its weapon. "Kick it!" said Jack as he takes the megazord into the air and knocks Delex to the ground. The Megazords weapons were drawn and shots were taken at Delex.

"Let's finish this."

The S.W.A.T. Megazord takes Delex into the sky and away from earth before transforming into a Delta enforcer. "You're wanted in 10 galaxies. Prepare for containment." said Jack.

"Ready! Fire!" shouted the rangers and Delex was destroyed. Back on earth, everyone had returned to where they were taken.

"Excellent job, rangers." said Cruger, as the rangers were in the command center. "Once again you have helped made the galaxy a safer place. Good work. Dismissed."

"Sir!" they said as the rangers saluted.

"Jack, I would like a word with you." said Cruger, causing Jack to stop in his tracks.

"Someone's in trouble." said Sky as he passes him.

"Better now than later, dude." said Leah as she walks over to where Kat was.

"I knew this was coming." muttered Jack, then turns to face the commander. "Yes, sir!"

"What happened out there today?" asked Cruger.

"I'm not sure what you mean, sir." Jack replied. "I showed up and kicked butt…end of story."

"It may be the end of your story, but it's not the end of mine." Cruger tells him. "You were late. You didn't answer you calls. Your fellow rangers were…"

"All right!" said Jack, raising his voice. "I get it. I messed up. I'm sorry."

"Sorry is not going to cut it." said Cruger, angrily. "I want to know what happened and who you were with. Then I want your word that this will never happen again."

"What I was doing out there and who I was doing it with is none of your business." Said Jack. "And as far as my word goes, I can't give you my word. Maybe I'll mess up again. Maybe I won't."

"You have an obligation to me as one of my rangers." Cruger tells him.

"I have done everything you've asked me and more!" shouted Jack. "No, you may not have a life outside of here, but I sure am going to."

"Oh my god…is this going to be me when I'm their age?" asked Leah.

"I certainly hope not." Kat replied.

"If it happens, remind me of this day." said Leah.

Then there was an awkward pause between Jack and Cruger. "Is there anything else, sir?" asked Jack.

"No." said Cruger. "Dismissed.

Jack saluted and left the command center. "Can you believe him, Kat?" asked Cruger.

"Quite frankly, sir…yes." said Kat as she walks over to him. "It took a lot of guts for him to stand up to you like that. And what he said…he does deserve to have a life. Whether this all ends tomorrow, he deserves a life."

"What about the other rangers?" asked Cruger. "What about the safety of earth?"

"His loyalty is not in question." Kat tells him. "But I look at what's going on with you."

Cruger turns and growls at Kat. "Growl as much as you like, but don't ask me if you don't want to hear what's true from me." Cruger then gives Kat an angry look on his face.

"I know, I know." said Kat, raising her hands. "Dismissed."

She then walks back over to the monitor when the alarm goes off. "Kat?" questioned Cruger.

"Sir, the sensors are picking up an S.O.S. signal from Gamma Orion." She replied.

"Send the 'C' squad to investigate." ordered Cruger.

"But, sir, it's coming over the restricted S.P.D. channel." Kat tells him.

"We have got to find them, Kat." said Cruger. "Send the power rangers."

"I'm on it."

Arriving to the planet and in the S.W.A.T. vehicle, Kat checks in. "Rangers, the last reported signal came due west of your position." said Kat. "You should have contact in 22 seconds."

"Stay alert, everyone." Jack said to the others as they got out.

"Whoa!" said Sam. "What is it?"

"It looks like a crashed spaceship." said Bridge.

"And nothing salvageable that I can use." said Leah.

"Could anyone have survived?" asked Syd and in the distance, there was a howl.

"I heard something." said Jack as he heard the howl. "This way."

They followed Jack in the distance of the howl. "Stay focused." He tells them as he scans the area. "All cleared…come on."

The rangers continued towards the crash site with their weapons raised high. Then Sky scans the area. "I'm getting life readings." He said to the others.

"Okay, let's move in." said Jack, nodding. Suddenly out of the trees, something jumps onto Jack.

"What the…!" shouted Leah.

"I can't get a clear shot." said Syd, aiming her weapon at whatever was on Jack. Just before she can try to take a shot, someone had taken it for her. "Troobians!" shouted Sky.

"You guys get him!" said Jack. "I'll handle this one."

"Okay, let's do it." said Sky as he and the others take on the Troobians while Jack takes on the alien who attacked him. Sky and the others took on the Troobians, defeating them one by one. Jack, on the other hand, was still taking on the alien.

"You're under arrest, buddy." said Jack.

"Any more questions about his loyalty?" asked Kat.

"His loyalty was never in question." said Cruger. Z and Syd had dragged him against a tree. "You stay there." said Z.

"Okay, Sky, let's take a look." said Jack as he and Sky walked up to the wreckage. "We'll have to blast our way in. Fire."

"Look, there's someone in there!" said Syd once the doors finally opened.

"No way!" said Sky as six people staggered out, groaning.

"The 'A' squad." said Z.

"They're alive." said Bridge.

"Yeah!" said Syd.

"Whoa!" said Leah and Sam.

"Let's give them a hand." said Jack as they go up to them. "You okay?"

"You're gonna be alright." said Sky as he catches the 'A' green ranger.

"Thank goodness." said Syd.

"Power down." said the 'A' squad red ranger and Jack looks shocked.

"You're a girl." said Jack.

"Red's a girl?" asked Sky.

"Why am I not surprised?" asked Leah, shaking her head.

"Right on!" said Syd and Z as they high fived each other.

"You got a problem with that?" The ranger asked, looking at Jack.

"No. I'm cool." Jack said.

Back at the base, 'A' squad stood in front of 'B' squad, Omega and Cruger. "A joyous day for S.P.D. Well done, 'B' squad." said Cruger.

"Welcome back, 'A' squad." said Kat as she walks down the line. "I need to prepare your post medicals. I will see you shortly. Nice job, guys. Thank you."

"Thank you again, cadets." Cruger said to 'B' squad. "You have filled in nicely, but now I need to speak to the 'A' squad. 'B' squad, you are dismissed."

"Uh, but sir…" said Jack as he steps forward.

"I said, 'You are dismissed'." said Cruger.

"Yes, sir." They said, saluting and filed out of the command center. Before leaving the command center, Bridge read their aura as Leah hissed at them in a low tone. "'A' squad, so much has happened in your absence." said Cruger as Bridge and Leah finally left the command center. "We'll begin your debriefing right away."

"You've got to be kidding me." said Jack, angrily as he and the others entered the common room. "'B' squad? When was the last time Cruger called us 'B' squad? I mean, we worked our butts off all year, and then we're ordered to leave the command center like some 'D' squad newcomer?"

"I don't like it better than you, Jack." said Sky. "None of us do, but we knew that if 'A' squad returned, this was going to happen."

"That doesn't mean we have to like it." said Z. Just then, Bridge and Leah walked in with the youngest ranger's hands curled up.

"Bridge, Leah, how are you two feeling?" asked Jack but both ignored his question.

"Bridge. Leah." said Sky, calling their names.

"Oh, sorry." Said Bridge.

"What's with you curling your fingers?" Syd asked Leah and only got a growled in replied.

"I was just thinking." Bridge started saying. "I have a really bad feeling, guys. Kind of like the feeling I had before."

[Flashback]

Bridge scans the aura of the 'A' squad as they run past him, Syd and Sky.

"Their energy, their color…something's off." said Bridge.

[Flashback ends]

"And after being gone all that time, wasn't it a little too easy the way we just happened to find them?" Bridge asked.

"Yeah, well, that's not our problem." said Jack. "Our problem is that we're 'B' squad, the reserves, zord clean up detail. We do all the work, and they're probably in the command center getting all these medals from Cruger."

"It is good to have you back, rangers. I had feared the worst." said Cruger as he walks by 'A' squad. "I have many questions for you, and you have may have as many for me."

Unknowingly, Charlie, the red ranger, looks at her squad and gives them a look. They morphed while Cruger's back was turned. "But for now, welcome back." Cruger said.

"You'll be coming with us, Commander Cruger. You have an appointment with Emperor Gruumm." she said to the sirian as all six 'A' squad rangers point their weapons at him.
