Chapter 53: Rigging A Squad Car
The squad car parked in the department's parking lot. The deputies got out and went inside the station. Chelsea observed them through the gate. She managed to sneak in while the gate opened.
It was going to be tricky to try and rig a squad car.
Security cameras from the layout of the place were still good. It was good thing that she bought ski mask Like a cat she careful to avoid the cameras. Chelsea tiptoed to the target car.
She popped the hood of the car, Chelsea had to be delicate when setting the device. The device was to be placed on the battery. According to the person who she bought from the one who sold it to her. "Okay, here we go". Chelsea carefully placed the device on the battery. "Almost there". After a moment the device is finally attached, Chelsea closes the hood. She hears the deputies coming back "Shit" she cursed quietly. Chelsea takes cover behind another car. She waits patiently as they get back in their car. The gate opens as the squad car leaves, Chelsea slips through the gate safely. She crosses the street to a nearby alley.
"Hey Sunny, I put that thing on that cop car" Chelsea took off her mask "Alright, we're all set for this thing. By tomorrow this is going to go down" "Right, money for a bunch of dirty cops".
"Yeah, I know" Sunny hangs up.
Chelsea could smell Barbecue, she hadn't eaten lunch all day. She may as well get something good to eat.
...
Sunny and Geraldine play around with Tiger.
They took some time off before the heist is supposed to begin the following day.
"Aw that's a good kitty" Sunny coos as she rubs his belly.
A peculiar subject is on Geraldine's mind. It was that dream that she had the previous night. It was the thing that didn't leave her alone the whole night. "Hey Sunny, can I ask you a question?" Sunny looked at her "Sure, what is it?". It took a moment for Geraldine to phrase her question as best she could "How did you know...that you liked girls?". Sunny looked at her speechless "Uh...hmm? That's quite a question, er well, it didn't begin when I went inside the joint. I was always like that and just, I don't know, liked girls as more than friends". Geraldine simply nodded "Why are you asking me that? That's kind a weird thing to ask me". For a minute or two Geraldine wondered if she should tell her about that dream. "Uh see I have a friend from I used to live. Her name is-Terrie" she quickly made up a name "See, Terrie likes her friend; more than just a friend. Her friend-G-G-Gina," Geraldine made up the other name "but Terrie doesn't know how to feel about that and she's kinda confused since the two have always been friends.
"So what do I-I mean, what should she do?".
Sunny finished petting Tiger "Well, she needs to sit her down and tell her how she feels, who knows; maybe that girl likes her back"."Maybe you're right, I gotta sit Reggie and talk to her" Geraldine accidentally gives herself away "I didn't say it was you" Sunny looked at her with her head cocked to the side "Uh..." Geraldine stammered "Geraldine? Do you want to tell me what's really on your mind? Aside from you liking your friend more than just a friend" Sunny smiled at her. Tiger hopped up onto Sunny's lap "Mm..." Geraldine turned red "Look, I'm not-gay" she whispered. Sunny snickered "Geraldine, come on, there's nothing wrong being gay" she assured her "Look, I never licked carpet before" Sunny raised her eyebrow at her when she said that remark "I'm deeply hurt" "Sorry, I didn't mean it like that" "Geraldine relax, I'm just messing with you" Sunny chuckles.
"I just don't know how to feel about it" Geraldine felt confused "Have you dated guys before?" Sunny asked "Yeah, a few, they were alright. But I didn't feel anything with them, shit, some of them weren't good. You know, no good.
I just stopped datin' after a while. Then my bounty huntin' thing came and just didn't have time-".
"I get it" Sunny finally deduced "You're bi". Geraldine looked at her confused "What?" "You know, bisexual".
"I know what you mean. But I don't know about datin' girls" "You dated guys but you're only attracted to your friend, you just never knew how to deal with it". Geraldine was taken aback "I mean-I-I like her because we were always friends and we were always close to each other, it's just...I never imagined likin' her like that...' she felt so unsure of herself "How did you know that your girlfriend was right for you when you two met?".
Sunny hummed to herself "Well, it wasn't just because I saved her from a couple of scumbags. After that I couldn't stop thinking about her after we first met. Within a few days we went on our first date. One thing leads to another, and boom, we moved in together; everything started to fall in place; life just got better after that". Geraldine had some sense of understanding "What do I do?" she questioned "Like I said just sit down with her and talk". Geraldine hummed "Something happened between you two after you moved into your house, didn't it?".
"We...had a fight" Geraldine felt ashamed "And we're not speakin' to each other". Sunny looked at her with confusion "What happened?" "She wanted me to help her out with that stash she stole. Reggie said somethin' about you and shit went down".
"About me?" "She sounded jealous or somethin', Reggie just thinks she knows more than you. I just fuckin' yelled at her and shit went down hill after that". Sunny pets Tiger on the head "Did you consider bringing Reggie into the fold? You know, her doing jobs with us? I think it'd be a great way for her to get some experience" she suggest "No. I mean, she's great with guns but I don't know, she's just-I don't know, okay?" Geraldine says with a shake of her head "I'm just surprised you never introduced your friend to me".
Geraldine scoffed "It was always her and me, we've been like that since we was kids. We were always that close. Then this comes along and we just drifted apart after that". Tiger went over to his master "She was always a better friend than my friend. At least she's loyal and cares about you, maybe she'll come around and who knows, maybe you'll get ride off into the sunset with her when the time comes". Geraldine finally understood "Thanks, you're a bad ass friend" she praised Sunny "No problem. And you're what now?" Sunny smiled at her "Mm...b-b-bi-bi" Geraldine quietly whispered "Come on. You can say it. You're not a lesbian but you're what...? Come on; it begins with a B. You're...?" she played with her smile "I'm bisexual" Geraldine finally declared "Happy?" Geraldine finally laughed. "See, was that so hard?" Sunny herself laughed "Yeah, well, it wasn't easy. I never kissed a girl, guessin' you won't give any advice on that?" "Don't push it" Sunny snickered.
Chelsea finally drove her in and she came in with a cardboard tray of food "Alright, I managed to buy some good stuff from a Barbecue joint across the bacon factory. Here you two go" she handed Sunny a BBQ meatloaf sandwich and gave Geraldine a pulled pork sandwich "Damn this looks good" Geraldine grabbed a pile a curly fries "Come on, let's eat up" Chelsea unwrapped her her Sloppy Jo and grabbed her onion rings.
The three eat their food. The coyotes look from afar. The three look at their weapons.
Tomorrow was going to be their day.
And like it or not, it was a job that they were going to perform to a T.
