A quick reminder: If something still happens normally like the original, then I will only put out the implication and not write any further.
To ImaginativeFury: A combination of own mistakes, working in French-native environment temporarily and Word not registering it as a mistake caused that XD Also, the right word I wanted to use is 'rough'.
"I think I prefer knowing how to Apparate like you. No swirling visions or distortions, just see this place and *Pop*!"
"That requires a lot more concentration of power than you can, mister Sirius. No offense."
"Oh it's fine! Your demonstration yesterday gave us enough to know that you're better than us!"
As what has been planned, the wizard group and Harry's family return back to London so they can buy Harry his new items for the new school year. Since Fawkes is still recovering, the male guardian takes the matter into his hands and teleports them all to the front of the Leaky Cauldron. The wizards are a bit surprised at first, but when they notice that the Muggles around them don't even bat an eye on them, they know that somehow they're invisible. Either the wards of the pub still work or the guardians did something.
"I'm afraid this is when I have to say goodbye." The Headmaster suddenly speaks up as he receives Fawkes from Hagrid. "There are some business back in school, and I have already used up my holiday yesterday."
"You need more than that, sir." Hagrid says with a hearty tone. "Don't worry. I will get that job done."
"Thank you Hagrid. And wish you luck for your first year in Hogwarts Harry." The others start saying their goodbye, and the old man waves back before Apparating himself back to the school.
"So we're in Diagon Alley?" Harry changes the topic.
"Not exactly." Remus replies in a low voice and pushes the door of the Leaky Cauldron open. "We need to come inside first. The entrance is at the back."
Hagrid enters first, and Harry follows next. He looks around and sees the pub being dark and somehow shabby. He suspects that it's just a theme of this place, and he feels that being true when he takes a look at the customers: most of them are elders and their clothes style is similar to what he has read in the fairy tales. Though maybe the Gamekeeper is a regular guest here, because they start waving at him and smiling.
The bartender is already reaching for some glasses as he also notices other famous wizards and he calls: "Good to see you healthy, Hagrid. Care for some drinks?"
"Can't, Tom. Hogwarts business."
Upon eyes meet eye, Harry gives the bartender a nod and a smile as his greeting. And it seems it's enough for the person before him to notice who he is. "Good Lord! Is this… can this be…"
Whatever sounds surrounding them stop at once. Harry looks around again and sees that everyone's focus is now on him. Before he could say anything, Sirius pats his back and slightly pushes him a bit towards and says: "Yep, it's James' son, and he's doing fine. We didn't lie, see?"
Tom quickly gets out from his bar and starts shaking his hands while whispering in tears about how he's honored to meet him. And not just him, as the others also start doing the same thing. Harry now understands why both of his guardians preferred to not write anything much about him anywhere in their world.
He then meets Professor Quirrell, introducing himself that he's teaching Defense Against Dark Arts this year and how he's pleased to meet him, and he feels something is off about his stuttering. Though he decides to not question it and just accepts his current 'fate' to greet everyone.
Eventually Sirius and Remus stop the crowd and they finally head to the courtyard of the pub. Sirius then speaks: "Look how famous you are, Harry. People are really concerned for your well-being."
"Can I ask about that Professor?" Kurome has the same feeling as the boy. "His stuttering is strange."
"The poor bloke. Brilliant mind. Got some problems when he took off to get firsthand experience." Hagrid answers. "Now scared by everything. Okay, where's my umbrella?"
Both Sirius and Lupin can see T.O not expressing any feelings on his face, though that's mostly what they saw after the previous day so they don't question it.
Harry watches the half-giant tapping the wall in front of them with his umbrella, and when he's done, the bricks start moving and opening a way for them to head into Diagon Alley as Hagrid welcomes them.
It's no strange to the little boy when it comes to magic, but his ten-year-old mind is still marveled by new discoveries, and it's no exception when he watches items that normally don't show on the front in Gamindustri. The fact that it's an 'underground' street with everything running purely on magic and that he never encountered too many cramped streets before excites him for the first time. Cauldrons, flying broomsticks, magical pets and so on are displayed around him, and he wishes that he can quickly explore them on his own.
"Can the bank register us as his guardians?" Kurome's question towards Remus brings Harry back to his group. "I doubt things like that could be done there."
"As long as the report gets back to the Ministry. Besides, Gringotts is the only bank in Britain, so all currency records can only come from there. Though this is more of a formality for you guys, considering you won't use much money here except Harry."
"But what would happen if someone tried to break into…"
"Ah, Harry. No one dared to do so." Sirius replies as the group gets closer to the building. "Because…"
As the Animagus says, Harry also sees the creatures guarding before the bank. They bow down and open the door of the bank so the group can enter. Within the building, he sees more of them working around, examining all kinds of jewelry and measuring their values, or some are guiding other wizards to where they want to go…
"So they value 'their' properties very seriously."
"That's an understatement, mister T.O." Remus comments. "But I suppose you know how far they can go to make sure things are not stolen from them."
Upon reaching the main counter, Hagrid talks to the old goblin behind it: "Morning! We've come to take money from Mister Harry Potter's safe, and register his parents' authorities to use it."
The goblin looks at the group, his eyes focusing on the 'seemingly young' couple standing behind the boy. He then asks: "Do you have the key, sir?"
"Oh, here…" Hagrid starts searching in his pocket, and after a few seconds he pulls out a small key and gives it to the goblin, along with a piece of paper. "Also a letter from Headmaster Dumbledore. It's about the You-Know-What in vault seven-hundred-and-thirteen."
That perks the boy's interest, and Kurome clearly sees his sparkling eyes. "No, Harry, that's the old man's business, don't think of poking your head in."
"Mom…"
"It's a serious matter, Harry."
"...Fine, Dad."
That confirms for the goblin that the duo is, somehow, Harry's parents. "...I take it that they're the ones?"
"They are." Remus answers.
"...Very well. The process will take a while…"
"Is it necessary for Harry to stay with us?" Kurome questions, which earns her a head shake. "Then he can go with the others to get the money. T.O and I will deal with the necessary papers."
"...If you insist. Griphook!"
The trip to the underground goes 'soundly' as the boy tries asking the wizards what's in the 'not his' vault. They playfully avoid answering him then say that he shouldn't ask further since it's 'a secret'. Unfortunately that even gets him hyped up more, however, he does shut up and keep it to himself, intending to find out himself.
After grabbing the money he needs (and he learns the money systems are too complicated for its own good), he also sees the small package that Hagrid takes from the final vault, and he starts thinking of all things as big as his palm. And he manages to pick out a few items…
"Don't try to blackmail them."
"I'm not planning to, Dad." The boy says sarcastically as both his guardians disapprovingly glance at him as the group gets out of Gringotts.
"We should get him the uniform then the wand. Those things need some time to do some measures." Sirius suggests, then sees Hagrid heading back to Leaky Cauldron. "Poor him. Can't take that trip down to hell." He jokes.
"It's fun, though!"
"For you, Harry." Remus chuckles. "Even we have trouble holding our stomach."
"I will check on Hagrid and return when he's okay." T.O says, and heads out to the half-giant before anyone else could say a word about it.
"Jeez, always doing work behind the scenes." Kurome shakes her head. "Where's the clothes shop?"
"Madam Malkin's. From what I can tell, Hogwarts kids always go there for their robes."
…
"That can only be Malfoy's son."
"Given your tone, Sirius, you don't like him?"
"I don't know much about the son, miss Kurome, but we have bad blood since that family used to serve the Dark Lord before his fall."
When Harry had his measuring started, Madam Malkin suggested the adults take a look around the alley to buy some of his items while waiting, so they did. After returning back (with T.O and Hagrid still missing) Harry has told them about the other kid he met in the shop during the measuring. Given how Harry described the boy, both Remus and Sirius instantly recognized him.
"I don't like him." He pouts while putting his hands on the back of his head. "He's so bratty. Even more annoyed than Nep."
"Like father, like son then." Sirius concludes. "Can't blame the child. The Senior is already a handful to deal with."
"At least don't pick a fight with him." Remus warns. "Not that you can't, but you shouldn't."
"I'm not going to do so unless he provokes first. And I doubt he can punch like Peashy."
"She's an exception." Kurome adds. "Under normal circumstances, no one can beat her in punching."
"...Do I actually need a wand?" Harry questions. "I mean, I can do spells with my fingers. And I do have one that…"
"Would either overload or not perform spells if used on different systems." The Dark CPU interrupts. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
"How do you even know that quote?" Remus asks curiously.
"Blame Croire and T.O for their knowledge."
They walk through the door of Ollivander's Wand Shop, and they are immediately spooked as the owner emerges from a dark corner of the shop with his eyes seemingly shining. "Good afternoon, customers."
"...Well, hello, sir." Harry replies back, watching the old man move to them.
"Ah, yes. I'm glad to see you, Harry Potter." He starts reminiscing about the time he sold wands to his birth parents, to 'the one giving him the scars', and to the wizard duo. Then, he sees the only girl in the group that he hasn't met before, and he asks: "Young lady, my words may sound rude, but I have never seen you in my shop before, and you seem to be in…"
"The priority is to buy Harry a new wand. However, if possible, I would like to see if there's one that suits me." The CPU decides to use her airy voice to make the message go through clearly.
"Hm… if you say so." The old wizard has a suspicion that this girl is not totally human. He has met a few Veela in his life and some other creatures in human form, but he never saw someone like her. "Mister Potter, which is your wand arm?"
"Ehm… can a wand be used on both arms?" The boy asks innocently as he raises both his arms up. He has seen Rom and Ram occasionally changing their wands in different hands to practice magic, but he doesn't know if it actually affects the performance.
"I have tried making those before." The wandmaker decides to measure both arms while checking for a wand, or two, that might fit for the boy. "Unfortunately, none can give out a good result like the ones that focus on one-arm-only."
"Understandable." Kurome nods.
After a minute of consideration, Ollivander pulls out a stack of wands and puts them on the table, then starts offering them for Harry to test on. Though, he can only swing each once (or even just merely touch it) before the owner instantly pulls it back and replaces it with others. He takes a quick look of curiosity back to his adopted mother, and sees that she's also having the same expression.
"A tricky customer, I see." Normally a shopkeeper would be annoyed by a customer for testing too many items, but not here. In fact, the old man looks happier every time he snatches the previous wand back and gives him a new one. "We will find a perfect match for you… maybe two." He starts searching for the wands again, and he decides to make a bold decision and pulls out two specific wands for Harry to test. "Holly with phoenix feather, eleven inches, nice and supple. Blackthorn and dragon heartstring, ten inches, sturdy." The man then winks at Harry, who knows what needs to be done next.
The two Marauders watch as the boy picks the wands using his right and left hand respectively, and they all feel the surge of power coming from him. And to exceed their expectations, when Harry moves both wands up in synchronization, white and black light lazily leave the tips of the wands and swirl around each other then emerge, creating a small *BANG* then turn into small sparks that fall down harmlessly.
"Light and Dark. I wonder why." Kurome says with a sarcastic smile as Harry lowers down the wands.
"Wands always choose their wizards, not the other way around." Ollivander starts packing the other wands away as he explains. "However, it's very curious. The one in your right hand, mister Potter, shared the same core with the one that gave you the scar."
That surprises the other wizards, while it makes the CPU raise her eyebrows in curiosity.
"The other doesn't have anything special, but… given the characteristics of its materials, I'm surprised that it also accepts young Potter." The wandmaker then asks the wizards: "Do your wands need maintenance?" He earns head shakes. "Young lady, can you raise your wand hand up?"
The CPU complies and raises her right arm up. Ollivander slowly brings the tape to the arm… and immediately pulls back the moment their hands touch. "...What is it?" She has a small idea what might occur.
"...I am afraid no wands here can help you." The old wizard finally understands why he never saw her before. "You are… not human. You are something more."
"Well… he isn't wrong." Harry says cheekily.
"But I can still use the wands, correct?" Kurome asks, just to confirm her suspicion.
"...Unless you want to handicap yourself, then be my guest."
"Interesting."
"That… is a lot of items you have bought." T.O comments as the 'family' looks at the amount of stuff Harry pulls out from his personal pocket dimension. "Also, dual-wanding? Really Harry?"
"Hey! There's no rule that a wizard can only have one wand! And do you think I can fight monsters here with just one?"
"That's… not the point I'm talking about."
"And yes, I'm following Big Nep and miss IF's styles." Harry smiles proudly.
"Figure."
When the group finished with their shopping, T.O joined and addressed that he had sent Hagrid back to Hogwarts safely for the reason that everyone in the group knew why (including Harry). The wizards then said their goodbyes with a promise of sending him birthday gifts soon, and the male guardian sent the 'family' back to their world.
T.O then picks up a book that's not in the list of the required items for the first year and asks: "Kurome, did you buy this book on purpose?"
"Given how that 'Professor' stuttered during his speech and how Hagrid described him, I doubt he can teach the subject very well. Besides, you need to know what Dark Arts is before defending against it, correct?"
"Hm… I see your point."
"So I can bring it with me?" Harry asks curiously.
"I see no reason for us to hold on to it. I suggest you not read it as 'passing-time activity'."
"And you expect me to not do that?"
"We fully expect you to do so to screw with people." T.O says, earning a nod from his partner. "Doesn't take a genius to know that both you and Anonydeath are responsible for all the Noires' leaked 'behind the scenes' cosplay images."
All Harry can do is to stick his tongue out sheepishly, admitting his 'crimes'.
"You boys can continue your talk. I'm going to make dinner." The Dark CPU decides to let the two sort out the items as she walks out of the living room and heads to the kitchen.
"Having a fun day?"
"You saw everything, you should know." Not looking directly at the fairy, Kurome starts searching for food to make meals.
"His next years are going to be challenging."
"Suits him well. Gathering mobs' bosses for fun is proof."
"Or running away after either embarrassing Lastation CPU or enraging Lowee CPU."
"That too… we all know what will happen next."
"And you won't directly intervene unless he's completely at the mercy of Death."
"Correct."
Back in the living room, T.O and Harry start organizing the items into his watch (even pocket dimension gets messy overtime) as the older one says: "I won't stop you from performing magic like how you usually do here. However, if you are in lessons, I suggest you stick to the professors' instructions first."
"Seeing Miss MAGES.'s experiments blowing up over and over gave me that idea long ago."
"...Do you think it's better to keep everything in the watch, or put them in a briefcase like other wizards?"
"I thought you like things to be convenient?"
"Want to explain why you keep changing between the hoverboard and normal skateboard?"
"...You have a fair point. I will do both."
"Your uncle is laughing at me right now."
"I know. He's behind you right now. Good evening Uncle!"
"Hey kid! Ready to meet new friends?"
"Of course! The more the merrier!"
T.O sighs as he turns and looks at his identical, smiling face behind him. "Other than trying to make me 'bond' with Kurome…"
"And checking on little Harry and checking if you're not getting rusty after living in mortal realm for quite a long time…" In response to that, T.O thrusts the handle right at the person who swiftly blocks with his hand no problem, both not moving anything but their hands. "Just want to see the fun directly."
"Out." The man laughs and walks away, after giving Harry a good head-rubbing. "Why isn't he the one raising you?"
"Oh you know the answer, Dad… About my scar…"
"...Still can't tell you about it, I'm afraid."
I used the Wiki to check the core and the wood's characteristics, so if anything is wrong in the future then I blame the website.
