Chapter 9: USJ Aftermath and A Plumbers Rage

Iida arrived with the teachers of U.A. shortly after All Might's arrival. But all the teachers were surprised that the incident was already resolved by Mario and his friends.

"Would you look at that. Seems that our new hires took care of things before even All Might arrived." Midnight said.

"It would appear so. It is quite fortunate that Mario and his friends were here to prevent any casualties." Nezu said as Vlad lifted him off of his shoulders and onto the ground. "But the job is not over yet. Go around the disaster areas and help any of our students and arrest any villains you come across."

"Yes sir!" The teachers replied.

That is when Nezu noticed All Might carrying an injured Aizawa and Thirteen.

"Oh dear. Ectoplasm, if you would be so kind as to help Aizawa and Thirteen to the infirmary."

"Of course."

Ectoplasm created four clones to help his fellow teachers.

"My arm is damaged, not my legs, so I can still walk." Aizawa said as All Might put him down. "Thirteen seems to have gotten the worst of it. Help her."

The Ectoplasm clones carried Thirteen to the infirmary while Aizawa followed. Nezu then turned to Mario who was still being praised by the students.

"Mario, I'll need a report on what happened here."

"Okie dokie." Mario said with a thumbs up.

In an unknown bar

A portal opened up and Shigaraki and Kataguri came out of it. Shigaraki was still angry that some random mustache man was able to humiliate him so much. He was furiously scratching his neck when.

"So how did it go?" An unknown voice came from a tv screen showing static and "audio only" on it.

"You lied master. That Nomu was pathetic!" Shigaraki yelled.

"I did not lie, it appears that we were wrong about All Might weakening."

"It didn't even get the chance to fight All Might! It was defeated by two mustached freaks!"

"What!? It couldn't even defeat some no name hero? This is a travesty." Another voice said.

"No, we just underestimated our new adversaries. We will monitor Mario, Luigi and Peach more closely. The files you obtained were very helpful Tomura and my own connections can provide me with all the information I need on these three."

"So we can attack soon? Get our revenge?" Shigaraki asked.

"Yes, but not too soon. For now rest, learn from this experience and be ready for our next step in destroying this corrupt society."

"By the way, where is Nomu?" The other voice asked.

"He was captured by the one in green. There was nothing I could do." Kurogiri answered.

"A shame, but we have others." The voice known as master said. "I must return to the shadows Tomura. Remember, you must become a symbol of your own. One to strike fear into the hearts of the heroes."

"Yes master." Shigaraki said as the tv screen went black.

Unknown location

We see a man hooked up to various medical devices going over the files for Mario, Luigi and Peach.

"You must be eager to obtain their quirks master." An unseen person said.

"Oh I would be doctor. If they had a quirk to steal. According to these reports they don't have quirks." The master said.

"What? How is that possible?"

"I'm not sure, but I have some theories. If they are correct then I will need some assistance in defeating these new heroes."

The master then looked at a news article that was going over the disappearance of Mirko.

"And I think I know just who to ask."

Back at U.A.

The police had arrived and after taking statements from the students, All Might, Mario, Luigi and Peach they were loading up the villains in police transports.

"Okay that just about does it." Detective Tsukauchi said as he turned to Luigi. "Now all we need is Nomu. If you can hand over your vacuum cleaner."

"It's-a not a vacuum cleaner it's the poltergust and I can't just give it up. It's a very special piece of equipment."

"We will give it back."

"How about I go with you and release Nomu in a cell."

"Fine."

While Tsukauchi was annoyed he remembered that the details of the agreement between the police force and hero department with the residents of the mushroom kingdom any items or equipment that Mario Luigi or Peach had would stay in their possession and would not be given over for research or other purposes. While he wanted to say his department was trustworthy he saw the hungry look in eyes of the heads of the hero department when the representative explained how much more advance the Mushroom Kingdom appeared to be. He could understand that Luigi didn't want to risk the department taking the Poltergust for their own purposes.

As Luigi went with a officer with the appearance of a cat class 1-A were talking amongst themselves.

"So Kirishima how did you Bakugo and Todoroki end up next to that building?" Asui asked.

"Oh well me and Bakugo finished off our villains and went towards the center to help out. But by the time we got there Mario and Luigi had already taken care of things." Kirishima responded.

"What about you Todoroki?" Asui asked again.

"Similar, I defeated all the villains around me and got information from one of them."

"Yeah it was so cool. I was around the area also and he beat them all with a huge wave of ice." Hagakure said.

"I didn't even know she was there. I could've frozen her by accident." Todoroki thought to himself.

"While your intentions were noble it would've probably been better if you stayed back instead. Since Mario had to save you two of the villains got away." Asui stated.

"What was that!? Are you calling me weak frog face!?" Bakugo yelled.

"Am I wrong?" Asui asked before letting out a ribbit.

Bakugo just stomped off not wanting, or able, to argue with the frog girl. With that all the students were sent home after being notified that the teachers were fine and none of the students were injured.

The next day

School was out for the day while the police investigation was going on. Peach was coming out of a tea house relaxing after yesterday's events. She was now in casual clothing, a pair of blue jeans and a pink long sleeve shirt with dark pink heels. As she was walking out onto the sidewalk a little girl bumped into her.

"I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Peach asked as she bent down.

However when Peach saw the girl she noticed that she had various bandages on her arms and legs. She also noticed that the girl appeared terrified and was on the verge of tears. Before she could say anything the little girl grabbed onto Peach.

"Please help me." The girl said.

As Peach was holding onto the girl many questions were going through her head. What happened to her, who did this to her and why. But before she can think on these thoughts any further someone broke her out of her pondering.

"There you are."

Peach looked up and saw a young man with a dark coat on, white gloves and a strange plague doctors mask on. When the girl saw him she clung onto Peach even harder.

"You really are troublesome. Thank you for finding my daughter. I'll take her now." The man said.

"She's your daughter?" Peach asked.

"Yes."

"Why is she so terrified of you?"

"She's afraid of punishment. Something all children are when they act bad."

"And why is she wounded?"

"She's a rambunctious child. She's constantly hurting herself by playing games I tell her not to play."

"We should really take her to a hospital."

The man seemed to be getting annoyed before he let out a deep sigh.

"Alright, let's go."

Peach then followed the man while the girl clung onto her. As they were going into an alleyway the man started to pull off his gloves. The girl tried to let go of Peach and run to the man, but Peach held on to the girl and was ready for what was coming next.

"You should have minded your own business." The man said as he thrusted his hand at Peach.

But Peach ducked under his attack and smacked his feet out from under him. As he was falling Peach kicked him away and then scooped up the girl and ran. When she was far enough away she began to jump up the buildings and then floated away on her umbrella.

"No! Bring her back!" The man yelled.

Peach landed in an alleyway a few blocks away. As she was looking around the man came out of the darkness.

"You bitch!" He yelled as he grabbed Peach's face, but she poofed out of existence. "What, a clone? No!"

As the real Peach landed near the house she was staying at with the girl she looked back.

"Thank goodness for double cherries. Now how about you tell me your name." Peach asked the girl.

"It's Eri." The girl meekly said.

"That's a nice name. Now why was that man after you? And is he really your father?"

Eri hushed up at these question. Too afraid to answer.

"Okay then. Let's go inside. I know someone who can help."

Peach walked inside to where Mario and Luigi were watching the news discuss the USJ incident.

"Hey Peach." Mario greeted.

"Hello Mario. What are you watching?"

"The news. Did you know some people are actually blaming us for the attack?" Luigi said.

"No, what are they saying?"

"They're saying that we might be spies for the villains. They are using the fact that we appeared shortly before the attack as evidence."

"That's weak evidence. It was just a coincidence."

"Yeah, don't-a worry. Nezu said he would handle it." Mario said before he noticed the little girl grabbing onto Peach. "Who's this?"

"This is Eri and she's in trouble."

"How?" Mario and Luigi asked.

"Some strange man is after her and she's too scared to tell me why."

"I can help with that."

Mario walked up to Eri who was scared.

"Don't worry." Peach said. "He's a good friend."

Eri was still scared but calmed down at Peach's words. Mario then placed his hat on Eri and then flew into Eri. Eri's red eyes then changed to blue and she grew a mustache. As Peach and Luigi watched and waited tears began to drop from Eri's eyes. Mario then flew out and he had an air of sadness and anger. He then put on a smile and patted Eri's head.

"It's-a going to be okay now Eri. We'll protect you." Mario said.

"You promise?" Eri asked with pleading eyes.

"Of-a course."

Later that night after Eri was put to sleep in Peach's bed Mario explained everything he saw in Eri's mind. He told them of all the horrors Eri has endured. How the man, Overhaul, was not her father and was using his quirk on her for his experiments. And how her own mother abandoned her after Eri's quirk manifested. Peach and Luigi were shocked at this. Luigi just sat in stunned silence while Peach had tears rolling down her cheeks.

"How cruel. How can someone do that to a child?" Peach asked.

"It's her quirk." Mario said. "She has the power to rewind people. From what I was able to gather from her memories it appears this Overhaul person wanted to weaponize it. That's why he doesn't want to let her go."

"Oh my. What do you want to do Mario?"

"What I'd said I'd do. I'm going to protect her."

"But Mario, what about the police around here? They'll want to take her into foster care or something." Luigi said.

"I won't let them Luigi. They already failed her and I won't let that happen again."

Peach and Luigi were confused by Mario's words.

"From her memories I saw this wasn't her first attempt at an escape. She's done so before but the police or heroes she went to would turn their back on her and believe Overhaul's words about him being her father. The few who did try to follow up met a terrible fate."

"Is it his quirk?" Peach asked.

"Yeah, from what I saw he can destroy anything he touched with his hands and reassemble it how he wants. That's how he experimented on Eri."

"You mean?"

"This little girl has come face to face with death more times than most adults."

"That's-a awful. Well, you don't have to protect her alone bro. I'll help!" Luigi said.

"Me too." Peach added in.

"Thank you. Now let's go to sleep."

With that Mario and his friends went to bed to prepare for the next day. When the morning came Mario called Nezu and explained what happened. While Nezu didn't like the fact Mario wasn't going to hand this girl to the authorities he understood his reasons. Nezu told Mario that he would get started on the paperwork but the police department and the hero association would try to take Eri into their custody. But Mario was firm that he wouldn't let that happen. They failed her already and he wouldn't fail her as well. Mario Luigi and Peach took Eri to the mall to get new clothes for her. Luigi went to the food court to get something for everyone while Mario watched Peach and Eri. While he was doing this someone approached him.

"Quite the family. You must be a proud father and husband." The man said.

"Oh no. It's-a not like that." Mario replied.

"Really? But you seem so close."

"Well it's-a complicated. The woman is a close friend and the girl has gone through a lot."

"So then she's not your daughter? Maybe you should return her to her family then."

"It's-a not that easy. You see the last person who claimed to be her "father" was..."

"Someone who knew her true value and wants her back, now." The man said his tone much more threatening.

Mario turned his head to see Overhaul standing next to him, his hand already gloveless and ready for a fight.

"Now here's what's going to happen you mustached punk. You're going to hand Eri back to me nice and easy and I'll let you and your girlfriend go. But if you resist I'll kill her right in front of you before I kill you." Overhaul threatened.

He then reached for Mario but was blasted with a sudden wave of heat.

"What!?"

"How about this? You turn yourself in and I leave you with the ability to walk to your cell."

"How dare you!?"

Overhaul lunged at Mario, but Mario threw a fireball at him. Overhaul placed his hand on the ground and created a wall in front of him to stop the fireball. Mario then broke through the barrier and knocked Overhaul to the ground. Before he could react Mario grabbed his legs and slammed him onto the ground. Overhaul thrusted his hand at Mario but Mario ducked and delivered a punch into his gut. Overhaul spat blood into his mask from the force of Mario's punch.

"Super strength? But how? You have a fire quirk." Overhaul asked.

"I don't have a quirk."

"You lie!" Overhaul yelled as he tried to attack Mario again.

Mario had evaded the attack and swept Overhaul's feet out. Then Mario slammed his fist into Overhaul's face and buried him into the ground. While Mario was standing over Overhaul four men jumped at him.

"Overhaul!" They yelled.

Mario faced them as one of the men in a white hood pulled out a gun and aimed it at Mario. The man shot and Mario blocked the bullet with his arm.

"Got you." The man said in confidence.

Mario then charged up another fireball and shot it at the group, dispersing them.

"That shouldn't be possible. The product still doesn't work right." The man in a white hood said.

As the three men surrounded Mario he began to note their appearances. One was a large hulk of a man, the other the size of a toy, the other two were normal sized, one in white and one in black. The large man was going to attack Mario when Luigi slammed into him with his green missile attack. The man was sent flying into a wall and was knocked out.

"Rikiya!" One of the men shouted. "What the hell is with these two? How are they so strong?" The man in black said, he then turned to Mario and Luigi. "How are you two so strong?"

"We are star children." Mario and Luigi answered.

They both looked confused as to why they felt compelled to answer the question.

"And what are your quirks?" The man asked.

"We don't have quirks." The brothers answered.

They then realized it must be this man's quirk making them talk.

"That's impossible. What are star children?" The man asked.

Mario and Luigi felt the urge to answer, but resisted it.

"I asked you a question. What are star children!?" The man yelled.

But Mario and Luigi kept silent.

"That's not possible." The man in black said in disbelief.

"Forget about it Nemoto. It doesn't matter what they are we still need to save Overhaul." The man in white said.

With that they both aimed their guns at Mario and Luigi while the toy sized person tried to wake up the larger one. Mario and Luigi dodged the bullets and came together and rolled up into a ball.

"What the hell?" The white one said.

"What are you two doing?" Nemoto asked.

"Let's-a go!" Was the only response Mario and Luigi gave.

The Bros then launched themselves at the pair. The two criminals avoided the attack but Mario and Luigi had the properties of a bouncing ball and ricocheted of the wall and into the man in white. Nemoto turned to try and counterattack but Mario and Luigi were already upon him. They slammed on top of him and knocked him out. As the large criminal was about to wake up Mario and Luigi slammed into his head and knocked him out again. They then bounced around the small one who couldn't keep up with the bros movements. They then slammed him from above and into the ground.

"What... are... you..." The small criminal said as he fell unconscious.

The police and pro heroes arrived soon after and arrested all the villains. Mario and Luigi gave their statements while the police were escorting the villains into the transport vehicles. While they were loading up Overhaul he gave a hateful glare towards Mario who returned the glare. The cop then pushed Overhaul into the vehicle before driving off.

On the highway towards Tartarus Prison

The criminals were sitting silently while Overhaul was furious that all of his plans were ruined by some mustached man in overalls. As he was contemplating how this all happened the vehicle abruptly stopped.

"What the..."

"What the hell is that!?"

The cops sounded panicked, then gunshots began to ring out and the screams of the officers could be heard. That is when the pro hero who was sent to escort the police transport jumped into action.

"Stop criminal scum! I won't allow you to, ughh!"

"That didn't last long." Overhaul commented.

He was curious as to who was doing this. It can't be his group, this was too efficient. Plus if it was Rappa then the sound of fighting and collateral damage would fill the air. Whoever this was was deathly efficient. The officers only fired a few shots before they were silenced and the hero didn't even have a chance to use his quirk. The doors to his prison was then ripped open and the officers and the hero stood there but they were covered in a dark substance and had glowing yellow eyes. In the center of them was a tall woman with rabbit ears and a dark cosmic cloak.

"Kai Chisaki?" The woman asked.

"To whom do I owe the pleasure?"

"I am Cursa and I believe we can work together."

"What would I gain from this partnership?"

"Something that I know you want. Power to defeat Mario and continue your plans to erase quirks from existence."

How did this person know about his plans. He'll find out later.

"Very well Cursa. Let's talk."
