Jubilife City was BIG, stepping past the security gates, Jace got a good view of the massive city.

Of course, it didn't compare to the ones back on Earth, but it wasn't far off either. The buildings were very tall and modern. The streets were occupied by Mount Pokemon instead of cars.

Walking on the sidewalk, Jace admired his surroundings. 'I'll probably stay here for a while and then go on my way,' he thought, waving at a couple walking past him.

The couple smiled and waved back. Their eyes traveled to his head, and their smiles shone even brighter.

'Right, she's still sleeping,' he realized and moved to scratch the bug on his head. The bug in question chittering in delight as Jace scratched her.

"Hey girlie, you alright up there?" he asked. Weedle gave an upbeat chitter of approval. "Heh, of course you are," he sighed, shifting his focus back to the sidewalk.

'She was pretty easy to convince. Actually, she didn't even need convincing,' he looked with a relieved expression to the ground. 'She will be a great member of the team,' he thought, thinking of the day before.

After waking up and eating breakfast, Jace released Weedle. Said Pokemon materializing in a flash in front of him.

It took in its surroundings in confusion and instantly saw two Pokemon and Jace. Growlithe and Frigibax stared with interest at Weedle, making it a bit nervous.

Jace knelt in front of Weedle making it turn its attention toward him. Before Jace could even utter a word the Pokemon somehow gave a small leap and latched onto Jace's knee.

Jace gave a small yelp and fell backward in surprise. Landing on his butt, he looked at Weedle as it crawled up his leg.

"Uh, t-that's something," is all he could utter as Weedle climbed even faster, crawling around to his back and moving onto his neck. It then settled on his head.

After a moment of silence, Jace just sighed and pulled out his pokedex. "Hey, just so you know, you're going to go on a hard and challenging adventure with me. You're going to have to battle other Pokemon. Are you alright with that?"

Weedle quickly gave an affirmative chitter and nodded its head. "Alright, glad you are so positive about this," he said as he pointed the Pokedex to the top of his head.

A flash quickly scanned over Weedle and showed the information on the screen. Jace looked at the information that was displayed and read it over.

"Huh, so you're a female. Of course, you also have the package deal of Bug Bite, String Shot, and Poison Sting. Oh, and your ability is Run Away." he said as he read it over again.

"That's a pretty solid base. Also the only base, but hey, gotta make do with what we have." He looked around at the clearing and then came up with an idea.

"Hey guys, how about we train here for a bit and then we can start moving again." All three Pokemon gave a sound of affirmation and then Jace directed the Pokemon on what they should train.

Growlithe worked on Ember and Frigibax worked on Dragon Tail, as it was currently a one-time use move, using too much energy to use it more.

Weedle first showed Jace her three moves and then he instructed her to practice Big Bite as that was the weaker of the three moves.

After a while of helping them, Jace stood back and watched over their training. Admiring how they improved a little bit every once in a while. After a while he had them practice their other moves until the sun was right in the middle of the sky.

Jace clapped his hands catching the Pokemons' attention. "Alright, that's enough for today, we should start packing up and getting a move on." The Pokemon all tiredly nodded and went to the pond, taking big gulps of water.

Meanwhile, Jace quickly packed everything up. When the Pokemon were done, he recalled them and then walked back to the route.

Arriving in front of the pokecenter, Jace admired the huge building.

It was as big as those hotels in Dubai. It was mostly painted white, but had some red accents to it, like the traditional pokecenters from the games.

He walked forward, still in a daze from seeing the massive building, toward the doors. As he got closer they automatically slid open.

Still, in a daze, he walked forward, not noticing someone coming from inside the building. He accidentally bumped into the person's shoulder.

Jace immediately turned around to apologize. "Hey, sorry," he said as he turned around.

But, as he turned around, he saw the person in question already far away from him. It was a woman. The only distinguishable characteristic was her blonde hair and black clothing.

Jace's eyes almost popped out of his skull, but he immediately shook his head. "Nah, it can't be her. Probably a cosplayer or something." He shrugged his shoulders and turned around entering the pokecenter.

The lobby was very hospital-esque, with a waiting area filled with seats in one corner of the lobby, a whole section with phone booths, and in the middle was a reception desk.

Nurse Joy was manning the desk, a very gentle smile plastered on her face as she watched over the lobby.

Jace slowly walked over to the desk as he admired the lobby. Nurse Joy's gentle gaze landed on him as he stood before the desk.

"Greetings! How may I help you?" Nurse Joy asked in a cheerful tone.

'The name really fits, huh?' Jace smiled at her. "I would just like to have a check-up done on my Pokemon, thanks," Jace replied, unclipping and putting the three Pokeballs on the desk.

Joy nodded, "Of course," she said as she grabbed the Pokeballs. "Just wait a few minutes, I will be right back!" she continued. She then turned around and walked into the room in the back.

Jace walked to the waiting area and plopped himself down on one of the seats. After about ten or so minutes, Jace's name was called to the desk.

Jace stood up and walked over. Once he received his Pokeballs, he asked Nurse Joy a question, "Sorry, but how did you know my name? I didn't tell you it."

Nurse Joy looked at him with a bit of confusion, but then understood what he meant. "Oh! The Pokeballs come with a digital ownership label. So we got your name from that. Also, you have a registered trainer ID, so your name is also stored in our database."

"Ah, makes sense," Jace laughed. "Oh! Are there any rooms to rent?" Jace asked. "Of course! How long will you be staying?" Joy asked in an upbeat tone. "Just one night."

Nurse Joy nodded and typed something on the computer, she then pulled out a card from the cabinet beneath the desk and handed it to Jace.

"Here you go! Just tap that on the reader next to your room door and it will open said door. Your room number is on the card," Joy said, and Jace nodded.

"Oh, and your first 3 stays are free. Only after the third time renting a room do you have to pay a fee. But it also isn't much, just about 10 poke dollars," Joy informed Jace and he nodded thankfully.

"One last thing, are there any training spots nearby?" Jace asked. "Yes! There are training grounds behind the center. It's mostly used for friendly battles though." Joy smiled.

"Oh! That's perfect, thanks!" Jace smiled and turned around walking to the elevator. "No problem! Have a nice stay!" Joy waved. Jace waved back and climbed into the elevator.

Arriving on the third floor Jace found his room quickly. Scanning the card and going inside he got a good look at the room. It was a standard room with a double bed, a TV, a bathroom, and a small kitchen.

He threw his bag onto the bed and instantly went for the bathroom. Being on the road for three days with no showers or baths in sight is not fun. Don't get him wrong though, he loved every single second of his journey toward here, but seeing your Pokemon trying to cover their noses really deals a blow to someone's ego.

At least Weedle didn't care, that's a plus. Shaking his head, he got into the shower and took a long worthwhile wash.

About half an hour later he got dried and put on some new clothes. He stood in front of the mirror checking if everything looked all right.

Following Nurse Joy's instructions, he opened the doors leading to the training grounds. Upon entering the training grounds he looked around and saw a few people training here and there, but after another look around he saw a small crowd of people standing around a part of the training grounds.

Wanting to take a closer look he walked over to the crowd. The sound of a pokemon battle became clearer as he neared the group of people. Finally arriving at the group he saw what was happening.

Two trainers were duking it out. On the right side was a young 14 or 15-year-old kid, a Bellsprout was standing in front of him. It was in a very bad shape. Scorch marks and burn marks were scattered over its leaves and body.

Jace turned his gaze toward the other side of the field. His eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the other trainer. 'What is she doing here!?' He rubbed his eyes, making sure he wasn't hallucinating.

Standing across from the kid was a 16-year-old girl. She had brown hair that was tied into a ponytail. She wore a white shirt that was covered by a jacket with shorts. Her blue eyes were laser-focused on the battle in front of her. Her Tepig was standing a few steps away from her. It looked like it had taken no damage so far in this battle.

'Hilda?! So if she's here, then that cancels out that this world is from the games. Then this world is probably an alternate reality of some sort of the games seeing as the game characters are still here,' Jace theorised. Shrugging he turned his focus back toward the battle.

"Alright, Tepig! Flame Charge! Full force!"

"Dodge Bellsprout!"

Tepig almost instantly ignited on fire, bursting away from his spot toward the Bellsprout. He looked like a fireball as he ran across the field, leaving scorch marks behind him after every step.

Bellsprout tried to jump out of the way, but it was too late. Tepig was too fast, he came barreling toward Bellsprout and crashed into it.

*BOOM*

Bellsprout flew back a few meters and skidded across the ground as it landed, leaving dust in its wake. It finally stopped a few meters in front of its trainer. When the dust settled, Bellsprout was seen lying on the ground, not moving an inch.

"Bellsprout is unable to battle! Trainer Hilda wins!" The person playing as the ref shouted. The crowd cheered and clapped.

The kid recalled his Bellsprout and dejectedly made his way back toward the pokecenter.

"Let's go!" Hilda shouted as Tepig ran over to her. She picked him up and twirled him around. Placing him back down she looked toward the crowd.

"Anyone else up for a battle?" She looked around waiting for a response. Jace also looked around, seeing if anyone wanted to go. After a moment, seeing that no one had made their way to the impromptu battlefield, Jace stepped out of the crowd and made his way to the other side of the field.

"Oh? Who might you be?" Hilda asked as she looked curiously at him. "Jace. Nice to meet you." Jace nodded. "And you are?" he asked.

"Hilda! At your service." She smirked. "Is three on three fine with you?" Jace asked. Hilda nodded.

Jace sighed, shaking his head, trying to rid of his nervousness. He looked over to the ref. "Alright! This is a friendly spar between trainers. Three on three, no switches, and no items!" the ref shouted.

"Trainer Hilda, are you ready?" She nodded. "Trainer Jace, are you ready?" Jace nodded.

"Begin!"

They both unclipped a Pokeball and threw it toward the battlefield. Two bright flashes appeared. Weedle materialized in front of Jace, while a Venipede appeared in front of Hilda.

"Use String Shot!"

"Defense curl!"

Weedle inhaled and shot a ball of webbing towards Venipede. Venipede quickly curled into a ball when the webbing came closer, a light shining across his body as he did so. When the web landed, it stuck harmlessly across Venipede's exoskeleton.

"Rollout! Get rid of the webs!"

Venipede still curled up, began spinning in place, dust and dirt got kicked up as he spun. The webs struggled to stick onto him as he spun faster. Finally, the webs got flung off as Venipede reached his top spinning speed, which was almost blurring speeds.

"Go!" Hilda shouted.

Venipede let momentum take the wheel as he shot forward at mind-boggling speed.

"Shit. String Shot in front of you and try to dodge!" Jace yelled.

Weedle quickly shot a small amount of webbing in front of her. Almost instantly Venipeded appeared in front of the webbing, going through it with minimal effort, though it did slow him down for a fraction of a second.

Weedle tried her best to jump out of Venipede's way but he was too fast. When she jumped she got nicked by the speeding Venipede, getting knocked to the side by a few meters.

Venipede quickly veered towards Weedle as she recovered from the hit. He again sped towards her.

'This isn't good. What can I do?' Jace thought. Suddenly he thought of something. "Use String Shot to get out of the way!"

Weedle instantly shot a string of web on the ground to her side and yanked her head back. Releasing her legs from the ground she shot to the side as Venipede sped past her.

'Weedle only has String Shot, Bug Bite, and Poison Sting. How do I use these moves effectively?' he thought, but quickly refocused on the battlefield.

Venipede again veered toward Weedle. Weedle slingshotted herself again as Venipede neared, dodging just in time as Venipede spun past her.

'I don't see how you're winning this one Weedle. I have an idea, but it's not pretty. Sorry.' Jace thought sadly. "Weedle! Web yourself to the ground with as much web as possible and use poison sting!"

Weedle nodded with determination, instantly knowing Jace's plan. She spat as much webbing as she could toward her legs and body. When she was done only her head stuck out of the webbing, she basically cocooned herself with webs.

Meanwhile, Venipede turned toward Weedle again, launching himself toward her. As Venipede came zooming toward her, Weedle's horn turned purple with poison-type energy. Weedle gave a small warcry as Venipede crashed into her.

*BOOM*

*SHREEK*

Weedle's horn grinded against Venipede as he spun in place. She shrieked as she glared at Venipede, driving her head forward. Sparks began flying as Venipede somehow spun even faster.

Weedle pushed even harder, the webbing that covered her started to rip as the clash became more intense.

Finally, the webbing gave in and Weedle shot backwards. Landing a few meters back.

"Finish Weedle off! Use Poison Tail!"

Venipede arrived beside Weedle, who was struggling to get up. His tail lit up with poison-type energy as he swung it down into Weedle. Weedle tried to counter with Poison Sting, but was quickly overpowered. The Poison Tail knocked her head into the ground, knocking her unconscious.

The small crowd cheered as the victor of the round was decided.

"Weedle is unable to battle! Trainer Hilda takes round 1!" the ref announced.

"You've got a determined bug there! I can tell it's going to be a monster!" Hilda shouted from her side.

"Thanks! I guess your bug is alright!" Jace shrugged his shoulders and smiled. "Alright!?" Jace ignored her as he focused on Weedle, noticing that she was getting brighter by the second.

Suddenly the whole field was illuminated by a blinding light. Everyone covered their eyes except Jace, he wouldn't miss this for anything. Seeing Weedle changing forms was very spectacular. The light covering her body morphed and warped until it became a distinct shape.

Finally, the light evaporated and revealed a Kakuna, with a shining exoskeleton. Everyone uncovered their eyes, looking at the cause of the blinding light show. As they saw KakunaT they cheered at her for evolving, they clapped and whistled.

'Huh, guess evolution is something to be cheered for, noted,' Jace thought, smiling softly as he returned Kakuna to her ball.

He brought the ball closer to his mouth. "You did good. We will celebrate your evolution after this. I am very proud of you," he whispered. Smiling he clipped her Pokeball and picked another one.

"Alright, it's your time to shine, bud."

Growlithe appeared on the field and barked. The crowd stared in awe at Growlithe, as it looked different from a normal one.

Giving them no mind, Jace focused on the battle. "Hey bud, this is a battle, be ready."

Suddenly, Growlithe's whole demeanor changed, gone was the playful attitude. The Growlithe standing before Jace was oozing confidence and determination. His eyes were narrowed and were locked onto Venipede.

Jace looked at Venipede and saw a deep scratch going down the middle of his body. 'Thanks, Kakuna, that will be very helpful,' Jace thought and smiled.

"Nice dog! This should be fun!" Hilda shouted.

"Yeah!" Jace responded. 'For me that is.'

At the edge of the training grounds, a few meters away from the crowd, stood a certain blonde.

'Interesting,' they thought, as they watched the battle. 'These two along with the other two, who are battling the elite four, have a lot of potential,' they smiled.

'The future is going to be very interesting,' they nodded and continued watching the battle.

To the side of the battlefield, the ref again looked at both trainers. "The second round is about to start. Are you ready?"

They both nodded.

"Begin!"
