Stardust Crusaders PLUS1

Chapter 2

Winds of Change

It was a bright sunny day, many students on the streets, walking together to school. There was so much chatter that it was hard to hear what they were saying.

In fact, there was only one who wasn't talking, a brunette boy silently looking at the ground, Asaki Shirogane.

He didn't seem sad or lonely though, he was quiet, not thinking about anything important until he felt a bump.

"Hey!" He looked up to see who was it, but when he saw them, he regretted speaking up.

A tall student, taller than anyone in the school, turned to face him, his long gold chain clanked as his chin hit the collar of his uniform, his highly stylized hat shaded his face, making his piercing glare even more intimidating.

"I'm sorry." Asaki lowered his head again and stood still, waiting for the worst.

But luckily for him, he kept walking, not even leaving a scoff on his way.

Shortly, a chorus of girls started to say the same thing.

"JoJo!"

"No way, JoJo?"

"What? JoJo is back?"

JoJo this and JoJo that, it wasn't unusual to hear that on the way to school, but it was true that it had been a minute since he last heard it.

"So, Jotaro is back." Asaki thought.

Asaki, as well as many of the students, knew Jotaro Kujo as a notorious delinquent. He skips classes, beats people up, and there are even rumors that he once threatened a teacher.

Asaki saw him around the school, but avoided him like the plague. To him, the air around Jotaro seemed tense and his gaze was so intimidating that you could feel it in your bones. For some reason, however, the girls from the school seem to be immune to it, as they tend to surround Jotaro like bees to honey.

Right in front of him, this was on full display, Jotaro was surrounded by them, the girls were all lovey-dovey and had no respect for his private space.

"Man, he's got it rough." Asaki thought. "Those girls are definitely getting a little too comfortable with him."

Some would be jealous of him, having a bunch of girls drooling over them would be a dream come true for many boys, but Asaki was not one of them. He preferred not to have eyes on him 24/7, he would feel the pressure of those stares all day long, always afraid that he would mess up and be a laughing stock.

"Although, if I had Jotaro's cool, maybe it wouldn't be so bad." He said under his breath.

"Say Jotaro." One of the girls spoke, grabbing his arm tightly. "Where were you these last four days?"

Suddenly, she was pushed away.

"What are you doing?" The girl pushing her yelled. "Don't grab JoJo's arm."

"Oh boy." Asaki said. "Here it comes."

Yes, with so many girls enchanted by Jotaro, there will be jealousy.

"What's the matter with you, ugly." One girl said.

"Shut up, flat chest!" Said the other.

The tension between the two was quickly rising.

"Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly"

"Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat Flat"

The incessant bickering was heard by all, and Asaki knew what was coming next.

"SHUT THE HELL UP! YOU DAMN GIRLS ARE SO ANNOYING!"

There it was, the classic Jotaro outburst.

Everyone stood in silence for a few seconds, but soon enough the girls were screaming with joy.

"No way, he talked to me!" One of the girls said.

"No, he was looking at me!" The other said.

Jotaro kept walking, ignoring all the noisy girls.

Meanwhile Asaki remained petrified. "Those girls are crazy; how can they be so happy after that terrifying scream?"

He composed himself and kept walking, with a little more distance from Jotaro, in case he would snap again.

That's when he noticed someone he had never seen before, a student that was leaning against a tree, with a canvas in front of him.

He wore a green school uniform and had red hair, he had a brush in one hand and with the other he was grabbing his white scarf.

"Is he painting the scenery?" Asaki tried to peek at what he was painting. "Wait, isn't that?"

The painter was blocking it, so he got a little closer, and then Asaki could see what he already suspected, in the canvas was a painting of Jotaro.

"Looks like Jotaro has some male fans too." He said, not thinking too much about it.

The red painter raised his brush with an even redder paint, and swiftly painted Jotaro's knee.

"WHAT?!" A scream was heard. When Asaki looked at the source, he saw Jotaro falling down the stairs.

"Nooooo! JoJo!" Jotaro's fans screamed in horror.

"What? What the hell happened?" Asaki ran to the stairs as fast as he could.

He didn't even notice the sinister look the mysterious painter gave him.

When he got there, he looked down, expecting to see a horrible scene, but what he found was Jotaro at the bottom of the stairs, without any damage as far as he could tell.

That was surprising enough. But what really caught his eye was what seemed to be an arm, a ghostly purple arm behind Jotaro.

Asaki rubbed his eyes, maybe he'd mistaken it for something else, but when he looked again, he saw no trace of the arm.

He heard the grass at his side rustle, when he turned around, he saw the red-haired painter with the canvas in his hands, looking down at Jotaro. He threw the painting to a tree, the fresh scarlet paint dripping eerily from it.

Asaki was stunned, what he believed to be a gift for Jotaro, was thrown away like it was trash.

ゴゴゴゴゴゴゴゴ

At the bottom of the stairs, Jotaro collected himself and looked around cautiously.

"This cut on my knee, it wasn't made by a tree branch." Jotaro looked at his bleeding knee, the reason for his fall. "The question is, how the hell did it get cut?"

"JoJo, you should really be careful on those stairs." The girls were already surrounding him. "Yeah, I hear there are accidents all the time."

*Step* *Step*

Behind Jotaro, the sound of someone walking down the stairs could be heard. When he turned to see who it was, he was greeted by a student, a red-haired young man in an emerald uniform, his long scarf draped over his arm, his eyes glued to him as he walked.

"Here, please use it." The redheaded stranger offered his handkerchief. "Your leg is bleeding, this should help."

Jotaro took the handkerchief without stopping to look at him.

"Will you be okay?" The red-haired student said.

"Yeah, no big deal." Jotaro replied.

The mysterious stranger was about to take his leave, but then.

"Hold it." Jotaro said.

They exchanged looks for a moment.

"I forgot to say thanks." Jotaro broke the silence. "You new? I haven't seen you at our school."

"Yes, I am, I just transferred here actually." The stranger said. "My name is Noriaki Kakyoin, at your service."

With that, Kakyoin left, this time, uninterrupted.

"Wow, that Kakyoin is actually really cute." One of the Jotaro fans said.

"Well, I still prefer Jotaro." Another one said.

"Yeah, JoJo is still the best."

Jotaro continued to walk to school, the girls following him, and behind one of the bushes, a trembling figure could be seen.

"What the hell?" Asaki whispered. He had hidden behind the bush, quietly listening to everything.

"That Kakyoin guy, he painted the knee of the Jotaro of the painting, and now the real Jotaro is bleeding from the same knee!?" Asaki's mind was processing what he just heard. "Did he do some kind of voodoo on him or something?"

Asaki was in a bit of a dilemma, you could say that two sides of him were fighting against each other right now. On the one hand, he wanted to warn Jotaro that Kakyoin was bad news, but on the other hand, he was afraid of gettting involved, what if he turned into the next target?

Asaki stood up and took another path, he decided, to not go after Jotaro.

"Yes, if I don't say anything, everything will be fine. I'm sure Jotaro had it coming anyway, beating people left and right, he's bound to make some enemies."

Heavy breathing could be heard.

"And he's super strong too, I'm sure he doesn't need my help, he can do it on his own."

The sound of running was in the air.

"I'm sure he'll be fine, so..."

Glistening sweat was visible on Asaki's face.

"So... Why am I still trying to tell him!?"

Asaki was running as fast as he could, he needed to tell him, he wanted to help Jotaro.

"Shit! If I was going to do this anyway, I should have done it from the beginning!"

Asaki arrived at the school and looked for Jotaro. Where could he be? That was the million-dollar question, Kakyoin could decide to strike again at any moment, he clearly didn't care if there were witnesses, so doing it in the middle of a class or something like that was certainly a possibility.

"His knee… Of course, his knee!" Asaki proclaimed, the realization had just hit him. Jotaro's knee was still cut, so the most logical place he would be was the nurse's office.

ゴゴゴゴゴゴゴゴ

"Jojo! Did you get in a fight again?" The nurse said disapprovingly, looking directly at Jotaro.

"C'mon, Jotaro? Getting hurt in a fight?" A student laying in one of the beds said.

"Yeah, that's impossible." Another said, in another bed as well.

"Well, that does sound unbelievable." The nurse laughed and reached for a pair of scissors.

"Hey! What the hell are you planning to use those for?" Jotaro suddenly sat up.

"To cut your pants of course." She said while snipping the scissors. "They are in the way."

"Hell no!" Jotaro stood up. "That'll be such a waste, I'll just take them off."

"There it is, Jotaro's one weakness." The nurse laughed again. "Well then, as for you two…"

The nurse looked at the students on the bed. "Time for the thermometer, you fakers."

Jotaro was taking off his belt when…

"Jotaro!"

He turned to see the entrance of the office, there was a student, his face was covered with sweat.

"And you are?" Jotaro said nonchalantly.

"My name is Asaki Shirogane, but that's not important." His words were hasty, the shortness of breath was evident. "It's Kakyoin, he's after you!"

"After me?" Jotaro came closer to Asaki, which in turn made him tense up.

"Yeah, he is the reason why you fell down the stairs and…"

Before Asaki could continue talking, a scream was heard, Jotaro and him turned to see the students pale with terror.

"Wha-What are you doing!?"

The nurse was violently moving a pen, almost like she was drawing in the air.

"Huh? What does it look like!? I'm shaking the thermometer!"

The look on her face was nothing short of possessed, her eyes were rolled all the way back and foam was coming out of her mouth.

"That's no thermometer!" The student shouted. "It's a pen!"

The nurse started to approach them; her movements were zombie-like.

"A pen? A PEN!?" Her face turned into a crude expression. "Do you need your eyes checked!? Here, take a closer look!"

The nurse stabbed the pen into one of the student's eyes, and a cry of pain echoed through the room.

"What the hell is wrong with her!?" Asaki shouted.

The nurse snapped to look at him. "Wrong… with me? NO, on the contrary, the only one wrong is YOU!"

She lunged at Asaki, brandishing the pen still fresh with blood and ink.

Asaki closed his eyes and braced for impact, but the attack never connected, when he opened his eyes, he saw Jotaro holding her, stopping her attack. Asaki was relieved, but it was short lived as he saw Jotaro struggling to hold her back.

"Jotaro is having problems at a test of strength!?" Asaki could not believe what he was seeing, he was actually being pushed back.

"So, you saw the painting." A familiar voice spoke.

There, sitting on the window was Kakyoin.

"I guess it doesn't matter, after all, your warning came too late." Kakyoin started to play with a marionette. "I advise you to not interfere, if you know what's good for you."

Asaki was paralyzed by the threat.

"You!" Jotaro looked at Kakyoin. "Who are you!?

"I am Noriaki Kakyoin, a loyal servant of Lord DIO, and of course, your executioner. As you might have deduced, the abnormal strength coming out of that woman is also my doing."

The movements of the puppet matched those of the nurse.

"Currently, my Stand, Hierophant Green, is inside that woman, controlling her every move. Harm my Stand and you will hurt her as well, let her kill you, JoJo, unless you want to end an innocent life."

Two bright yellow eyes shone from inside the nurse's mouth.

"What can I do!?" Asaki's brain was thinking as fast as possible. "I came here to help! I can't just wait and see!"

Asaki charged at Kakyoin, if everything was happening because of his "Stand", whatever that was, then he had to take him out.

"Hmm, truly a foolish decision." Kakyoin moved the puppet with a flick of the wrist, immediately the nurse threw Jotaro to the ground and jumped at Asaki.

"Hey, watch out!"

Jotaro yelled, but by the time Asaki realized, it was too late. The nurse pinned him to the ground and plunged the pen into the back of his neck.

Asaki remained on the floor, unmoving.

"I was planning on sparing you, but you had to go and be the hero." Kakyoin shook his head in burlesque disapproval. "Now then, Jojo! You are next!"

"Bastard."

Jotaro stood up, looking directly at Kakyoin, the exchange of glares was intense.

*Splash*

Suddenly both of them stood still.

"Water?"

The sound of gushing water appeared, like that of a fountain.

"Huh? Water… from the neck?" The nurse muttered.

Jotaro and Kakyoin turned towards the nurse. She was looking with confusion at the wound she had punctured.

Instead of blood, a clear liquid flowed out of the wound.

But there was something else, something only Jotaro and Kakyoin could see. A silhouette that emerged from the clear puddle that quickly formed in front of their eyes.

A humanoid figure with a dark armor, some kind of exoskeleton with a shine to it and a pair of piercing yellow eyes.

"Don't tell me that…"

"Could it be that…?"

Asaki started to stand up. He covered his face with a hand. "What... is this?"

"Asaki Shirogane is a Stand User!?"
