Chapter 3 - Just a Perfect Day
In the secret base of Big Hero 6, we spot 4 ordinary teens discussing matters of the utmost importance.
"I'm telling you, Princess Tiara and Captain Fancy are the perfect ship to ever come out of comics," exclaimed Fred. "They might be my 2nd favorite ship ever, second only to Karmutie."
"Fred, for the last time," an annoyed GoGo yelled, "we are trying to discuss a serious topic."
"But this is serious," he screamed, "what would their ship name be PrincessFancy..., oh wait I got it, CaptainTiara."
"Moving on... GoGo did you guys ever see anything suspicious at the Krei Tech during your stake-out," Wasabi questioned.
"Nothing but a false alarm," GoGo said, "nothing but a fat cat."
"Aw, that sounds adorable," Honey Lemon gushed.
"It was probably nothing anyway," GoGo surmised, "Krei is always leading us on wild goose chases."
"Maybe Hiro has something to say on the matter," Wasabi stated. He then proceeds to glance around. "Where is Hiro anyway."
Everyone around the table begins to voice their confusion and bewilderment.
"I don't know," GoGo states. "I haven't seen him since this morning at the Cafe."
"Yeah, didn't he say that he was going to meet us straight after school ended," asked Honey Lemon?
Just then, said miniature hero enters the liar with the goofiest grin on his face.
"Um, Hiro, you with us," Wasabi questioned. "Hello, earth to Hiro, can you hear me."
"I got this," GoGo cut in, "Hey, Hiro, Baymax brought some of the scans he did and it shows your search history."
"Uh-huh, good for you guys. I'm sure you had fun," he absentmindedly answers.
"Woah, he is really out of it," Honey Lemon states. "I wonder what happened."
Flashback
"Karmi... is that really you," Hiro asked, bewildered.
"Who else would it be,' Karmi sarcastically states, "El Fuego for a holiday visit." "You know, sometimes your not much of a genius, genius boy."
Hiro couldn't even think of a comeback to dish out; because all he saw was Karmi in all her glory. He couldn't help but notice how her nose scrunched up when she insulted him or how her hair flowed effortlessly in the wind. He didn't know he had been staring until her voice broke him out of his trance.
"Um, Hiro, are you okay," Karmi asked, worried "you like you just saw a ghost."
Was her voice always this pretty, or was this something he just noticed?
"All good here, yep, no problem at all," he stammered "everything is a-okay."
"As elegant with words as ever, huh Hamada," she gloats.
"What are you doing here," Hiro asks. "I thought you weren't allowed to come here after the whole Liv Amara incident, or was it Di Amara?"
"My parents didn't want to send me," she answers shyly, "but after some convincing from Professor Granville and me, they finally gave in."
"I just can't believe you're back in the city. We will have to catch up after I show this new student around," he says excitingly.
"Hiro, in case you haven't put two and two together, I'm the new student enrolling."
"I thought you only came to visit," he questions, "don't tell me you're finally coming back to the school."
"I thought that was pretty obvious," she states. She says this while directing his attention towards the bookbag she was carrying.
"I guess I was so excited about seeing you again I didn't notice the bag," he states sheepishly.
Hiro, so caught up in his thoughts, missed the slight blush that crossed Karmi's face and disappeared just as fast.
"Well, I guess that I'm your guide into the wonderful world of SFIT," he explained. "Which confuses me because you know this school just as well as me."
"I kinda asked Granville to let you be my guide," she added sheepishly, "all new students need to take a tour of SFIT. Whether they've been here or not."
Hiro sees his first chance to tease Karmi and adds, "You just couldn't wait to see, could you."
"Shut up," she blushes, "I just wanted someone I knew to be my escort, and you were my only option."
We see the two of them slowly walk the halls of the school as they recount what has taken place in their lives since they've been apart.
"And then Fred goes and buys an entire comic book company just so his comics art style wouldn't change," Hiro finishes.
"That sounds like a pretty wild adventure," she adds sadly, "I wish I could've been there."
"It's alright, Karmi because now that you're here we can have all types of fu...," Hiro cuts himself short.
Karmi looks up to see that they have arrived at the Tadashi ceremonial wing of the school.
"Hiro, are you okay," she asks hesitantly.
"Yeah, I'm good," he answered with his voice breaking, "I just find it hard to walk near this part of the school." "Let's continue before I get stuck here."
They continue on until they have finally arrived at Hiro's lab. Inside we see that everything is messy and thrown everywhere. However, if you look close enough, there is a chaotic organization to it all.
"Wow, your lab is a mess," Karmi states.
"Sorry, I wasn't really expecting any guest," he answers shyly.
"That's no excuse," she counters, "how do you find anything in this mess. Better yet, how haven't you injured yourself in this clutter."
"That my friend is because this is my domain, and I rule all that exists in her...," he is interrupted as he swiftly trips and falls, "ow."
"Yeah, I see very royal, your majesty," she snickers.
The very thing Hiro tripped over springs to life, and we see that it is a tiny red charging station. From inside comes a giant marshmallow of a robot.
"Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion," Baymax states, "I was alerted to your need for assistance when you said ow."
"I'm fine Baymax just tripped and fell," Hiro blushes.
"On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate your pain," Baymax asks.
"Zero Baymax, I'm good," Hiro states flatly, "could use some help up though."
Nobody moves to help Hiro, so he decides to stand up on his own.
"Hey Baymax, It's so good to see you again," Karmi states.
"It is good to see you as well, Karmi," Baymax states.
"So Hiro, why are we in here," Karmi asks.
"I just needed to grab Baymax," Hiro says, "we're good to go now."
Just as they leave the lab outside waiting is Professor Granville. She glances over the group once before she sports her signature 'I'm always right' look.
"Mr. Hamada and Karmi, I see that you two are all caught up on your recent events," she states.
"Yes, Professor Granville, it has been quite an enjoyable afternoon," Karmi says instantly.
"It has been rather nice," Hiro agrees.
"Very well then, Karmi I need to see you in my office so we may discuss your situation at the school," she states.
"Oh, well then, Hiro it was fun while it lasted," Karmi glumly says, "I guess I'll see you around."
Granville turns and heads towards her office, and Karmi has to jog to keep up. Before she is too far away, she turns around and kisses Hiro straight on the cheek.
"That was for the wonderful day," she blushed as she dashed off.
Hiro is frozen in that one spot for what felt like hours. All he does is stand there and rub his cheek. All of a sudden he begins to sport a really goofy grin as he practically skips away.
Flashback Over
"Does anybody know what we're supposed to do if he gets like this," Wasabi asks?
"What if I slapped him really hard," GoGo asks, " maybe that'll do the trick."
Just then the alarms began to flash as the heroes get a villain alert. Knocking Hiro out of his dazed state of mind.
"Alright team, let's suit up and move out," he commands as if nothing happened.
"What just happened," Honey Lemon asks?
Everyone just shakes their heads and goes to suit up. Whatever, it was made Hiro's day that much more perfect.
Author's Note: Yeah, double update in less than a week. That might not seem like much, but to me that is huge. Okay, I can't promise the next one will be this fast. So, give me any feedback you think I need. Just keep it kid-friendly. Until next time, Excelsior True Believers!
