Friday, January the 24th

Izumi, as Spider-man of course, finally arrived at the entrance of Fisk Industries´ building

He looked up, the imposing infrastructure was famous across the city of Hino

-"Still can't believe that this building is the headquarters of a criminal"

Said criminal who Izumi was about have a fight with

The realization of it made him gulped nervously

-"No! Now is not the time to be nervous, Izumi! Captain Kamiya is counting on you! And I will save Kamiya-san!"

Taking in one last breath, he walked through the front door

Since he had no idea which floor Kingpin´s office was, he figure starting from the ground level was his best shot

Once he was into the lobby, he encountered the first sign of something odd going on

This area was as big and go on as far as the eye could use

There was a front desk with a computer on it, and behind said counter, the letters FI were attached to the wall, made out of a silver and shining material

Izumi looked at his surroundings

There were many plants on their respectives bases decorating the area. Many comfortable couches were people no doubt had sat on before

The floor was made out fancy marble, spotless

Across the walls, many portraits of Kingpin were on display, on some, he was alone, on others, he was shaking hands with many important figures that Izumi has occasionally seen on the news

And yet, despite all of this fancy atmosphere, there was something amiss

-"There's no people here" the young hero thought to himself "I would have expected security guards or regular staff. Did Kingpin give them the day off or something? Well, that´s a relief, makes this easier, I don't want to fight more people than I have to"

Suddenly, he heard some acoustic sounds coming from the speakers attached to the different pillars of the lobby

-"Welcome, Spider-man" a male voice said

-"Kingpin!" Izumi thought, taking a defensive stance

-"Welcome to my humble installations, you're probably wondering where is my staff and everything, I told them not to come, since I want for us to have a private meeting"

That confirmed his suspicions

He then heard a ding sound, and looking towards the source, he saw the door of an elevator opening

-"Take that elevator, the button for my office is already marked, it's the 50… or feel free to use the stairs if that's what you prefer"

Izumi walked at the elevator

From the outside, it looked just like a regular one

However, that didn't stop the butterflies in his stomach

-"It might be dangerous, but it will be faster than using the stairs, and I have to get to Kamiya-san now!"

And so, he went into it

The elevator was moving Izumi towards his destination, the display screen showing each floor´s number as it went up

-"This isn´t so bad actually"

However, the relief was short lived, because from the middle part of walls of the elevator, little holes opened up

Izumi´s vibrations went off on his head

And thus, he quickly ducked

Bang sounds echoed through the space as metallic slugs fell to the ground

-"Bullets!? So this was a trap after all!"

Suddenly, the elevator came to a stop, as well as the bullets

-"Huh?!" the young hero was confused, and looked at the screen "Floor 40!?"

The door of the elevator opened once more

Izumi pressed the elevator´s button, but there was no response

-"Guess I am getting off here"

He walked into the hallway

-"Ok, I better find the stairs! There are only 10 floors left"

And so, he began to explore the hallway

He took turns around the different corners, looking for the stairs

-"It should be around here somewhere"

Failing to notice a thin red laser on the ground, it started to beep as soon as he made contact with his ankle

-"What's that noise?!"

And from the walls, two buzzsaws came from each side towards the hero

-"Yikes!" he ducked, the saws stopping in the middle, and retracting themselves into the wall

Izumi´s vibration went off once more

Turning around, he saw three more sets of buzzsaws, coming at him

Due to their positions, he couldn't get down like he did before

-"The ceiling!" and so, he jumped right into the ceiling, the saws passing by where he had been

Unfortunately, that was part of Kingpin´s plan

The young hero´s vibrations went off

-"Huh?!"

However, it was too late, as electricity began to emanate from the ceiling

-"Nghhhh!" Izumi clenched his teeth in pain as the electrical shocks crawled through his body "Gah!"

The electrocution caused him to unstick from the ceiling, hitting the ground with a thud sound

His muscles were twitching, it was like having ants walking on him and him trying to swat them away

-"Agh… That hurted!"

He stood up, using the wall for support

-"Ok, not, ngh… touching the ceiling"

He continued his search, despite his powers making him more resilient to damage, he could feel his insides screaming in pain with each step

Eventually, he found the staircase he was looking for

-"Great!" he felt relieved

However, upon further inspection of his suit, he could tell that some of the fabric had been tore off, no doubt result from the electric gift he received a little bit ago

-"I can always fix it back"

And so, he began to climb up the stairs

He made it to the 45th floor, and that's when he heard

-"HELP!" someone yelled

That made him stop "What?! Is someone here as well!?"

He opened the door of 45th floor and walked into the hallway

-"HELP!" the voice screamed again

-"That does not sound like Kamiya-san´s voice, so Kingpin must have another hostage"

Deciding to rescue that person first, Izumi followed the voice, until he found a closed door

-"HELP!" the voice once more

-"This must be where that person is!"

Izumi opened the door

It was an empty room that just had some furniture and vases on in

What stood up the most was…. that there was no person

-"Huh?!" Izumi was perplexed

-"HELP!" the voice once more

Izumi noticed something in the middle of the floor, and so, he walked towards it

Bending on his knees, he picked up a recorder

-"HELP!"

-"So it was coming from this recorder"

Suddenly, his vibrations went off

-"What?!"

A loud deafening sound was head

The entire room was engulfed by dust, fire ,and bright lights as different explosives that had been hidden previously went off

The door of room came down as something, or rather someone, was ejected from the room at high speed, colliding against the wall

-"Ugh" Izumi groaned in pain

He was able to run away towards the exits before the explosions fully engulfed him

Unfortunately, the impact force generated by it was still strong enough to send him out of the door, like he had been kicked out of it

He stood up, body trembling, and holding his side

-"I… gotta keep going"

Using the wall as support, Izumi was making his way back to the staircase

When he stopped at a mirror

Upon seeing his reflection, he realized that his suit was further damaged

A good portion of his arms and ankles were exposed, and there were some bruises on him, product of the electrocution and the explosion from before

The only saving grace was that his mask and chest area were intact

Each step felt heavy as he climbed up the stairs

-"At least the worst has passed, taking down Kingpin should be easy"

With sheer determination and strength, he made it to the entrance of Fisk´s office on the 50th floor

-"Hang in there, Kamiya-san, I am saving you!"

And so, he opened the door

Fisk´s office was as big as one could imagine

There was some shelving units on the sides, some antique victorian pine large cupboards as well, each of them decorated with jars and vases

There was a printer, a small coffee table with two armchairs on each side of it

There were also some statues of wild animals made out of stone, each one perfectly crafted

There was a big screen attached to the wall

And at the end of the office, right in front of the big window that allowed a full view of the city, and sitting in his fancy and enormous desk

There he was, Willson Fisk, alias Kingpin, and a couple of feet away to his side, Ai Kamiya, whose eyes were wide in shock when she saw the state the young hero was in

-"Glad you could join us, Spider-man" Kingpin politely said "I am sure you enjoyed the little gifts I left for you on your way here. A lot of money used sure, but I spare no expenses when it comes to my guests"

Izumi felt a shiver upon his painful experiences being referred as "gifts"

He looked at Kamiya, and felt relieved upon seeing that she was unharmed

-"Let Kamiya-san go!" Izumi said, enduring the pain and trying to sound confident "She has nothing to do with this"

-"That's where you´re wrong, Spider-man" Kingpin said as he stood up, walking towards his hostage with his cane on hand "In war, as well as business, family is not off limits" he put his hand on Kamiya´s chin, who tried to break herself free from the touch to no avail "Such a beautiful young lady, too bad her father didn't listen the first time"

-"You´re the one who put Captain Kamiya´s wife in that wheelchair, correct!?" Izumi asked

That was news for Kamiya, she knew her mother was shot, leading to her no longer being able to walk, but not that Kingpin was behind this

-"Indeed, and had he learned his lesson, his daughter wouldn't be here at all" he let go of her chin "But oh well, foolishness must run in the family"

-"Don´t put the blame on Captain Kamiya or his family!" Izumi yelled back "He was doing the correct thing, trying to stop a criminal like you who hurts others!"

-"Potatoe, potato" the crime-lord said

-"It's time to give up, Kingpin! We have the evidence and everything, so let her go, now!"

-"Do you really think it's over?" Kingpin mockinly asked "There are plenty of places I can go and start anew, and I am sure in those there won't be a pesty freak bothering me" he shook his head "Such a shame you didn't accept my initial offer. With our forces combined, we could have ruled not only Hino, but the whole of Tokyo prefecture together"

-"I told you, I don't want money like this! I´m here to protect the people!"

-"...Hehe" Kingpin chuckled "And that's why you´re a fool"

-"Huh?" Izumi was confused

-"There's no point in telling you, because" he pointed his cane´s tip to the hero, a small lid opening from it

-"What?!"

-"You´re gonna die, freak"

And a laser beam came from it at rapid speed at Izumi

Eyes wide, he fired a web line to the wall, and by pulling itself from it, dodge the incoming laser that left a black mark on the door, little smoke coming coming out of it

-"What was that?!" Izumi asked shocked

-"Impressive, right?" Kingpin asked back "A little gift from Nakamura, if only he had remained loyal. Once I'm done with you, he's next"

Another laser was fired

Izumi dodged, landing on the floor, and grabbing his right side in pain

-"Oh?" Kingpin was amused "Seems my gifts have left you a little tired, haven't they freak?"

Izumi hated to admit it, but Kingpin was right

His body was shaken, and jumping around was only making it worse

He needed to finish this fight fast

-"I need to find a way to get closer to attack"

Another beam was dodged

-"Hold still freak, you're only making it worse on yourself!" Kingpin taunted

Izumi dodged another beam

-"I need to get him distracted somehow"

That's when he noticed one of the armchairs next to the coffee table

-"That 's it!" he came up with an idea

He fired a web rope, attaching itself to the armchair

-"Huh?" Kingpin was confused

Izumi lifted the armchair into the air, and threw it at Fisk

Panicking, the crime-lord used his laser cane to destroy it, shattering into pieces

However, this gave Izumi the opportunity to get closer to his opponent

-"What the?!" Kingpin´s eyes went wide once he saw his opponent next to him

He wouldn't have time to fire from his cane

-"Take this!" Izumi threw a punch at his opponent

Usually, this fist would have connected, and his opponent would have been knocked out

However, what happened was something that Izumi had not anticipated

-"Huh?!" he was astonished

Kingpin, using his own hand, stopped his fist

-"H….How?" the young hero struggled to believe this

While he was taken damage before in his fights, no one has ever stopped one of his attacks like this

-"Surprised?!" Kingpin voice fas full of satisfaction

Taking this opportunity, he grabbed the web-head by his wrist, squeezing it hard

-"Nghh" Izumi could only clench his teeth in pain at his opponent´s unexpected strength, forcing him to bend his knees a bit

-"Now, it's my turn"

And so, he delivered a powerful knee against Izumi´s stomach

-"Blagh" Izumi could feel the pain crawling through his body as he spit out some blood, tainting the inside of his mask

The tainted fabric made his own lips felt sticky

-"And also this"

Following up, Kingpin threw an uppercut against his opponent´s chin

The brutal force was enough to send the young hero flying backwards, his injured body falling on the floor

-"Ughhh" he groaned in pain

-"I seriously hope you weren't thinking I am just fat and not muscle, freak" the crime-lord was enjoying this

-"I wasn´t, but I was not expecting the strength either" Izumi thought as he stood up, trembling as he did so

-"Oh? You still stand? Fool until the bitter end I suppose"

Izumi grabbed his stomach

-"Ok, note to myself, not get closer to him"

-"If you are not going to come here, then allow me" throwing his cane away, Fisk began to run towards the hero

Izumi panicked, what could he do?

-"Rah!" Kingpin yelled as he threw a left jab at the young hero, who jumped back

This process repeated itself until the young hero´s back was against the wall

-"Take this!" another straight punch was thrown

Izumi moved his head to the left, the fist colliding against the wall, leaving a mark on it

However, the crime-lord was faster this time, and was able to grab the young hero by the neck

-"Ngh"

-"Starting to regret not accepting my offer yet, freak?" Kingpin sarcastically asked

And threw the hero towards the end of his office by using a judo move, crashing the desk as he impacted with it

Kamiya was horrified as she was watching how Spider-man was being beaten

-"Don´t worry, Kamiya-san" Kingpin said "I´ll put him out of his misery now"

Having picked up his cane, Fisk stood next to the body of his opponent

He aimed the laser end at it, ready to fire

-"Hope you don't mind me shooting, I don't want to get my hands further dirty"

Kingpin was about to fire the finishing blow

Until a thwip like sound was heard

-"Huh?" Kingpin was confused

There was a web rope attached to his chin

Using his strength, the young hero pulled himself up, towards his opponent

-"What the?!"

That was all he could said as Izumi clumsily collided his own head against the crime-lord's jaw, who stumbled back from the recoil of said attack, leaving some blood dripping from his lips

Meanwhile, Izumi grabbed his head, rubbing it

-"Ow, ow! Ok, not the best idea, but it worked!"

-"You" Kingpin growled as he went to grab the hero

Izumi tried to jump back, but the pain from before made him slower

And thus, he was being held by his opponent´s bear hug

-"How about this?!" Kingpin began to squeeze hard

-"AGHHHHHH!" Izumi yelled in pain as he could feel his ribs and muscles tightening by the brutal force of his opponent

-"Ever heard of a bug being squashed?! Hahaha" Kingpin maniacally laughed at this

Despite the pain, Izumi was not going to give up, but he needed a plan

And that's when he remembered something, a trick that has always helped him from his previous fights

Taking advantage of the fact his arms were free, he aimed his hand at the criminal, and fired some web at his eyes

-"Agh!" Kingpin let go of of the web-head as he took a few steps back, trying to get rid of the web on his eyes

Using this opportunity, Izumi used a web rope to get himself high on one of the walls

-"Hah, hah" he was panting, he needed to catch his breath for now

Eventually, Fisk was able to break himself free from the web "You´re more clever than I give you credit for, freak"

-"And you are strong too" Izumi admitted "Which is why I don't get it, why this?! Why any of this!?"

-"Hmph, I suppose since you will die here today, I can grant you that much, though the fact that you have to ask proves how naive you are"

-"How does trying to help people make me naive?"

-"Because I have seen people true color´s my entire life, Spider-man" Kingpin looked at his fist as he began to tell his story "Ever since I was little, I was often bullied and left alone because of my weight, it has always being my curse"

That last word got Izumi´s attention

-"Curse?" Izumi felt… strange

-"Indeed"

He remembered, the streets of the neighborhood he grew up as a kid

-"They would always say "Here comes Whale Wilson" or "Don´t play with him, he's so slow that the team he gets is bound to lose"... To put it simply, I didn't have any friends"

-"That´s" Izumi tried to say, but

-"The worst part? My father didn't care about it"

-"What do you mean?"

Kingpin looked away from the hero, towards the window "My father was a criminal boss, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in that sense, wouldn't you say?" he looked at the hero "Tell me something, Spider-man, have you ever felt genuinely hopeless? Or that something dear was taken away from you?"

Izumi remembered all the times he's lost to his bad luck, and losing his own father

-"Or better question, have you ever felt that you are destined to be stuck in an endless loop of misfortune?"

That was the same question he'd asked at an altar many years ago

-"Because I have. As I kept growing, I started to accompany him on many of his heists, banks and the like, sometimes I would oversee his transactions with his many clients. And" he closed his eyes "I kept trying, trying to get his attention, trying to get his respect, but he would always criticize me. "You´re too slow, Wilson, or, damn it, can´t you do something good for once?!" he opened then again "And yet, the worst came one particular night"

He remembered his father and him, in his mid-twenties, running away from their most recent heist at a bank

-"The police were hot on our trail, we ran into an alleyway. We were about to get caught, but"

His father noticed a fire escape "Over here!" he yelled

He climbed it with ease

However, no matter how much he struggled, he couldn't pull himself up because of his weight

-"The police were aiming guns at me, and as I desperately looked up to my father, waiting for him to come and save me, he looked down on me and smugly said "Sorry son, but sometimes, sacrifices are necessary" and abandoned me"

Izumi´s eyes went wide in shock

-"When my trial arrived, I thought he would use some contacts, or anything to help me out, instead, he betrayed me further when he testified against me"

Kingpin´s was fighting back the tears when his own father pointed an accusatory finger at him and said "He´s the one who did it"

-"After that, I spent the next 10 years in jail"

-"I…I" Izumi was at a loss for words

-"That's when I learnt something valuable, freak, family doesn´t matter, friends don´t matter, the only thing that matters is power, the power to control everything, to crush down those who oppose you, by whatever means necessary. After I was released, it took some time, but I climbed up in the criminal world, until I became the man you see before you"

He let out a chuckle before continuing "After a while, I found my father and had him brought before me. The look on his face was priceless as I put the gun next to his head, he was shivering, begging me to forget the past and start things over, now he wanted to be the happy family"

-"And what happened?" Izumi hesitantly asked

-"I put a bullet on his brain"

Izumi felt himself going pale

As much as a monster Kingpin´s father was

-"You killed your own father?!"

-"He was never my father, and I was never his son. All I was for him was a pawn, just like my mother was"

-"But, still, to do something like that"

Kingpin let out a dramatic sigh "You probably come from a happy and loving family, Spider-man, our you probably don´t"

He certainly did come from a happy and loving family

-"Frankly" Fisk continued "I don't care who you are under the mask. I own this town now, and you won't change that"

-"I am sorry for what you have gone through" Izumi said, genuinely feeling pity for him "But that's not an excuse to do the things you´ve done"

-"I don´t need your pity, freak" he aimed his gun cane at him "I need you dead!"

He fired another laser blast

Izumi landed on the ground, holding his belly in pain

-"Why do you keep bothering, freak?" Fisk asked as he went towards the hero, throwing a punch once he was close to him "Even if you do defeat me, it won't change anything"

-"It will!" Izumi yelled back as he dodged an upcoming attack "I will bring peace back to Hino and its people!"

-"People don´t care about peace, nor do they care about you! Look at how much they have been hating you lately! No matter how many times you try to help, they will always spite you"

-"It's not a popularity contest!" Izumi yelled back as he kept dodging "It's about doing the correct thing!"

Izumi jumped back, landing against a wall

-"I can't just punch him, I need to find a way to gain the upperhand"

He looked at Kamiya, who was restrained and with a worried look on her face

-"Hang in there, Kamiya-san!"

Another fist came, Izumi dodged by jumping up, Fisk´s fist colliding against the wall

Taking this chance, Izumi fired some more web at the crime boss´s eyes, temporarily blinding him

-"Agh!" Kingpin took some steps back

Izumi fired two web ropes at him, and by pulling from them, landed a kick against his opponent´s face, forcing him into the floor

Finally, Fisk broke himself from the web blinding him "Why, you!" he growled on rage, standing up

However, his anger was cut short as Izumi jumped on top of him

-"Get off of me!" Kingpin yelled as he tried to swat the masked hero off

Thanks to his enhanced sense of balance, Izumi was able to remain still

And so, delivered punch after punch against his opponent´s face

The fists connected against his opponent, who could, slowly but sure, feel himself being pushed back

Although

-"ENOUGH!" Fisk finally caught the next fist, and begging to squeeze from it

-"Ngh" Izumi could not help but get off his opponent, landing on the ground, his knees began to fall in

-"Now it's my turn again" Fisk raised his fist, ready to delivered it against the web-head

However, mustering strength, Izumi managed to give a small jump towards him

-"Huh?!" Kingpin was shocked

And before he had time to react, he felt something hard colliding against his forehead

The crime-lord could only bend down on his knees as the strength of Izumi´s own forehead collided against him

Izumi had just headbutted him

It was strong enough to force the crime lord to let go of his grip on his hand, blooding coming out of his nostrils

-"Ngh" Kingpin was resting with his hands on the floor, trying to recover from the attack

-"I better hurry!" ignoring the throbbing pain on his head, thanks to his rather clumsy and reckless attack, Izumi went towards Kamiya "I´ll get you out!"

Izumi untied her and took the napkin gagging her off

-"BEHIND YOU!" she yelled

Izumi felt his vibrations going off, so he turned around

But before he could react, he felt a big hand grabbing him by the neck, lifting him from the ground

-"You really are an annoying pest!" Kingpin said with venom on his voice

And threw the hero against the wall

Izumi landed with his back, his injured body sliding down, sitting him on the ground

-"Ngh… It hurts"

Izumi could see the imposing figure of his opponent walking towards him

Kingpin was panting heavily, blood tainting his jaw and face. Despite the traps he had used to soften the hero up, he was still resisting, and what's worst, he has managed to inflict damage on him

He couldn't believe this humiliation

Meanwhile, Kamiya could only helplessly look at this. She was free now, but she couldn't leave Spider-man alone, after he risked his life to save her

And that's when she noticed a small lamp on Fisk´s desk

-"It's time to squash you once and for all, freak" Fisk said with his cane ready to fire

Izumi looked up, panting heavily as he did so

Was there a way out for him?

And from the corner of his eyes, he saw someone

-"What is she doing?!" Izumi thought in disbelief

Kamiya stood behind Fisk, lamp on hand, and ready to hit him

However, the crime boss quickly turned around, and grabbed her by the neck

-"Agh" she could felt herself being choked

-"No!" Izumi yelled

-"Your father has been an annoying pest as well" Kingpin coldly said

He let go of her… Only to follow up with a fist at Kamiya´s face

-"Blagh!" Kamiya´s right cheek´s was swelling from the punch, leaving an ugly bruise to it

She fell on her knees to the ground

-"Leave her alone!" Izumi yelled, struggling to stand up

-"The only regret I have is that your father is not here to see this"

Another fist was thrown, this time to her left cheek

Izumi could only watch in horror at his friend, who had already taken two punches

-"N-No" he felt useless

Time stopped for him

Was this really it? Was this all he could do? Just watch as his friend, someone who was innocent, was beaten up?

-"Please"

He remembered Meiyo´s words

-"Save her"

The plea of her father, his ally

Was he really not gonna fulfill his promise?

Was he really not gonna save someone he cared about? He's already failed once

Was he gonna do it a second time?

He stood up, using the wall as support, and shaking as he did so

-"No…" he said to himself, and looked at Fisk "I won't allow that to happen"

Fisk was ready to deliver the third punch

Kamiya could only helplessly look at Fisk, thinking about her parents and friends, so many things left unsaid and undone

She really wanted to spend more time with them

She closed her eyes

But, the attack never came

She opened her eyes

And what she saw astonished her

-"H-How?" Kingpin was struggling to comprehend this

Izumi was standing between him and Kamiya

And with his fist caught on both of his hands

-"I said leave her alone!"

And with a newfound strength, Izumi lifted the villain

-"What?!"

And, by imitating the same move he did on him from before

Threw him against the wall behind him

The Kingpin was in disbelief as he crashed down against the wall, breaking a big hole on it as he made his way into the next room, a conference room

-"Hah…Hah…" Izumi rested with his hands on his knees

However, his moment of respite was cut short when he heard someone standing up

He saw Kingpin, grabbing the remaining of the wall for support

-"You…" Fisk was pissed

Not only he had bruises and blood on his face, parts of his fancy business-man suit were torn apart, leaving his fat arms and part of chest to be exposed

-"Enough, Kingpin!" Izumi yelled back "We don't have to continue this! Just give up!"

-"GIVE UP!?" his blood was boiling "I WON'T LET YOU DESTROY ALL THAT I WORKED FOR!"

Izumi looked down "I wish I could have been there"

-"Huh?" Fisk was confused

-"I wish I could have been there" Izumi repeated

-"Stop with your random nonsense!" he yelled back

Having enough of this, Fisk began to run towards Izumi, stumbling as he did so

No doubt the damage from the attack taking its toll on him

To this, Izumi fired a web rope, attaching to Kingpin´s face

Pulling from it, Izumi jumped towards him, and landed a heavy kick on his face

Kingpin stumbled back, he was getting more tired

Izumi kept on throwing attacks, each one making the crime-lord fall back

He was getting weaker with each atack

Kingpin threw his arms at him, trying to get him into a bearhug like before

However, Izumi was faster this time, and jumped back

He then proceeded to fire another rope at him, and by pulling from it, landed a kick once more

-"Agh" Fisk was in pain "Damn it, you"

Another web rope, this time, restraining his hands

-"Huh?" Kingpin was astonished

Izumi then proceeded to deliver two more fists

The crime-lord's face went from one side to the other as he was receiving the web-head´s attack

-"Enough!" Kingpin yelled as he raised a kick towards Izumi, who jumped high, attaching to the ceiling

Izumi looked at his opponent

-"Why, you!" Kingpin growled

But before he could say more, another web roped was fired at his face

-"Agh" Kingpin was blind

Izumi pulled from the web, which led him to dive towards his opponent at great speed

-"It´s over!" he said

The fist collided straight against Kingpin´s face, who couldn't do anything to defend himself or resit

His head hit heavily on the floor with a thud sound

-"Haa…Haa…" Izumi was panting

Suddenly, cracks began to form on the ground beneath them

It must have being because the damage the infrastructure has taken, added to the weight of the two of them

Because it went down on them, a big hole forming that engulf them both

They kept on breaking each floor´s as they went down the building

-"Wow, wow, wow" Izumi was terrified as he kept on falling, attached to Fisk, who couldn't fought back

At the ground floor´s waiting lobby

The ceiling began to crack, dust falling

And then, a big hole opened, and from it, Kingpin was falling

He was gonna hit head first into the ground… Only to be wrapped in webs

Izumi had used his webs to wrap him into a cocoon, and was holding it by the end with one hand, the other holding himself by a nearby pipe

-"Ngh" Izumi struggled as he gently let go of the rope, making sure that Fisk landed safely

-"Ngh, ahem, ahagh, agh" Kingpin was coughing heavily, product of all the dust and damage he has taken "Curse you, freak"

Izumi landed next to him

-"What now? Gonna taunt me and bask on the glory?"

-"I won´t… I meant what I said earlier, about wishing I could have been there, when you were little"

-"For what? So you could have taken me down before I made it to the top?"

-"To help you" Izumi said, genuine regret on his voice

-"Huh?"

-"So I could have helped you, so you wouldn't have to be alone… Because I understand that pain as well"

-"... You really are a fool, Spider-man" he let out a chuckle "But it doesn't matter now. You may have defeated me, but you'll soon learn the harsh reality of this world. Everybody, whether they are close to you, or random civilians, will end up hating you, no matter what you do for them, no matter how many lives you save, because people, they just love seeing someone fail, they love seeing someone be a mess and destroyed, because people are selfish, until the bitter end"

-"That won't happen"

-"Live in your innocent world, Spider-man… But mark my words, you will regret the day you stopped me, you will miss it, of that, I´m certain"

-"I won't regret it"

He will never regret doing the correct thing

-"Kamiya-san, I gotta check on her" and so, he climbed up towards the office

Suddenly, sounds of sirens came in closer

Entering the building, police officers aimed their guns at Kingpin

A certain person walked towards Fisk

Upon seeing him, Fisk let out a grunt

-"Wilson Fisk" the Captain of Hino´s Police Department Meiyo Kamiya said "You´re under arrest"

At the office, Izumi walked towards Kamiya, who was still on her knees

-"Are you ok?!" he asked concerned, extending a hand to her

-"Y-Yeah" she took his hand

Her face was swollen with purple bruises

-"Is father ok?!" she asked in a panic "What about mother?!"

-"They are both fine, waiting for you"

Suddenly, the exhaustion finally caught up to him, and he got down on his knees

-"Ugh"

-"Spider-man!" Kamiya yelled concerned

-"I… I'm fine" he was in pain and tired, but still managed to stand up "Come on, let's get you out of here"

He wrapped her right arm around him, and by holding her from her waist with his left hand, made their way down

At the entrance, it was a chaos of police cars and firemen examining the damage

The reporters were quick on scene, bombarding the area with flashes and microphones, all shocked upon seeing Fisk being escorted into a police vehicle

-"I´ll hold a press conference later" Meiyo said "But long story short, Fisk was behind the recent kidnappings that had happened at Hino over the last couple of days, including"

-"Father!" someone yelled

Meiyo turned around, and what he saw made him broke into tears

-"AI!"

He ran towards her, wrapping her in a big hug

-"Thank the heavens you´re safe"

-"I´m happy to see you too"

He noticed the bruises on her "Dear god! She needs medical assistance! Now!"

The touching reunion was a target of cameras taking photos, while others whisper among each other

-"That's his daughter?" one person asked

-"I know her! My daughter and her go to the same volleyball team!" another said

-"So Fisk also kidnapped her?"

However, for this family, that didn't matter

All that matter was that they were together once more

Izumi looked from the distance, hiding behind some pillars

A smile on his face as he saw his friend hugging her father and the recently joined mother

He fulfilled his promise

And the happiness on his friend's face

Was the best reward to his efforts

And with that, he disappeared from scene

Once at home, Izumi was sitting on his bed, tending his wounds

He would have gone to the hospital, but that would certainly have him all over the news

He had bruised on his arms, chest, and belly area, some of them were still throbbing in pain or had dried blood in it

Wincing in pain, he apply a bandage with some disinfectant on it

-"Ouch, ouch"

His damaged costume was on the laundry washing

-"I´ll have to fix it afterwards"

Right now he was on his pajama clothes

The sun had already set down on the horizon, and the night sky took place

-"Following up, the arrest of Fisk-san" the news was being displayed on his phone "Recent evidence has come to light, and Fisk-san has admitted to all the charges done against him. One of his accomplices was Hiro Nakamura, head of the Graduate School of Science at the Hino Campus of the Tokyo Metropolitan University"

-"Poor Nakamura-san" Izumi felt bad for him, even if he was a criminal

-"As the arrest was taking place, some people have claimed to see Spider-man around the area, and are wondering if he have anything to do with the rescue of the Captain of Hino´s Police Department´s daughter"

-"I hope she and her family are doing well"

-"To this, Captain Kamiya has stated that they are indeed grateful to him, and when asked what will happen to the famous superhero, he only said that it will be a matter of discussion during the next couple of days, but that without him, a lot of civilians would have lost their lives as well"

Izumi smiled at this

-"As for the public's opinion, recent surveys show an increased support for Spider-man, some are even calling for the order of arrest to be lifted, and"

Izumi turned off the news

He let out a relieved sigh

-"I am glad mom does not return until tomorrow afternoon, the scare it would cause her to see me in this state"

However, he couldn´t endured it anymore, and so

His body collapsed into his mattress and he began to snore loudly, sleeping peacefully

Because, after all of that

Can someone blame him?

Tuesday, January the 28th

The next couple of days were full of chaos as the arrest of Fisk was still been heavily talked among the inhabitants of the town

However, that was not important for Kamiya

Because she was finally able to return to school

Where she was welcomed by three people hugging her

-"Kamiya!" Shikimori, Nekozaki, and Hachimitsu yelled

-"Hi" she politely replied, returning their hug

-"Are you ok?" Shikimori asked, noticing the bandages on her face

While the swelling has gone down, she still had them to cover the bruises

-"I am, I´ll take these off in a couple of days"

-"Still can't believe Fisk was behind your kidnapping" Nekozaki growled in rage "I swear, if he ever escapes, I´ll"

-"Super Nekozaki into action, it seems" Hachimitsu teased

-"Hehe" Kamiya giggled "I´m happy to see you all"

Meanwhile, a couple of feet away, the boys, that is to say Izumi, Inuzuka, and Saruogi, were watching this

-"Good to see Kamiya-san and the others are on high spirits" Saruogi said

-"All's well that ends well" Inuzuka said

-"Yeah" Izumi added

Thank goodness there were not any wounds on his face, and the others were covered by his clothes

But seeing his friends happy

It was worth it

-"Hey guys" Nekozaki said as she and the others joined

-"Are you ok, Kamiya-san?" Izumi asked

-"I am doing well, thank you for asking" Kamiya smiled

-"She was telling us that Spider-man saved her" Nekozaki said

-"So the comments about Spider-man being around the area were true after all, Kamiya?" Shikimori asked, somewhat conflicted

-"Indeed, he's also saved father beforehand, so I can't thank him enough"

-"I am sure he appreciates your gratitude" Hachimitsu said, she then looked at Izumi "Don´t you think so, Izumi?"

-"Oh" Izumi was not expecting to be put under the spot like that "Sure"

There was something peculiar about the smile Hachimitsu was giving him, but he couldn´t tell what exactly

As they friends and girlfriend kept on talking, Izumi thought of Kingpin, and his life story

-"Kingpin led a terrible life full of misfortune as well… In that sense, I guess we´re similar, but" he thought of his family and friends "I had and still have people on my side who supported me and currently support me through my darkest times, he had none… Of course, that doesn't excuse him of all the evil things he has done, but I can´t help"

He closed his eyes "I wonder, if I didn't have them, would I have turned out the same way as Kingpin?..."

He thought of his deceased father, as well as all the hardships he has faced in his life "No… I chose to do the right thing, help out those who need help. We all have the choice of doing what's correct, and I will always fight for those who are in danger, because that's my duty"

He opened his eyes, and saw those he loved chatting happily

All thanks to his efforts

-"No matter the circumstances, I will never give up. Besides, I still have them with me, and with their support on my side, nothing can´t stop me!" he raised a fist close to his chest "I am invincible!"

His moment of vigor was cut short by a newspaper engulfing his face

-"Mhnmm, Mhmm!" he waved his arms in panic

The others went to help him out

Some things don't change just because he has superpowers now

Thursday, January the 30th

A couple of days later, just before the first class of the day was about to begin

-"Izumi-kun" the teacher called

-"What is it?"

-"Please head to the principal's office"

-"Huh?" Izumi was confused "Did I?"

-"Don´t worry, you´re not in trouble, but there´s someone that wants to talk to you"

He exchanged looks with his friends and girlfriend, who were just as confused

Shrugging, he made his way to the office

There were a couple of knocks at the door

-"Izumi-kun?" the principal asked

-"Yes" he replied

-"Please, come in"

He opened the door, and once inside, his eyes went wide in surprise

Not because of the principal, but rather, the person he was with

Someone Izumi was not expecting to see

Not without wearing his Spider-man suit at least

-"Izumi-kun" the principal said "This is the Captain of Hino´s Police Department, Meiyo Kamiya"

The captain had an amicable smile "It's nice to meet you, Izumi-kun"

And that´s the end of that, and hoo boy, that was wild, but good job Izumi

So, we have the fight of Izumi and Kingpin, I really hope you like it, fighting scenes have never being my strong suit, and I want to thank all of those who are always giving me tips on how to improve, it means a lot

So, Kingpin has been taken care of, however, that does not mean we are done with this saga. We still have one more chapter left

I told you before that I was going to stray away form the canon of the Shikimori manga... Well, it´s time I show you exactly what I mean

After all, it´s going to be Valentine´s day, and it will be one that Izumi and the rest of the gang won´t EVER FORGET!
