Roxanne saw him stop abruptly for a moment, before taking off his sunglasses and rushing towards her. Clearly angry at that, and she already suspected something terrible.
"You fucking bitch!" he roared and she felt as if she was about to get a few inches shorter. She couldn't even hope for her angelic innocent looks to possibly appease a little, right now she looked more like the complete opposite.
"Don't you have eyes in your head? If you're too stupid to drive this truck ..."
"I forgot to look in the rearview mirror," Roxanne made an attempt to apologize while wondering how the hell she was going to pay for that damage. She probably didn't have that much cash left, that was for sure. "I'm really sorry!"
"Oh, come off it!" he ranted at her after shaking his head at the malevolence. "That's just a pile of junk now!"
"Not necessarily," Roxanne objected, and she even managed to sound relatively confident. "I could fix it."
The biker gave a short sneer. "Oh really?"
"Yes!" she held his appraising gaze. "I just need access to a properly equipped garage."
He eyed her up and down again before turning away with a grin and pulling out a cell phone.
"It's me. I need the tow truck," he reported a moment later, relaying exactly where they were. "... Okay."
He pocketed the cell phone and briefly watched her take a closer look at the demolished motorcycle.
"Hey, its a Harley Dyna Streetbob. Not bad!"
"You know your way around?" he asked, puzzled, and Roxanne just shrugged.
"A little." Let's not get carried away in case she couldn't manage to get the machine at least roadworthy again ... but first things first.
"Do you drive, too?" Judging by her appearance, he was almost certain about that. She really could pass for a biker chick, anyway.
"I can, but I don't own one. So no," she replied, and he nodded curtly.
"There's a tow truck coming in about ten minutes, by the way," he added.
"Okay." Roxanne leaned next to him against the tailgate of the pickup and then there was kina awkward silence.
After all, she had just done some pretty serious damage to his Harley and apologized, what else could she say!
She was careful not to look straight at him again.
What she had seen so far was enough for her. In a way too positive sort of way.
He, on the other hand, did not seem to have any similar concerns, and Roxanne could literally feel his inquiring gaze.
"Where are you from?" he finally wanted to know.
"Florida."
"And where are you heading?"
"Dunno yet." Damn, she really should be a little friendlier!
"Name's Roxy, by the way," she introduced herself, and he took her proffered hand and gave it a quick shake.
"Tig."
Tig. Okay that was definitely not his real name but now she knew how to address him at least.
Before she could add anything else, the tow truck pulled up and a lanky young guy, also dressed in a black biker vest, jumped out of the cab.
"Holy shit!" he gasped when he saw the bent and scratched Harley lying there. "What happened?"
Tig waved it off. "Later. Gimme a hand, will ya?"
Now finally Roxanne noticed what kind of motorcycle club the two seemed to belong to.
Sons of Anarchy. The young guy wasn't a full patched member yet, with only 'Prospect' attached to the bottom of his back.
That was more than obvious, otherwise she didn`t know much about motorcycle clubs and their politics and hierarchy.
The two of them loaded up the Harley, while Roxanne noticed that her pickup had only a few not quite noticeable scratches from this crash.

"Okay, let's go!" said Tig, opening the passenger door of Roxannes pickup as the tow truck pulled out of the parking lot and turned onto the road. "Just follow him."
Involuntarily, Roxanne gripped the steering wheel with both hands a little tighter than necessary as they drove, wondering what exactly would await her shortly.

The first impression, however, was anything but frightening.
A very normal workshop area on the outskirts of a small town called Charming and the club apparently had its premises right next door. Except for a few mechanics, no one seemed to be around and at Tig's beckoning, one of them immediately interrupted his work to help the Harley bike respectively what's left of it unload.
Tig didn't say much, just introduced Roxanne and briefly explained what her presence was all about.

"Just go after them, you'll find everything inside," he added, turning to her and couldn't resist from smiling mockingly. "I'm curious, then!"
