This one is dedicated to clubs. The Cooking Club has members making basic curry and Seiya tasting them. Couture Club has the basics of thread covered. The Student Council meets to find ideas on how the school's sports festival will be held since it's banned on-site due to the BBs. They brainstorm ideas, such as outside the city or in community centers. Once they narrow locations, they will start their outreach tomorrow.

Class topics for this week (random): Origin of Life (biology); Origin of the Universe (English); Light Speed Measure (physics); Algebra Basics (math); Ancient Philosophy Basics (history).

Schedule: Monday (English & History); Tuesday (Moral Studies & Social Studies); Wednesday (Math & Literature); Thursday (Biology & Physics); Friday (English & PE, BBs free period).

The weather for today is sunny with high pollen.

This week concludes the May chapter.

[May 22, Tuesday - week 4]

"Today, we'll be covering the basics of making curry," Rindo says. "This may seem like a no-brainer for some of us, but others could use it as a reminder or even learn how. I say this is the perfect opportunity."

Ryudo, the freshman, places the ingredients on the table.

"Here, we have chicken, vegetables, and rice. These are the minimum needed, but of course, you'll need to create the broth. The broth consists of a creamy brown sauce that you can customize whatever flavor you like. For instance, you can have a sweet or spicy type of curry sauce."

Rindo starts cooking a sample plate.

"So for this basic lesson, we're going to do a sweet flavor curry. First, I'll split this chicken... then I'll cut the onions... carrots... and potatoes. Then I'll add the broth and the sweet flavor. In this case, I'll add honey."

Rindo takes the skimmer and adds it to the pot.

"Next, I must skim to remove unwanted parts... you can add a cube or two of curry sold at grocery stores." Rindo shows a yellow rectangular box. "This box is a recommended brand. Once I add the cubes, I should let them dissolve. I simmer on low heat, stir until the curry becomes thick, and wait about ten minutes. The curry should be ready to serve."

Rindo serves the curry on prepared rice.

"Done! It's ready to eat. The rice is already done and I explained how to cook so I won't repeat it here. Seiya-kun, won't you mind tasting this?"

"Of course!" Seiya responds. He receives a plate from Ryudo.

"This is what curry tastes like. It should taste good for the way it looks."

Seiya grabs a plate and eats it with a provided spoon.

"How is it, Seiya-kun?" Ryudo asks.

"Thick. The broth tastes like soup but smooth and the flavor is sweet."

"Very good. There you have it. The basics of making curry. Now, let's all make curry and have Seiya-kun taste them all," Rindo says.

The rest of the members create curry under Rindo's guidance, and Seiya tastes different kinds of plates. Some are better than others, while others are burnt or uneatable. Seiya himself takes notes for future reference.

Meanwhile, in the Costume Room, Kokiku takes the lead once again. "We covered the basics of sewing the last time we met. Now let's continue the basics by sewing a simple patch to a piece of cloth. I will provide the fabric and a patch for you to practice on. Do your best."

Shun and Chihiro receive their pieces of fabric and a random patch each from Kokiku. They start to prepare the thread right away.

"What do you get, Shun-san?" Chihiro asks. "I have a butterfly patch."

"I have a bunny patch," Shun says. "Just the head, though."

"That is so cute! I like the butterfly though. It's very alluring."

"I see the butterfly suits you. Are they your favorite?"

"Of course! I find butterflies stylish. They have so many patterns."

Shun effortlessly sews the bunny patch into the fabric. The bunny patch is just an oval-shaped head with two ears, dotted eyes, and a small x as its mouth and nose. This gives the patch a cute appearance.

"This takes me back... when I've done this..."

"You sew so fast, Shun-san. I see you already finished."

"It's a long story but yes I'm already done. You like it?"

"Of course I do. It's so smoothly put together."

Shun lends the finished cloth to Chihiro, who feels the smoothness of the patch seamlessly attached to the fabric as if there aren't threads present. A classmate of Chihiro's, Shizuka, takes note.

"I hear Shun-san finished," Shizuka says.

"Here! Take a hold of this. It's so smooth," Chihiro says.

"That patch is so cute and the sewing is so smooth."

Soon, other club members surround Shun and Chihiro and take turns feeling Shun's fabric. Kokiku then approaches them.

"I see you got quite the crowd, Shun-san," Kokiku says.

"Senpai, you must feel this!" Shizuka lends the cloth to Kokiku.

"That is effortlessly done. I didn't know you were that experienced, Shun-san. I don't sense any gaps or rough stitches whatsoever."

"I've been doing it for a long time when I lived overseas."

"I see. You don't mind if we keep this as an example?"

"Of course not. It's just a simple cloth, after all."

"Thank you so much." Kokiku bows.

Once all members finish their tasks, the club ends for the day.

Meanwhile, the Student Council meets to brainstorm location ideas for the school's sports festival, given that they're banned on-site due to the BB's presence. Himeko prepares a blank notepad to write suggestions.

"Sorry for the inconvenience my friends and I caused," Shiryu says.

"What's done is done. We just need to come up with ideas," Ryoma says.

"Exactly, Shiryu-kun. Don't beat yourself over it. That's why we're here to plan and see what we can come up with," Himeko says.

"Thank you." Shiryu nods.

"I suggest a community center," Iori, the enforcer, says.

"How about outside the city?" Rango, the treasurer, asks.

"These are good ideas, actually," Himeko says. "But I think outside the city would be too far for a sports festival, so I'll agree with the community center. The problem is finding one big enough for the whole school. Plus, we must take guests and staff into account too."

"We also need the sports festival to take place outdoors, just as this school has always done. Doing indoors wouldn't be smart," Ryoma adds.

"I see. We need to find a place with a track and field," Mei says.

"We would have to do a stadium then because most community centers are indoors, and I doubt any of them have track and field."

"Good! Then we'll do a stadium. We need to find locations and find out the costs of reserving one so we can have a fundraiser," Himeko says.

"I beg your pardon, but what do you do at a sports festival?" Shiryu asks.

"It's exactly what it sounds: it's a sporting event. However, what makes this school unique is its focus on Olympic-style events. In fact, several graduates have gone to the Olympics and won medals. You'd be surprised that many enroll and transfer here just for that," Ryoma says.

"Is that so? Then I would like to make up by collaborating."

"Good! Then we'll start our outreach tomorrow," Himeko says. She has written enough stadiums with their location and phone numbers. With those notes done, they will meet to narrow their alternative location.
